Looks like we have developed into a four person top tier, followed by another five or so who might still have the ability to make a jump into top tier status, and then a bunch who are simply hoping to stay in the race long enough to remain relevant in case a large natural disaster takes out the top candidates.

Record-smashing heat has scorched Alaska over the past few days, and even worse heat is in store for the week ahead.
On Saturday, downtown Juneau, Alaska's capital city, hit 83 degrees, breaking a record that had stood for 110 years.
The heat has also exacerbated a wildfire near Anchorage that's brought extremely smoky skies to the city. Late Sunday, people walked through midtown Anchorage covering their faces with their shirts, the Anchorage Daily News reported.
Smoke from the blaze has been covering the Anchorage area since early Thursday, AccuWeather said.
"Persons with respiratory problems may have difficulty breathing when outside," the National Weather Service warned in a "dense smoke advisory" issued for the eastern Kenai Peninsula, not far from Anchorage.
The blaze, known as the Swan Lake fire, was 106 square miles in size and 17% contained as of Sunday night.

It wasn’t only monthly records that shattered. On Friday, a town in the south of France felt like Death Valley, Calif., in August: According to the French national weather agency, Gallargues-le-Montueux was 45.9 degrees Celsius, or 115 degrees, the hottest temperature ever recorded in the country.
It is part of an unmistakable trend: The hottest summers in Europe in the last 500 years have all come in the last 17 years. Several of those heat waves bear the fingerprints of human-caused climate change. In years to come, scientists say, many more are likely to batter what is naturally one of the world’s temperate zones.
“It is quite clear one has to treat it as an emergency,” said Kai Kornhuber, a climate scientist doing postdoctoral research at the Earth Institute at Columbia University.
