In fact, he was even quoted as denying that they were working on the Trump Tower negotiations during the 2015/2016 buildup, in spite of all the evidence that they were.
For several hours, this was declared smoking gun proof of malfeasance. Rock solid incontrovertible evidence that Mueller had Trump Jr, if not Trump Sr on a conspiracy to lie about the Russian Trump Tower negotiations.
- Party's broke out in Hollywood.
- Liberal Elites drank expensive champagne.
- The MSM held special news reports.
- Democrats in congress had spontaneous orgasms.
Then I believe it was the Washington Post (or was it the New York Times) that was required to make a correction to their allegations of Trump Jr.
It turned out that they had misquoted Trump Jr. The full transcript showed that he did in fact testify that the business negotiations were taking place pretty much up to the time it became more apparent that his father was going to become the nominee.
It also turns out that Trump Sr also had no trouble admitting that there were negotiations going on. The President suggested that as a businessman, he had the right to continue his business dealing contingent on the idea that he might not actually become the nominee or the President.
So it is curious to suggest that Trump the President openly admitted that the Trump organization was negotiating with Russian business interests, and that he would allow his own son to openly admit that the Trump organization was negotiating with Russian business interests... but would otherwise order Michael Cohen to commit perjury over the same subject?
Doesn't make much sense now, does it?
Moreover, unless Cohen had specific tangible evidence to "prove" such an allegation against the President, there isn't going to be any sort of case. Cohen's word against the sitting President's word in this case comes up more than a little short.

Our mainstream media is filled with guardians of truth and fact-checkers and multiple layers of editorial wisdom, and also it must be constantly reminded to view Buzzfeed reports with skepticism
So does a certain poster here. Well there's always tomorrows "bombshell" or shoe dropping or I guess bird dropping. They are all the same.

One reason for the proliferation of conspiracy theories is the media's well-established tendency to ignore or downplay stories that don't fit preferred narratives. This conversely makes people too willing to believe all sorts of terrible secrets lurk in the shadows.
And I'd add ignore the biggest political scandal of all-time.
But it will get more sunlight.
Or democracy will die.

That's why he lifts weights now. Doesn't want to get beat up at the senior living community.
