Scott up in Florida in the two most recent polls.

In other contests, incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson is locked in a virtual tie with GOP Gov. Rick Scott in the U.S. Senate race; Scott has a 1½-point lead over Nelson.   florida-southern-college-poll

In the race for U.S. Senate, who would you vote for: Republican Rick Scott or Democrat Bill Nelson? StPetePolls_2018_GovSenate_Oct16.pdf
Rick Scott: 48.6%
Bill Nelson: 47.2%

_______

Rick Scott seems to have been buoyed a little bit by a positive reaction from Floridians to his response to the latest hurricane to hit Florida. His numbers were especially positive in the panhandle, which was hard hit, and a Republican stronghold.

This is one of those potential GOP pickups that the Democrats can ill afford to give up. With the manner in which the Senate is made up, Democrats must continue to dominate purple states (like Florida) and still maintain some Jon Tester like red state Democratic Senators just to stay in the game.

Warren self inflicted wound. She fell on her tomahawk.

Nelson is below 50% for an incumbent. That means he's toast.
