And one last thing...

Let's take a stroll down memory lane here folks.

Remember a President by the name of Slick Willie Clinton?

The House of Representatives impeached for among other things, obstruction justice when he attempted to get others (primarily Monica Lewinski) to provide false testimony to Federal Investigators. Clinton didn't deny that he had done this. In fact, he admitted and apologized for it.

Ultimately the Senate acquitted him of  the charges of impeachment (including obstruction) and he was free to remain President (with higher approval ratings). Democrats (and most of the MSM) demanded that it was overreach for the Republicans to impeach the President over something like perjury and obstruction in an federal investigation that they didn't believe was necessary.

Now we have a situation where the current President is being accused (with no actual proof) that he might have instructed a witness to lie to Congress. The questioning was in regards to when Donald Trump (as a private citizen) stopped negotiating a business deal with Russian business interests. None of these questions actually focused on any sort of a crime. Trump has never been under indictment, investigation, or anything else for these dealings. Both Trump and his son were consistent as to when these negotiations ceased.

But Michael Cohen was not consistent, and became the seventh person in seven decades to be charged with "lying to congress".  There are unsubstantiated allegations that Cohen was instructed to lie by the President (even as the President and his son both told the truth).

Now there are call by the same liberals and the same MSM (who once defended Clinton) for impeachment and removal from office of Donald Trump.
_______

For comparison purposes - Robert Mueller has charged seven different individuals for lying to Federal investigators during the course of his tenure as Special Prosecutor. Lying to and misleading investigators is a crime that is commonly charged and commonly prosecuted.

But on the flip side; over the past seventy years, only six people (prior to Cohen) have ever been charged with lying to Congress. In fact, Hillary Clinton went in front of Congress and opently lied. No charges against Clinton were ever going to be considered no matter how obviously and blatantly she mangled the truth.
______

But perhaps most importantly, nobody in the history of the country has ever been charged with the crime of obstruction for supposedly influencing someone to lie to Congress. Certainly not when the alleged obstruction took place over questioning that had nothing to do with a criminal activity. Certainly not when the person accused of obstruction told the truth himself.

Once again, the left is looking at finding another unprecedented made up crime in order to bring down the President. This time, they are openly salivating over the prospect of this new made up unprecedented crime, in spite of  literally having no evidence that the allegations even took place.

You are excusing the crime against the President because the liberal media has been trying to claim the 2016 election is not legitimate.

Richard Nixon indictment said that he had directed his staff to object justice. This is not unprecedented.

Presidential historian Jon Meacham on Friday resurfaced the first article of impeachment brought against former President Nixon in a discussion following a bombshell report that President Trump directed his former longtime lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress.

"The first article of impeachment against Nixon was just this: obstruction by directing others to lie," Meacham tweeted early Friday morning. "This is not hysteria or hyperventilating. It's history."

The Nixon Impeachment Proceedings
For the first time in more than a hundred years,883 Congress moved to impeach the President of the United States, a move forestalled only by the resignation of President Nixon on August 9, 1974.884 Three articles of impeachment were approved by the House Judiciary Committee, charging obstruction of the investigation of the “Watergate” burglary inquiry, misuse of law enforcement and intelligence agencies for political purposes, and refusal to comply with the Judiciary Committee’s subpoenas.885 Following President Nixon’s resignation, the House adopted a resolution to “accept” the House Judiciary Committee’s report recommending impeachment,886 but there was no vote adopting the articles and thereby impeaching the former President, and consequently there was no Senate trial.

This didn't happen. You are lying again to support the President.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

You are not denying the allegations against the President. You seem to be trying to claim that even if he did direct his lawyer to lie under oath to the house of Representatives majority controlled intelligence committee hearing is not grounds for impeachment.

Or maybe you just don't fucking care as long as Trump remains in office.

Now Trump, as President of the United States, is threatening Michael Cohen’s father-in-law as retaliation for Cohen testifying against Trump and cooperating with Mueller. Sounds like witness tampering to me.

Migrants can be seen marching toward Border Patrol agents by the hundreds, according to video obtained by ABC News. Smugglers dug a series of seven holes, only a few feet long beneath the steel border fence, with hundreds going beneath the wall and a smaller number clambering over it, according to CBP.

The fresh sand and scuff marks of shoes on the rusty steel were still there when ABC News visited the site on Thursday.

Article 1
RESOLVED, That Richard M. Nixon, President of the United States, is impeached for high crimes and misdemeanours, and that the following articles of impeachment to be exhibited to the Senate:

ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT EXHIBITED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN THE NAME OF ITSELF AND OF ALL OF THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AGAINST RICHARD M. NIXON, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT OF ITS IMPEACHMENT AGAINST HIM FOR HIGH CRIMES AND MISDEMEANOURS.

ARTICLE 1

In his conduct of the office of President of the United States, Richard M. Nixon, in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his consitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has prevented, obstructed, and impeded the administration of justice, in that:

On June 17, 1972, and prior thereto, agents of the Committee for the Re-election of the President committed unlawful entry of the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee in Washington, District of Columbia, for the purpose of securing political intelligence. Subsequent thereto, Richard M. Nixon, using the powers of his high office, engaged personally and through his close subordinates and agents, in a course of conduct or plan designed to delay, impede, and obstruct the investigation of such illegal entry; to cover up, conceal and protect those responsible; and to conceal the existence and scope of other unlawful covert activities.

The means used to implement this course of conduct or plan included one or more of the following:

making false or misleading statements to lawfully authorized investigative officers and employees of the United States;
withholding relevant and material evidence or information from lawfully authorized investigative officers and employees of the United States;
approving, condoning, acquiescing in, and counselling witnesses with respect to the giving of false or misleading statements to lawfully authorized investigative officers and employees of the United States and false or misleading testimony in duly instituted judicial and congressional proceedings;
interfering or endeavouring to interfere with the conduct of investigations by the Department of Justice of the United States, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the office of Watergate Special Prosecution Force, and Congressional Committees;
approving, condoning, and acquiescing in, the surreptitious payment of substantial sums of money for the purpose of obtaining the silence or influencing the testimony of witnesses, potential witnesses or individuals who participated in such unlawful entry and other illegal activities;

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

endeavouring to misuse the Central Intelligence Agency, an agency of the United States;
disseminating information received from officers of the Department of Justice of the United States to subjects of investigations conducted by lawfully authorized investigative officers and employees of the United States, for the purpose of aiding and assisting such subjects in their attempts to avoid criminal liability;
making or causing to be made false or misleading public statements for the purpose of deceiving the people of the United States into believing that a thorough and complete investigation had been conducted with respect to allegations of misconduct on the part of personnel of the executive branch of the United States and personnel of the Committee for the Re-election of the President, and that there was no involvement of such personnel in such misconduct: or
endeavouring to cause prospective defendants, and individuals duly tried and convicted, to expect favoured treatment and consideration in return for their silence or false testimony, or rewarding individuals for their silence or false testimony.
In all of this, Richard M. Nixon has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as President and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.

Wherefore Richard M. Nixon, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The description of his congressional testimony is not a denial of the Buzzfeed report. It doesn't deny that the President directed his lawyer to break the law by lying under oath.

The most important part of this story is that the President committed a felony. This does not say that the story is not true.

The press release by the Special Counsel's investigation is very unusual. They have not been responding anything.

It doesn't dispute the Buzzfeed story on the obstruction of justice. They people could have documents not the ones the counselor office. But I have to remind you that it doesn't deny the story.

Mueller Disputes Report on Cohen
January 18, 2019 at 8:32 pm EST

Less than 24 hours after the news site BuzzFeed reported that the president instructed his personal attorney to lie to Congress about his push for a Moscow real estate project, special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s office put out a statement firmly disputing the reporting, the Washington Post reports.

The statement was remarkable on several levels — first, the special counsel’s office speaks exceedingly rarely, and second, the statement seemed to drive a stake through a sensational allegation that Democratic lawmakers suggested earlier in the day could spell the end of the Trump presidency.

This speaks to the integrity of Mueller.

It Must Be Miserable to Be Donald Trump

George Will:
“Dislike of him should be tempered by this consideration: He is an almost inexpressibly sad specimen. It must be misery to awaken to another day of being Donald Trump. He seems to have as many friends as his pluperfect self-centeredness allows, and as he has earned in an entirely transactional life. His historical ignorance deprives him of the satisfaction of working in a house where much magnificent history has been made. His childlike ignorance — preserved by a lifetime of single-minded self-promotion — concerning governance and economics guarantees that whenever he must interact with experienced and accomplished people, he is as bewildered as a kindergartener at a seminar on string theory.

“Which is why this fountain of self-refuting boasts (‘I have a very good brain’) lies so much. He does so less to deceive anyone than to reassure himself. And as balm for his base, which remains oblivious to his likely contempt for them as sheep who can be effortlessly gulled by preposterous fictions. The tungsten strength of his supporters’ loyalty is as impressive as his indifference to expanding their numbers.”

“Either the electorate, bored with a menu of faintly variant servings of boorishness, or the 22nd Amendment will end this, our shabbiest but not our first shabby presidency.”

I was very surprised by the release of the memo about the Buzzfeed story.

Special counsel Robert Mueller's office issued a rare public statement Friday night, pushing back on Thursday night's explosive Buzzfeed News report. On Friday evening, a full day after the story appeared, the special counsel's office issued a statement that says the references to evidence of the president ordering people to lie to Congress are not accurate.

I'm not a lawyer but the word evidence is not a denial that the President ordered him to lie under oath. The specific evidence Buzzfeed used is not the only evidence.

The report will probably be released next month.

Former Canadian Prime Minister Calls Trump a Motherfucker. TDS!

Kim Campbell, Canada’s first, and only, female prime minister echoed a congresswoman's comments and called Trump a “motherf**ker” this weekend.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Reuters agreed with me.

Carr did not directly address whether there was evidence that Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress, he disputed portions of the story about how BuzzFeed corroborated the explosive allegations against Trump.

Citing information from two federal law enforcement officials, BuzzFeed said Cohen told the special counsel that after the 2016 presidential election Trump instructed him to tell Congress that negotiations over the Moscow project had ended earlier than they had in order to obscure Trump's involvement.

Carr's statement also appeared to dispute BuzzFeed's assertion that the special counsel learned about Trump's directive from interviews with employees of the Trump Organization, emails, text messages and other documents.

BuzzFeed editor-in-chief Ben Smith said in a statement: "We stand by the reporting and the sources who informed it, and we urge the Special Counsel to make clear what he's disputing."

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office on Friday issued an extraordinary statement disputing a bombshell news report that claimed President Trump directed Michael Cohen to lie about the timing of discussions over a proposed Trump Tower project in Moscow.

“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,” Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller’s office, said.

What part of "not accurate" did you not get Roger? Add to the fact that it was extraordinary enough for the Speciial Council's to respond with a comment when there usual policy is no comment and what you have is an absolute refuting of the BuzzFeed story.

Anyone who still believes and pushes the BuzzFeed story now just has a terminal case of TDS.

It's important to be clear that the only thing the special counsel disputes about the Buzz Feed story is the Buzz Feed story. Other than that, the story was accurate.

Meanwhile BuzzFeed's first, and indisputably mother of all bombshells the Steele dossier, still hasn't had any key element been able to be verified... In fact a key provable element, Cohen Prague meeting, has been proven false.

But wait till Mueller's report or door number 2,133.
