I prefer a touch screen voting machine that allows you to confirm your voting choices before submission. If it prints a computer piece of paper, so be it. I really don't care one way or the other. As long as it's not a paper ballot that is filled out with a pen or pencil; or allows people to make a determination about the "intent of the voter"; or if we are not relying on boxes of ballots being shipped between here to there.
So as long as it's a touch screen and a computer printout that removes all questions as how someone voted, and does not include anything that can be lost or found. I have no issues.
Of course, if the machine can be "hacked" then I guess the paper trail that prints out can also be "hacked" as well. So it's sort of a false sense of security at the end of the day. My gut feeling is that Democrats figure that computerizing the elections prevents them from being able to manipulate vote totals in places like Broward County Florida or King County Washington.
Keep in mind that a computer program pays you, it stores your money in the bank, it keeps track of your taxes, it keeps tabs on your driver's license, your passport, any criminal records, most every employment record...
I am curious as to why you feel comfortable with your $49 in savings being left out on a hard drive to be "hacked" - but you want to take a #2 pencil and a piece of paper to fill out your ballot because you are afraid that the machine will be "hacked".

I prefer a touch screen voting machine that allows you to confirm your voting choices before submission. If it prints a computer piece of paper, so be it. I really don't care one way or the other. As long as it's not a paper ballot that is filled out with a pen or pencil; or allows people to make a determination about the "intent of the voter"; or if we are not relying on boxes of ballots being shipped between here to there.
So as long as it's a touch screen and a computer printout that removes all questions as how someone voted, and does not include anything that can be lost or found. I have no issues.
Of course, if the machine can be "hacked" then I guess the paper trail that prints out can also be "hacked" as well. So it's sort of a false sense of security at the end of the day. My gut feeling is that Democrats figure that computerizing the elections prevents them from being able to manipulate vote totals in places like Broward County Florida or King County Washington.
Keep in mind that a computer program pays you, it stores your money in the bank, it keeps track of your taxes, it keeps tabs on your driver's license, your passport, any criminal records, most every employment record...
I am curious as to why you feel comfortable with your $49 in savings being left out on a hard drive to be "hacked" - but you want to take a #2 pencil and a piece of paper to fill out your ballot because you are afraid that the machine will be "hacked".
