College Football Playoffs and Heisman?

My picks for the final four (CFB Playoffs)?

• Alabama
• Clemson
• Notre Dame
• Oklahoma 

First left out (again) will be Big Ten Champs Ohio State, although I wouldn't be "shocked" if they ended up getting the nod over Oklahoma. Some analysis (Nate Silver for one) has Notre Dame as the odd team out. Undefeated, but no conference championship? I guess it's possible. SEC is still screaming for two teams. Not going to happen. UCF on the outside looking in.

Alabama and Clemson are in. We know that.

I suspect that Ohio State might be the team that you might "not" want to play right now. Not with Haskins throwing for nearly 1400 yards and 17 touchdowns in his LAST THREE GAMES alone? Some are offering that their three touchdown point margin was not that impressive in their victory over 21st Northwestern (in large part because nobody outside the Big Ten likes the Big Ten), but 495 yards and 5 touchdowns for Haskins? C'mon.

Hows this for a what if?
How good would the Buckeyes be if Nick Bosa was still with the team?

Heisman? 

How do you make a strong case "against" Dwayne Haskins? If this thing was even close coming into the final game, then Haskins with his 495 and 5 Touchdowns should be the guy (yeah, that's a repeat statistic). Given his end of the season (including 430 and 6 touchdowns  against 4th ranked Michigan), he might have taken the honors. Over 4500 yards passing, and 47 touchdowns. Best Big Ten season in history (passing Drew Brees in most categories). It seems odd that you can have the best Big Ten season ever and not have it recognized?

Dark horse? 4500 yards and 47 TDS

Kyler Murray fans will suggest that he led the number one offense, it was his to lose. Given he passed for 379 yards and three touchdowns today, it's difficult to say he lost it. 3674 years and 37 touchdowns passing, along with 853 yards and 11 touchdowns running, he had a hell of a college football season. It may be one of those 1a and 1b sort of deals. Perhaps even a coin flip. 

Tua Tagovailoa went in as the odds on favorite. But he got totally outplayed this afternoon by Jake Fromm. In fact, he was upstaged by Jalen Hurts (the backup QB who led the comeback). With 3189 passing yards and 36 touchdowns, he falls short of pretty much everyone else on the list. Despite the hype and his status as favorite, I think he played his way out of the Heisman hunt today. I would be very disappointed if he took the honors.

If the season ended last week, then Will Grier might have been the frontrunner, with over 500 yards and 4 touchdowns against Oklahoma. But not playing in a conference championship makes a difference. As does being on a team that lost 3 games. He might be on the outside looking in.
