The federal government shutdown cost the economy $11 billion, according to a new analysis from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. Although most of the damage to the economy will be reversed as the government re-opens and workers return to their jobs, the CBO estimated $3 billion in economic activity is permanently lost. Overall, the CBO projected economic growth will slow this year to 2.3 percent, compared to the 3.1 percent rate last year, as the benefits of the new tax law begin to fade.

In a world of political hallucinations, those who insist on the concrete reality of the wall are dismissed as delusional. They know they must keep repeating the demand because they've watched politicians squirm away from border security promises a thousand times before.
The political class bullies and rages, whines and threatens, lies and pontificates... while the people who calmly repeat an unchanging demand for politicians to keep their promises and do their duty are denounced as the crazy ones. /end
