Coldheartedtruth.com is is becoming 'cult-like' in its support of President Trump
WASHINGTON – Sen. Bob Corker lashed out again Wednesday at his fellow Republicans, saying the GOP has become almost like a cult in its support of President Donald Trump.
“We are in a strange place,” the Tennessee Republican and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee told reporters in Washington.
“It’s almost, it’s becoming a cultish thing, isn’t it? It’s not a good place for any party to end up with a cult-like situation as it relates to a president that happens to be of, purportedly, of the same party.”
Corker, who is retiring from the Senate when his current term ends next January, tempered his remarks a bit by saying it’s not fair to make that criticism of every member of his party because some GOP lawmakers are willing to stand up to Trump.
But, "is leadership in general not wishing to poke the bear?" he asked. "Absolutely because it's all about the next election, right?"
The senator’s comments come one day after he blasted Senate Republicans for refusing to give a vote on bipartisan legislation that he is sponsoring to give Congress the chance to accept or reject tariffs imposed by the president.
His voice occasionally rising, Corker said Tuesday in a fiery speech on the Senate floor that Republicans are afraid to give his amendment a vote because they fear angering Trump.
“I can’t believe it!” he said. “I would bet that 95 percent of the people on this (Republican) side of the aisle support intellectually this amendment – I would bet higher than 95 percent – and a lot of them would vote for it if it came to a vote.”
“But no, no, no!” Corker continued. “Gosh, ‘we might poke the bear’ is the language I’ve been hearing in the hallways …. ‘The president might get upset with us as United States senators if we vote on the Corker amendment, so we’re going to do everything we can to block it.’”
Corker and the other sponsors offered the amendment in response to Trump’s recent decision to impose steel and aluminum tariffs on U.S. allies, a move that analysts said pushed the United States closer to a trade war. Trump imposed the tariffs by arguing they are needed for national security.
Really asshole.....HEALED?????? I'm sure you can provide a link that the world healed......and the ocean defied physics by healing and receding.....!!!! Too dayum funny!!!
State Department adviser keeps a list of employees who are loyal to Trump
Mari Stull, a former food lobbyist and wine blogger recently appointed as a senior adviser at the State Department, has been making a list of government officials and employees of international organizations who are loyal to President Trump, Foreign Policy's Colum Lynch and Robbie Gramer report.
How she does it: She scours official's social media pages for any signs of political disagreement and researches to see if they've supported — or even merely signed off on — any Obama-era policies. She has vetted Americans working for agencies such as the World Health Organization and the United Nations as well, figuring out why and how they were hired, according to FP.
Why it matters: She has begun keeping some officials out of meetings with foreign counterparts, according to the FP's sources. At least three senior officials — deputy assistant secretaries of state Molly Phee, Erin Barclay, and Nerissa Cook — are expected to leave the State Department or at least change bureaus because of Stull's management and probing.
Well, I'll be dayumed, you and the kansan are as dumb as I think!!!!!! His mocking is my gain.....LOLOLOLOL!!!! The cultist and the leech....what a great book title....
Erick Erickson: Obama would have been impeached for Kim summit.
Spare me the complaints, oh Democrats. Your precious Obama glad-handed the Cubans who have now used unknown weapons to assault our diplomats. The Cubans run a brutal regime, ruthlessly punish dissidents, and would be glad to house Russian nukes just off the coast. But Obama decided he wanted to be friends.
So spare me your outrage over Trump.
And spare me your belief that Obama got Iran to suspend its nuke program. The Iranians, lest you ignored it, just announced the opening of a new nuclear facility, which means they had to be working on it the whole time. They can't be built in the two weeks since Trump scrapped the Iran deal. They even admit they started it on before 2015.
I'll take this on for all of us for consistency's sake. Like with Obama, President Trump should not have engaged in a glad-handing, face time exercise with the North Korean leader where the communist monster gets a propaganda win of North Korean flags at equal display with the American flag.
And for what?
We got nothing from this it would seem except the promise of more talking. And while we are talking, they are building nuclear weapons. About the only reason, they've gotten to this point is because China would very much like for the United States to wind down its military presence in Asia, so China has less to worry about as it expands.
The whole design of this is offensive. The President pees in the punch bowl of the G7, insists the Russians come back into the organization, then flies off to Singapore to make kissy face with a man who routinely murders his own people.
Had Barack Obama done that, Republicans would be demanding his impeachment.
I generally think Donald Trump has run a pretty mature foreign policy that works for American interests. But this past week has been a diplomatic farce, and I suspect those generic ballot numbers that have had Democrats panicking are suddenly going to swing back in their direction.
Having the American President abdicate his leadership of the G7 to flirt with a communist monster is unacceptable. Diplomacy to get rid of North Korea's nukes would be great. But that's not what happened. Instead, we gave the North Koreans a considerable PR win in Asia, gave them credibility in South Korea, and came home with just a participation trophy.
I have been saying the same thing since the disaster summit meeting. He loves a dictator and apologized for the Un's use of murder and torture to hold on to power because he was only 26 years old. but Scott has joined the cult with every ounce of his apparently limited analytical abilities. it's not an insult is's backed up with his posts ever since Trump won the election with probable assistance with the Russians.
President Donald Trump's personal attorney, Michael Cohen, has split with the legal team that has shepherded him through a criminal investigation that included a high-profile FBI raid, a source familiar with the change said Wednesday.
The split could signal a shift in legal strategy and comes amid mounting pressure on Cohen as criminal charges could become likely. Sources familiar with Cohen's plans tell CNN that his main goal right now is to have a legal team with experience in the Southern District of New York, which is handing the probe.
The first source familiar said Cohen had not yet met with prosecutors to speak about a potential deal, and it's unclear whether either side is seeking one.
Cohen has not been charged with a crime, but the FBI raid of his home, hotel room and office in early April revealed that prosecutors had zeroed in on his personal financial dealings, including the payment he made to porn star Stormy Daniels on Trump's behalf before the election.
Cohen has found a new lawyer, but the name of Cohen's new lawyer was not yet known.
His original attorneys, including a Washington-based partner and a New York-based partner from the large firm McDermott Will & Emery, have not yet told the judge overseeing his case in New York, where Cohen is challenging prosecutors' ability to see all the documents they seized.
The firm's spokesperson did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
ABC News was first to report on the legal team change Wednesday.
The President's allies are trying to parse Cohen's move to switch up his legal team, which has sparked a fresh round of concern that Trump's longtime attorney could flip at any moment.
Trump's allies said they're unsure of Cohen's motivation for the change. But they worry that the pressure he's facing -- and the prospect of criminal charges -- could inspire him to turn on Trump.
"He is facing the end of a barrel," one Trump ally said of Cohen.
"This is very disturbing," another Trump ally said of Cohen's legal reshuffling, noting that the President has "got to be extremely worried," about the potential Cohen may cooperate with prosecutors, particularly given Cohen's deep ties to the Trump family business.
wphamiltonJanuary 11, 2018 at 2:14 PM I am reasonable, I will grant direct effects on business from Trump's actions. For example sales of potassium iodide (anti-radiation) have increased dramatically since Trump got wound up with his nuclear bomb bombast. Somebody is probably hiring people to help fill those orders. Trump gets credit for that.
I'm tempted to get in on that act, and yep that would be due to Trump. Us old-timers can dredge up memories of Cold War era preparations. Yeh some people, even smart people, had fatalistic attitudes. "In nuclear war, that's it, it's all over." But there ARE things you can do to survive, ways to prepare, provided the initial strike and aftermath doesn't kill you. I think an enterprising person could put together a "Nuke Kit". Maybe expand with other "Trump Kits" covering other potential calamities.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s public image has sunk to its lowest ever since the Russia investigation began a year ago, a Politico/Morning Consult poll shows.
The investigator, who has been probing allegations of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign since May, 2017, has lost support among Republicans, Democrats and independents.
Around 36 percent of all registered voters now have a negative view of Mueller, up from 23 percent slightly over a year ago.
