WaPo and the MSM duped
(likely because they wanted to be)

Jamal Khashoggi was named Time magazine person of the year for all of his journalistic breakthroughs.

But it turns out that Khashoggi was a paid operative for the country Qatar. While the Washington Post loved to print his articles in their editorials, it turns out that they were printing little more than Qatari state sponsored propaganda. Not only was Khashoggi pulling one over on WaPo (and others) in terms of his true identity, but much of what he wrote was also simply "fake news".

He was never a "journalist". He was a foreign operative.

WaPo suggests that the did not know this. They insist that they were duped. But they sure seemed eager to buy what he was selling, and apparently avoided anything slightly resembling a background check.

Now quite obviously Qatar and Saudi Arabia are not exactly close friends. The murder of Khashoggi seems more explainable (but not justifiable) when you consider that he was not just a journalist, but actually a Qatar operative who was spreading false propaganda (much of it negative towards Saudi Arabia).

The widespread calls for tangible sanctions or drastic policy changes towards Saudi Arabia over the killing of an innocent "journalist" was never rooted in truth. While there is never a true excuse simply to murder someone, the person they murdered was not who the American MSM and American political class told us he was.

The only question is how much they knew.
Was our MSM and political class victims, or accomplices to these lies?

actually d0pie, i laid this all out for you earlier on a different thread...

By December 2018—when the campaign had done great harm to the US-Saudi relationship and America’s alliances in the Middle East—Erdogan was publicly bragging about his part in this successful information operation, and as well he should. It caused tremendous damage to the Kingdom and the Crown Prince, but also elevated Turkey and Qatar and gave it leverage to use with the US and others.

Once President Trump released a robust statement supporting the US-Saudi alliance, intense political pressure was felt from anti-Trump forces in the American media, which pushed Democrats toward Qatar and Iran, and away from Saudi Arabia. Suddenly, the alliance had become a partisan issue; prominent Democrats in Congress began calling for a reevaluation of American policy toward the country. The intensity with which the Kingdom’s critics have attacked the US-Saudi relationship specifically points to more than just a target of opportunity. These critics could be placed into (at least) one of the following categories: (a) a pro-Iran position; (b) a pro-Islamist/Muslim Brotherhood position; and (c) anti-Trump. Often—as with the case of the Washington Post—it is a combination of all three.

Led by Sen. Chris Murphy and Elizabeth Warren, voices from the political left seemed to outdo each other in berating Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with whom President Trump and members of his administration have warm relations. They are trying to use outrage over Khashoggi’s death to force a Saudi surrender in the war in Yemen; and end to arms sales, a break in US-Saudi relations, or even to depose Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman from his position in the Kingdom’s order of succession. This, of course, was the Qatari policy aim and the conclusion of a successful information operation.

A lot of people have been highly skeptical of the way the Washington Post and its fellow outlets have treated the story of Jamal Khashoggi. He is the Washington Post opinion writer who was killed by Saudi Arabian operatives at their consulate in Istanbul. Regardless of the facts and circumstances, a couple of things have been clear from the beginning. First, the Turkish government has used Khashoggi’s death as the core of a full-bore information operation designed to stop US-Saudi cooperation in the Middle East. Second, the Washington Post, for reasons they haven’t fully disclosed, elected to make the death of this op-ed writer a cause célèbre in a way they never did when Obama’s BFFs, the Iranian mullahs, held their Tehran bureau chief Jason Rezaian in prison.

khashoggi was a piece of shit who lionized osama bin laden.

i'm glad he's dead.

what's troubling is how the amazon post chose to try and deceive the nation with a false narrative about this terrorist scumbag.

that would be "fake news" alky.

Democrats were willing accomplices.

It's amazing when our long standing international history of alliances are now a matter of "partisan" disagreement. Since I have been born, Saudi Arabia and Israel have been our primary allies in the Middle East.

But all of that changed when Obama was elected, and I am not sure exactly "why". But it seems clear that Democrats would like to believe that Obama was right and every other President in the history of our Country was wrong. They desperately seem to want to shake our alliance with Israel and the Saudis and replace them with Iran and (sometime I even believe Syria?).

i'd say both. the wapo DEFINITELY knew what they were doing by crafting and perpetuating the false narrative on this snake.

and i also recall watching an interview with judith miller and she was truly grieving over the loss. i wouldn't consider an accomplice as much as someone who took the wapo at their word and swallowed the lie.

i will not hold my breath waiting for time magazine to revisit their 'corpse of the year' choice. especially since the msm is often noting more than a mutual admiration society who exist to give credence to each other's lies as in this case.

Under Trump it's a fairly constant string of good reports qualified with "expert" predictions that doom surely hovers on the horizon.

well alky, it's like this...

every day the left demands that i choose between dead beaners and dead americans. i can't turn on a computer, turn on the TV, or read a newspaper without being confronted with a story about how another illegal democrat has slaughtered another innocent american.

and it's everywhere. major cities, rural areas, and everywhere in between.

democrats have signalled very clearly to me via their sanctuary city endorsements and virulent opposition to border security that the illegal vote is sacrosanct to the left, and dead americans are a price they're willing to accept in their quest to a permanent democrat majority.

in other words, the left offends every single sensibility that a normal person can have on this topic.

so yeah, if you're going to make me choose, and you have forced my choice in word and in deed, then yeah, you can pile the dead beaners up like fucking cordwood for all i care.

i don't want any more Americans to die for your political convenience.

Now we learn Page-Strzok text messages from Spring/Summer of 2017 (while they were on the Mueller team) were destroyed.

Roger and the Amazon Post are played for fools

But during Security Studies Group research for our report on the information operation after his death, we heard from reliable sources familiar with the investigation that documents showing wire transfers from Qatar were found in his apartment in Turkey. They were immediately put out of reach by Turkish security services, so they did not show the collusion between Khashoggi, Qatar, and Turkey prior to his death. We have published a new, unredacted set of findings about the case. It is damning to Qatar, Turkey, and the Washington Post.

Khashoggi may have been operating in violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act by doing this on behalf of Qatar. This is the same law that caused both Gen. Michael Flynn and Paul Manafort legal jeopardy by not filing their attempts to influence the U.S. government on behalf of a foreign entity. The op-eds published in the very influential Washington Post certainly qualify as attempts to change U.S. policy against Saudi Arabia and in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood, which Qatar supports in spite of its status as a terrorist organization with most other Gulf countries.

that tends to happen on the days that end in 'Y'.

the moment i heard about the khasshogi my reaction was - wait. there's more to it we've yet to learn.

then i saw the reaction from the bozo's post which drove the hysteria on the left and my reaction was - WAIT. there is a veritable shit ton we've yet to learn.

and as usual, the truth comes out, it makes the left look like fools, and what the left will probably do is what they usually do - cover the rest of the story...

...with a pillow. until it stops moving.*
