Funny to hear liberals demand that GOP is being "unfair" regarding GOP primary
This makes complete sense for the GOP as nobody that is running against the President is doing so because they believe that they can actually beat the President. All three of the so called Candidates are basically Never-Trumpers, and arguably Sandford is running because he has a personal ax to grind. In other words, none of them are running for the good of the Party, but rather they are running to try to disrupt and undermine Trump.
So of course, Democrats are upset that Republicans are not providing these Never-Trumpers to have their forum to disrupt things. But, I would bet you a dollar that either CNN or MSNBC will offer to host some sort of GOP debate for the candidates who are running against Trump. The problem is that the only people who would watch it are Democrats and those in the quickly decreasing ranks of Never-Trumpers.

Another lying cheating asshole running as an R!!!!! What a sorry sack of crap who even makes trump look normal!!!!
The announcement didn't go well.
Suggestion - maybe he can debate with all the crazy democrats on one stage, he would fit right in.
btw does CNN supply them with name tags or just show their names on the screen when they speak?
And would be a great to have O'Rourke skateboard in on the next debate, Warren do an entry dance (maybe in full tribal gear), Biden to run in backwards, Harris come in on her knees and Yang to body surf in. Not sure what the others signature moves would be.
Would help ratings and people could identify them.
Not sure what the others signature moves would be
- Booker would come in with full Spartacus gear.
- Bernie would come in throwing money around
- Nobody would notice Klobuchar coming in.
- I believe there are a myriad of Buttigeig possibilities, but none of them appropriate.
Oh, there will be a LOT of interest in looking at anyone bold enough to challenge HIS MAJESTY THE DONALD.
Maybe the truth will set you free, Lil Scotty.....Your flinging shit to see what sticks is the sign of a small, infected mind!!!!

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s acting chief scientist said in an email to colleagues Sunday that he is investigating whether the agency’s response to President Trump’s Hurricane Dorian tweets constituted a violation of NOAA policies and ethics.
In an email to NOAA staff that was obtained by The Washington Post, the official, Craig McLean, called the agency’s response “political” and a “danger to public health and safety.”
[NOAA staff warned in Sept. 1 directive against contradicting Trump]
President Trump’s incorrect assertion on Sept. 1 that Alabama “would most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated" set off a chain of confusion and outrage among the public, and within NOAA. At the time, the National Weather Service’s forecast guidance showed only a very small risk (about 5 percent) of tropical storm-force winds for a small portion of Alabama. However, Alabama was not in the storm forecast track from the National Hurricane Center, which showed Hurricane Dorian skirting the East Coast.

While the NWS’s Birmingham office set the record straight, stating Alabama “would not see impacts” from the storm, NOAA officials caused an internal uproar on Sept. 6 when the agency issued an unsigned statement that defended Trump’s false claim about Alabama and admonished the Weather Service’s Birmingham division for speaking “in absolute terms.”
[NOAA backs Trump on Alabama hurricane forecast, rebukes Weather Service for accurately contradicting him]
Scientists attacked NOAA officials for conceding to Trump during a weather emergency, when accuracy and messaging are vital to keep the public safe. The American Meteorological Society issued a statement of support for the NWS, writing: “AMS believes the criticism of the Birmingham forecast office is unwarranted; rather they should have been commended for their quick action based on science in clearly communicating the lack of threat to the citizens of Alabama."
Chief Scientist to Investigate Why Agency Backed Trump
“The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s acting chief scientist said in an email to colleagues Sunday that he is investigating whether the agency’s response to President Trump’s Hurricane Dorian tweets constituted a violation of NOAA policies and ethics,” the Washington Post reports.
“In an email to NOAA staff that was obtained by The Washington Post, the official, Craig McLean, called the agency’s response ‘political’ and a ‘danger to public health and safety.'”

Oh well, now. THAT investigation is obviously nothing more than purely political.
No, wait. It's actually an investigation into whether what the agency did was purely and unethically political.

House Judiciary Will Vote to Open Impeachment Probe
The House Judiciary Committee laid out specific committee procedures governing hearings moving forward as part of what it’s calling an ongoing “impeachment investigation” of President Trump, setting the stage for a vote to define that probe which could come this week, NBC News reports.
“The vote, expected Thursday and confirmed to NBC News by a source familiar with the committee’s plans, will include language that is expected to follow the procedures the Judiciary Committee used in 1974 during the Nixon impeachment proceedings.”
_____________
Better keep the White House straight jacket handy. Donald will be bouncing off the walls. And ceiling.
"President Trump went to great lengths to obstruct Special Counsel [Robert] Mueller’s investigation, including the President’s attempts to remove the Special Counsel and encourage witnesses to lie and to destroy or conceal evidence," Nadler said in a statement accompanying the release. "Anyone else who did this would face federal criminal prosecution.
"No one is above the law," Nadler added. "The unprecedented corruption, coverup, and crimes by the President are under investigation by the Committee as we determine whether to recommend articles of impeachment or other Article 1 remedies. The adoption of these additional procedures is the next step in that process and will help ensure our impeachment hearings are informative to Congress and the public, while providing the President with the ability to respond to evidence presented against him."
....The decision to draft a resolution laying out the boundaries of the investigation was first reported by Politico last week and later confirmed by NBC News. A vote on the resolution would be the first formal vote as part of the Judiciary Committee's impeachment investigation.
The release comes just as members return from a six-week recess. During that time, the committee has expanded their probe to include potential violations of the Constitution's Emoluments Clause and hush payments made during the 2016 presidential campaign to two women who said they had had affairs with Trump, relationships he has denied.
Well Denny...
Again, the media reports are actually quite wrong as they generally are.
- Trump didn't tweet anything "specific" about Alabama.
- Trump included Alabama in the list of states that could be affected.
- Trump tweet was in response to Dorian rising in levels of category.
- Regardless of your MSM fake news story, the archived maps stand. Period.
- Even if the NWS showed only 5% chance of Alabama getting hit, then Birmingham was factually wrong to give an absolute statement defying that.
Lastly... I don't believe for one second that a "tweet" by the President caused any sort of "confusion" or "outrage". That's simply absurd.
But keep digging with more MSM stories that I will continue to laugh at!
The more ridiculous the better! It's fun to watch you struggle!!!
I strongly suspect that this particular "chief scientist" and his investigation are both moot issues. A week from now, nobody is going to give a bigger shit.
The only thing this does at this point is undercut the reputation of the NOAA... which is completely fine by me, considering they are obviously infested with a bunch of Trump hating morons willing to cut off their own noses to spite their faces!

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — The head of the National Weather Service issued a strong public defense Monday of forecasters who contradicted President Donald Trump's claim that Hurricane Dorian posed a threat to Alabama as it approached the United States.
Director Louis Uccellini said forecasters in Birmingham did the right thing Sept. 1 when they tried to combat public panic and rumors that Dorian posed a threat to Alabama. It was only later that they found out the source of the mistaken information, he said.
Speaking at a meeting of the National Weather Association, Uccellini said Birmingham forecasters "did what any office would do to protect the public."
"They did that with one thing in mind: public safety," said Uccellini, who prompted a standing ovation from hundreds of forecasters by asking members of the Birmingham weather staff to stand.
Earlier, the president of the 2,100-member association, Paul Schlatter, said any forecast office "would have done the exact same thing" as the Birmingham forecast office.
Trump has defended his tweet about Alabama, and he displayed an altered forecast map in the Oval Office last week in an attempt to make his point. Apparently siding with the president, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued an unsigned statement critical of the Birmingham forecasters Friday.
But Alabama had never been included in hurricane advisories and Trump's information, based on less authoritative computer models than an official forecast, was outdated when he sent a tweet saying Alabama could be affected by Dorian.
Discussing the flurry of social media contacts and phone calls that followed Trump's tweet, Uccellini said Birmingham forecasters used "an emphasis they deemed essential to shut down what they thought were rumors" when they posted on social media that Alabama's wasn't at risk.
"Only later, when the retweets and politically based comments started coming to their office, did they learn the sources of this information," he said.

President Trump prolonged a weeklong controversy over the projected path of Hurricane Dorian, sharing a cat video late Saturday night that mocked coverage of his incorrect claims about the storm’s path.
The meme, which was originally shared by a pro-Trump Twitter account with the caption, “Live look at CNN,” showed the president holding a forecast map while a cat plays with a laser pointer to the instrumental tune of “Yakety Sax.”

As of Sunday, the storm has been blamed for at least 50 deaths, predominantly in the Bahamas, which bore the brunt of the destruction. Tens of thousands of people have been left homeless.
The tweet was just in the latest in Trump’s relentless, weeklong Twitter broadsides against the media for its coverage of his false claims last Sunday that Alabama was in the storm’s path.
That day, Trump claimed on Twitter that Alabama would “most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated” despite official reports that stated otherwise. Trump then told reporters that it looked like Alabama would “get a piece” of the storm.
At the time, National Weather Service’s (NWS) projections had Alabama in the clear as Dorian curved northward off the East Coast.

You've had as rough 2 days of getting your arse handed to you. You'd be better off retiring with a pie
Actuating trying to defend......Is that antidotal
Just reading his actual quotes and was struck by what he didn't say.
1. That the Birmingham forecasters made the correct call based on the facts the quote was '""did what any office would do to protect the public.""They did that with one thing in mind: public safety,". Which is a far difference proposition than being correct on the facts.
2. That the NHC and Trump was wrong on the facts. he did not contradict them at all.
Still I wonder what he would have said if people were hurt or kill because a storm spawned tornado wiped out an Alabama neighborhood. Which are in fact common occurrence in the feeder bands far away from the eye.
Nowhere does it say the eye will be over Alabama as Roger REPEATEDLY claimed yesterday.
No different than it hitting alabama much harder than anticipated......seems reasonable that the eye could be inferred hitting Bama is a reasonable conclusion to what trump said, you DUMB FUCKING LOSER!!!!!
2. That the NHC and Trump was wrong
How was the NHC wrong asshole????? Trump was making his own forecast, which is Illegal.....!!!!!
Fatboy that's the best you can come up with?

NO HE WASN'T.. THE WIND SPEED PROBABILITY HAD ALL OF BAMA AT FUCKING ZERO!!!!! CHECK OUT DISCUSSION 30 DATED 9-1 WHICH TRUMP IGNORED.....DAYUM I POSTED THAT DATA YESTERDAY....HAVE YOU FORGETTEN ALREADY?????
Discussing the flurry of social media contacts and phone calls that followed Trump's tweet, Uccellini said Birmingham forecasters used "an emphasis they deemed essential to shut down what they thought were rumors" when they posted on social media that Alabama's wasn't at risk.
"Only later, when the retweets and politically based comments started coming to their office, did they learn the sources of this information," he said.
So what Birmingham did, admittedly, was simply assume that the President was incorrect and that he was just "spreading rumors" about Alabama.
"Only later ... did they learn the sources of this information"
Which of course was the NOAA itself and the maps from then NHC. I wonder why Birmingham didn't contact the NOAA to see if they might have presented this information to the President.
Ironically they are admitting the worst allegations here (that they made a rogue judgement call based on their own opinion that the President was spreading false rumors)... but still defending it as the correct call.
Moreover this story still incorrectly states as "fact" that the reports were "inaccurate and outdated" when Trump tweet it. The NOAA is specifically and still currently stating that Alabama was in their reports until Sept 2nd. Not only that, but the NOAA is providing links that show this.
Apparently cognitive dissonance is such that people hate Trump so much that they cannot bother to click on a link.
Trump was making his own forecast, which is Illegal.....!!!!!
Take it up with the NOAA
From Wednesday, August 28, through Monday, September 2, the information provided by NOAA and the National Hurricane Center to President Trump and the wider public demonstrated that tropical-storm-force winds from Hurricane Dorian could impact Alabama. This is clearly demonstrated in Hurricane Advisories #15 through #41, which can be viewed at the following link.
The Birmingham National Weather Service’s Sunday morning tweet spoke in absolute terms that were inconsistent with probabilities from the best forecast products available at the time.

WASHINGTON — The Secretary of Commerce threatened to fire top employees at NOAA on Friday after the agency’s Birmingham office contradicted President Trump’s claim that Hurricane Dorian might hit Alabama, according to three people familiar with the discussion.
That threat led to an unusual, unsigned statement later that Friday by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration disavowing the office’s own position that Alabama was not at risk. The reversal caused widespread anger within the agency and drew criticism from the scientific community that NOAA, a division of the Commerce Department, had been bent to political purposes.
Officials at the White House and the Commerce Department declined to comment on administration involvement in the NOAA statement.
The actions by the Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur L. Ross Jr., are the latest developments in a political imbroglio that began more than a week ago, when Dorian was bearing down on the Bahamas and Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter that Alabama would be hit “harder than anticipated.” A few minutes later, the National Weather Service in Birmingham, Ala., posted on Twitter that “Alabama will NOT see any impacts from Dorian. We repeat, no impacts from Hurricane Dorian will be felt across Alabama.”
Wilbur Ross another old white bigot that needs to go away!!!! Sad, weather is now a political tool for the idiots of the right like cramps, Lil Scotty and others who don't even know who is zooming who in the hierarchy of the commerce department.....Maybe they will all learn a little something from their exercise of futility and stupidity defending the liar in chief who is still the liar in chief!!!!

For the wantonly lazy cramps to quell his lack intellect
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's acting chief scientist said in an email to colleagues Sunday that he is investigating whether the agency's response to President Donald Trump's Hurricane Dorian tweets constituted a violation of NOAA policies and ethics. Also on Monday, the director of the National Weather Service broke with NOAA leadership over its handling of Trump's Dorian tweets and statements.
In an email to NOAA staff that was obtained by The Washington Post, the official, Craig McLean, called the agency's response "political" and a "danger to public health and safety."
Trump's incorrect assertion on Sept. 1 that Alabama "would most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated" set off a chain of confusion and outrage among the public, and within NOAA. At the time, the National Weather Service's forecast guidance showed only a very small risk (about 5%) of tropical-storm-force winds for a small portion of Alabama. However, Alabama was not in the storm forecast track from the National Hurricane Center, which showed Hurricane Dorian skirting the East Coast.
While the NWS's Birmingham, Alabama office set the record straight, stating Alabama "would not see impacts" from the storm, NOAA officials caused an internal uproar on Sept. 6 when the agency issued an unsigned statement that defended Trump's false claim about Alabama and admonished the Weather Service's Birmingham division for speaking "in absolute terms." Acting NOAA administrator Neil Jacobs and NOAA communications director Julie Kay Roberts were involved in drafting Friday's statement.
NOAA and NWS had also appeared to try to correct the record without angering the president. According to emails obtained by The Post, prior to the statement on Friday, NOAA staff were instructed to "only stick with official National Hurricane Center forecasts if questions arise from some national-level social media posts which hit the news this afternoon" and not to "provide any opinion" in response to Trump's initial Alabama tweets.
The agency sent a similar message warning scientists and meteorologists not to speak out on Sept. 4, after Trump showed a hurricane map from Aug. 29 modified with a hand-drawn, half-circle in black Sharpie around Alabama.
Scientists attacked NOAA officials for conceding to Trump during a weather emergency, when accuracy and messaging are vital to keep the public safe.
The American Meteorological Society issued a statement of support for the NWS, writing: "AMS believes the criticism of the Birmingham forecast office is unwarranted; rather they should have been commended for their quick action based on science in clearly communicating the lack of threat to the citizens of Alabama."
In his email to employees Sunday, McLean criticized his agency's public statement, saying it prioritized politics over NOAA's mission.
This headline should annoy the lily white old man Lil Scotty than admitting being wrong.....BWAAAAAAAA!!!

When Mónica Hernández told her husband that her 2019 New Year’s resolution was to go back to work, he was surprised. He kept asking her if that’s what she really wanted to do. She had been out of the workforce for a year after a difficult pregnancy and the birth of their first child.
“I want to put my brain to use,” Hernández told her husband. “Now my son is here, and it makes me want to do even more.”
Hernández, 28, landed a job this spring as a part-time receptionist at Impressions Pediatric Therapy in Maryland, making her part of a surge of Hispanic and African American women who are entering the workforce amid one of the hottest labor markets in U.S. history.
Today, she earns $15 an hour, a big jump from the $9-an-hour cashier jobs she once thought would be her working life. Clients like that Hernández is bilingual, and the owner of the fast-growing therapy practice just offered her a full-time position.
The surge of minority women getting jobs has helped push the U.S. workforce across a historic threshold. For the first time, most new hires of prime working age (25 to 54) are people of color, according to a Washington Post analysis of data the Labor Department began collecting in the 1970s. Minority hires overtook white hires last year.
Holy Shit Lil Scotty.....seems voters are coming out of their trump induced coma!!!! 38% gotta suck being you!!!!
Trump’s approval rating falls amid recession, trade war fears
President Trump’s approval rating in the Washington Post-ABC News poll stands at 38 percent, down from 44 percent in June. The survey highlights how one of Trump’s central arguments for reelection — the strong U.S. economy — is beginning to show signs of potential turmoil.

We worked for the NOAA. Political appointees can’t overrule scientists.

Jane Lubchenco (2009-2013), D. James Baker (1993-2001) and Kathryn D. Sullivan (2013-2017) are former administrators of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Monday brought the welcome news that National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration career leaders are pushing back against political interference with weather forecasts. Craig McLean, the acting chief scientist , is investigating the agency’s apparent attempts to defend President Trump’s inaccurate statements about the danger to Alabama from Hurricane Dorian. And another career civil servant, National Weather Service Director Louis Uccellini, publicly defended the “integrity of the forecasting process.”
Weather forecasting should never be political. The National Weather Service, an agency within NOAA, issues forecasts and warnings that are based on science and focused squarely on public safety. For more than a century, the agency has played a vital role in protecting the lives and property of Americans across the country.
Everyone with a brain has come forward and called trumps WX warning for Alabama was incorrect and dangerous.....Now cramps will complain that day 9 of this story is too much, but fundamentally, if you can't trust the asshole in chief's words.....who can you trust as they slurp another load of BS!!!
apparently what happened last week. As the potentially dangerous weather conditions caused by Hurricane Dorian rapidly evolved, NOAA officials in Washington overrode sound science and undercut NWS professionals, apparently to provide cover for the president, who on Sept. 1 had posted inaccurate information on Twitter. Worse, NOAA officials, in an unsigned statement, had the gall on Sept. 6 to chastise NWS forecasters in Birmingham, Ala., for telling the public — correctly — that Alabama was not actually endangered.
