A Democratic congressional intern accused of publishing the private information of at least three Republican lawmakers allegedly threatened to leak senators’ children's health information if a witness told anyone about his activities.

Jackson Cosko, who recently worked as an unpaid intern for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, was arrested for allegedly posting the personal information (or "doxxing") of a number of senators including Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., Mike Lee, R-Utah, and Orrin Hatch, R-Utah on Wikipedia -- with information such as their home addresses and phone numbers. Graham, Lee and Hatch's information was published on Thursday.

Rat you missed the most disgusting part

Sources familiar with the case tell Fox News Cosko was in Sen. Hassan's office, where he was not authorized to be and was caught using a login he was not authorized to use. Cosko earlier was let go by Senator Hassan's office. A spokesman for Hassan says she "strongly denounces the alleged actions.”

According to Bell's statement, Cosko is alleged to have been confronted by the staffer and then walked out. The staffer then called police. Hours later the witness received an email from "livefreeorpwn@gmail.com" saying: “If you tell anyone I will leak it all. Emails signal conversations gmails. Senators children’s health information and socials.”

“Socials” apparently referred to social security numbers, while Signal is a secure messaging application. Bell said that there was probably cause to believe that Cosko published the information of senators, and then made threatening statements directed to the unnamed witness “with the intent to hinder, delay, or prevent” the witness from reporting it to authorities.

Retired Justice John Paul Stevens said on Thursday he believed that Judge Brett Kavanaugh should not serve on the Supreme Court following his testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee last week.

Stevens, a lifelong Republican who stepped down from the high court in 2010, said during an event to retirees in Boca Raton, Fla., that Kavanaugh’s temperament during the hearing into allegations of sexual misconduct was not suited for the position.

“I feel his performance in the hearings ultimately changed my mind,” Stevens said, according to The Palm Beach Post.

Kavanaugh has been accused of sexual assault by professor Christine Blasey Ford, who said Kavanaugh drunkenly groped her and tried to rape her when they were both in high school in the early 1980s. Deborah Ramirez also said she was assaulted by Kavanaugh when they were freshmen at Yale. The judge denies all allegations.

Ford gave emotional testimony to the Judiciary Committee last Thursday and said she was “100 percent” certain Kavanaugh attacked her.

After her appearance, Kavanaugh opened his testimony with an emphatic denial of the allegations, but also said the process was a ploy by Democrats and “the Clintons” to make sure he did not get confirmed. Kavanaugh — a former employee in the George W. Bush administration who previously worked with independent counsel Ken Starr on the investigation into President Bill Clinton — has been criticized for the partisan nature of his opening statements, in addition to his aggressive responses to Democratic lawmakers.

Stevens had praised Kavanaugh and one of his rulings in his 2014 book, “Six Amendments: How and Why We Should Change the Constitution.” He said at the time that he thought Kavanaugh “had the qualifications for the Supreme Court should he be selected.”

“I’ve changed my views for reasons that have no relationship to his intellectual ability,” Stevens said on Thursday, referring to Kavanaugh’s temperament.

Kavanaugh currently serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.

Stevens, 98, who was appointed by President Gerald Ford, said he believed that lawmakers should take into account the criticism of Kavanaugh’s testimony.

“I think there’s merit to that criticism,” Stevens said, “and I think the senators should really pay attention that.”

The nominee who sounded like Rush Limbaugh in his comments on the bitterness about the 2016 election that Trump won. This is his comments in the Wall Street Journal tonight.

The Supreme Court must never be viewed as a partisan institution. The justices do not sit on opposite sides of an aisle. They do not caucus in separate rooms. As I have said repeatedly, if confirmed to the court, I would be part of a team of nine, committed to deciding cases according to the Constitution and laws of the United States. I would always strive to be a team player..

Kavanaugh’s Drinking Buddies Oppose His Nomination
October 4, 2018 at 10:14 pm EDT

Charles Ludington, Lynne Brookes and Elizabeth Swisher write in the Washington Post:

We were college classmates and drinking buddies with Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh. In the past week, all three of us decided separately to respond to questions from the media regarding Brett’s honesty, or lack thereof…

We each asserted that Brett lied to the Senate by stating, under oath, that he never drank to the point of forgetting what he was doing. We said, unequivocally, that each of us, on numerous occasions, had seen Brett stumbling drunk to the point that it would be impossible for him to state with any degree of certainty that he remembered everything that he did when drunk.

None of this is what we wanted, but we felt it our civic duty to speak the truth and say that Brett lied under oath while seeking to become a Supreme Court justice. That is our one and only message, but it is a significant one. For we each believe that telling the truth, no matter how difficult, is a moral obligation for our nation’s leaders. No one should be able to lie their way onto the Supreme Court.

Daines Says He Won’t Be Available for Saturday Vote

Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) “says he’s going to attend his daughter’s wedding back home in Montana on Saturday regardless of a possible weekend Senate vote on embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh,” the Billings Gazette reports.

KTVQ: “Republicans could potentially be in a bind to confirm Kavanaugh if Daines is a no-show. With a 51-49 majority, the GOP can only afford to lose one vote, assuming all Democrats vote no. Vice President Mike Pence would cast the deciding vote in the case of a tie.”

GOP Hopes Kavanaugh Fight Can Rescue Midterms

“President Trump and his conservative allies now see their effort to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh as central to salvaging the Republican Party’s fortunes in the midterm elections, and hope to use the fervent liberal opposition to his nomination to the Supreme Court as a graphic example of the threat posed by a Democratic return to power in Congress,” the New York Times reports.

“The increasingly aggressive attacks on Judge Kavanaugh’s main accuser and the dark warnings about Democrats from his supporters are part of an effort to harness Republicans’ outrage over what they see as a Democratic scheme to steal a pivotal Supreme Court seat.

“But even as Senate Republican leaders are increasingly confident that Judge Kavanaugh will be confirmed, other party leaders fear his confirmation could dissipate some of the anger and sap the party of a powerful source of energy.”

Washington Post Urges ‘No’ Vote on Kavanaugh

The Washington Post editorial board, for the first time since 1987, urges senators to vote against a Supreme Court nominee:

As senators prepare to vote this week on Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh, they, and the rest of the country, must wonder: Which Brett M. Kavanaugh are they evaluating? Is it the steady, conservative jurist he was reputed to be before his confirmation saga? Or is it a partisan operative harboring suspicions and resentments about Democrats, with possible misdeeds in his past?

Unfortunately — and unnecessarily; it didn’t have to be this way — too many questions remain about his history for senators to responsibly vote “yes.”

At the same time, enough has been learned about his partisan instincts that we believe senators must vote “no.”

Ex-Justice Says Kavanaugh Doesn’t Belong on Court

Retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens said that Judge Brett Kavanaugh, who Stevens once lauded in one of his books, does not belong on the Supreme Court, the Palm Beach Post reports.

Said Stevens: “At that time, I thought he had the qualifications for the Supreme Court should he be selected. I’ve changed my views for reasons that have no relationship to his intellectual ability … I feel his performance in the hearings ultimately changed my mind.”

Friend of Christine Blasey Ford reportedly felt pressure to revisit statement on allegations

Keyser told the investigators that she was -- as the Journal notes -- urged to clarify her statement by Monica McLean, a former FBI agent and friend of Ford’s, the paper reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

McLean’s lawyer denied his client tried to influence Keyser to change her account, telling the Journal in a statement it is “absolutely false.”

A person close to the former classmates told the Journal she believed mutual friends of both Ford and Keyser – including McLean – simply reached out to Keyser to warn her that her statement was being used by Republicans as vindication for Kavanagh and if she felt she needed to clarify what she meant, she should. The person said the mutual friends did not “pressure” Keyser.

That sounds an awful lot like witness tampering, even for a job interview.

so... help us understand your point here, alky. is this opinion supposed to matter?

you see, this is one of the downfalls of your incessant need to use copy/paste's as a crutch. what you've told me is what stevens thinks.

are you saying you agree, or is this just some sort of FYI?

this is what happens when you have no opinions or thoughts of your own, and you rely on others to do your thinking for you.

isn't it ironic that you need a walker to get around too?

Unfortunately he already harmed the country too much with his decisions.

no alky, i disrespectfully disagree.

0linsky was by far the most divisive president in history, driving animus and hatred along racial, gender, and class lines. and he did it with glee just like he told us he would when he promised to "fundamentally transform america."

trump was the logical and quite visceral reaction to all of 0linsky's bullshit. everyone has their breaking point alky, and your dear leader collectively took us there.

no one deserves more credit for delivering to us president donald j trump than skeets hussein 0linsky.

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that Ford’s “beach friend” who helped her fabricate her anti-Kavanaugh smears, and whom Ford coached on polygraphs, just happened to be a FBI PR rep in the office of Preet Bharara, who used to work for Schumer on Judiciary.
