Proof of Kavanaugh's perjury is welcome, but conservatives basically don't think sexual assault is a big deal
The debate over whether the most recent Supreme Court justice perjured himself during his Senate hearing last year — which would be an impeachable offense — fired up again over the weekend, after New York Times reporters Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly published new evidence confirming stories that Kavanaugh whipped out his penis on not just one, but perhaps two non-consenting women as a student at Yale in the 1980s. The article was promoting Pogrebin and Kelly's new book, "The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation," which showcases a year's worth of in-depth research into Kavanaugh's past. They interviewed many witnesses the FBI overlooked during its own investigation of Kavanaugh's background.
Reality is that there is no "debate" here and these new unfounded allegations dishonestly reported by the NY Times was only designed to revive the emotional problems associated with these exact sort of people who cannot get past the fact that Kavanaugh was confirmed, in spite of their best efforts to smear him with previous unfounded allegations.
The only similarities between these issues is that they are all unfounded and that they rely on illogical memories of people that are countered by the lack of memory by other people who were supposedly involved.
Of the five people supposedly involved in the Christine Ford allegation, nobody besides her remembers anything about it. Her "friend" who had no recollection of these events originally told people that she still believed Ford. But now she has come out and stated that she actually does not believe Ford and that she felt "pressured" by Ford supporters into saying differently.
The first penis in the face allegation was made by someone who admitted that she never actually saw anything, was not sure what happened, or even if Kavanaugh had anything to do with it. Only after consulting with a Democratic operative (posing as a neutral attorney) did she decide that she must have been harassed by Kavanaugh. Again, this event was not witnessed by anyone, including those she claimed would have been there.
In the recent allegation against Kavanaugh, the witness wasn't personally involved, and there is literally nobody else (including the supposed victim) who remembers the events. Moreover, the events in question do not even make physical sense (as in, it would be nearly physically impossible to recreate what this person said they saw).
These people (who continue to demand that Kavanaugh is guilty... of something) generally litter their opinions not with any actual proof of what they are saying, but rather make much of things like "white privilege" and some idea that everyone is dumb enough and emotional enough to believe the unbelievable, but just don't admit to it because some good old boys club mentality.
Let me make this easy on you. Kavanaugh did not sexually assault any of these women. I am as certain as certain can be about this. It's neither "white privilege" or a "good old boy" mentality that leads me to this conclusion. It is simply the objective facts.

Sad that the trump FBI under trumps thumb did such a shitty investigation on Brett.... They followed the bosses lead and did the minimum work to pass a red face test....typical trump to get away with the BS.....money corrupts absolutely and donnie is the poster child....
What shitty investigation would that be? No one was willing to purjur themselves. Senator Grassley reached out to the woman 7 times. She doesn't recall it ever happening.
By continuing to grasp to this completely unsupported, unsubstantiated accusation, you once again show us that we don't call you dopie for nothing.

Good one asshole....they didn't interview all the potential witnesses.....sad you think that is okay....but trumps constant perjury is just fine.....Grassley's vain attempt was just that.....piss poor and biased!!!! Did you say something?
@Doc_0
Call me crazy, but if a old smear was reheated against a Democrat Supreme Court justice and the key figure had deep ties to Trump or Bush, the media would consider that a very important part of the story rather than a minor detail scarcely worth mentioning
hey, and all kinds of people not yet interviewed by the FBI are born everyday. THEY MUST BE HEARD !! BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the stranger turns in the NYT/Kavanaugh saga is @rpogrebin's suggestion that we should not believe the alleged female victim (who doesn't recall the incident) -- because she may have been drunk.
Believe all women.. unless they hurt the narrative.

in August. A drilling rig in New Mexico
The numbers: U.S. industrial production jumped 0.6% in August, the largest increase in a year, the Federal Reserve reported Tuesday. Output in July was revised to a 0.1% decline from the prior estimate of a 0.2% drop.
Wall Street had expected a 0.4% rebound, according to a MarketWatch survey.
What happened: The increase was due mainly to a surge in mining output, which includes oil and gas production. Mining output jumped 1.4%, almost completely reversing a 1.5% decline in the prior month. Utilities output rose 0.6%.
Manufacturing production rebounded as well in August, rising 0.5% after a 0.4% decline in July.
Output for motor vehicles and parts fell 1% in August after a 0.5% gain in the prior month. Excluding autos, manufacturing rose 0.6%.
Capacity utilization rose to 77.9% in August, the highest rate since March. The capacity utilization rate reflects the limits to operating the nation’s factories, mines and utilities. It’s still below pre-2008 recession levels, above 80%, that could increase production costs and prices.
Big picture: U.S. manufacturing remains in a recession due to weakness in the global economy and Trump’s trade war with China. The weakness is a main reason why the Federal Reserve is expected to cut its benchmark interest rate for the second time this year on Wednesday. The industrial sector could also be hurt by the strike at General Motors Co. GM, -0.21% , now in its second day.
What are they saying? “We expect the trend in manufacturing output to fall through the end of the year, at least,” said Ian Shepherdson, chief economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics. He said the two factors boosting production in August — crude oil and manufacturing output — won’t last.
Roger is a no body according to one of his fellow travelers.

NYT authors @rpogrebin and @katekelly conceded the lack of evidence for anti-Kavanaugh forces, but said that their "gut" told them to believe them. One "reason" they cited? Pro-Kavanaugh witnesses "kept mum." That was yet another lie they spread.
"720,000,000. woman going back to work"
Oh Joe.
@salty_dawg69
I wonder if the NYT is holding back on reporting on the Ilhan Omar scandal(s) that are going on because they’d hate to get the story wrong because they jumped the gun?

A rush to judgement.
The authors of a hotly controversial new book about Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh said that Democratic presidential candidates calling for his impeachment were engaged in a “rush to judgment” without having actually read their “nuanced” account of the sexual misconduct allegations that were leveled against him.
“It’s dismaying to see the rush to judgment,” said Kate Kelly, a New York Times reporter and co-author of “The Education of Brett Kavanaugh,” in an interview on the Yahoo News podcast “Skullduggery.”
“We definitely have been grappling with it for sure,” said co-author and fellow Times reporter Robin Pogrebin when asked about the firestorm the initial accounts of their book triggered. “There was a sense going into this that nuance doesn’t make headlines, ... that people were going to pull stuff out. ... People saw what they wanted to see before learning any of the facts, or didn’t even make much of an effort to pay attention to the facts.”
At the same time, Kelly and Pogrebin acknowledged there were “errors in the process” of preparing an opinion article in the Sunday paper about their book that resulted in Times editors removing “significant” information favorable to Kavanaugh’s defense from an early draft.
The article stated that, in the course of researching their book, the authors had uncovered a “previously unreported” allegation that Kavanaugh, while a freshman at Yale University, was at a drunken dorm party where “friends pushed his penis” into the hand of a female student.
The allegation in the report triggered demands — led by a half-dozen Democratic presidential candidates, including Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg — for Kavanaugh to be impeached.
But the Times article left out a key detail that is included in the book: that the woman at the party in the new allegation never spoke to the authors and, according to several of her friends, didn’t recall the event ever happening.

Quite the contrary. They just proved to most people why a flawed Donald Trump is still a better (and now safer) option and any of the 21 Democrat dwarfs on the stage today with their tyrannical demands to outlaw and jail their political opponents and confiscate guns and wealth without due process.

I think with their selective pushing of false accusations and the deliberate hiding of exculpatory information that was exactly the effect they were shooting for.
And I don't think they foresaw Mollie Hemingway pull apart their story only 4 hours after it was published.

Beto discusses what it was like growing up as Napoleon Dynamite
You probably recognized the shooting political star Beto O’Rourke, but you might not be sure from what. In fact, Robert “Beto” O’Rourke was the star of the reality documentary Napoleon Dynamite. We sat down with Beto to discuss what it was like growing up with such notoriety.
Genesius Times: What was it like growing up in rural Idaho?
Beto: Well, you know, it was great. There was a lot of diversity, and as you know I befriended a Mexican immigrant, Pedro, and actually worked on his campaign for class president.
GT: Tell us about that. Do you think that makes you Mexican?
Beto: I am absolutely Mexican because otherwise, I wouldn’t have anything to run on. You see as a Democrat, you need to have intersectionality points and I’m pretty white bread without my phony Mexican identity, so yeah, I love my native Mexico. I’m Mexican.
GT: What ever happened to Pedro?
Beto: How the hell should I know?
GT: Moving on. Why are you running for president of Mexico?
Beto: I believe that is where I’m at home, so that’s what I feel I have to offer. That’s why I’m such a critic of the US President and his horrible rhetoric about immigration. America should be much more hospitable to the people of my country.
GT: What do you think of fake news?
Beto: We should really only have one fake news network—CNN. They’re the only ones who gets it right when they get it wrong.
GT: Chivas o América?
Beto: Not sure what that is . . . um America!
There is nothing unsupported about the FBI failure to investigate....asshole..
Other than the FBI generally doesn't investigation allegations of 30 years old events (well past any statute of limitation) that have no proof, corroboration, or relevance to any known Federal crime.
@BuckSexton
Now it comes out that oh so honest Max Stier has a wife, Florence Yu Pan, who was nominated by Obama to the DC Circuit Court, and GOP Senators let that nomination lapse
Of course, The NY Times didn’t think that was relevant info to his absurd Kavanaugh allegation
Of course.
The Lost Years were not terrible.
The other thing that is helpful is not watching TV or reading social media."
Why it matters: Obama has largely avoided major criticisms of President Trump, but he used his comments at a conference for Splunk, a company that helps businesses make sense of their data, to draw a contrast between the two administrations.
Obama admitted during his speech that he made mistakes in hiring. "I won’t say we enforced perfectly the 'no-jerk rulem' but its a pretty good rule. I won’t say who violated that rule."
He then added: "I'm proud of the fact we didn’t have indictments. I’ve said that before but that is pretty rare in modern day." Special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation resulted in the indictments of 6 former Trump advisers.
Other highlights: Obama said there are tough calls you have to make as president, citing the decision to go after Osama Bin Laden as a 50-50 call and bailing out Chrysler as a 60-40-type decision.
To make those calls, Obama said, you need the facts without spin or sugar-coating, as well as a diversity of opinion.
Obama added that it's also important that the people who serve in the administration aren't there for fame or money: "Are folks here because they want to serve the American people?"
Obama cited healthcare as one of the key areas where Big Data can help, both to cut costs and improve outcomes.
"Almost our entire federal deficit, at least when I was president, could be accounted by what we spend on health care vs. what other industrialized countries spend" to get similar outcomes
The government, he said, has tons of data from running Medicare and Medicaid. "All that stuff is really powerful. It can be powerful for researchers, it can be powerful for policy makers."
But, he added, medical data is at the same time highly personal and individual privacy needs to be protected.
Obama said that there are "a handful of big issues that if we don’t get right we have real problems. You can anticipate what those might be. Climate change is a big problem."
"Ultimately, it is a moral decision we make that we are, as much as possible, going to mitigate this problem we’ve created."
Obama also warned about income inequality and people living in filter bubbles, a problem he said is exacerbated by social media. "That's not healthy for a democracy and it's not healthy between countries. That's how wars get started and bad things happen."
On a lighter note, Obama acknowledged he remains a Chicago Bulls fan, but admitted: "It’s been a while since we were as competitive as we would like."
As for the local team, the Golden State Warriors, Obama praised the team and its coach and said it can survive the loss of star Kevin Durant. "You’ll be fine. Steve Kerr is a great coach, and more than that he is a good man."
There may be some rebuilding needed, but he said the team has created a culture that will endure and help that process. "Their best players just care about the team and are willing to make sacrifices.

Janet Reno determined that Special Counsel should investigate whether or not Bill Clinton attempted to get Monica Lewinsky to provide false testimony regarding a civil suit that he was involved in at the time. He was being investigated for perjury, witness tampering, and obstruction.
Something you have no issues watching Congress investigate today?

Lying about anything, except if a Democrat lies.
Trump's campaign manager admitted to lying and you don't care. You lie about the President every single day.
Fox News has no pride whatsoever
Fox News and its peers in the mainstream media seldom find common cause, though extraordinary circumstances occasionally give them opportunity to do so. Like the time in 2009 that the Obama people tried to bar Fox News from an interview; other media protested. Or the revocation of the White House press pass of Jim Acosta last year; Fox News joined the fight against this whimsical act.
The events of Tuesday afternoon appeared to present another such occasion. “I have no obligation to be honest with the media, because they’re just as dishonest as anybody else.” That’s what former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said in testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. Talk about a middle finger thrust in the face of journalism.
That recollection conflicted with Vol. II of the Mueller report, which details explicit instructions from President Trump to Lewandowski to have Sessions meddle in the special counsel’s investigation. The Berke-Lewandowski exchange continued:
BERKE: Do you hear that, sir? That was you saying, on MSNBC, you don’t ever remember the president ever asking you to get involved with Jeff Sessions or the Department of Justice in any way, shape or form. That wasn’t true, was it, sir?
LEWANDOWSKI: I heard that.
BERKE: And that was not true, was it.
LEWANDOWSKI: I have no obligation to be honest with the media, because they’re just as dishonest as anybody else.
BERKE: So — so you’re admitting, sir, you were not being truthful in that clip. Correct?
LEWANDOWSKI: My interview with Ari Melber ...
BERKE: Yes.
LEWANDOWSKI: Can be interpreted any way you'd like.
BERKE: Let me — would you like me to play it again?
LEWANDOWSKI: You're welcome to, please.
BERKE: All right. One more time.
(BEGIN VIDEO)
LEWANDOWSKI: I don’t ever remember the president ever asking me to get involved with Jeff Sessions or the Department of Justice in any way shape or form ever.
MELBER: OK. So — so ...
(END VIDEO)
BERKE: And sir, it is true in May 2019 you absolutely remembered when the president asked you to deliver a message to the attorney general of a speech for him to give related to the special counsel investigation, isn’t that correct?
LEWANDOWSKI: I’d have to think about it.

I sometimes shout out, but physical abuse, never. The two or three times, many years ago, a couple guys, hit me. I never fought back. I'm a fairly tall and strong man. I'm a gym rat. But I have always been a pacifist, and don't want to fight anyone.

Trump is not following orders from the neocons. His erratic behavior is troubling to our allies. And beyond that he doesn't want to go to war in the middle east.
I am giving him a couple little credit for not starting a new war in Iran. But his decision to withdraw from the treaty because Obama made the treaty, has made the middle east a little bit less stable.

A whistleblower complaint by an intelligence official about a private presidential phone call would be an extraordinary development, likely without precedent in U.S. history.
It was not immediately clear which foreign leader Trump was speaking with or what he pledged to deliver, The Post reported. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The office of Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire and the office of House intelligence committee chairman Adam Schiff had no comment Wednesday night about the report.

Over the last several days, the secret whistleblower complaint has been the subject of an increasingly acrimonious standoff between the acting intelligence chief and Schiff, who has demanded Maguire's testimony and a copy of the complaint. Maguire has agreed to testify publicly next week, Schiff announced Wednesday.
The inspector general “determined that this complaint is both credible and urgent,” Schiff said in the statement released Wednesday evening. “The committee places the highest importance on the protection of whistleblowers and their complaints to Congress.”
The matter burst into public view Friday, when Schiff disclosed that an unspecified whistleblower complaint had been filed with the inspector general of the intelligence community, but was being withheld from his committee. That independent watchdog deemed the matter an “urgent concern” that he was required by law to turn over to the congressional intelligence committees.
The president of the United States has a phone call with another world leader is without president and a scandal??
You've lost your mind.
Updated
Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson determined that the complaint was credible and troubling enough to be considered a matter of “urgent concern,” a legal threshold that ordinarily requires notification of congressional oversight committees.

it's a bullshit story by MSDNC news' resident asshat - ken dilanian. he's the clown that feeds the shit to ralph maddow that he reports every night.
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/all/trump-communication-reportedly-center-whistleblower-complaint-n1056196
he's so wrong so often even the bozo's post has taken to mocking the guy:
NBC News correspondent Ken Dilanian on Monday turned in a desperate and half-baked story as he rushed to compete with a CNN scoop. The U.S. government in 2017, CNN’s Jim Sciutto reported, had extracted an intelligence asset from inside the Russian government. The story was silent on a key point: “Details of the extraction itself remain secret and the whereabouts of the asset today are unknown to CNN.”
Dilanian filled in a couple of those blanks. A former Russian official, he reported, had been living under his true name in the Washington region. There was no mention in the story of the fellow’s name: “NBC News is withholding the man’s name and other key details at the request of U.S. officials, who say reporting the information could endanger his life.” Dilanian knocked on the former official’s door and came face to face with a pair of “young men” who’d pulled up in an SUV. NBC News couldn’t be certain that the official was the same person at the center of the CNN story, but cited sources who believed as much.
Those actions earned the scorn of the Erik Wemple Blog, which called NBC News “really stupid.” There was, indeed, something for a scolding columnist to work with: Dilanian had told MSNBC host Rachel Maddow that a former Russian asset generally isn’t in danger until he’s "discovered by the media in the world and we all start writing about him. That essentially pokes the bear.”

In announcing on Wednesday his determination to revoke California’s longstanding authority to set its own air pollution standards, President Trump finds himself arrayed against the plain language of the Clean Air Act, California’s historical role as a laboratory for tough new environmental rules and the express wishes of several major automakers and two-thirds of the American people.
It is, further, one more intended nail in the coffin of President Barack Obama’s strategy to reduce greenhouse gases and, coming as it does on the eve of a big United Nations conference on global warming, a thumb in the eye to the rest of the world.
A monumental legal battle lies ahead. California’s authority to set its own pollution standards dates back to the 1960s, when the state passed laws to deal with its crippling smog problem. The federal Clean Air Act of 1970 codified that special authority, as long as the state could show a compelling need for standards stricter than the federal government’s. Congress has repeatedly reaffirmed that right, and in 1977 it said other states could legally opt in to California’s standards. Thirteen have now done so.
Over time, strategies adopted in California to control smog-producing pollutants became standard across the country. So, too, with carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas. California’s decision in 2002 to add greenhouse gases to the list of pollutants it wanted to control — a decision approved by the Obama administration seven years later — arguably accelerated the push for zero-emission and low-emission vehicles like plug-in hybrids. (Tailpipe emissions are now the nation’s single biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions.)
California doesn't get to dictate to the rest of the states when it comes to interstate commerce.
He told Nadler is getting hammered for subpoenaing Corey Lewandowski to testify to the judiciary committee while saying that he hasn't even thought about bringing in the IG to discuss his newly released report. What a clusterfark the house has become.
CS, ou are right. the Three Socialist Stooges of CHT don't understand.
"What a clusterfark the house has become."
It is under the leadership of the radical Squatters .
Yeah goat fucker...your house is totally fucked up....why don't you move out/???????BWAAAAAAAAA!!!!
aid...
California doesn't get to dictate to the rest of the states when it comes to interstate commerce.
You really are an idiot...They dictate there own air quality.....why do you have a problem with that?????? asshole.....
Seems to me that major automakers have more brains than either you or trump in keeping emissions down.....Cramps naturally thinks trump is the best solution while milage standards suffer that help everyone!!!!
Looking Forward from California’s Historic Agreement with ...
eelp.law.harvard.edu/2019/07/looking-forward-from-californias-historic...
On July 25, California announced that it had reached an agreement with four automakers, Ford, BMW, Volkswagen, and Honda, on compromise standards for fuel efficiency and GHG emissions for model years 2022-2026 of cars and light trucks.. This agreement is significant because four automakers have sided with California and voluntarily agreed to comply with more ambitious standards than those ...
And cramps again shows he hates humanity and the planets health for no good reason other than sucking on trumps dick....
So they get a car in Arizona that was dictated by bureaucrats in California?
No thanks.
a that was dictated by bureaucrats in California?
Yep.....ever hear of a California car????? And btw....why is trump questioning the Ca standards....when you figure that out, get back to me......
California car? Such a thing doesn't exist. Cars made to conform to California's draconian standards are sold in other states. It's not economically feasible to make a car just to be sold in California.
Because California's standards are ridiculous. This is not rocket science.
New Trump scandal via the liberal media - Trump carries cash in his pocket! Oh the horror. Nadler and Schiff better get on this.
this move by this President is a bonus to all UAW workers.
California car? Such a thing doesn't exist.
REALLY YOU DUMB FUCK????? You obviously have never been a motor head....a California car meets Ca clean air standards.....If you move to Ca and have a car, you must bring it up to Ca standards to register it ....IOW's a Ca car!!!! Sorry sport, but you saying something does not make it fact.....
Educating the Three Socialist Stooges of CHT everyday in every way.
Triggered Dennis, so the "car" doesn't exist in reality.
ok, Dennis put that in your "win" column.
@Rockprincess818
Air pollution: Smog, soot is worst in #California. California's reign as the U.S. state with the worst air pollution continues as Los Angeles is again the nation's smoggiest metro area. 7 out of the top 10 most polluted cities are in California.
Maybe all that California cap-n-trade revenue should be paid to neighboring states
"The likely reason for leaving electric cars out of the president’s recent speech is obvious: America is nowhere near reaching that 1 million EV goal. As the Detroit News noted earlier this week, “sales [of electric cars] have been far slower than expected — about 280,000, including 120,000 in 2014,” and that “even with dramatic increases it could take at least four more years to hit the mark.”
It wasn’t supposed to turn out this way. A 2011 Department of Energy report declared the 1 million EV goal “ambitious” and yet “achievable” by 2015"
Block Head Denny, are we there yet?
...a California car meets Ca clean air standards.....If you move to Ca and have a car, you must bring it up to Ca standards to register it ....IOW's a Ca car!!!! Sorry sport, but you saying something does not make it fact.....
Denny gets points for being both stupid and dishonest. What part did you not get?
California car? Such a thing doesn't exist. Cars made to conform to California's draconian standards are sold in other states. It's not economically feasible to make a car just to be sold in California.
I challenged you to find any car manufactured in the last 10 years that didn't meet California's standards and had to be modified when they were brought in state. The point of the argument was that California was imposing it's standards on the rest of the country.
I challenged you to find any car manufactured in the last 10 years that didn't meet California's standards
And I dare you to prove my vernacular incorrect you lying sack of shit.....!!!!! BTW.....my statement of Ca re registration is 10000% correct you bone head idiot...BWAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Denny, you brought the topic here.
you failed.
is that your positiion.
