Something wrong with Joe?

You can hide, but you can't run?
The campaign has Joe on a short leash as his "gaffes" continue to pile up. The bigger (real) problem is that it's becoming obvious that Joe is no longer just committing gaffes, but that he just might be losing his marbles.

I really believe Joe Biden is in the first stages of dementia. They are hiding it because they know they are totally screwed will all of the other candidates.

Because it is only Biden who can woo the white working class back to the party.

It is only Biden who can keep the African-America base enthused. They don't hate Trump that much and they're not all that sure of the idea of a Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren. Ditto with Hispanic voters.

Without Biden the Democrats become the party of the elite white left-wing intelligentsia and nowhere a big enough base to hold off a landslide.

let's hope. all indicators point to a trump re-election, but after witnessing our nation be stupid enough to re-elect 0linsky, anything is possible. hopey-changey was an incredible con, and we fell for it the first time, but the second? that's when i really began to lose faith in the American electorate.

the allure of a mountain of free shit really is THAT strong.

BTW.....Kudlow the fraud completely missed the busch recession saying in december that he did not expect a recession....eerily sounding just like yesterday....Coke head is too old to be working....

Yep....nothing to worry about per trump......Blaming media for talking up a recession just to spite him!!!!! What a fucking aashole!!!!

WASHINGTON (AP) — A strong majority, 74%, of U.S. business economists appear sufficiently concerned about the risks of some of President Donald Trump's economic policies that they expect a recession in the U.S. by the end of 2021.

The economists surveyed by the National Association for Business Economics, in a report released Monday, mostly didn't share Trump's optimistic outlook for the economy, though they generally saw recession coming later than they did in a survey taken in February. Thirty-four percent of the economists surveyed said they believe a slowing economy will tip into recession in 2021. That's up from 25% in the February survey.

An additional 38% of those polled predicted that recession will occur next year, down slightly from 42% in February. Another 2% of those polled expect a recession to begin this year.

In February, 77% of the economists expected a recession either this year, next year or in 2021.

A strong economy is key to the Republican president's 2020 re-election prospects. Consumer confidence has dropped 6.4% since July.

Trump has dismissed concerns about a recession, offering an optimistic outlook for the economy after last week's steep drop in the financial markets. He said Sunday, "I don't think we're having a recession. We're doing tremendously well. Our consumers are rich. I gave a tremendous tax cut and they're loaded up with money."

Tariffs will now cost American households up to $1,000 per year: J.P. Morgan
Yahoo Finance Aarthi Swaminathan,Yahoo Finance 8 hours ago

d: 19 seconds
Tariffs are expected to cost American households up to $1,000 per year when the next round goes into effect on September 1, according to a new note by J.P. Morgan.

According to the bank’s analysts, the cost of the U.S.-China trade war borne by consumers is likely to rise from around $600 per year — based on the first two “phases” of the tariffs on Chinese imports — to around $1,000, based on the third round of tariffs.

That $1,000 figure assumes a 10% tariff on about $112 billion of Chinese imports, which U.S. President Donald Trump announced will begin next month. While he had initially proposed 10% tariffs on $300 billion worth of Chinese goods, he later scaled it back to exclude certain consumer products like cell phones, laptops, and toys.

If the tariff increase to 25% — as President Trump has threatened — the cost to consumers would rise to $1,500 per year, J.P. Morgan stated.

“What distinguishes China Phase III tariffs from preceding tariffs is the impact to Consumption and Capital goods,” analysts wrote. While previous tariffs focused more on “intermediate goods,” this batch “suggests that the expected consumer impact should be larger in the latest round,” the bank’s analysts wrote.

So much for another campaign promise you slurpers will just shrug off and swallow!!!!!

WASHINGTON – Donald Trump promised during his campaign that if he won the White House, he would wipe out the national debt in just eight years.

But in his first 2½ years in office, he has gone in the opposite direction.

Trump Friday signed into law a budget bill hammered out with leaders of the Democratic-led House and the Republican-controlled Senate. It was a rare bipartisan agreement but some in the GOP were furious over the increase in spending.

The legislation will add an estimated $1.7 trillion to the national debt over the next decade, according to an analysis by the nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

That’s not all: When other bills that Trump has signed are factored in, Trump’s total contribution to the national debt is projected to top $4.1 trillion, the budget watchdog group said.

“Our national debt is a self-inflicted wound,” said Maya MacGuineas, the group’s president. “It will take the kind of leadership that currently doesn't exist in Washington to fix.”

A spokesman for the White House Office of Management and Budget defended Trump's fiscal record.

"Washington has a spending problem and President Trump has committed to using every tool at his disposal to help get our fiscal house back in order," spokesman Jacob Wood said. "This can be seen through the many actions he’s taken: balanced budgets, rescissions package, and even deregulation efforts.

"This administration will continue to find areas where we can cut federal spending to ensure we provide relief to future generations of Americans. We encourage Congress to do the same."

The national debt already has grown at a fast clip and surpassed $22 trillion for the first time in February, a milestone that experts say is further proof the country is on an unsustainable financial path. As of Friday, the debt stood at $22.55 trillion.

Thanks.

President Trump spoke to reporters last night, Politico reports.

QUESTION: “But you’re not willing to support universal background checks right now?”

TRUMP: “I’m not saying anything. I’m saying Congress is going to be reporting back to me with ideas. And they’ll come in from Democrats and Republicans. And I’ll look at it very strongly. But just remember, we already have a lot of background checks. OK? Thank you.”

Playbook: “The president has trouble holding a position for more than a few days.”

Big Majority of Suburban Women Back Stricter Gun Control

A new Public Opinion Strategies (R) survey finds that 72% of suburban women think gun laws should be stricter, compared to 4% percent who said they should be less strict and 23% who said they should be kept as they are now.

In addition, 55% said they think stricter gun laws would help prevent gun violence. And 90% support requiring universal background checks for gun purchases at gun shows or other private sales, which would require all gun owners to file with a national firearms registry.

Furthermore, 76% said they would ban the purchase and use of semi-automatic assault-style weapons like the AK-47 and the AR-15.

Scaramucci Putting Together Coalition to Stop Trump

Anthony Scaramucci told CNN that he is putting together a coalition of former Trump Cabinet officials to denounce the President ahead of the 2020 election.

Said Scaramucci: “I’m in the process of putting together a team of people that feel the exact same way that I do. This is not a ‘Never Trump’ situation. This not just screeching rhetoric. This is — OK, the guy is unstable. Everyone inside knows it, everyone outside knows it. Let’s see if we can find a viable alternative.”

He added: “Moreover, I have to get some former Cabinet officials in unity to speak up about it. They know it’s a crisis.”

Scaramucci did not provide any names of people associated with the coalition he said he is assembling, but predicted that by “middle to late fall” there will be a “trove” of people willing to speak out against Trump.

Why Trump’s Focus on Race May Fail This Time

A new Reuters analysis of public opinion over the last four years suggests that President Trump’s brand of white identity politics may be less effective in the 2020 election campaign.

“It showed that people who rejected racial stereotypes were more interested in voting in the 2020 general election than those who expressed stronger levels of anti-black or anti-Hispanic biases.”

“In 2016, it was the reverse. The Reuters analysis shows that Trump’s narrow win came at a time when Americans with strong anti-black opinions were the more politically engaged group.”
