Looks like Cohen lied "again" to Congress

“I have never asked for, nor would I accept, a pardon from President Trump.”

Well not according to statements previously made by his attorney.
“During that time period, he directed his attorney to explore possibilities of a pardon at one point with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani as well as other lawyers advising President Trump,” Mr. Davis said. He referred to the discussions with the president’s lawyers as the “ongoing ‘dangling’ of a possible pardon by Trump representatives privately and in the media.”
However, in this remarkable amount of semantic gymnastics, Davis tries to walk this back?
“After July 2, 2018, Mr. Cohen authorized me as a new lawyer to say publicly Mr. Cohen would never accept a pardon from President Trump even if offered. That continues to be the case,” Mr. Davis said Wednesday. “His statement at the Oversight Hearing was true—and consistent with his post-joint defense agreement commitment to tell the truth.”
It possibly would have been consistent with the truth if Cohen was asked if he were "currently" looking for a Pardon. But he was asked if he ever "had" looked into a Pardon. The fact that he had quite obviously had a change of heart in terms of a possible pardon doesn't allow one to rewrite history here.

More to the point, your current political or legal "position" as determined by your attorney does not replace the truth in terms of how you testify. You cannot get together with your attorney and change the truth, so that you are able to lie under oath and not be punished. Under oath still means telling the real truth.

Perhaps Cohen found the one attorney in America dumber than he is?

So its not lying as he defines it. Thanks for the template bubba.

Not exactly.

Cohen lied to the House Oversight Committee, right?

Not exactly, according to Davis, whom Cohen hired last summer after Ryan and Trump’s lawyers finished reviewing the files seized by the FBI to determine which of them were protected under attorney-client privilege. “After July 2, 2018, Mr. Cohen authorized me as a new lawyer to say publicly Mr. Cohen would never accept a pardon from President Trump even if offered,” Davis told the WSJ. “That continues to be the case. His statement at the Oversight Hearing was true — and consistent with his post-joint defense agreement commitment to tell the truth.”

The issue gets to the heart of the bizarre before-and-after contrast of the period when Cohen said he’d “take a bullet” for Trump and the period after it became clear the president wasn’t going to bail him out of legal jeopardy. Following his testimony last week, Trump tried to blur this line by citing Cohen’s early-2018 proposal to write a pro-Trump book as proof his comments disparaging the president before Congress were untruthful. Cohen’s testimony, however, included an admission that he lied for Trump repeatedly, and such a book proposal would have been consistent with his behavior during this period.

You are again you "have" rewritten history.

Trump tried to blur this line by citing Cohen’s early-2018 proposal to write a pro-Trump book as proof his comments disparaging the president before Congress were untruthful.

rolling stone?

really?

it's ironic that a publication that has pissed away it's very last shred of credibility would run a byline like this -

The credibility of the president’s former fixer has been called into question once again

good one, alky.

None of that has anything to do with the story. Which was about a pardon.

Was your story about a pardon?

Nope. It was about something completely unrelated.

Doh! Are you not paying attention, or simply incapable of lucid thought process anymore?

Just curious.

but here... try to follow.

Cohen at one time had his attorney solicit a possible pardon from Trump.

Then he changed attorneys and decided that he was no longer going to pursue a pardon.

When asked during his hearing if he had "ever" solicited a pardon he said no, and his attorney suggested that it was in line with his "new" version of the narrative.

Except under oath means you tell the truth, not provide your version of the narrative.

By "Fusion" Ken Dilanian

A lawyer for Michael Cohen first broached the idea of a pardon with President Donald Trump's legal team, two people familiar with the matter tell NBC News, and the ensuing pardon discussions are now under examination by House and Senate intelligence committees.

The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that Cohen’s lawyer, Stephen Ryan, first mentioned the idea of a pardon with the Trump legal team in the weeks after the April raid on Cohen’s home and office, and that the president’s lawyers, including Jay Sekulow, Rudy Giuliani and Joanna Hendon, dismissed the idea. But at least one of them, Giuliani, left open the possibility that the president could grant Cohen one in the future, the Journal reported.

NBC News spoke to three people, one of whom is familiar with what Cohen told the House and Senate intelligence committees, one of whom is familiar with Cohen’s account, and one of whom is familiar with the account of Trump’s legal team.

None of them disputed the Journal reporting. The sources familiar with Cohen's closed-door congressional testimony say there was more than one discussion about pardons, and that regardless of who initiated it, Congress is examining the question of whether the White House used the promise of a pardon to induce Cohen to continue his false story. The person close to Cohen said he was part of a joint defense agreement at the time and that he certainly would have accepted a pardon.

It’s not clear how serious the discussions were. No pardon was forthcoming, and Cohen eventually broke with Trump and said publicly he would not accept a pardon if offered.

Kelly rebuked one of the president’s constant refrains about undocumented immigrants: That migrants who cross into the U.S. illegally are dangerous criminals and pose a serious threat.

“They’re overwhelmingly not criminals,” Kelly said Wednesday. “They’re people coming up here for economic purposes. I don’t blame them for that.”

He also reiterated his position that a border wall spanning the entire U.S.-Mexico border would be a “waste of money,” despite overseeing the beginning of what would become the longest government shutdown in U.S. history over Trump’s demand that Congress fund the wall.

Though there are areas where a border wall would be effective, Kelly said, “We don’t need a wall from sea to shining sea.” The president himself has shifted on the specifics of his border wall, including its proposed length.

The retired general also defended NATO, which Trump has repeatedly maligned as having a cost to the U.S. that outweighs its benefits.

I agree with a four star general over the pathological liar you love.

Pretty simple concept.

You cannot reput a blog post by posting things completely irrelevant to it.

well genius, i can only speak for myself, but it's like this -

i'm a big fan of just letting the facts - once referred to as stubborn things - speak for themselves. i like our GDP on the rise. i like unemployment on the decline. i like minorities having more opportunity today than in the entire span of my time on this earth. i like secure borders. i like the looks of my portfolio.

so far, practically since the day trump announced his candidacy, you've been focused on nonsense fueled exclusively by your TDS. "we're up to 9,000 trump lies, trump lied about inaugural crowd size, trump lied about illegal beaners voting in california, blah, blah, blah." and your party - the JOO-hating democrats - have nothing factual with which to facilitate a removal of this president.

when you're not picking nits on his rhetoric, you're rooting for failure in the NK negotiations and you're siding with the house hamas caucus against America.

look at yourself. if you hadn't let trump drive you mad mail order might still be around and you wouldn't be "newly single."

get a grip, son. and stop trying to change the fucking subject.

when the day comes that I use NBC to call out your bullshit sourced from rolling fucking stone you know you're in trouble.

Congressional investigators are making plans to set a brand new shiny perjury trap for Donald Trump Jr. and to have him return to Capitol Hill, in part, to ask why he told lawmakers under oath that he knew "very little" about a deal with Russian developers in 2016 to put the Trump brand on a skyscraper in Moscow, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

"now mr. trump... why did you tell us you knew 'very little' about your father's efforts to build a tower in moscow, hmmmmmm?"

"and did you mean 'very little' or 'just a little'?"

"perhaps you meant to say 'just a little bit' eh mr. trump?"

"WHY ARE YOU LYING MR. TRUMP??? WHY MR. TRUMP, WHY???"

"MR. TRUMP, DO YOU KNOW THE PENALTY FOR LYING TO CONGRESS???"

"WELL DO YOU, MR. TRUMP???"

BREAKING NEWS!!!

HO LEE FARKING SHEET!!!

REALLY HAVE HIM THIS TIME!!!

BOOM!!! TOTAL DEVASTATION!!!

BOMBSHELL!!!

The cutting and disposal of a dozen mature trees into the Potomac River nearly two weeks ago at the Trump National Golf Course violated Loudoun County’s zoning ordinance, the county said, and could cost the organization at least $600.

The downed trees were spotted Feb. 23 by Steven McKone, director of the Calleva River School, as he kayaked the river. Subsequent paddlers and boaters saw about a dozen stumps 14 to 24 inches in width, and large tree trunks in the Potomac.

The removal of the trees from a flood plain along the river requires a permit, which the golf course did not obtain, county officials said in a news release Wednesday, and violates three sections of the zoning code.

The county ordered the golf course to stop all activity in the flood plain until it obtains the necessary permits.
