A man was telling his buddy : "You won't believe what happened last night."

My daughter walked into the living room and said : Dad, cancel my allowance immediately, forget my college tuition loan, rent my room out, throw all my clothes out the window, take my TV and my laptop.

Please take any of my jewelry to the Salvation Army or Cash Converters. Then sell my car, take my house key away, and throw me out.

Then disown me and never talk to me again. And don't forget to write me out of your will and leave my share to any charity you choose."

"Holy Smokes," replied the friend, " - she actually said that?"

"Well, she didn't put it quite like that. She actually said :

"Dad, meet my new boyfriend, Mohammed. We're going to work together on Elizabeth Warren’s Presidential Campaign."

GOP Lawmaker Unloads on Trump and Barr

Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) slammed President Trump and Attorney General William Barr is a series of tweets, while saying he offers his conclusions “only after having read Mueller’s redacted report carefully and completely.”

Amash states his “principal conclusions” as follows:

Attorney General Barr has deliberately misrepresented Mueller’s report.
President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct.
Partisanship has eroded our system of checks and balances.
Few members of Congress have read the report.
He concludes: “America’s institutions depend on officials to uphold both the rules and spirit of our constitutional system even when to do so is personally inconvenient or yields a politically unfavorable outcome. Our Constitution is brilliant and awesome; it deserves a government to match it.”

Former FBI general counsel James Baker said Friday he viewed the Steele dossier “skeptically” and was “concerned” about the veracity of the document when the bureau received it before the 2016 election.

But despite those concerns, Baker was one of the FBI officials who reviewed the Carter Page surveillance warrant application, which relied heavily on information from the dossier.

[...]

Steele first provided information from his Trump investigation July 5, 2016, but his reports reportedly did not make their way to the FBI team leading the Trump probe until mid-September 2016. The FBI was aware Steele was working for Democrats, and that he had told a Justice Department official he was “desperate” to see Trump lose the 2016 election.

In comparing Barr’s principal conclusions, congressional testimony, and other statements to Mueller’s report, it is clear that Barr intended to mislead the public about Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s analysis and findings.

Barr’s misrepresentations are significant but often subtle, frequently taking the form of sleight-of-hand qualifications or logical fallacies, which he hopes people will not notice.

Under our Constitution, the president “shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” While “high Crimes and Misdemeanors” is not defined, the context implies conduct that violates the public trust.

Contrary to Barr’s portrayal, Mueller’s report reveals that President Trump engaged in specific actions and a pattern of behavior that meet the threshold for impeachment.

Roger was once against attacking the AG.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

In fact, Mueller’s report identifies multiple examples of conduct satisfying all the elements of obstruction of justice, and undoubtedly any person who is not the president of the United States would be indicted based on such evidence.

Impeachment, which is a special form of indictment, does not even require probable cause that a crime (e.g., obstruction of justice) has been committed; it simply requires a finding that an official has engaged in careless, abusive, corrupt, or otherwise dishonorable conduct.

SWAMP REUNION: Obama’s Three Muses Reappear In Mueller’s Trump Investigation

Four years ago, the Observer published my first article entitled All the President’s Muses. It was triggered by this picture, taken in the White House after the Benghazi murders. My concern was that President Barack Obama surrounded himself with former federal prosecutors who would do anything to win. . . . And, here they are again.

This triumvirate of cover-up experts is central to the Obama White House arm of the conspiracy to surveil the Trump campaign, the phony FISA warrant, “unmaskings” of Americans in the Trump campaign and denials of information to the incoming president of the United States. Who are they?
…..
Just ignore the Strzok-Page text message that President Obama wanted “to know everything” back as far as September 2016. Never mind the Steele dossier was bought and paid for by Clinton and the DNC. Forget the fictional dossier was the foundation of a gargantuan effort to prove Trump-Russia “collusion,” withhold information from the incoming administration, conduct illegal surveillance, obstruct justice, lie to courts, and to justify special counsel. Overlook the fact that Comey went to brief Trump on the dossier the next day.

No, President Obama did not discuss any of this on January 5 with the most senior people in the real conspiracy — at least not in THAT conversation. He just said handle it “by the book.” Kathryn Ruemmler and Susan Rice have said so. No doubt Ms. Monaco will agree.

The professionals whose job it is to decide these things, all decided that the issues raised by Mueller for the most part were not even obstruction as a matter of law, and where there may have been relevant law involved that he didn't come close to showing he had a case that could be brought before a jury.

You have to get two things through your thick skull.

There was no conspiracy, coordination or collusion between the Trump campaign and the people responsible for the election meddling.

A criminal case where legal experts are in open disagreement about whether or not the actions raised could even "be" criminal can never be (in good conscious) brought before a jury when you need a strong personal belief that you can prove the case to 12 jurors (at least half of which believe no crime has been committed) unanimously beyond a reasonable doubt.

The very concept that there is so much disagreement is 100% proof that the case cannot be proven unanimously.

so i guess that leaves me to conclude that those 900 prosecutors are simply never trump hacks soaking in a huge vat of 'orange man bad' TDS.

furthermore, if mueller was actually serious about bringing some russians to justice, the 13 indictments he DID issue against those russian meddlers could have remained sealed and secret, which would have then afforded him the luxury of possibly arresting them here before they fled back to moscow, never to see the inside of an american courtroom or prison cell. issuance of those indictments was all for show, to give clowns like you a fresh reason to masturbate to your mueller portraits.

https://www.mercatus.org/publications/federal-fiscal-policy/debt-and-deficit-under-obama-administration

nnual budget deficits, which represent the federal government’s spending in excess of revenue, have begun to rise for the first time in seven years, dating back to 2009. President Obama inherited a deficit of $1.4 trillion when he took office at the end of the Great Recession. The first chart shows that deficits began to shrink as the economy slowly recovered. As of 2016 the shortfall has started growing again. The red ink increased $152 billion from last year, for a total projected deficit of $590 billion. This increase is also reflected in the fact that the deficit has resumed growing as a share of GDP for the first time since 2009.

C.H. Truth said...

Denny,

Other than not using the "on-budget" numbers you basically repeated what I stated, with excuses as to why Roger was wrong to suggest that Obama lowered the deficit.

Secondly, Obama didn't inherit that first budget. Congress specifically didn't pass a budget till Obama was in office. In fact, the original stimulus plan passed by congress and signed into law by Obama was a significant part of that 2009 budget.

So to suggest that somehow Bush was responsible for a budget he didn't write, that included spending that he didn't sign into law is simple case of revisionist history.

“It now seems the General Flynn was under investigation long before was common knowledge. It would have been impossible for me to know this but, if that was the case, and with me being one of two people who would become president, why was I not told so that I could make a change?”

— President Trump, in a tweet, May 17, 2019

The president tweeted that he did not realize Michael Flynn, his first national security adviser, had been under investigation on suspicion of being a Russian agent and that he should have been warned.

This is a puzzling complaint. First, a report issued by a Republican-led House committee — often touted by Trump — disclosed in 2018 that there had been an ongoing counterintelligence investigation of Flynn. So that’s not new information. Second, Trump was warned by President Barack Obama not to hire Flynn — and the report by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III says that warning actually soured Trump on Flynn.

Here’s what we know about the warnings Trump received about Flynn. In a narrow, technical sense, Trump was not warned that Flynn was being investigated as a possible Russian agent. But there were plenty of other flashing lights that Flynn was trouble — warnings that Trump chose to ignore.

The Facts

Flynn was fired on Feb. 13, 2017, in the opening weeks of the Trump administration, after he supposedly misled Vice President Pence about a conversation with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Flynn had claimed he had not requested the Russian government decline to respond to sanctions imposed by Obama, when, in fact, he had delivered that message and Russia had agreed. (The whole story can be seen in our compelling video above.)

Mueller secured Flynn’s guilty plea to lying to FBI agents, who, on Jan. 24, had interviewed him about his conversations with Kislyak. U.S. officials had become aware of the Flynn-Kislyak conversations because of intelligence monitoring of Kislyak, as they tried to determine why Russia had decided not to retaliate in response to the sanctions.

The House Intelligence Committee report detailed that Flynn had already been the subject of a counterintelligence investigation. It was possibly sparked by his 2015 attendance at the 10th anniversary gala in Moscow for the state-sponsored Russian television network RT, for which he earned $45,000 and was seated next to President Vladimir Putin. The Mueller report indicates a key focus was Flynn’s relationship with Kislyak: “Previously, the FBI had opened an investigation of Flynn based on his relationship with the Russian government. Flynn’s contacts with Kislyak became a key component of that investigation.”

The House committee report says the FBI had been prepared to end the counterintelligence investigation against Flynn, but then the conversation with Kislyak was discovered.
