Ms. Harris announced a plan aimed at reducing the racial gap in homeownership, including $100 billion to help black families and individuals buy homes in historically redlined communities, where banks systematically denied them loans. The money would help cover down payments and closing costs for up to four million families or individuals, providing home buyers with up to $25,000 each.So did we already forget the great recession of 2008? You know, the one caused by the absolute collapse of the housing industry due to to too many overextended subprime home loans? Why did these loans become a problem? Because the government (and not the banking industry) became more/less responsible for the make up of those who received loans. In order to satisfy the quotas set up by the Government, banks were forced to come up with creative ways to provide loans to people who otherwise would not have qualified for them. The amount of these home loans that went into default was massive (as well as expected by those in the banking industry), and basically set off the financial crisis that led to the 2008 recession.
Now you see Harris (and no doubt other Democrats will follow) wanting to lead us down the same track of pushing banks into providing loans to people who otherwise don't qualify for them. Make no mistake here, "redlining" is not a legal practice, and it certainly does not exist "systematically" to prevent people of color from buying houses. The industry is closely monitored for these sorts of things, and you can rest assured that if someone is denied a loan, it's because they didn't have the finances and credit to qualify. Doing otherwise would lead to massive fines, and possible criminal charges against people running the banks in question. The fact that less black people might qualify is going to be a matter of finances, not color.
At a time when black unemployment is down, black finances are up, and blacks are simply making gains on their own, it's no wonder that Democrats are going to pull out all the stops to try to keep them on the Government teat. Given the choice between a better chance to do things on your own, and free government shit, who knows which way it goes. But liberals have yet to offer blacks and minorities any other hopes for a better life that doesn't include free government shit, so this is their only play.

News outlets have reported over the past several months that undocumented immigrants, a group that since he began his presidential campaign President Trump has aggressively maligned, disparaged, and wanted out of the country, work in a number of Trump’s properties.
The President hasn’t spoken on the matter for months, but recently more stories appeared detailing how his properties have hired undocumented workers. On Friday, he was asked by The New York Times if the very people he has vowed to keep out of the country still work on his golf courses. “I don’t know because I don’t run it,” he replied.
“But I would say this,” he added. “Probably every club in the United States has that because it seems to be, from what I understand, a way that people did business.”
The Times reported in December that several undocumented immigrants were employed at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ. The organization also reportedly hired undocumented immigrants to work in hotel and resort properties in Philadelphia, Westchester County, NY, and Jupiter, Florida.
Following the revelations, the Trump Organization reportedly fired dozens of undocumented works on staff and said it would begin using “E-Verify,” a program in that checks Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security records to ensure that new hires are legally allowed to work in the US.
This is not the first time the issue has been raised. Last year, Vox found that only one in 144 jobs went to American workers at three of Trump’s properties amid his “Buy American, Hire American” push.

Trump businesses have used the program since at least 2013, according to Vox.
On Friday, Sandra Diaz, a previously undocumented immigrant who worked as a housekeeper at Trump’s Bedminster club from 2010 and 2013 told the New York Daily News that the Trump organization still has undocumented workers on staff.
“He’s still lying,” Diaz said, “as always.”
