A simple question this fine Monday morning...

Should Americans accused of a crime still be allowed the constitutional protections of due process and the presumption of innocence?

Yes, unqualified, Yes.

Yes, you know the presumptions if innocents is deeply imbedded in Judeo-Christian law. Where the severest punishments were for those who beared false witness. And an accuser was required to present at least three witnesses to support the accusation.

In the Justice system, absolutely because it is a Constitutional right.

In politics it is a matter of choice of whom to believe. The standard of reasonable doubt does not apply .

so in other words...

The heck with due process and presumption of innocence.

If it serves a political purpose to ignore it, then you ignore it.

Good to know. Democrats see politics as above constitutional protections.

Trump is undermining fundamental institutional norms of the Republic. Also We must do away with the Senate, electoral college & the Supreme Court is now illegitimate. Same exact people.

And now Roger is arguing politics has no bounds. Democratic party = no morals, unbound by law.

Unbelievable.

Everything Democrats said about Kavanaugh reeks of pure undiluted totalitarianism, especially insane formulations like "all women must believe Ford" or "supporting Kavanaugh is an attack on all rape survivors." That's another way of saying dissent is criminal.

Democrats see politics as above constitutional protections.

of course they do. and the reason is very simple. democrats politicize absolutely everything.

as i watched the thursday hearing last week i experienced a range of emotions but surprise was not one of them. to me it was completely unsurprising that democrats sunk as low as they did, and behaved as ghastly as they did.

this is why i despise these people. they will destroy anyone and anything to achieve their political goals. NOTHING is off limits or above reproach for these scumbags.

and the fact that the alky applauds the behavior is the least surprising thing of all.

My comments were based upon the law.

Politicians make accusations every day. They don't have to meet the standards of a legal prosecution. Trump falsely accused Barack Obama of being born in Kenya. He would have been illegally elected.

Did you ever make any demands on the candidate Trump to follow the constitutional protections of due process and the presumption of innocence?

This is not a political campaign it's an appoitment to the Supreme Court and defaming a nominee with unfounded (and very likely false) alligations of sexual assult is the most immoral and damaging thing a politician can do.

That's why Democrats will dearly pay at the polls.

Americans are a decent people and the saw an indecent circus of character assiassination right before their eyes. Of course they are going to punish those responsible.

Not really worth responding to. No equivalence whatsoever to the Kavanaugh smear and destroy campaign.

Shameful to even act like there's a comparison. I can't believe they can go any lower but then again they are Democrats.

So by your own argument... I guess Obama should have been tossed off the ballot because he was accused of something.

Or do accusations only matter if they attack a conservative?

Not to Mention, Roger...

The USSC is not political, and Brett Kavanaugh is not a politician.

ah, but that's where you're wrong in the eyes of a liberal.

to a liberal the USSC is inherently political and the justices are, above all else, politicians.

this is why the USSC is so important to liberals and the freak out was on the scale that it was. when the courts are your only means to getting your agenda made into law, it's why the courts are so crucial. there's a reason that harry reid helped 0linsky pack the lower courts with liberal hacks. the courts are critical to the survival of the liberal agenda. if that were not true, the whole kavanaugh situation wouldn't have mattered that much.

the alky doesn't know much, but he knows this.
