The morning after

First and foremost, I am very glad this election is over. I am not sure I ever felt this strongly about moving past an election and into some degree of political normality. Let's be clear, there was almost nothing normal about this election.

Some Senate Updates:
GOP picks up seats in Florida, Indiana, Missouri, and North Dakota
Dems pick up a seat in Nevada
GOP holds in Tennessee and Texas
Dems hold in West Virginia and New Jersey

Outstanding is Arizona and Montana.

In Arizona, Republican McSally holds a lead of just under 13,000 votes with approximately 26,000 or so left to count. The bulk of those are coming from Pinal County (which McCally has been winning by about 16%).

In Montana, Matt Rosendale has a lead of about 5,000 votes. But there are still over 90,000 votes to count there, and so that is sort of meaningless. If I had to guess, I would think that from what is left out there that Tester has more than enough opportunities to pick up the 5000 votes and more.

Some House Update:
At this point the Democrats have picked up 26 seats (23 was needed) and there are approximately 20 more seats left to call. If everything holds true to current standing, the Democrats will garner a net pick up of 6 seats in those uncalled, and we would be looking at an overall pick up of around 32 seats.

Some Governor Updates:
Democrats pick up seats in Wisc, Nev, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, N. Mexico, and Michigan.
GOP holds in Ohio, Iowa, Florida, and Arizona
Connecticut and Georgia are outstanding.

In Georgia Brian Kemp is up by nearly two points with 100% of the counties in, but at 50.5% he is wanting to avoid the run off that would take place if his lead fell below fifty percent. The only reason there is no concession is because of the run off rule.

Analyzing every mid term election since 1906, the president's party has list an average of 30 house seats and 4 senate seats. So trump has actually done pretty well.

Still waiting on Rehab Roger.

"hey alky,

considering the "historic rebuke" of trump, do we have an early update on this? has trump issued a statement asserting voter fraud now that the dems have taken back the house?

thanks for following up on this for us, alky."RRB

Why do Dems do This?
"Blue wall" failures in construction
"Blue wave" failure in logic.

TRUMP picked up seats in US Senate , Judges will be rolling thru to gain further conservative control of US Courts.

Packing them UP ♡

the GOP needs to push through one more tax cut before the end of the year. that would pretty much prevent the house dems from completely destroying the economy anytime soon.

then just sit back, grab the popcorn, and watch the dems self-destruct during their endless investigations and impeachment proceedings.

and i think it would be fitting if pelosi can invite louis farrakhan to ceremoniously gavel in the next congress with a "death to america" chant.

KAVANAUGH MATTERED: Four of the "Big 5" vulnerable Senate Democrats lose or losing tonight: Donnelly, Heitkamp, McCaskill, Nelson. All four voted against Kavanaugh. The one that did vote for Kavanaugh, Joe Manchin, prevails.

Good morning! In case you missed it, the craziest thing that happened last night is that Menendez celebrated his re-election with Juror #8, who was the 1 to acquit in the initial 11-1 vote to convict him of a false statements felony.

Not a smidgen of corruption with those Democrats.

ICYMI stocks are surging with the missing blue wave. Quite unlike when Obama became the likely president and then the president-elect. Of course that was all due to Bush as Obama and the FAKE NEWS media will tell you.

true, but the fake news brigade will tell us the stock surge is due to democrats taking the house.

McConnell Now Wants to Fix Obamacare

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) called for “working on a bipartisan basis to address shortcomings in the Affordable Care Act as Democrats prepare to take control of the House,” the Washington Post reports.

“His comments marked a sharp departure from Republican efforts during the past two years to repeal former president Barack Obama’s signature health-care law while the party controlled both chambers of Congress and held the presidency.”

A Triumph Over Gerrymandering

Walter Shapiro:
“The new Democratic House majority — and the almost certain return of Nancy Pelosi as speaker — represents a triumph over gerrymandering. Not too long ago political orthodoxy decreed that the Republicans would control the House until after the 2020 Census because the district lines were so artfully drawn by the GOP after the Democratic wipeout in the 2010 elections.

“Instead, the 2018 House elections were a belated vindication of Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 strategy of pitching herself to college-educated suburban Republican women. These women were Clinton’s target audience when she maladroitly described half of Trump supporters as ‘a basket of deplorables’ because of their ‘racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic’ views.

“As Trump in the White House fulfills every dire prophecy about his vitriolic fear mongering, affluent suburbs are increasingly becoming part of the permanent Democratic coalition.”

Especially when you make him the chief law enforcement agent in the state. It wasn't just one allegation, it was multiple 911 calls, police reports, and doctors reports documenting repeated abuse.

i don't know how you guys do it. not only did you elect farrakhan jr., you elect some somali raghead who married her brother to enter the country.

ellison's ex had better get the fuck out while she can. he seems like the kind of guy who would make her life a living hell.
