Watched Pete Buttigieg on FOX with Chris Wallace. Seems smart, personable, articulate, poised, and has a flair for agreeing and disagreeing with liberal policy in a very political manner. A politician's politician.— C.H. Truth (@C_H_Truth) March 17, 2019
Too bad he's diametrically wrong about most everything! pic.twitter.com/zUufu5nQzA
I would also like to point out that his idea of executive experience dwarfing that of Donald Trump and Mike Pence was a little hard to swallow. He's a mayor for christ sake? Depending on the city, a Mayor may do little more that cut ribbons, ride in parades, and break a tie when a city council splits on an particular vote.
Donald Trump running the Trump organization was likely responsible for way more employees, way larger budgets, and had to make way more big decisions on a daily basis. Hell, his decisions on who to fire on the Celebrity Apprentice might have been more important to Americans as a whole than any decision ever made by Pete Buttigieg.
Moreover, to compare what he does as a Mayor to what Pence did as a Governor? Well... I used to do pretty well coaching youth soccer. Doesn't make me Vince Lombardi.
All that being said, the guy is no bonehead. I stand by the notion that he has all of the necessary qualities to be a big time political player. I suspect that if this guy puts climbs the ladder by possibly running for Congress, Senate, or even Governor, that in a few years he could make a very strong run at the nomination. But for 2020, I am not sure he will be able to breathe enough of the shared air to be able to make a difference.
