I was wondering how long our coward host would take to grab onto this image and story.....Yeah, the mother was only gone for a moment before returning.....but I'm sure even the callous from Mn can postulate what the kid would be like if the mother did not return!!!!! All you prove is right wing desperation for any inaccuracy to discredit all reporting...Sorry folks, but the picture is as real as you can imagine and the liar in chief caused it.....You really have become an embarrassment to your family!!!!
You can see the woman in the "real" picture. She stated that they were never separated and that the child started was crying because she was tired, hungry, and had to be temporarily put down (as the mother had been carrying her) so the mother could be frisked by the border patrol. She was picked up momentarily after this picture was taken.
For those of us who really are parents (not old single male losers living in their mother's basement)... I can relate to tired kids crying over simple things like not wanting to be put down (even to bed) when would prefer being held.
Sorry CH, you remain a completely callous asshole......You can see in the picture the terror of a little girl separated from her mother...You rationalize it is a hissy fit or hungry....fuck you...you have no fucking idea what transpired there and your bullshit is pouring out your ears....Sad what a douche you have become protecting your asshole....GROW UP!!!!! Go pay your alimony and child support.....I'm sure it is costing you a fortune....LOLOLOL!!! My cabin is lovely this time of year! How's your hovel?
Who said the following? Should they [children] be able to stay here? It's safer," CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour asked during an interview.
"It may be safer, but that's not the answer," _____ said. "We need to provide more border security in southern Mexico. They should be sent back as soon as it can be determined who the responsible adults in their families are."
"All of them who can be should be reunited with their families," ____ continued. "We have to send a clear message: just because your child gets across the border, doesn't mean your child gets to stay. We don't want to send a message that is contrary to our laws or that will encourage more children to make that dangerous journey."

Well I say that judging from the original photo and the photographers account, I say she was subject to a little sleep depravation. The poor little tyke needed a nap.

"“My daughter has become a symbol of the … separation of children at the US border. She may have even touched President Trump’s heart,” Denis Valera, who said he was her father, told Reuters.

22 Jun 20185,755 Former Sex and the City star turned gubernatorial candidate for New York Cynthia Nixon has called the Immigration Customs and Enforcement agency (ICE) a “terrorist organization”
Pentagon said Friday it was preparing to house up to 20,000 immigrant children at four military bases while US immigration officials issued a notice that it may seek up to 15,000 additional beds to detain immigrant families, as government agencies scrambled to carry out President Trump's executive order to keep families together after they are detained at the border.
The US military was asked to help provide temporary housing for children on its installations, a Pentagon spokesperson told BuzzFeed News, and it has been “working closely to determine the requirements and timing for support."
“Secretary Mattis' guidance has been clear: that the DOD will support our federal partners,” the spokesperson said.
The Pentagon is looking at four US bases — Fort Bliss, Goodfellow Air Force Base, and Dyess Air Force Base in Texas, and Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas — to potentially house unaccompanied children who either crossed the border alone or were separated from their families, although the Department of Health and Human Services would be in charge of caring for them.
Trump's order directs the Department of Homeland of Security to keep detained families together, but any long-term enforcement of the order is contingent on a judge approving changes to a 1997 settlement agreement that restricts the detention of children.
It was not clear Friday where in the country the extra beds requested by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would be located, although the document outlines the need to be near infrastructure such as highways and airports, as well as medical facilities.
“ICE is seeking information regarding potential facilities to accommodate up to 15,000 beds, which would ideally be comprised of several service locations and/or providers,” the notice says.
ICE currently has 3,300 beds for detained immigrant families across three facilities in Texas and Pennsylvania. The agency describes its housing as providing “quality and compassionate care for non-criminal families in a residential setting.”
The Trump administration’s controversial “zero tolerance” policy — which separated more than 2,300 children who crossed the border illegally from the adults they were traveling with from May 5 to June 9 – has led to chaotic scenes as the children have been sent to facilities all over the country. It’s still unclear when or how most of them will be reunited with their families.
Defense Secretary Jim Mattis this week insisted that housing the children on US bases would not be a departure from the military's usual mission. The Obama administration rolled out a similar policy in 2014, temporarily housing 7,000 children in three military bases.
“We have housed refugees, we have housed people thrown out of their homes by earthquakes and hurricanes," Mattis told reporters outside the Pentagon on Wednesday ahead of a meeting with his German counterpart. "We do whatever is in the best interest of the country."
The Navy is also looking at plans to build “temporary and austere” detention centers in Alabama, Arizona, and California, according to a memo obtained by Time. It describes facilities that would house as many as 47,000 people at the former Concord Naval Weapons Station in California, another 47,000 people at Camp Pendleton, the Marines training facility in the same state, and as many as 25,000 people at abandoned airfields in Alabama.
The Pentagon said it was “conducting prudent planning and is looking nationwide at DoD installations should DHS ask for assistance in housing adult illegal immigrants,” adding that, at this time, there has not been such a request from Homeland Security.

Approximately 2,300 migrant children have been affected by the policy, which Trump halted with an executive order on Wednesday.
The father of the girl in the photograph, though, said in a Thursday interview that she was never separated from her mother. He said the child was only briefly kept aside to allow border agents to conduct a pat-down of the parent. It was also reported on Friday that the mother was deported in 2013, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Conservatives slammed the cover after it was revealed the parents were never separated from their child, calling it another example of "fake news" and liberal bias.
It represents the over 2,300 children the President has separated them from their parents. You don't fucking care about those brown skinned people who are fleeing murder and torture and rape.
BTW the murder rate is no difference between illegal immigrants or the general population.

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough didn’t mince words Friday morning: He called Donald Trump “openly racist” and said that, by extension, so are his supporters.
In a segment on “Morning Joe,” Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski ripped into the president for his actions.
“You’ve got Charlottesville, where Donald Trump of course defended white supremacists with moral equivalency,” Scarborough said. “Even this year, Donald Trump calling Hispanics ‘breeders.’ Just last week, saying that immigrants coming across the border were, quote, ‘infesting America,’ and no, he wasn’t talking about gang members.”
Scarborough then told Trump supporters they are just as bad as the president regarding racial issues.
“[Trump supporters] cannot say, ’Oh, I’m just supporting him because he’s giving them hell in Washington, D.C.,” Scarborough said. “No, he’s been openly racist, just like we said back in December of 2015, openly racist. If you support him, then you’re supporting that, and you are that. It’s that simple. That’s what we’ve come to now.”
Brzezinski also said the recent immigrant family separations at the border and the administration’s zero tolerance policy are bad for Trump’s image.
“He will be forever remembered as the president who traumatized little children. That’s his brand now,” she said. “He’s the president who purposefully traumatized babies and children, and he traumatized them for his political gain or to look strong or to look like Kim Jong Un.”
However, Brzezinski defended Melania Trump’s jacket — which read “I don’t really care. Do u?” — by introducing an interesting theory.
“You see the first lady trying her best to separate herself from this because she, too, could have been one of those children,” Brzezinski said. “She doesn’t look like them, but she knows this is bad, so she rushes to the border, and who cares what she’s wearing? She probably was talking to her husband.”
Amid the carnage of Republican misrule in Washington, there is this glimmer of good news: The family-shredding policy along the southern border, the most telegenic recent example of misrule, clarified something. Occurring less than 140 days before elections that can reshape Congress, the policy has given independents and temperate Republicans — these are probably expanding and contracting cohorts, respectively — fresh if redundant evidence for the principle by which they should vote.
The principle: The congressional Republican caucuses must be substantially reduced. So substantially that their remnants, reduced to minorities, will be stripped of the Constitution’s Article I powers that they have been too invertebrate to use against the current wielder of Article II powers. They will then have leisure time to wonder why they worked so hard to achieve membership in a legislature whose unexercised muscles have atrophied because of people like them.
Consider the melancholy example of House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (Wis.), who wagered his dignity on the patently false proposition that it is possible to have sustained transactions with today’s president, this Vesuvius of mendacities, without being degraded. In Robert Bolt’s play “A Man for All Seasons,” Thomas More, having angered Henry VIII, is on trial for his life. When Richard Rich, whom More had once mentored, commits perjury against More in exchange for the office of attorney general for Wales, More says: “Why, Richard, it profits a man nothing to give his soul for the whole world . . . But for Wales!” Ryan traded his political soul for . . . a tax cut. He who formerly spoke truths about the accelerating crisis of the entitlement system lost everything in the service of a president pledged to preserve the unsustainable status quo.
Ryan and many other Republicans have become the president’s poodles, not because James Madison’s system has failed but because today’s abject careerists have failed to be worthy of it. As explained in Federalist 51: “Ambition must be made to counteract ambition. The interest of the man must be connected with the constitutional rights of the place.” Congressional Republicans (congressional Democrats are equally supine toward Democratic presidents) have no higher ambition than to placate this president. By leaving dormant the powers inherent in their institution, they vitiate the Constitution’s vital principle: the separation of powers.
Recently Sen. Bob Corker, the Tennessee Republican who is retiring , became an exception that illuminates the depressing rule. He proposed a measure by which Congress could retrieve a small portion of the policymaking power that it has, over many decades and under both parties, improvidently delegated to presidents. Congress has done this out of sloth and timidity — to duck hard work and risky choices. Corker’s measure would have required Congress to vote to approve any trade restrictions imposed in the name of “national security.” All Senate Republicans worthy of the conservative label that all Senate Republicans flaunt would privately admit that this is conducive to sound governance and true to the Constitution’s structure. But the Senate would not vote on it — would not allow it to become just the second amendment voted on this year .
This is because the amendment would have peeved the easily peeved president. The Republican-controlled Congress, which waited for Trump to undo by unilateral decree the border folly they could have prevented by actually legislating, is an advertisement for the unimportance of Republican control.
How trump is killing an industry!!!! How stupid can he go!!!
From the NYTimes....
In the 2016 presidential election, George Skarich, the vice president of sales for the Missouri-based Mid Continent Nail Corporation, voted for Mr. Trump and hoped that he would use his business acumen to supercharge the economy.
The economy is booming, but Mr. Skarich said he was not reaping the benefits. Instead, as a result of Mr. Trump’s trade policies, Mr. Skarich said his nail company may soon be out of business.
Mid Continent, the largest American producer of nails, imports steel from Mexico to make its nails. That steel is now subject to the 25 percent tariffs that Mr. Trump imposed on dozens of countries, forcing Mid Continent to raise its prices by nearly 20 percent.
Orders have plummeted by 50 percent this month as the company tries to compete with cheaper foreign-made nails. Those foreign manufacturers are not facing higher steel costs, giving them an advantage over Mid Continent.
The company, which employs about 500 workers, has already cut 60 jobs. It could potentially cut 200 more in the coming weeks.
While Mr. Trump might propose that Mid Continent simply buy American-made steel, it might not be so simple: Mr. Skarich notes that the cost of American-made metal is much higher than what the company had been importing from Mexico, meaning it would still have to raise prices for its nails if it used domestic steel.
Mr. Skarich, a Republican, has lobbied Senator Claire McCaskill, a Democrat from Missouri, for help.
“He ran on ‘Make America Great Again,’ and the point was to defend and protect jobs in the United States,” Mr. Skarich said. “Now here is an action he decides to take that has the potential to cost 500 U.S. citizens their jobs.” EDITORS’ PICKS

Why Trump Lost Control of the Child-Detention Scandal
Vanity Fair: “The wrenching story of migrant children being separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border has unfolded differently. Trump has been forced to play defense. It’s not just because the policy is cruel, inhumane, and an ugly stain on our country’s moral integrity. It is all of those things. But Trump has done plenty of ugly things. What’s different this time, and the handful of times Trump has found himself losing, is that there are pictures.
“Think of the handful of moments when Trump has been subjected to a sustained drubbing that’s lasted more than just a day or two: the Access Hollywood tape. Sean Spicer’s lie about the size of the inauguration crowd. The massive airport protests around the travel ban. Trump’s “very fine people” comment about neo-Nazi marchers in Charlottesville. The Rob Porter domestic-abuse allegations fiasco. (Porter has denied the allegations.) And now the gross panorama of migrant children being separated from their desperate parents. All of these stories were accompanied by images—pictures or video—that either tilted public opinion against the president or blatantly contradicted the dubious claims of Trump and his allies.”
New York Times: “Mr. Trump, who campaigned on a get-tough approach to trade, has said his tariffs would make trade pacts more fair and ultimately help American workers, farmers, manufacturers and other. But the situation could soon become politically perilous to Mr. Trump, whose trade policies are starting to inflict economic pain across the country, including in areas that are home to the voters who helped him win election.
“Business owners across the country are fearing the worst and wondering if Mr. Trump, who calls himself a master negotiator, will get the better end of the deal. Here are the ways several American products are being affected.” LISTED IN ARTICLE.
New Yorker: “Trump’s ability to gin up fears about illegal immigration, more than perhaps any other issue, won him the White House. Headed into a midterm election that will be won by the political party that can better rally its base, Trump has remained determined to talk about immigration, even when others in his party have resisted. Indeed, Republican leaders on Capitol Hill were furious with Trump as the immigration controversy spiraled out of control this week—a time they had planned to spend celebrating the G.O.P. tax cut, along with the general strength of the economy, which they hope to make the centerpiece of their fall campaign.
“On Monday, as the political pressure on Trump was escalating, I met with Kristen Soltis Anderson, a Republican pollster who has advised G.O.P. leaders about this fall’s elections at a couple of recent retreats. Trump, she told me, had a ‘freakishly stable’ approval rating; in such a polarized moment, people know where they stand on the President. She said that, unlike in previous midterm elections in which the incumbent President’s party has done poorly, voter enthusiasm for Trump has remained strong among Republican voters, even as a blue wave of Trump-hating Democrats has been building.”
Said Anderson: “The question is, if the blue wave is coming, have Republicans built a large enough wall to stop it?” _____________

RATING FALSE
ORIGIN On 22 June 2018, in the middle of a family separation crisis caused by the Trump administration’s botched “zero tolerance” policy, United States President Donald Trump himself recycled a claim that undocumented immigrants committed an abnormally large number of homicides in the United States.
“Sixty-three thousand Americans since 9/11 have been killed by illegal aliens,” the president said. “This isn’t a problem that’s going away, it’s getting bigger.”
Not only is there no evidence for his claim, it would require a seemingly superhuman murder spree by the nation’s roughly 11 million undocumented immigrants.
The event was held amid a cascade of public outcry against internment camps established by the government for undocumented children, which prompted the Trump administration to quickly change course and order undocumented families to be held together — while seeking the ability to do so indefinitely. But while the president accused reporters of failing to cover this alleged rash of homicides, the numbers do not support this claim.

But while the president accused reporters of failing to cover this alleged rash of homicides, the numbers do not support this claim.
According to data provided for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there have been 260,743 homicides in the United States from 2002 through 2016 (the most recent year available.) It thus seems mathematically impossible that undocumented immigrants, who make up roughly 3 percent of the population, would have committed just under a quarter of all homicides in the United States during that time period. The bogus figure appears to have originated in a May 2006 post by Republican Rep. Steve King of Iowa complaining about the “Day Without An Immigrant” campaign calling attention to the contributions of immigrants to U.S. community.
Without undocumented immigrants, he said, no one would smuggle drugs across the U.S.-Mexico border, and non-immigrants would be safer:
The lives of 12 U.S. citizens would be saved who otherwise die a violent death at the hands of murderous illegal aliens each day. Another 13 Americans would survive who are otherwise killed each day by uninsured drunk driving illegals. Our hospital emergency rooms would not be flooded with everything from gunshot wounds, to anchor babies, to imported diseases to hangnails, giving American citizens the day off from standing in line behind illegals. Eight American children would not suffer the horror as a victim of a sex crime.
A rate of 33 “deaths” per day for the roughly 4.5 years between the 9/11 attacks and the publication of King’s unsubstantiated claim would come out to 48,180 deaths in total, a rate that would far surpass the 63,000 number by 2018 — if it was legitimate.
Three years later, in 2009, King (who has a history of racist public statements) misrepresented a report from the Government Accountability Office, claiming that 25,064 undocumented immigrants had been arrested for homicides between 2004 and 2008. In fact, the statistic covered the time period between August 1955 and April 2010, a difference of nearly 51 years. The first, fraudulent timeframe would work out to about 17 arrests per day; the real timeframe works out to approximately 1.25 arrests of undocumented people for homicide per day, or 456 arrests per year.
If we multiply that figure by eighteen just to be generous (11 September 2001 to 22 June 2018), we get a final figure of about 8,218 arrests, as opposed to the faulty metric, which yields a total of around 112,790 homicide arrests in the same timeframe. (We will, for now, ignore the fact that arrests are not the same as convictions, and note that we did not factor in leap days.) So the numbers in the claim fall flat on both the amount of murders committed and the arrests and convictions made in those murders.
He held an emotional moment yesterday and used grieving families to support his lie. He's a heartless hypocrite .
Trump’s Immigration Policies Are Actually Pretty Popular
"Media coverage of the Trump administration’s policy of arresting people who illegally cross the border has been almost uniformly negative. Some has been downright hysterical. A new Economist/YouGov poll shows, however, that the vast majority of Americans polled support either President Trump’s executive order, the initial enforcement of the law that resulted in family separation, or something even stricter.
A CNN contributor said Trump’s border enforcement policies were akin to the Holocaust. A Washington Post writer said they were more like slavery. An MSNBC contributor said border enforcement was racist. A CNBC contributor said the same. Outrage blanketed the airwaves. Few explained why they didn’t care much or at all about child detention centers during the Obama administration." ... "It turned out that media apparently got the story of the sobbing toddler all sorts of wrong. And while newsrooms are in lockstep agreement that they oppose strong border enforcement, that view is not popular among the rest of the country.
When asked which policy they prefer for how to handle families that are stopped for crossing the border illegally, two-thirds of the 1,500 surveyed said they support detention for lawbreakers and less than 20 percent responded that they support previous presidential administrations’ policy of letting the lawbreakers enter the country with a promise to return for a later court date. The poll was taken June 17-19, at the height of media outrage over the policy.
When given a choice for how to handle illegal border crossing arrests, some 44 percent of Americans chose “hold families together in family detention centers until an immigration hearing at a later date.” Another 20 percent of U.S. adults chose detention options that would separate families. Only 19 percent chose to return to the policy of allowing people who cross the border illegally to go without detention on the promise they’d return for a court hearing at a later date.
The Economist/YouGov poll shows an American electorate fare more serious about border enforcement than what the media conversation would indicate. For instance, more Americans support treating the illegal crossing of the border as a criminal matter than a civil matter." https://thefederalist.com/2018/06/22/trumps-immigration-policies-are-actually-pretty-popular/
Wilkerson told MacCallum how her son was carjacked and killed by a illegal alien brought by his parents at the age of ten.
“He needed Josh’s truck to scrap for some money,” said Wilkerson. “He beat him in the head with a closet rod so hard it broke in four pieces. He kicked him until his spleen sliced and he strangled him over and over and over again until he didn’t breathe anymore. Then he tied him up like an animal and put him in a field and set him on fire. This is forever. I know they don’t understand the meaning of suffering. We will suffer for the rest of our lives on this Earth.”

This is what separates my son and myself is a coffin and six feet of dirt. How is that for real separation of families?”

Criminal aliens — non-citizens who commit crimes — are a growing threat to public safety and national security, as well as a drain on our scarce criminal justice resources. In 1980, our federal and state prisons housed fewer than 9,000 criminal aliens.1 Today, about 55,000 criminal aliens account for more than one-fourth of prisoners in Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities, and there are about 297,000 criminal aliens incarcerated in state and local prisons. That number represents about 16.4 percent of the state and local prison population compared to the 12.9 percent of the total population comprised of foreign-born residents.
Why don't you supply the data you say shows otherwise?
So Dennis has no sympathy for victims of illegal aliens.
it's the same with corporal alky. he'd support millions of americans dying at the hands of illegals if it meant returning democrats to power. it's always party before country for these depraved cocksuckers.

Former Sex and the City star turned gubernatorial candidate for New York Cynthia Nixon has called the Immigration Customs and Enforcement agency (ICE) a “terrorist organization”
Now its tom arnold threatening 11 year old barron trump. Can you imagine if the gop did that to Obama's kids??
This has got to stop! But dems appear ok with it. This is why dems will lose again. Its damn disgusting.
Concentration camps.

George Will a real Republican.
Vote Democrat in November
Next roger will tell us how wonderful bill kristol is.

“Now here is an action he decides to take that has the potential to cost 500 U.S. citizens their jobs.”

Trump Reverses Himself on North Korea Threat
President Trump told Congress in a letter that North Korea’s “provocative, destabilizing, and repressive actions… continue to constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat” to the United States, the Daily Beast reports.
The letter comes just over a week after Trump boasted on Twitter that there “is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea” and that “everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office.”
_______________
So everybody can feel much less safe than the day he took office.
Trump’s Trade War Is Starting to Hurt Americans
Can Trump Use Immigration to Stop a Blue Wave?
Said Anderson: “The question is, if the blue wave is coming, have Republicans built a large enough wall to stop it?”

I don't think so.

CLAIM
Undocumented immigrants have killed 63,000 U.S. citizens since 9/11.
RATING
FALSE
ORIGIN
On 22 June 2018, in the middle of a family separation crisis caused by the Trump administration’s botched “zero tolerance” policy, United States President Donald Trump himself recycled a claim that undocumented immigrants committed an abnormally large number of homicides in the United States.

Few explained why they didn’t care much or at all about child detention centers during the Obama administration."
...
For instance, more Americans support treating the illegal crossing of the border as a criminal matter than a civil matter."

The criminal alien problem is growing
Typical.
