- Apparently Diane Feinstein is the first Democrat to publicly state that the FBI report should remain sealed and not provided to the public?
- Cory Booker has shifted gears and suggested that no matter what the FBI report states, that Kavanaugh should not be confirmed.
- Other Democrats are suggesting that the FBI report on the sexual assault allegations will be insufficient to make a call on Kavanaugh.
- Lastly, the focus has shifted from sexual allegations to teenage drinking.
Perhaps it's just me, but it would seem to me that the Democrats are starting to see the writing on the wall here. While they demanded an FBI investigation, what they always wanted was delay. They certainly never actually wanted a relevant investigation (narrowed to the allegations) that would likely do more to clear Kavanaugh than harm him.
The reality is that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the FBI would not be able to substantiate any of these claims brought forth. If they come back with a report that fails to do so, that puts pressure on the fence sitters (including the red state Democrats) to do what they suggested they would.
Which of course is to vote for confirmation.

It just me but I think that both sides are playing games. Keeping the report secret as suggested by the Democrats want to give the impression that they are not playing politics.
The President and the Republicans will be more likely to leak tightly edited data from the FBI report

utter horseshit. look, i know you are desperate to find some moral equivalence here to cover your hypocrisy like a cat cover's a turd in a litter box, but that's just not true.
in fact, the exact opposite IS true. grassley and his staff have smacked down several efforts by the left to play games. thankfully grassley is having none of it.
times up alky.
time to vote.
and win or lose, i hope the GOP has the courage to go after ford, her lawyers, and every other liar starring in this charade and fucking destroy them - legally, financially, personally, in every way possible. iow, give them a taste of the treatment kavanaugh received.
and as for feinstein? she deserves to die in prison.
Funny how when the republicans do something wrong, its all them. When the democrats do it, its both sides.
This is more crap from the dems. The country is recognizing it finally.

do you know something we don't?
is dianne feinstein switching party's?
sorry dumbass, but there is probably sensitive info and identities contained within the FBI report. grassley and the white house will protect that.
if it leaks it'll leak like leaks have been happening since before the inauguration - the FBI will leak it to democrats.
The job of Picking the female lawyer to question Dr Cray Cray has turned out to be pure genius.
The questions asked locked Dr Cray Cray down. No wiggle room.
You all believe that the FBI/DOJ are nothing more than politically motivated Democrats who are out to get the President.
If there are no leaks from the FBI report it will be because the Democrats have nothing to leak.
Pure genius
hypocrisy like a cat cover's a turd in a litter box, but that's just not true.

well alky, when there's a preponderance of evidence that all points in one direction, you follow it to where it takes you. don't blame us. blame the FBI.
and btw, the FBI has been corrupt for most of my life. the only thing that's changed is their target. like your personal "greatest american of the 20th century" hero MLK Jr. j. edgar fruitypants spied on him for YEARS.
why you defend these corrupt cocksuckers if you really do revere MLK Jr. that much is a mystery to me.
Not any more. Most of them are gone.
btw rog, while you might not even realize it, your biggest problem right now is the ever increasing likely fallout from this confirmation debacle that will benefit the GOP. i've never seen anything energize the base like this. this will affect voter turnout and fundraising in a big way. the only question is exactly how big. people on our side are fucking PISSED. i know folks who never turn out for anything other than a presidential election voting in this year's mid-term. their reason is that their vote won't matter, and in that they're right. schumer and gillibrand are a lock for re-election, as is our sleazeball rep paul tonko. but these folks are going to vote anyway ON PRINCIPLE. that's how riled up they are.
i'd actually like to see CH put a post with his thoughts on voter turnout for the mid-terms. could be interesting.
The donks have shot their wad. When Amy Coney Barrett is nominated to take the late RBG vacant seat. The R's should ram her through

indeed.
given the chance, i'd like to see cocaine mitch assemble a schedule for all 100 senators to interview barrett. one hour each. and if you pull some flagrantly obvious bullshit like tester did when he couldn't fit kavanaugh into his schedule, then you forfeit your interview slot. #fuckyou
once all the interviews are complete, call for a vote. no hearings, no circus, no grandstanding, no spartacus presidential campaign performances.
hold the vote.
confirm and seat barrett.
then i get to go to my grave (or close to it) knowing that the constitution will be safe for the remainder of my lifetime.
