WASHINGTON — Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, on Friday announced new charges against 12 Russian intelligence officers accused of hacking the Democratic National Committee, the Clinton presidential campaign and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The announcement came just a few days before President Trump is expected to meet with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia in Helsinki, Finland.
The 11-count indictment includes charges of conspiracy by the Russian intelligence officials against the United States, money laundering and attempts to break into state boards of elections and other government agencies.
The indictment is part of the special counsel’s investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential campaign.
"There is no allegation in this indictment that any American citizen committed a crime. There is no allegation that the conspiracy changed the vote count or affected any election result."

Today we learned that the special counsel, Robert Mueller, has obtained indictments charging that 12 Russian military intelligence officers engaged in a conspiracy to subvert our democracy. The indictments demonstrate that Mr. Mueller, the Department of Justice and a federal grand jury agree with a conclusion that the intelligence community, the Senate Intelligence Committee and a majority of Americans long ago reached: The Russian government was unambiguously responsible for the attack on our election. The direct and specific evidence of Russian interference laid out in the indictment — both by hacking into Democratic Party accounts and into actual state election commissions — is immensely significant.
On June 27th the same day Trump said the Russians should go get the Russians to try and hack the Clinton emails is the day the Russians initiated the attack on the Clinton campaign. The infamous June 26th Gold Tower meeting happened to get dirt on Clinton.

Can we get a standing O for the 2016 Loser. "Friday during a speech to the American Federation of Teachers, 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh makes her “worry” the Republican Party wants to turn back the clock “to the 1850s.” Clinton said, “Let me say a word about the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. This nomination holds out the threat of devastating consequences for workers’ rights, civil rights, LGBT rights, women’s rights, including those to make out own health decisions. It is a blatant attempt by this administration to shift the balance of the Court for decades and to reverse decades of progress.”
This is funny . "During the news conference alongside British Prime Minister Theresa May, when CNN’s Jim Acosta attempted to ask a question, Trump responded, “CNN is fake news. I don't take questions from CNN.”
Time to go golf Mr. President at your own golf course and resort.
The timeline of the entire Russia election hacking affair would be several yards long, so how about if we just do a short, focused one? Here you go: Summer 2014: The Dutch intelligence service, AIVD, breaks into the network of the Russian hacker group Cozy Bear. AIVD can see everything the Russians do. Summer 2015: AIVD watches as the Russians begin their efforts to hack into DNC servers and the email accounts of Democratic Party leaders. April 2016: Natalia Veselnitskaya, a Putin confidant and one of the most active Russian advocates for repealing sanctions imposed by the Magnitsky Act, meets with Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R–Calif.) in Moscow. Veselnitskaya gives Rohrabacher a memo alleging that major Clinton campaign donors have evaded taxes on some of their Russian investments. Rep. French Hill (R–Arkansas) gets a copy of the same memo. June 3: Donald Trump Jr. receives an email from Rob Goldstone, a promoter who helped Donald Trump bring the 2013 Miss Universe Pageant to Moscow. Goldstone writes that a mutual friend has been given access to “official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.”
17 minutes later: Trump Jr. replies that “if it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer.” June 9: Natalia Veselnitskaya meets at Trump Tower with Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, and other members of the Trump team. Later they all tell various lies about what was discussed until evidence leaks that contradicts them. June 22: Wikileaks sends an email to the Russian hackers, who are publicly posing as Guccifer 2.0, asking them to “[s]end any new material [stolen from the DNC] here for us to review and it will have a much higher impact than what you are doing.” A few days later Wikileaks makes another request: “if you have anything hillary related we want it in the next tvveo [sic] days prefable [sic] because the DNC [Democratic National Convention] is approaching and she will solidify bernie supporters behind her after…we think trump has only a 25% chance of winning against hillary . . . so conflict between bemie and hillary is interesting.” A month later, shortly before the Democratic convention starts, Wikileaks releases the Russian trove of DNC emails. July 27: While the Democratic convention is in progress, Donald Trump suggests he’s open to recognizing Russian control of Crimea and then says, “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find” Hillary Clinton’s missing 30,000 emails.
Later the same day: Russian hackers begin their first attempt to break into Clinton’s email server.
October-November 2016: The Russians never find Clinton’s emails, but they do find John Podesta’s. These are turned over to Wikileaks, which releases them in 33 installments during the closing weeks of the campaign.

What did the President know and when did he know it?
Stone, a longtime associate of President Donald Trump and political figure, acknowledged to CNN that an exchange in the indictment matches messages he previously released, but initially maintained that he did not believe that he is the unnamed person in the indictment. Stone said the messages "don't provide any evidence of collaboration or collusion." The indictment states that on Aug. 15, 2016, and again on Sept. 9, Russian officers posing as Guccifer 2.0 "wrote a person who was in r6egular contact with senior members" of the Trump campaign, with language that matches Twitter messages previously released by Stone, who is not named in the indictment.
In his interview later Friday with Cuomo, Stone that he "misunderstood the reference."
"I never denied that it was me, I just didn't understand the earlier reference," Stone said.
Thanks for proving my post was and is correct. No regular series of meetings between Stone and Guccifer, just a Twitter "exchange" as I provided. TDS for sure, maybe something drug related also.
“In today’s press conference, I paused while my colleague from CNN went back and forth with President Trump over a question,” Roberts said. “When it became clear that the president wasn’t going to entertain a question from him, I proceeded with my question, as did my fellow colleagues in the press corps.” Roberts went on to defend NBC News correspondents Kristen Welker, who Trump called “dishonest” during the same press conference for asking about his contentious relationship with NATO allies. “She is honest as the day is long,” Robert said of Welker. “For the President to call her dishonest is unfair.”
“I also used to work at CNN,” he added. “There are some fine journalists who work there and risk their lives to report on stories around the world. To issue a blanket condemnation of the network as ‘fake news’ is also unfair.”
Blogger Roger Amick said... Trump will never have his " Mr Gorbachev tear down that wall" moment with Trump.

The Washington Post‘s Christopher Ingraham is the latest reporter to tweet erroneous information about President Donald Trump, only to provide a (much less viral) clarification after a fact check spoiled his fantasy of “out in the open” Russian collusion.
Ingraham, a data reporter for the Jeff Bezos-owned newspaper, claimed Russian hackers first targeted members of the Clinton campaign following candidate Trump’s joke about retrieving the former Secretary of State’s deleted emails. Ingraham made this connection based on a passage in the Justice Department’s indictment of 12 Russian intelligence operatives.
“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Trump quipped during a July 27, 2016 press conference. Ingraham saw that same date in the indictment PDF and leaped into action to connect the dots (which the Special Counsel did not): “that evening, Russian operatives targeted Clinton campaign emails ‘for the first time.'”
Ingraham then laid out the conspiracy theory, in case anyone missed the implication: “Trump called on Russia to hack the Clinton campaign, and they did.”
[...]
Less than 10 minutes after Ingraham’s faux-discovery, Vox reporter Andrew Prokop corrected Ingraham, noting the indictment actually states the alleged hackers launched spearphishing attacks against more than 30 Clinton campaign staffers on April 6, 2016. Prokop further noted Donald Trump’s joke was about Hillary Clinton’s missing emails from her personal, unsecured server used for State Department business — not those of her presidential campaign.
Yeah, we have him screaming RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA and the other even lighter lightweight ASSHOLE, ASSHOLE, ASSHOLE, while being led by the nose with FAKE NEWS they continuously blindly swallow.
Lot's of apparent evidence of collusion and criminal activity by the DNC and Clinton campaigns. Silence from the left.
the truth is, 0linsky conspired with the russians more thsan trump ever even thought of doing
First things are that you can't comprehend what the report says because you can't read it so you rely upon a crazy right wing websites for your opinion.
The Obama administration never had sex with Vladimir Putin. Trump is going to give him a Lewinsky job.
He actually has the opportunity to force Putin to publicly admit he directed his intelligence agencies attacked our election. But he doesn't care.
To admit that the Russians were meddling in the election he will feel that his administration isn't valid because he needed the Russians help.
He's never going to tell him to stop or face financial distress.
He actually has the opportunity to force Putin to publicly admit he directed his intelligence agencies attacked our election.
to what end, genius?
putin can either deny it, which i expect he will...
...or he can admit to it and challenge us to do something about it.
then what?
you really need to think this shit through, alky. i know that's nearly impossible for you considering how much you rely upon copy/pasting the opinions of others, but you really should give it a try sometime.
Trump has the opportunity to bluntly call out Putin. And to threaten dire financial consequences on the Russian economy. Cease and desist or pay the consequences.
The "best negotiator" in history won't do anything like that.
he did. so did the lil toolbag from the wapo. when a juicebox mafia queef from vox ends up correcting you, you're a goddamned idiot on stilts.
the alky and the little band of asshats that inform him are so desperate to get trump, they're getting sloppy and making themselves look bad. or they're just lying. either way, they look like idiots.
Blogger Roger Amick said... Trump has the opportunity to bluntly call out Putin. And to threaten dire financial consequences on the Russian economy. Cease and desist or pay the consequences.
fuckstick,
we already have sanctions on russia:
Almost 700 Russian people and companies are under U.S. sanctions. Individuals face limits on their travel and freezes on at least some of their assets, while some top Russian state banks and companies, including oil and gas giants, are effectively barred from getting financing through U.S. banks and markets. They include billionaires such as Oleg Deripaska and Viktor Vekselberg; close political allies of Putin including his former chief of staff, Sergei Ivanov, and Dmitry Rogozin, a deputy prime minister from 2011 to 2018; and corporate titans such as Rosneft PJSC, Gazprom PJSC, Sberbank PJSC and VTB Group.
The "coincidence" of the 30,000 emails comment and the Russians attack on the DNC was just a "coincidence"! is a fact.
they got multiple things wrong, alky.
first, i wouldn't call it an attack alky. podesta got phished. he gave them his fucking password. from there it was easy.
second, if the attack was so serious, why didn't the DNC engage the authorities instead of crowdstrike to find out what happened. the FBI IT forensics team exists just for things like this.
third, trump was referring to hillary's PRIVATE SERVER. you know, the one with all her "yoga for aging, fat alcoholics" emails and chelsea's wedding plans.
like i said, you idiots are so eager to get trump you're making some very basic mistakes.
WASHINGTON — It was one of the more outlandish statements in a campaign replete with them: In a news conference in July 2016, Donald J. Trump made a direct appeal to Russia to hack Hillary Clinton’s emails and make them public.
“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Mr. Trump said, referring to emails Mrs. Clinton had deleted from the private account she had used when she was secretary of state. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”
As it turns out, that same day, the Russians — whether they had tuned in or not — made their first effort to break into the servers used by Mrs. Clinton’s personal office, according to a sweeping 29-page indictment unsealed Friday by the special counsel’s office that charged 12 Russians with election hacking.
Trump Invited the Russians to Hack Clinton. Were They Listening? https://nyti.ms/2mj2WJI
Strzok made his statements about nine hours into Thursday’s televised congressional hearing during a section in which he was explaining his infamous August 2016 text message referencing an “insurance policy” in the event that Trump wins the election.
“The insurance policy text that has come up before?” began Strzok. “That text represented a debate on information that we had received from an extraordinarily sensitive source and method and that typically when something is that sensitive if you take action on it you put it at risk. And so there is a tension there. Maybe we should just roll slow. Take a typical 3, 4-year counterintelligence investigation because the more aggressive you are the more you put it at risk. And some people said that.”
Strzok went on to claim that Trump’s poll numbers played a role in internal FBI conversations about the speed of the investigation, with he himself arguing for an aggressive investigation when others were advocating for less aggressive tactics.
He stated:
Some people said, hey, look. Every poll is saying candidate Trump is likely not to win. Every Republican was saying that. Some people said as a result of that let’s not risk the source. Let’s go slow. But I indicated for them. What I am saying is. Look, we are the FBI. We need to do our job. We need to investigate.
While it isn’t likely according to all the pollsters and everybody that candidate Trump is elected, we need to make sure we are protecting America. We need to responsibly and aggressively investigate these actions, because you know what, if candidate Trump is elected, there might be people we need to be investigating that might be nominated for important security positions. Everybody in America would want to know that. Candidate Trump would want to know that.
It is not the traditional role of the FBI to formulate investigations based on poll numbers." Obama, lynch, Comey all knew.
I see Roger has continued to just cut-and-paste fake news.
Here is the actual indictment:
https://www.justice.gov/file/1080281/download
Try reading it and you will see how wrong you and your FAKE NEWS sources are, specifically Count One, points 3-5. But you are obviously living in a bubble and don't want any reality. Guess FAKE NEWS gives you comfort. But no need to copy that shit here, we know better.
Trump Invited the Russians to Hack Clinton. Were They Listening?
LOL. you guys are fucking pathetic. every sane person in america knew trump was cracking a joke, and your case is so thin you need to try and parlay that joke into a serious issue.
The night of Hillary's defeat she fail to man up and come out and actually concede the election to Trump. That was a defining moment . Then she launch the #resistwemuch bs. And the deep state launch the " Witch hunt" that Trump Colluded with Putin.
So what is next, 25th Amendment-nope Impeachmentioned - never Move from within to remove him on mental illness- not. The pussy hats and cunt marches were fun to watch but did nada.
One way the GRU officers engaged with the public and key specific Americans was via the persona they created on Twitter called "Guccifer 2.0." That persona was used to "release additional stolen documents through a website maintained by an organization ('Organization 1'), that had previously posted documents stolen from U.S. persons, entities and the U.S. government."
If the Russians dealt with WikiLeaks directly, however, what the indictment does not address is whether founder Julian Assange or others involved knew that was the case. The U.S. intelligence community considers WikiLeaks to be a "hostile intelligence service," but WikiLeaks and Assange weren't part of the indictment on Friday.
Does that mean they won't be charged? Or do Mueller, Rosenstein and the Justice Department have more in store down the line?
Money laundering
There have been informal indications — but few solid leads — that laundering money might have been another part of Russia's attack on the 2016 election.
Wealthy Russians might have simply flown cash into the United States, according to some suggestions. Or, as Mueller's office has now documented, the Russians might have used cryptocurrencies.
The GRU officers in Friday's indictment used bitcoin, the famous high-value, decentralized electronic currency, to pay for the computer network infrastructure they used in their cyberattack. The GRU laundered more than $95,000 "through a web of transactions," including with bitcoin, to pay for virtual private networks, servers and suchlike.
The confirmation that clandestine money flows were a part of the Russian attack on the election raises more questions about whether the GRU or other Russian spy agencies might have contributed money to American political campaigns or organizations, perhaps via "straw donors."
The Americans The explosive political question within the United States remains whether any Americans were involved with the Russian active measures. The latest answer is yes — but the special counsel's office says that in this indictment, none of the Americans knew they were involved.
"A person who was in regular contact with senior members of the presidential campaign of Donald J. Trump" communicated with the GRU officers posing as Guccifer 2.0, the indictment says. So did a "candidate for the U.S. Congress." So did journalists.
And the indictment suggests that on July 27, 2016, when Trump said, "Russia, if you're listening," it should find Clinton's deleted emails, the Russians were listening.
The time of the comments look very suspicious.
On that day, according to the court papers, the GRU officers "attempted after hours to spear-phish for the first time email accounts at a domain hosted by a third-party provider and used by Clinton's personal office." They also pinged 76 emails associated with the Clinton campaign.
The next report is going to contain the American contacts.
Sure. You thought the whole thing was a hoax. But now it's not important that a hostile foreign government attacked our election system to support your candidate.
President Trump's response to the indictments — which again does not deal with the ongoing threat to our democracy posed by the Russians but instead (wrongly) seeks to exonerate the president from his involvement in this affair — confirms the wisdom of their actions.
This is an extraordinary moment. It is without equal not only in American history but in modern history. A hostile foreign power intervened in our election to help elect a man president who has since actively served their interests and has defended them at every turn.
His defense of the leader of the country that made a vigorous effort to affect the election is a high crime and a misdemeanor.
The hypocrisy is evident in every response to the intervention of our most vulnerable right as Americans to have a free and fair election by the President and the usual suspects here don't care that the Russians attempted to influence the election.
Whether or not that it influenced the outcome of the election is irrelevant. The fact that the Russians DID attack our most vulnerable right in the Constitution should have both sides should be outraged by the President and his defense of Vladimir Putin's intervention into the election.
But the cultists ignore the Russians intervention in favor of the President.
So under Obama the Russians hacked the DNC and Hillary and he did nothing other than telling them to stop it. Then afterwards Trump cracks a joke about the Russians hack and the emails Hillary can't produce under subpoena and now that is treasonous according to the TDS chump.
We will never know if it influenced the outcome of the election. That is meaningless. The very fact that the Russians were aggressively targeting Clinton in support of Trump. If you weren't just partisan hacks and were truly Americans you would be ashamed of the President who has been giving Russia everything they want. An unstable American country and a President who wants to dismantle NATO and the western alliance that has prevented another World War.
Oh my goodness. I knew that something was going on with your defense of Donald Trump and his love of Putin. He tweeted today what you were told to say!
The stories you heard about the 12 Russians yesterday took place during the Obama Administration, not the Trump Administration. Why didn’t they do something about it, especially when it was reported that President Obama was informed by the FBI in September, before the Election?
"Why didn’t they do something about it, especially when it was reported that President Obama was informed by the FBI in September, before the Election" ___________________ Good question.

The Ten Steps
The timeline of the entire Russia election hacking affair would be several yards long, so how about if we just do a short, focused one? Here you go:
Summer 2014: The Dutch intelligence service, AIVD, breaks into the network of the Russian hacker group Cozy Bear.
17 minutes later: Trump Jr. replies that “if it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer.”
June 9: Natalia Veselnitskaya meets at Trump Tower with Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, and other members of the Trump team.

Stone said the messages "don't provide any evidence of collaboration or collusion."
The indictment states that on Aug.
The cowardly Queen way is wrong here as usual.

“In today’s press conference, I paused while my colleague from CNN went back and forth with President Trump over a question,” Roberts said. “When it became clear that the president wasn’t going to entertain a question from him, I proceeded with my question, as did my fellow colleagues in the press corps.”
Roberts went on to defend NBC News correspondents Kristen Welker, who Trump called “dishonest” during the same press conference for asking about his contentious relationship with NATO allies.

Indictments 1 day before the summit, no coencidence there..
Probably But I believe Rosenstein when he said he briefed Trump on the indictments before he left.
Because blindsiding him with these indictments before he meets with Putin would have given Trump every justification in the world to fire him.
So the question is what long game is Trump playing?
On the face of it this is a stupid indictment. It would be like Russia trying to charge our CIA agents in absentia.
Much better to keep it quite and launch covert cyber war fare.

He's never going to tell him to stop or face financial distress.

fuckstick,
we already have sanctions on russia:
Almost 700 Russian people and companies are under U.S. sanctions. Individuals face limits on their travel and freezes on at least some of their assets, while some top Russian state banks and companies, including oil and gas giants, are effectively barred from getting financing through U.S. banks and markets. They include billionaires such as Oleg Deripaska and Viktor Vekselberg; close political allies of Putin including his former chief of staff, Sergei Ivanov, and Dmitry Rogozin, a deputy prime minister from 2011 to 2018; and corporate titans such as Rosneft PJSC, Gazprom PJSC, Sberbank PJSC and VTB Group.

they got multiple things wrong, alky.
first, i wouldn't call it an attack alky. podesta got phished. he gave them his fucking password. from there it was easy.
second, if the attack was so serious, why didn't the DNC engage the authorities instead of crowdstrike to find out what happened. the FBI IT forensics team exists just for things like this.
third, trump was referring to hillary's PRIVATE SERVER. you know, the one with all her "yoga for aging, fat alcoholics" emails and chelsea's wedding plans.

The fact that the Russians were unable to hack into the Clinton campaign servers is meaningless. The timing is not a coincidence.

It may also be said to Ole Roger , Bless his Heart.
The DNC has voted to give Bernie Sanders and NY 15 Chic greater access to Winning in 2020.
It is not the traditional role of the FBI to formulate investigations based on poll numbers."

The Americans
The explosive political question within the United States remains whether any Americans were involved with the Russian active measures.
"The next report is going to contain the American contacts."
Sure.
"The next report is going to contain the American contacts."
Ok, "new shoe". Gotta ya.
Sure. You thought the whole thing was a hoax. But now it's not important that a hostile foreign government attacked our election system to support your candidate.

Roger, who was President and failed to Protect and Defend the US Constitution vested Election?
ROFLMFAO
Ok, now Trump a life long Democrat is to be charged with Treason.
New shoe?
"There is no allegation that the conspiracy changed the vote count or affected any election result."
Rod Rosenstein
We will never know if it influenced the outcome of the election. That is meaningless. The very fact that the Russians were aggressively targeting Clinton in support of Trump. If you weren't just partisan hacks and were truly Americans you would be ashamed of the President who has been giving Russia everything they want. An unstable American country and a President who wants to dismantle NATO and the western alliance that has prevented another World War.
The Obama administration aggressively targeted the Russian hackers. Look it up you dip shits.
