We just talked about this

[T]he big First Amendment question that has always revolved around Wikileaks and Assange and their involvement in the making previously secret or even classified information available is whether they are considered a publisher or not. If they are then that would essentially mean that Wikileaks is essentially no different from The New York Times or The Washington Post and that their publication of classified information is, legally speaking, no different from what those papers did in the famous Pentagon Papers case. In that case, of course, the Nixon Administration was seeking to block the publication of secret documents related to the Vietnam War that dated back to the mid-1960s when U.S. involvement in the war was just beginning.
In its decision, the Court rejected the Administration’s efforts to prevent publication of the documents and reports about the contents of the documents on the ground that the First Amendment made prior restraints on speech unconstitutional and that the Times and Post could not be punished for publishing classified information that had been provided to it by third parties. If the situation is the same with regard to Wikileaks, then it would be hard to see how the organization or any of its principals could be prosecuted for doing something that the Supreme Court has determined is protected by the First Amendment.
The gray area is if the government determines that Assange simply received the material from one of these “sources” the same way a New York Times reporter might and then published it. Is he guilty of a crime? Personally, I think the court’s decision in New York Times Co. v. United States was a bit of a stretch to begin with, but the newspapers did have one point in their favor. The documents in question were certainly classified, but they were historical in nature.
If the hacking of the DNC emails turns out to be something that Assange didn’t simply receive, but was party to, whether with the Russians or someone else, it’s possible he was conspiring to commit a crime there as well. Whichever way you flip this pancake, I don’t know that it’s a done deal and we can simply assume that the First Amendment would protect Assange for publishing classified material. As with the rest of the rights in the First Amendment, they all have limits.

Bottom line: The government wants to put Julian Assange in jail, and would probably figure out a way to do so if they were able to get him into custody. But it wouldn't be for the obvious reason that people assume, as simply "publishing" material is not illegal, based on USSC precedent.

So the point here being, if it is not illegal for Assange to "publish" this material, then why is special counsel interested in who may have or may not have had inside information regarding what or if Assange was going to eventually publish.

Certainly, you cannot charge someone with aiding and abetting an act that in and of itself is not criminal. This is why people like Andrew McCarthy and others believe that Mueller's purpose at this point has moved from building a criminal case, to writing a politically charged report of behavior that might be best described as "politics as usual".

i think it was mccarthy who said that the process is the punishment. all mueller has left is the ability to politically fuck with trump, not to truly harm him criminally.

As the U.S. Department of Agriculture investigated an October recall on beef, officials realized some patients were falling ill from products not included in the initial recall, so they decided to expand it.

More than 12 million pounds of raw beef products distributed nationwide by the JBS Tolleson company are under recall after a Monday news release added 5.1 pounds to the standing recall.

Investigators say 246 people from 26 states became ill from what may be salmonella contamination from July 26 to Sept. 7, 2018. This is a significant increase from October, by which time officials had determined 57 people from 16 states had fallen ill.

At least three patients had purchased JBS Tolleson ground beef products that were not included in the Oct. 4 recall, according to the press release.

The recalled products were packaged from July 26 to Sept. 7, 2018, and bear the establishment number “EST. 267” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped nationwide to retail locations and institutions.

Federal officials are concerned that some frozen product may be in consumers' freezers. The products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase, officials said.

The USDA is also reminding consumers to safely prepare raw beef and make sure it is properly cooked.

I don't think you can diffrenciate between the New York Times and some guy with a memiograph machine (or nowadays a blog) when you are talking about 1st amendment press protections,

Otherwise, you run in to 14th admendment equal protection issues.

Assange is a publisher. Merely receiving classified information would not be criminal. They would have to show he engaged in an active conspiracy (read pay money or hired spies) to obtain classify information.

Can get a job, but can fill out govt forms really well.
"More than 7-in-10 households headed by immigrants in the state of California are on taxpayer-funded welfare, a new study reveals.

The latest Census Bureau data analyzed by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) finds that about 72 percent of households headed by noncitizens and immigrants use one or more forms of taxpayer-funded welfare programs in California — the number one immigrant-receiving state in the U.S."

Well a blind squirrel found a nut.

"Speaking at a climate change town hall organized by Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont recently, Democratic Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez criticized Elon Musk’s electric car manufacturer Tesla over the company’s use of taxpayer funds. “When we as a public choose to invest in new technologies, we deserve a return on that investment,” Ocasio-Cortez said when discussing government investments in green energy."

Agree.

Biden 2020, he is all in.

"I’ll be as straight with you as I can. I think I’m the most qualified person in the country to be president,” Biden reportedly said at the University of Montana, according to CNN. “The issues that we face as a country today are the issues that have been in my wheelhouse, that I’ve worked on my whole life.”
