A new democrat, #17, is now running for president. Tim Ryan, moderate from working class Ohio. He unsuccessfully ran against pelosi for speaker. He recognizes the need to replace pelosi as well as nominate a non-socialist. With biden getting trashed, Ryan could get some traction.

I'm thinking they will need name tags as they probably don't all know each other.

and the circus tent keeps getting bigger

Are they going to have a "Hollywood week" with 3 groups ?

maybe they can dovetail with American Idol, Ryan Seacrest could fill in for Biden if he's still on the fence and Lionel Richie is actually younger than a few of them.

So what's the problem, Donald? You yourself called for full disclosure, James said...

Reacting to the first significant leak of news about the inner workings of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, President Trump on Thursday denounced a New York Times report that members of Mueller’s team believe the summary letter by Attorney General William Barr understated the seriousness of the special counsel’s findings.

On Wednesday night, the Times reported that Mueller’s investigators “have told associates that Attorney General William P. Barr failed to adequately portray the findings of their inquiry and that they were more troubling for President Trump than Mr. Barr indicated.”

In its report, the Times cited “government officials and others familiar with their simmering frustrations.”

From the start of the Mueller investigation in May 2017, until its report was submitted to Barr in March, there were virtually no reports of leaks or official comments to the public from the special counsel’s office. The Times story, if borne out, would represent the first significant crack in that wall.

TRUMP: “The New York Times had no legitimate sources, which would be totally illegal, concerning the Mueller Report,” Trump tweeted on Thursday. “In fact, they probably had no sources at all! They are a Fake News paper who have already been forced to apologize for their incorrect and very bad reporting on me!”

The New York Times responded in a tweet from its communications department.

“False,” the tweet read. “Our reporters interviewed multiple government officials and others to gather the facts for the story.”

And other media outlets supported the Times reporting.

According to the Washington Post, investigators are “frustrated with the limited information Attorney General William P. Barr has provided about their nearly two-year investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether President Trump sought to obstruct justice.” NBC News reported that the evidence that Trump “sought to impede the investigation is stronger than Barr suggested in his March letter.”

On March 24, Barr released a letter summarizing Mueller’s findings, saying the special counsel did not establish a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia, and did not reach a conclusion whether Trump obstructed justice. Barr concluded there was not enough evidence to charge Trump with obstruction of justice.

The special counsel also stated that “while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him,” according to Barr’s letter.

Nonetheless, Trump and his supporters have used Barr’s letter as vindication for the president, while Democrats and even several key Republicans in Congress — including influential Sen. Chuck Grassley — are calling for the full release of Mueller’s report.

@ChuckGrassley
I support release of the Mueller report

Ahead of the conclusion of the Russia investigation, the House voted 420-0 last to demand that the Justice Department publicly release the full findings of the special counsel’s report. (Four Republicans voted present.) Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., blocked a vote in the Senate to take up the measure.

On Wednesday, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee authorized issuing a subpoena for the full report. Chairman Jerry Nadler said he would allow Barr time to release Mueller's findings before considering a subpoena.

Barr says that his office is working with Mueller to make the “redactions that are required” before releasing the report. This would include information related to sensitive investigative sources and methods, confidential grand jury proceedings, and “material that could affect other ongoing matters.”

Last week, the attorney general said he expects to release the report “by mid-April, if not sooner.”

The greatest service media provides Democrats and hard-Left ideologues is allowing them to construct one-sided arguments and frame every narrative to tell the story they wish to plant in the public mind. It's an enormous power, to be sure - the Left would be nowhere without it.

“I’m reluctant to comment on another person’s faith, but I would say it is hard to look at this president’s actions and believe that they’re the actions of somebody who believes in God. I just don’t understand how you can be as worshipful of your own self as he is and be prepared to humble yourself before God. I’ve never seen him humble himself before anyone.”

DOJ Hits Back At New York Times And Washington Post Stories On Mueller Report

The Justice Department explained why it did not release summaries included in special counsel Robert Mueller’s report after reports surfaced that his investigators felt Attorney General Bill Barr mischaracterized their findings.
“Every page of the ‘confidential report’ provided to Attorney General Barr on March 22, 2019, was marked ‘May Contain Material Protected Under Fed. R. Crim. P. 6(e)’ — a law that protects confidential grand jury information — and therefore could not be publicly released,” Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec said in a statement to The Daily Caller.Kupec continued, “Given the extraordinary public interest in the matter, the attorney general decided to release the report’s bottom-line findings and his conclusions immediately — without attempting to summarize the report — with the understanding that the report itself would be released after the redaction process.”

_______________

Ah, but it is being claimed that he much distorted his "bottom-line findings" -- so that means a more extensive look at those "bottom-line findings is certainly in order.

Trump has said that he in favor of that sort of thing for he has nothing to fear.

Methinks the chairman doth protest too much. In other words, it's all a charade for the faithful. He doesn't really want to do anything. Likely Nadler is secretly praying Barr redacts the whole damn thing or ties things up in the courts for long enough for the investigation to disappear at least somewhat down the memory hole.

The full text of the Mueller report is a booby-trap for the Democrats. And many of them not named Schiff must know or suspect it.

Sure there will be one or two tidbits to keep the heavy breathers at CNN distracted as their ratings continue to fall through the basement, but largely the report will be four hundred pages demonstrating what we all now know did not happen — i. e. collusion between Trump or anyone on his campaign and the Russians (not that we didn't know that over a year ago).

The natural question will then be — what was all this for? Cui bono? A full airing of the report, what Nadler claims he wants, will instead "open the door," as they say in court, more than ever for an investigation of why this probe was launched in the first place, by whom and for what reason. The results of that investigation will be quite scary, if not humiliating, for Democrats because they will lead close to, if not over, their highest doorstep — the portals of the Oval Office during the previous administration.

Over the next few months we will be seeing the fight of our political lives to keep that threshold from being crossed. The skirmish over the report is but a relatively tame preamble. Nadler has to be very careful not to anger Barr too much because the attorney general has within his control the ability to appoint a special counsel and make life miserable for the Democratic Party straight to the election of 2020 and beyond.

The President is facing a real problem.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that the House plans to file a legal challenge to Donald Trump's national emergency declaration after he vetoed a resolution passed by both congressional chambers earlier this year rejecting it.

"The House will once again defend our Democracy and our Constitution, this time in the courts," Pelosi wrote in a statement. "No one is above the law or the Constitution, not even the President."

House Democrats sought to override Trump’s veto several weeks ago but, after only attracting 14 Republican votes, fell short of the two-thirds of the chamber necessary to pass the measure. Trump plans to use the declaration to dip into military money in order to fund his border wall, an action Pelosi said was unconstitutional.

"The President's action clearly violates the Appropriations Clause by stealing from appropriated funds, an action that was not authorized by constitutional or statutory authority," she wrote. "Congress, as Article I – the first branch, co-equal to the other branches – must reassert its exclusive responsibilities reserved by the text of the Constitution and protect our system of checks and balances."

Nixon lost a challenge to his attempt to use funds appropriated for other purposes.

It is illegal for California law enforcement but ok for celebrities. I'm sure Jerry Brown would have done the same thing, but you wouldn't have read about it.
