So is the NYT turning over a new leaf?

NY TIMES: FBI Sent Agent ‘Posing as Research Assistant’ to Infiltrate Trump's 2016 Campaign
The New York Times is now reporting that the FBI sent an “investigator posing as a research assistant” to meet with Trump campaign aides heading into the 2016 presidential election as part of a “counterintelligence inquiry.”
“The woman had set up the meeting to discuss foreign policy issues. But she was actually a government investigator posing as a research assistant, according to people familiar with the operation. The F.B.I. sent her to London as part of the counterintelligence inquiry opened that summer to better understand the Trump campaign’s links to Russia,” reports the Times.
“The American government’s affiliation with the woman, who said her name was Azra Turk, is one previously unreported detail of an operation that has become a political flash point in the face of accusations by President Trump and his allies that American law enforcement and intelligence officials spied on his campaign to undermine his electoral chances,” adds the article.

So now that the whole collusion delusion has been exposed as a big fat hoax reality has changed. First and foremost, it now seems like our crack DOJ and FBI teams were duped by Russian disinformation given to a foreign DNC/Clinton hire who was supposedly hired to dig up this  "opposition research".

So the logical next step would be to figure out "why" we got so easily duped. We also may need to figure out if certain people allowed themselves to be duped because their own personal bias against the President cost them their ability to think clearly. Lastly, we have to take a serious look at whether or not everything here was actually on the up and up, and whether or not there was anything going on in the DOJ and FBI that illegally pushed these investigations forward. Maybe they were not duped. Maybe our DOJ and FBI were in on the duping?

Now, much of this is already being investigated by people who are supposed to be investigating this sort of stuff. But pretty much all of it has been ignored by the main players in the MSM. This story is sort of an anomaly, but could be a precursor to things to come.

The problem for the NYT, WaPo, and others is that the appear (still) to be someone emotionally tied to the collusion story. After all, they won Pulitzers for there wonderful efforts in exposing a conspiracy that never actually existed. But obviously, there is a whole new line of news that is both very important and against their normal political leanings.

Let's see if journalistic integrity or deep seeded political bias wins out?

Socialist Democrats are pisses off, they are mad at Mueller, Rod Rosenstien and of course AG Barr.

Pres. Trump publically stated he committed no crimes. That is not a crime, but the Socialist Democrats believe it was.

Yuge issues facing Speaker in Name Only Polosi has facing her internally.
1, Change the US Constitution by voiding the Electoral college
2, Impeach Trump
3, Impeach Barr

What will she actually do. Zero.

Spying is a good English word.

As this turns on those that started it, it is my opinion they will be quickly be wishing they hadn't.

Why Barr Can’t Whitewash the Mueller Report

Neil Katyal:
Many who watched Attorney General William Barr’s testimony on Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee, which followed the revelation that the special counsel Robert Mueller had expressed misgivings about Mr. Barr’s characterization of his report, are despairing about the rule of law. I am not among them. I think the system is working, and inching, however slowly, toward justice.

When it comes to investigating a president, the special counsel regulations I had the privilege of drafting in 1998-99 say that such inquiries have one ultimate destination: Congress. That is where this process is going, and has to go. We are in the fifth inning, and we should celebrate a system in which our own government can uncover so much evidence against a sitting president.

What is on full display is the closed mindedness of today's Socialist Democrats .

When your team had every advantage and in 9 innings you put no one on base.

Still not one Democrat has gone to the secured room to read the less redacted Mueller Report.

So the public boo hoooing was just theater.

This happened in September of 2016. The FBI was trying to get information on the Russian government intervention into the election. You. as usual, didn't post the information that demolished your conspiracy theory, once again.

The decision to use Ms. Turk in the operation aimed at a presidential campaign official shows the level of alarm inside the F.B.I. during a frantic period when the bureau was trying to determine the scope of Russia’s attempts to disrupt the 2016 election, but could also give ammunition to Mr. Trump and his allies for their spying claims.

They were not trying to sabotage the candidate.

The Brick Wall syndrome is getting worse.

Oh goodie Roger has a new catch phrase.

Anonymous said...

Roger, did Mueller know about your posted shoe dropping bombshell?

Commonsense said...

Really? And yet they didn't inform candidate Trump of the spying operation the FBI was conducting against his campaign.

And given the text messages flying within the bureau itself this is a doubtful and absurd explanation.

One of former President Barack Obama’s most senior advisers, Dan Pfeiffer, is downplaying reporting by the New York Times on former Vice President Joe Biden’s Ukraine corruption, as the scandal widens and severely threatens Biden’s 2020 White House chances.

On Wednesday, the Times published a piece that details how Biden faces “conflict of interest questions” with regard to the Ukraine that President Donald Trump and his allies are promoting as political attacks on Biden."

The problem with the corruption oh Obama/Biden

Incredible. Now confirmed: “FBI Sent Investigator Posing as Assistant to Meet With Trump Aide in 2016”

It’s absolutely not a coincidence that these leaks are coming out now. The FBI knows Bill Barr is investigating. The IG report is coming. They’re worried. We’re getting closer.

Remember, the counterintelligence investigation was opened by Trump haters.

Why didn’t the FBI tell Trump about their concerns, like they did with Senator Dianne Feinstein?

So much to do.

Holy ... FBI leaks to friendliest of reporters at the Times that they sent multiple overseas intelligence assets to entrap Trump aides as part of their operation against him. This leak is presumably trying to get ahead of Inspector General report.

Almost like Bill Barr was justified in using the word “spying.” Rough few days for the Barr Derangement crowd.

"House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) threatened on Wednesday to issue a contempt citation if Attorney General William Barr did not show up for a committee hearing the next day about Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

However, when Barr did not show up for the hearing Thursday morning, Nadler delivered a lecture instead."

What a punk.

NBC fake news reports that the house intelligence committee has been in talks with Robert Mueller, to testify.

Right now he is an employee of the department of justice.

He probably won't be able to release the entire report, or discuss the redacted information.

Mueller would take a beating right now. There are a ton of embarrassing and revealing subjects he would have to take on...

starting with his letter to Barr about being upset about how the bare facts did not provide the sort of "narrative" he wanted to provide.

Did he write the "snitty" letter, or was he pressured by his team.

When did he know that there was no conspiracy and why did he not provide that information months ago.

Why (if there was no conspiracy he could prove) did he write indictments against people like George Papadopoulos that read like spy novels, with irrelevant (and what we now know to be) completely unsubstantiated innuendo.

Why did he spend 22 months and $30 million dollars then not do his job?

Did he really not consider that the Dossier was Russian disinformation, even after 22 months and $30 million?

Does he really believe that statements to the media bashing his probe is obstruction?

Exactly how thin is his skin?

Did any of Trump's mean tweets make him cry?

I could go on and on... but he would have to answer for plenty of embarrassing and unprofessional things.
