This is really really really simple...

So a second child from Guatemala died while in New Mexico.

Contrary to conventional liberal wisdom, this is not the fault of Donald Trump or any sort of anti-immigration policy.

The reality is that these are children who are being asked to take a 1200 mile journey (basically on foot) in order to illegally cross the United States border in hopes of either getting some sort of asylum or disappearing into the United States. The fact that more children do not die or otherwise become desperately ill along this sort of journey is the surprising thing here. In fact, I am guessing many people probably do run into health issues (even death) prior to getting to the United States. We just wouldn't hear about it.

The ACLU has called out the border services and are demanding that they somehow be held responsible for the deaths of these two children, in spite of providing them with medical attention at the time. But the reality here (again) is that our border services are not equipped (nor should they be required to be equipped) with the sort of medical facilities required to take in the thousands of people who decided to embark on the trek as part of a "caravan".

Personal responsibility is something that liberals have troubles grasping. Whenever something goes wrong (who could imagine health issues with an eight year old asked to walk 1200 miles through hazardous conditions without food, water, or medical attention) they find someone else to blame. Generally someone who they are politically opposed to.

The truth is this child is dead because his parent decided to have him walk 1200 miles to the United States. The next in line for responsibility is anyone who "encouraged" this man to take an eight year old on a 1200 mile trek to the United States. The very "last" people you should blame are those who are looking for ways to "prevent" this kind of reckless behavior.

Yet, in typical illogical liberal logic the "last" people who should deserve blame are the ones they would like to blame. Largely, because they have no ability to take any personal responsibility for anything... ever.  Bad things are always (in their meager minds) the responsibility of the "bad orange man" and anyone who refuses to call him evil.

Unlike you. I am a parent. If I took one of my boys on a 1200 mile hike such as this, then I would take that responsibility if something happened. Whether or not I felt that the alternative to leaving was "worse"... it's still my choice and my responsibility.

I certainly wouldn't blame the border security people for not saving my kids life, when I put him in the situation to become deathly sick. I certainly wouldn't blame anyone (certainly not a politician) who told me "not" to make the trip in the first place.

Are those who encouraged me to make this trip, suggested that I would be given asylum, free medical, free food, free housing, and a bunch of other stuff. I might be a little upset when I got to the border, realized that I was being lied to... that I was not going to be welcomed with open arms and given a bunch of free stuff just for making the trip.

then those people who supplied the busses, but not adequate medical care, food, water, and supplies when they got there... are the ones to blame.

It wasn't illegal. In fact it was mandated by a federal court based on a lawsuit brought by the ACLU.

So Indy.

Perfectly healthy mid December.
Takes a three day bus trip.
Sits in a Customs and Border protection camp for six days.

Then out of the blue, the kid gets sick and in two days he dies?

That's the story here?

And people want to blame border security and Donald Trump for this?

Either way you push is. US Customs and Border Protection are not designed to take in this amount of people, they shouldn't be required to take in this amount of people, and they certainly cannot be held responsible for what happens to everyone of these people.

Nowhere in the United States do we allow minors to be house with adult criminals in any sort of containment situation.

We can offer the semantics that the border containment is not the same thing as a Jail or a prison, but that is simply a semantic distinction. A distinction without a real difference.

But some people would like to pretend that everyone who crosses the border and gets detained are just hard working family people out to make a better life for themselves.

But the reality is that many of those detained are criminals, drug dealers, human traffickers, etc...

The idea of allowing them to be housed in the same facility as children seems to be a fairly obvious stupid idea. But, then again, what's obvious to one person is not so obvious to another.

So does it surprise anyone that a Judge would make a ruling that you cannot detain the children "separate" from the adults, after previous rulings determined that you cannot detain them "with" the adults?

No... because the entire idea is to not "detain" them at all. To allow everyone who enters the country to get a court date an go on their merry way.

anonymous said...

A distinction without a real difference.

The distinction is you, trump and the border guards are incompetent boobs who need leadership which is not present in either you or trump....Solution is he is willing to spend billions on a leaky wall and he don't have the assets to take care of the current issues of killing kids because they were dragged by their stupid parents trying to make a life for themselves....what a bunch of stupid people !!!!

C.H. Truth said...

Well Denny...

For once we agree...

We know that the current situation is fucked up and those who are responsible for creating the current situation are all incompetent boobs. There is no hope for the current situation to be improved around the edges to make it right. It's fundamentally fucked up.

We need a fundamental change in our border security philosophy all together.

That will take leadership and a willingness to actually change how our border security is handled.

Obviously we both agree that the status quo must end.

at the risk of stating the obvious, both the 7 yr old girl and now this 8 yr old boy would still be alive if they had just stayed the fuck home to begin with.

there's a path to both citizenship and asylum for those wishing to come here. following the basic steps of either depending upon one's circumstances is the way to go.

getting dead in the process only supplies the left with more political fodder as we've seen with both these kids, and their completely avoidable deaths.

A "horrible law" requires that children be separated from their parents "once they cross the Border into the U.S."

False. There is no such law. Families were rarely separated before Trump's "zero tolerance" policy to prosecute all illegal border crossings. Mostly, they used to be kept together in family detention centers or released into the United States as they awaited deportation or court hearings.

Democrats let cop killer Luis Bracamontes "into our country," and "Democrats let him stay."

Pants on Fire. Bracamontes’ last illegal entry was under George W. Bush, a Republican president, and Republican and Democratic administrations had deported Bracamontes

a good start would be a 3 yr moratorium on any and all entry into our country. that should be enough time to re-familiarize ourselves with the laws on the books and build a wall.

after that we need to be meticulous in our scrutiny of every individual applying to enter our country.

Dec. 26, 2018

In the fall of 1968, Donald J. Trump received a timely diagnosis of bone spurs in his heels that led to his medical exemption from the military during Vietnam.

For 50 years, the details of how the exemption came about, and who made the diagnosis, have remained a mystery, with Mr. Trump himself saying during the presidential campaign that he could not recall who had signed off on the medical documentation.

Now a possible explanation has emerged about the documentation. It involves a foot doctor in Queens who rented his office from Mr. Trump’s father, Fred C. Trump, and a suggestion that the diagnosis was granted as a courtesy to the elder Mr. Trump.

“I know it was a favor,” said one daughter, Dr. Elysa Braunstein, 56, who along with her sister, Sharon Kessel, 53, shared the family’s account for the first time publicly when contacted by The New York Times.

Elysa Braunstein said the implication from her father was that Mr. Trump did not have a disqualifying foot ailment. “But did he examine him? I don’t know,” she said.

Typical cramps sucking trumps dick....sure looks like they got real information to me.....LOLOLOLOL You should have read the whole article....idiot

C.H. Truth said...

False. There is no such law. Families were rarely separated before Trump's "zero tolerance" policy to prosecute all illegal border crossings.

That's pretty much a misrepresentation of the ruling.

While it's true that there is no ruling that demands children are separated from their parents at the border, there is a ruling that demands that children are not allowed to be "detained" in the same containment camps/areas with other adults.

Obviously... you could (as Obama chose to do) - simply "release" everyone who comes in with a child. Then you are neither detaining them or separating them.

But if your decision is to "detain" those who cross the border illegally rather than simply let them go, then you cannot detain children in the same facility as adults.

The Flores ruling does directly address the conditions, food, medicine, shelter, etc... and also includes the allowance of contact between the children and parents. Why would the ruling include (or even broach the subject) of allowing visits between children and parents if the idea of the ruling was "not" to detain them separately?

So the liberal logic here is because there is an option of just "releasing" anyone who crosses the border with children... that there is no law that "requires" separation. Such is a true statement under that logic.

But it's entirely untrue to suggest that the agreements under Flores do not set the guidelines that the Administration had been following.

Again, at the end of the day... the idea is all about how to get more people released "into" the country.

"It was family lore," Elysa Braunstein told the Times, adding that the story was "something we would always discuss" among family and friends.

No paper evidence has been found to help corroborate the version of events described by the Braunstein family, who also suggested there was some involvement by a second podiatrist, Dr. Manny Weinstein. Dr. Weinstein, who died in 1995, lived in two apartments in Brooklyn owned by Fred Trump; city directories show he moved into the first during the year Donald Trump received his exemption.

Dr. Braunstein’s daughters said their father left no medical records with the family, and a doctor who purchased his practice said he was unaware of any documents related to Mr. Trump. Most detailed government medical records related to the draft no longer exist, according to the National Archives.

What's been called "Trump Anxiety Disorder" has been on the rise in the months following the election, according to mental-health professionals from across the country who report unusually high levels of politics-related stress in their practices.

[...]

In a 2017 essay for a book co-edited by psychiatrists from Harvard Medical School and the Yale School of Medicine, clinical psychologist Jennifer Panning of Evanston, Ill., called the condition "Trump Anxiety Disorder," distinguishing it from a generalized anxiety disorder because "symptoms were specific to the election of Trump and the resultant unpredictable sociopolitical climate."

Though not an official diagnosis, the symptoms include feeling a loss of control and helplessness, and fretting about what's happening in the country and spending excessive time on social media, she said.

[...]

Panning said intense consumption of media coverage of this presidency is making some people's Trump-related anxiety worse.

"They say they're wondering what's next," she said.

Last time I checked, those people who died on their way to the United States never once blamed a "bad orange man" for the fact that their plight was dangerous and that not everyone would make it there.

Those people understood the risks, accepted those risks, and didn't try to blame others and play politics if something happened to them. They also were not (at that time) breaking any laws by making the journey.

So to your point Roger...

The people from Guatemala should be treated no differently than those who crossed from Europe. The United States is not responsible for the safety of any of those journeys.

The people who have "lost their minds" Roger...

DONALD TRUMP TWITTER ACCOUNT VIDEO REVEALS COVERT U.S. NAVY SEAL DEPLOYMENT DURING IRAQ VISIT
By James LaPorta On Wednesday, December 26, 2018 - 18:13

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump greet members of the U.S. military during an unannounced trip to Al Asad Air Base in Iraq on December 26, 2018. In the photograph, Lieutenant Commander Kyu Lee poses for a picture with the president after saying he was the chaplain for SEAL Team Five, a U.S. Navy special operations unit based out of Coronado, California.

President Donald Trump and the White House communications team revealed that a U.S. Navy SEAL team was deployed to Iraq after the president secretly traveled to the region to meet with American forces serving in a combat zone for the first time since being elected to office.

While the commander-in-chief can declassify information, usually the specific special operations unit is not revealed to the American public, especially while U.S. service members are deployed. Official photographs and videos typically blur the individual faces of special operation forces, due to the sensitive nature of their job.

The president’s video posted Wednesday did not shield the faces of special operation forces. Current and former Defense Department officials told Newsweek that information concerning what units are deployed and where is almost always classified and is a violation of operational security.

He put the men in mortar danger.

Oh, Dear God!
He's going to get us all killed!

~Marilyn~
Malcolm Nance, a former U.S. Navy intelligence specialist with experience in Iraq told Newsweek on Wednesday that posting the video was a break from traditional procedures that are usually strictly enforced and designed to safeguard the identities of U.S. special operation forces, especially when deployed to a combat zone.
“Operational security is the most important aspect of personnel deployments. The real names, faces, and identities, of personnel involved in special operations or activities, are usually a closely held secret in a combat zone,” Nance said. “Revealing them casually, through an unusual media exposure even if it’s the commander in chief, would prove a propaganda boom if any of this personnel are detained by a hostile government or captured by a terrorist group. There would be no denying who you are and what you do.”

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

When I saw that he was going to visit the troops in Iraq.

But instead of thanking the soldiers who have been risking their lives to protect us, he gave a campaign speech.

Then, in complete disregard for the Security and safety of the soldiers. He took selfies and posted them on the internet. The president’s video posted Wednesday did not shield the faces of special operation forces.

The real names, faces, and identities, of personnel involved in special operations or activities, are usually a closely held secret in a combat zone,”

Scott, if he has the guts to address this problem, he will blame the Fake News and the Democrats.

malcolm nance? really alky?

LOL.

this fucking guy is so cray cray he makes dr. ford look sane.

he's the one who recently told us that the russia, russia, russia, stole the election thingy started 20 years ago.

and just so you know, i get a regular dose of this MSDNC fuckstick on my local NPR affiliate. he's part of a TDS afflicted roundtable of 'experts' who, in days of old, would constitute a sideshow of freaks at a carnival. he lives not too far from me just outside of Hudson, NY in case you'd like to pay him a visit sometime.

every president in recent memory who has visited the troops overseas has posed with them, served them dinner, intermingled with them and allowed themselves to be photo'd and filmed.

but NOW, because it's TRUMP, it's suddenly a fucking problem.

ance said for 20 years the Russian have been running a disinformation campaign against the U.S. so we would "welcome" an invasion. Nance said for Trump it started at least in 2011 and that the Russians targeted Mueller and black voters in an effort to aid Trump.

"What Russia has done here and where the true brilliance of this intelligence operation comes from is way back in the early 2000s the Russian military conducted a strategic study and started carrying out a disinformation plan in which they said that instead of carrying out kinetic warfare against your enemies, the best thing we can do is create a disinformation and frame around that nation to the point where over time as we are constantly tearing them apart and feeding them with false information, they would actually welcome an invasion. So Russia has done that to the United States," Nance claimed.

Nance said "memes and tropes" used in the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign were the equivalent of "cruise missiles."

"It began way before 2016," the theorist said. "As a matter of fact, the earliest references I have with relation to Donald Trump shows that it started back in 2011 with Maria Butina and the NRA contacts, contacts with the fundamentalist Christian right and the alt-right in the United States. Russia was pushing these disinformation themes then."

"Then in 2013, they stood up the Russian Federation Internet Research Agency which built all of these memes and tropes which became the cruise missiles of fake news and disinformation designed to do what it did today, take one-third of the United States population and make them refuse to believe what they see before their very eyes and may have elected a president in the process," he said.

Nance said with American assistance the Russian campaign helped "suppress" the black vote and there is no doubt in his mind or those in the intelligence community that this is the truth.

"This is how effective this information warfare campaign has been carried out," Nance said. "And let me tell you, this report shows how they went after to suppress the African-American vote and there`s no doubt in my mind or anybody else`s in the intelligence community that doesn`t believe that it took American citizens to assist them in really getting down to where these voters were who needed to be suppressed and they did it in such a fashion, one of their Twitter groups had 366,000 followers on it."

Washington Post Hints What Others Have Known: Jamal Khashoggi Was A Paid Qatari Intelligence Asset

watching the amazon post and the rest of the left preen with phony indignation over this scumbag was fun. once again, the truth eventually comes out and this time was no exception.

as they say in texas -

"this guy needed killin'."

Anonymous said...

On Oct. 3, one day after Khashoggi's death, while his fate remained uncertain, his researcher contacted The Post to say that he had a draft of a column that Khashoggi had begun writing before his disappearance. It was published two weeks later. [The likelihood that Khashoggi's last column was ghostwritten to take advantage of his disappearance by making him appear to be an Arabian Thomas Jefferson approaches certainty.]

streiff quotes Dave Reaboi of the Strategic Studies Group noting that it doesn't make sense for the Washington Post to reveal that the man they've been painting as a patriotic martyr for two months was in fact a shabby operative working for a government hostile to his native country except if the Washington Post knew that there were rumors about these texts and possible payments to Khashoggi and they sought to get ahead of a story they knew could no longer be suppressed.

so the original khashoggi narrative was bullshit from start to finish and top to bottom...

...unexpectedly!

By December 2018—when the campaign had done great harm to the US-Saudi relationship and America’s alliances in the Middle East—Erdogan was publicly bragging about his part in this successful information operation, and as well he should. It caused tremendous damage to the Kingdom and the Crown Prince, but also elevated Turkey and Qatar and gave it leverage to use with the US and others.

Once President Trump released a robust statement supporting the US-Saudi alliance, intense political pressure was felt from anti-Trump forces in the American media, which pushed Democrats toward Qatar and Iran, and away from Saudi Arabia. Suddenly, the alliance had become a partisan issue; prominent Democrats in Congress began calling for a reevaluation of American policy toward the country. The intensity with which the Kingdom’s critics have attacked the US-Saudi relationship specifically points to more than just a target of opportunity. These critics could be placed into (at least) one of the following categories: (a) a pro-Iran position; (b) a pro-Islamist/Muslim Brotherhood position; and (c) anti-Trump. Often—as with the case of the Washington Post—it is a combination of all three.

Led by Sen. Chris Murphy and Elizabeth Warren, voices from the political left seemed to outdo each other in berating Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with whom President Trump and members of his administration have warm relations. They are trying to use outrage over Khashoggi’s death to force a Saudi surrender in the war in Yemen; and end to arms sales, a break in US-Saudi relations, or even to depose Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman from his position in the Kingdom’s order of succession. This, of course, was the Qatari policy aim and the conclusion of a successful information operation.

Trump Brags To Troops About A Fictional Giant Pay Raise He Got Them
HuffPost Dave Jamieson,HuffPost 9 hours ago

During his first visit to a combat zone since assuming office nearly two years ago, President Donald Trump couldn’t help but take personal credit for a very generous and fictional pay raise for U.S. troops.

The president told service members at al-Asad air base in Iraq that he was proud to secure them a much-needed pay bump of “more than 10 percent” after years of stagnant wages. Many of the troops in attendance may have been surprised to learn they hadn’t seen a pay increase in more than a decade.
