Sorry but James Comey was not a Whistleblower

This has been the latest of silly illogical ramblings from the left. We just got back a scathing IG report that left little doubt that James Comey abused the office of FBI director, broke rules of the FBI, broke his employment contract, set a poor example for thousands of FBI agents, and ultimately pushed the edges of defying the actual laws regarding possession of and leaking of classified information. One might think that this might put these Comey fans in their place a little and maybe having them rethink their support. But lo and behold, necessity is the mother of invention, and these Comey apologists were definity feeling the need to make something up.

So what they came up with is the idea that Comey was not so much an FBI director pushing a false and unverified narrative of the President, but rather Comey was a hero whistleblower who provided information that otherwise would have been shut down. The reality is that James Comey didn't trust that an investigation that was going nowhere, never found anything, and never had any chance to find anything would perform the ultimate political service he wanted it to. So Comey did what he had to do to make sure that the general public was aware of the nonsensical and completely unverified theory that our President was committing treason with a hostile foreign country. 

That is only whistleblowing if you actually reject the notion that our system of justice revolves around the concept that people are innocent until proven guilty and the idea that law enforcement does not make public allegations against people unless they are able to produce enough evidence to make a case. Make no mistake here folks. James Comey had no evidence of this conspiracy. He stated so under oath during Congressional hearings. He also probably had no reason to suspect that there would ever be any evidence of a conspiracy. But like many dishonest Trump hating liberals, the truth wasn't as important as his political objectives.

So the only whistleblowing James Comey did was to make public a bought and paid for fake dossier that we now know probably including little more than Russian misinformation designed to attack the credibility of the President. He didn't whistle blow any corruption, or expose any wrongdoing by anyone other than himself and the rest of the weasels in the intelligence community that had a hand in this. What he did was use his position to make sure a politically motivated document (that was unverified and incredible) was exposed to the public, because he (like those who bought and paid for it) wanted to make sure that it did what it was designed to do: damage a President he personally did not like.
