The whole collusion delusion and obstruction obsession is wearing thin

Certainly, we have seen some twists and turns to all of this. Pretty much the entire time the investigation was taking place, the general public was pretty split on whether or not there was (or there would be) clear evidence of collusion. Then shortly after the report came out, the numbers flipped to about 3-1 believing that there was no collusion (with less than 20% still saying there was collusion).

But that number (led almost entirely by Democrats changing their opinion) has gradually been moving back. While less than 15% of Republicans and just over 30% of Independents believe there is evidence of collusion, Democrats are back up over 50% in their religious belief of said collusion.

As you can see, there really isn't as big of a difference between how people view the idea of conspiracy and the idea of obstruction as one might believe. Americans are only slightly more likely to believe that Trump committed obstruction, than they are to believe that he conspired with the Russians.

My guess is that much of this is rooted in deeply held partisanship, along with a fairly consistent belief that if Trump was not guilty of  the underlying crime, it's difficult to find him guilty of obstruction justice. Reality is that no matter what he did, it wouldn't have changed the outcome of the investigation. It really doesn't surprise me a lot that there isn't as much crossing over of opinions as one might think, in spite of the way the report was written.

This is likely due to Democrats slowing move away from the Mueller conclusion that there was no evidence of collusion, while Republicans and independents (who see no collusion) seem fairly prone to falling in line with the Barr/Rosenstein conclusion on obstruction. But make no mistake, the constant drumbeat from Democrats declaring a conspiracy cover up, along with the constant claims of exoneration from the President are what is driving the partisanship in the way this is being viewed.

Just tells us that all facts are still subject to partisan opinion.

LOS ANGELES — President Trump’s efforts to build a wall along the southwest border hit a roadblock on Friday night when a federal judge in California granted a preliminary injunction that prevents the administration from redirecting funds under the national emergency declaration issued in February.

The judge, Haywood Gilliam of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, who is overseeing a pair of lawsuits over border wall financing, ruled that the administration’s efforts likely overstep the president’s statutory authority.

The injunction applies specifically to some of the money the administration intended to allocate from other agencies, and it limits wall construction projects in El Paso, Tex., and Yuma, Ariz.

The ruling quoted from a Fox News interview with Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, in which he said that the wall “is going to get built, with or without Congress.”

The idea that the president can act “without Congress” when lawmakers refuse a funding request from the White House “does not square with fundamental separation of powers principles dating back to the earliest days of our Republic,” Judge Gilliam wrote.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

At least the judge knows how things are supposed work!!!!! And lil scotty still using polls he does not trust to drive home his bias!!!!! BWAAAAAAAAAAA

First of all Denny,

The injunction was only a partial injunction. The wall is still being build with funds from the declaration of emergency, the judge just declared two areas off limits, and part of the monies (about a billion out of five billion) allotted to be "unconstitutional".

If this judge didn't completely overrule the Executive Order, than no judge will.

But ultimately, this will be appealed, and the litigants will run across a Judge who actually acknowledges that there is a law written by Congress that grants emergency powers by Presidents and that every President has used the power.

New York Times reports BRENNAN secretly worked with OBAMA and a "tiny circle of aides" to circulate intelligence outside the established protocol of the president’s daily intelligence briefing.

Where can this be possibly "heading" ?

Those demanding the release of Mueller’s underlying material in a probe that found no Trump-Russia conspiracy are now livid over an order to declassify the underlying material that launched the probe. The hypocrisy is staggering, & the reason is obvious: the probe was baseless.

Democrats are engaged in presidential obstruction. They're so desperate to stop the President that they won't help the country.

The President's had enough! Can't blame him. (1/7)

Republicans conducted serious oversight on abuses of gov't power by the Obama-Biden administration:

-IRS targeting conservatives
-Fast & Furious gun-running
-Solyndra and other green companies wasting taxpayer dollars
-Benghazi tragedy
-FBI/DOJ targeting Trump campaign (3/7)
Compare that to what the Democrats are doing. They're going after:

-The President's PERSONAL tax returns
-The President's PERSONAL finances
-The President's PERSONAL business records

It has nothing to do with oversight of the executive branch. (4/7)

Hey asshole...and injunction is an injunction no matter how you try to spin it.....The judge sure has more sense than you will ever have and realizes how govmt works while all you do is suck on trumps dick!!!!! BWAAAAAA!!! Nice try though which you heard on fox.....BWAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

Actually I read the article from the NY Times and the Hill

Federal Judge Blocks Part of Trump’s Plan to Build Border Wall

Federal judge partially blocks Trump's $1 billion border wall plan

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/445528-federal-judge-partially-blocks-funding-for-trumps-border-wall-report

A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction on Friday, partially blocking President Trump's plan to fund a border wall with Mexico using money from the Defense Department.

California U.S. District Court Judge Haywood Gilliam, who was appointed by former President Obama, issued the order, which does not fully halt construction but would limit additional border fencing to specific areas. It would also block the transfer of about $1 billion in Pentagon funds from various projects to pay for the construction of a wall.

Again, Denny... can't help that you cannot actually read past the headline. The President has appropriated nearly 6 billion to the wall, and this injunction barely puts a dent in it.

Which again proves your prowess is only as original as your bias......BWAAAAAA!!

And of course your only recourse is to protect trump and cite me for posting the factual article....You really are a dumb unapologetic asshole who can now say it is not even a dent....An injunction is a trump loss asshole no matter how you try to spin it....Like i said before which no resulted in another POS opinion of trump fellation.....BWAAAAAAAAA!!!!

No Denny...

You posted a headline that implied something that wasn't true.

I corrected you. Had nothing to do with Trump.
