Joe has another Hunter problem...

Guess who was leading the U.S. efforts to reduce "Romanian corruption"?
In the final year of the Obama administration, an American lawyer traveled to Romania to meet with a businessman accused of orchestrating a corrupt land deal. The businessman was Gabriel “Puiu” Popoviciu, a wealthy Romanian real estate tycoon. The lawyer brought in to advise him was Hunter Biden, the son of then-Vice President Joe Biden, according to two people familiar with the matter.
“We don’t know what [Hunter Biden] was paid or what he was paid for but it does raise questions of whether this Romanian individual facing criminal charges was actually paying for a connection to the American vice president,” said Kathleen Clark, a Washington University law professor who specializes in government ethics.
Romania was by then a familiar place to the Biden family. A close friend and former staffer of Joe Biden, Mark Gitenstein, held the position of U.S. ambassador to Romania from August 2009 to December 2012. In March 2012, Hunter’s brother, Beau, was asked to do the ribbon-cutting at the new U.S. embassy in Bucharest.

So once again, it would appear that Hunter Biden happened to find lucrative money making gigs in countries where his father (The Vice President) was an influential American figure.  Romania, Ukraine, China? Perhaps Hunter Biden is just the greatest combination of  energy guru, fundraiser, legal counsel in the history of the world. Jack of all trades, and apparently enough of a master in all to earn himself millions!

Funny how Democrats accuse the President and his family of breaking the emoluments clause because his family continues to run the same businesses that they had "before" Trump became President. Yet, these same people don't appear to have any interest that Biden's family seemed to find "new" international gigs conveniently in areas of the world where Joe was politically active.

They want the Trumps to give up businesses that they previously owned.
They have no issue with Bidens finding new business opportunities while dad was V.P.

Hypocrisy is the bedrock of liberalism...

What we are facing now is not partisan warfare, it’s not a mystery novel, it’s not politics-as-usual. We are facing an attempt to tear down the foundations of our republic by corrupt, unelected bureaucrats who have decided the will of voters is subordinate to their will to power. It represents a fatal threat to our system of government, and if this coup succeeds — whether through impeachment proceedings, or through an election that (if the last three years are any indication) the other side is clearly willing to steal by hook or by crook — the nation will cease to be a constitutional, democratic republic.

This isn’t about Trump, or Republicans, or conservatives. It is about Washington needing to learn that political differences have to be settled at the ballot box lest they instead be settled with an undermining of our constitutional norms and institutions.

a blast from the past that most eloquently and accurately describes my current attitude -

And this is where everything funnels down to the very nexus of my change in attitude from "Do unto others" to "I will do unto you what you do unto me."

It's two words: Memories Pizza.

It was that moment that everything changed for me--not only the harassment, fake Yelp reviews and the death threats that forced them to temporarily close up shop--oh, that was bad enough, but the most powerful man on Earth bullying a couple of small town pizza owners from Indiana simply for expressing an opinion on a hypothetical asked of them by a reporter with a malicious agenda? That was when I snapped.

Do you remember?

It's this that sent me to a place from which I'll never return. I literally don't care what Donald Trump does because nothing he can do is worse than what they've already done.

Donald Trump isn't the bully; he only insults and abuses people in power who have attacked him. They're the fucking bullies. The left, with their smears, their witch hunts, their slanders, their insults, their riots, their violence, and their weaponizing of the federal bureaucracy.

There aren't any rules anymore because the left only applies them one way. And in doing so, they've left what once was a civil compact between the two parties in smoldering ruins.

I have no personal investment in Donald Trump. He is a tool to punish the left and roll back their ill-gotten gains, no more and no less. If he succeeds even partially in those two things, then I'll consider his election a win.

Further, I no longer have any investment in any particular political values, save one: The rules created by the left will be applied to the left as equally and punitively as they have applied them to the right. And when they beg for mercy, I'll begin to reconsider. Or maybe not. Because fuck these people.

This new philosophy has freed me of more emotional angst that I can describe. Literally nothing the left says or does matters to me anymore. I don't care about their tantrums. I don't care about their accusations. I don't care if they say Trump is lying. I don't care if Trump is lying.

They created this Frankenstein. They own it. I am free of all obligation. I will never play defense again. I will attack, attack, attack, attack using their own tactics against them until they learn their lesson.

What I will not do is let them play my values against me ever again. I don't need to prove that I'm better than them. I already know it.

ASHLAND, Ky. — Brenda Deborde cried throughout her 16-hour shift at the steel plant here when she received official notice this August that her job was being cut.
Deborde had hoped President Trump’s tariffs could revive this once-mighty mill on a bank of the Ohio River, which for much of the 20th century formed the center of economic life in this part of Eastern Kentucky.
She and her husband, Matt, had traveled to welcome the president as he went to a rally in nearby Huntington, W.Va., waving their Trump flag and “Make America Great Again” hat to the motorcade from the side of the road.
“We really thought the tariffs were going to turn us around — that things would go back to being the way it was. We thought it could be a kind of saving grace,” said Deborde, 58.
It wasn’t. By the end of this year, she and Matt will lose their jobs at the plant after almost two decades. They aren’t sure what they will do next.
AD

Steel is surging under Trump. Will workers benefit?

Last year, Trump imposed tariffs on steel and aluminum imports to try to boost domestic production. It appeared to work, briefly, sending company stock prices higher and leading to more hiring and production.

1284
WASHINGTON — A federal judge handed a victory to House Democrats on Friday when she ruled that they were legally engaged in an impeachment inquiry, a decision that undercut President Trump’s arguments that the investigation is a sham.

The declaration came in a 75-page opinion by Chief Judge Beryl A. Howell of the Federal District Court in Washington. She ruled that the House Judiciary Committee was entitled to view secret grand jury evidence gathered by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III.

Typically, Congress has no right to view such evidence. But in 1974, the courts permitted lawmakers to see such materials as they weighed whether to impeach President Richard M. Nixon. The House is now immersed in the same process focused on Mr. Trump, Judge Howell ruled, and that easily outweighs any need to keep the information secret from lawmakers.

And in a rebuke to the Trump administration, she wrote that the White House strategy to stonewall the House had actually strengthened lawmakers’ case. She cited Mr. Trump’s vow to fight “all” congressional subpoenas and an extraordinary directive by his White House counsel, Pat A. Cipollone, that executive branch officials should not provide testimony or documents to impeachment investigators.

from the "trump is a virulent racist" files:

COLUMBIA, S.C. — President Donald Trump used a speech in Columbia to say that his policies are moving forward the issue of criminal justice reform for millions of Americans who are unfairly incarcerated.

The speech was the first event in a weekend-long program called the Second Step Presidential Forum, and even put together by the 20/20 Bipartisan Justice Center. The group is a nationwide coalition of Black Republicans, Democrats and Independents focused on criminal justice reform.

It was held on the campus of Benedict College, a historically black college at Columbia.

Before he began speaking, the President received the Bipartisan Justice Award for his work on the issue of criminal justice reform.

Revealed: Adam Schiff’s Suspected Whistleblower’s Boss, Charles Kupchan, Was “Special Assistant to President Obama”

Lying Adam Schiff may have himself in a real pickle. If his CIA ‘whistleblower’ was spying on President Trump on behalf of Schiff, then they both could be held accountable for conspiracy and treason under the Espionage Act.

Chanel Rion on OAN had an excellent piece on suspected CIA ‘whistleblower’ and leaker Eric Ciaramella and Shifty Schiff. Both could be guilty of ‘seditious conspiracy to overthrow a sitting President’, the penalty for which is not good

We also previously reported that there are many connections to the Deep State’s actions in the Ukraine and Obama during his tenure. The picture below shows numerous individuals connected to Obama and the Ukraine. Charles Kupchan is identified below (see more on him here) and he has been suspected of being connected to the whistleblower as well. He was reportedly Ciaramella’s boss for a time

Kupchan is personal friends with Hillary’s ‘fixer’ Sid (Vicious) Blumenthal, per Blumenthal’s own words in an email released by WikiLeaks –(continues and graphics)

The Mueller investigation represents the heart of the Resistance. As I say, it lives on in the current impeachment farce. Yesterday Judge Beryl Howell issued a 75-page memorandum opinion and order granting the application of the House Judiciary Committee — think Jerry Nadler — for access to the secret grand jury materials underlying the Mueller Report.

What’s it all about, Jerry? Mollie Hemingway provided a preview in the November 2018 Federalist column “Incoming Democrat Chairman: Dems Will Go ‘All-In’ On Russia, Impeach Kavanaugh For ‘Perjury.’”

Here is the electric cord linking the Mueller production to the impeachment farce: “The Special Counsel explained that bringing federal criminal charges against the President would ‘potentially preempt constitutional processes for addressing presidential misconduct’ [citation omitted]. With this statement, the Special Counsel signaled his view that Congress, as the federal branch of government tasked with presidential impeachment duty under the U.S. Constitution, was the appropriate body to resume where the Special Counsel left off.”

Thanks for clearing that up.

I learn from Judge Howell that the Speaker of the House has the power unilaterally to declare that the House is conducting an “impeachment inquiry.” I learn further that a potential impeachment trial in the Senate is a “judicial proceeding” even though it appears on its face to be a “congressional proceeding.” Judge Howell adds drily: “This purpose [i.e., a possible Senate impeachment trial] has only been confirmed by developments occurring since [the House Judiciary Committee] initially submitted its application.”

Again, thanks for clearing that up.

Well, the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure aren’t holy writ. Perhaps Judge Howell’s approach to their construction will pass muster with the appellate judges responsible for reviewing her handiwork. In the meantime, I have embedded Judge Howell’s memorandum opinion below for illustrative purposes.

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/10/resistance-at-all-costs-a-case-study.php

howell's an 0linsky appointee. therefore her familiarity with the rule of law is suspect. the potential for her ruling to be overturned by an appellate court is very real.

They should all go to jail for life!

On July 25, President Trump held a phone call in which he repeatedly leaned on Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden and Paul Manafort’s prosecutors. The episode is so blatantly inappropriate even Trump’s most fervent apologists are, with a few exceptions, having trouble defending it. What they are trying to do, instead, is define this phone call as the entire scandal. Trump emphasizes that he “didn’t specifically mention the explicit quid pro quo” of military aid in return for the investigation.

That is true, as far as it goes. The quid pro quo in the call, though perfectly apparent, is mostly implicit. But the real trick in Trump’s defense is framing the call as the entire scandal. The scandal is much more than that. The call is a snapshot, a moment in time in a months-long campaign that put American policy toward Ukraine at the disposal of Trump’s personal interests and reelection campaign.

Last spring, Rudy Giuliani was openly pressuring Kiev to investigate Joe Biden. Giuliani told the New York Times, “We’re meddling in an investigation … because that information will be very, very helpful to my client.” The key word there was “we’re.” The first-person singular indicated Giuliani was not carrying out this mission alone. A series of reports have revealed how many other government officials were involved in the scheme.

When Trump ordered military aid to Ukraine to be frozen, he went through his chief of staff and budget director Mick Mulvaney. Congress had passed the aid, and Ukraine was under military attack from Russia, a fact that made the halting of the assistance worrisome to numerous officials in two branches of government. As the Times reported, lawmakers and State Department staffers were asking why the money hadn’t gone through.

They were given cover stories: Lawmakers “were first told the assistance was being reviewed to determine whether it was in the best interest of foreign policy,” the Times reported this week. “Other administration officials said, without detail, there was a review on corruption in Ukraine, according to current and former officials. Then, as August drew to a close, other officials told lawmakers they were trying to gauge the effectiveness of the aid, a claim that struck congressional aides as odd.”

Lots of officials were involved in disseminating these cover stories to hide the fact that Trump held back the aid to leverage Ukraine to investigate Biden. One of them was Mike Pence, who told some confused officials that the aid was being held up “based on concerns from the White House about ‘issues of corruption.’” Pence knew perfectly well what this really meant — asked point blank if the aid was being held up over Ukraine’s failure to investigate Biden, he replied “as President Trump had me make clear, we have great concerns about issues of corruption.” In other words, yes, Ukraine needed to investigate Biden if it wanted the money.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Giuliani, though is the central figure. He has employed very little subterfuge. Giuliani told the Washington Post he kept Trump informed of his work in Ukraine for months, and declared, “My narrow interest is for the benefit of my client.” The apparent reason for his candor was to make it known to Ukraine that he was not a goofy cable-television blatherer but the president’s designated representative for Ukraine policy. If Ukraine wanted to get anything done, it had to work with Rudy.

Ukraine got the message. Its officials “expressed concern to U.S. senators that the aid had been held up as a penalty for resisting that pressure” to investigate Biden, reports the Wall Street Journal..

American foreign policy operates in regimented and bureaucratized ways. Turning over the machinery to the president’s personal attorney, who is not a foreign-policy expert or even a government employee, distorted the entire process, in ways that were noticeable throughout the government. The Washington Post has the most detailed account of the contortions. Giuliani circumvented unhelpful diplomats, even replacing one deemed troublesome. Several meetings on Ukraine policy at the White House leading up to the July 25 call “led some participants to fear that Trump and those close to him appeared prepared to use U.S. leverage with the new leader of Ukraine for Trump’s political gain.”

The White House–issued summary of Trump’s phone call with Zelensky shows the American president pressing his counterpart to undertake the twin investigations. After Trump asks Zelensky to investigate Biden, and Zelensky makes accommodating noises in response, Trump promises to have Giuliani and Attorney General William Barr call him. Barr also was involved in preventing Congress from seeing the whistle-blower complaint, and the call summary shows that he had a personal interest in doing so. Add Barr to the list of impeachment witnesses.

There may be many others. Last night on Fox News, Giuliani held up a phone he said included messages with official authorization for his activities. “You know who I did it at the request of? The State Department,” he said. The scheme to shake down Ukraine was a massive plot, spreading through the government and corrupting multiple officials. Trump had a lot of accomplices.

That is the toxic combination of views has the Attorney General of the United States running all over the world seeking evidence to back up a ridiculous conspiracy theory in which Ukraine, the "deep state," the Intelligence agencies of Italy, the U.K. and Australia, Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee all conspired to frame Russia and Donald Trump in the 2016 election. They call this an investigation into the "origins" of the Russia investigation, which is also being handled by the Department of Justice's inspector general and special counsel John Durham, appointed by Barr.

So far, Barr appears to be coming up goose eggs with the foreign intelligence services. The Wall Street Journal reported that he is "sparking discord in several foreign capitals, going outside usual channels to seek help from allies in reviewing the origins of a U.S. counterintelligence investigation begun during the 2016 presidential campaign."

John Kelly Warned Trump Would Be Impeached

October 26, 2019 at 1:35 pm EDT
John Kelly warned President Trump that hiring a “yes man” to succeed him as White House chief of staff would lead to impeachment and, in hindsight, regrets his decision to resign, the Washington Examiner reports.

Said Kelly:
“I said, whatever you do — and we were still in the process of trying to find someone to take my place — I said whatever you do, don’t hire a ‘yes man,’ someone who won’t tell you the truth — don’t do that. Because if you do, I believe you will be impeached.”

He added: “That was almost 11 months ago, and I have an awful lot of, to say the least, second thoughts about leaving. It pains me to see what’s going on because I believe if I was still there or someone like me was there, [Trump] would not be kind of, all over the place.”

“A company in which President Trump’s brother has a financial stake received a $33 million contract from the U.S. Marshals Service earlier this year, an award that has drawn protests from two other bidders, one of which has filed a complaint alleging possible favoritism in the bidding process,” the Washington Post reports.

Pompeo Blocked Support for Ousted Ambassador
October 26, 2019 at 1:38 pm EDT

“A senior State Department official was set to tell House impeachment investigators Saturday that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and other top officials stymied a show of solidarity for the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine after President Trump had her removed,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

“Philip Reeker, the acting assistant secretary of state in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, was also present for a White House interagency meeting during which a Department of Defense official raised concerns about a decision by the White House to hold military aid to Ukraine.”

Pretty sure impeachment will be strictly on the party line vote. So will the vote for conviction which means he'll retain office.

Because everybody is tired of the Democrat hoaxes and conspiracy theories.

Trump lamented the duration and cost of the investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election led by special counsel Robert Mueller, which he has repeatedly said found “no collusion, no obstruction.”

"Then, I have an Article II, where I have to the right to do whatever I want as president," he said. "But, I don't even talk about that."

Political pundits flooded social media with that clip, though most of the videos didn't include the Mueller-probe context.

Kelly Blasts Trump’s CATASTROPHICALLY BAD Decision on Syria

FORMER White House Chief of Staff John Kelly called President Trump’s decision to remove American troops from northern Syria a “catastrophically bad idea” that is harming U.S. national security and BOOSTING RUSSIA'S INFLUENCE in the Middle East, the Washington Examiner reports.

Said Kelly:
“What was working in Syria was that FOR VERY LITTLE INVESTMENT, the Kurds were doing all the fighting, the vast majority of the dying, and we were providing intelligence and fire support assistance. AND WE WERE WINNING.”

The idea that the DOJ’s FISA warrants will prove a conspiracy against Trump fails to meet the laugh test. Barr has access to all of this information, and if any of it would clear Trump’s name or damage his targets, Barr would have leaked it or launched the DOJ’s resources on something other than a long-range, multi-year Durham investigatory slog.

They want charges of treason. They want Comey, Strozk, Page, Brennan, Clapper, and others arrested. They want a criminal probe of the Mueller effort, despite their contradictory assertion that the Mueller Report exonerated him.

Reeker, the diplomat in charge of U.S. policy for Europe, told House impeachment investigators Saturday that he appealed to top State Department leaders to publicly support the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, who was the target of a conspiracy¬fueled smear campaign, a person familiar with his testimony said.

Reeker expressed his concerns over the falsehoods about Marie Yovanovitch to David Hale, the third-highest-ranking official in the State Department, and T. Ulrich Brechbuhl, the closest adviser to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, whose friendship began when they attended the U.S. Military Academy together the person said. He never discussed Yovanovitch with Pompeo, and eventually heard from staffers for Hale that there would be no public statement in her defense, the person said.

It remains unclear how much information they conveyed to Pompeo and what role Pompeo played in recalling Yovanovitch shortly after she was told she was doing such a good job that her posting was being extended.

Reeker “was trying to get the State Department to issue a strong statement in support of Ambassador Yovanovitch,” the person said. “Ultimately it did not get released. His understanding is [that decision] came from on top.”

Romney was praised by Democrats for showing spine, and, on cue, he was attacked by Trump on Twitter for being a “pompous ass.”

Now, the relationship could be nearing its climactic scene. If the House votes to impeach Trump, as is expected, Romney could soon take on a defining role in his career: a juror in the Senate trial of Trump. The potential that he could take a leadership role in a Senate trial has made him a central target of Trump’s ire, prompting the president to say that the senator from Utah is the only leading member of the party who has failed to fall in line to support him.

“I think [Democrats are] lousy politicians,” Trump said during a Cabinet meeting on Monday. “But two things they have: They’re vicious and they stick together. They don’t have Mitt Romney in their midst. They don’t have people like that. They stick together.”

Romney, in an interview with The Washington Post, insisted he had not made up his mind about whether to vote for conviction, but neither has he followed other Republicans in criticizing the efforts by Democrats to impeach the president.

“I am going to wait to see if impeachment articles come,” Romney said. “If they do come, I will review all the facts as they are presented at that point and make a decision which I believe is right.”

Sondland Testified Trump DID Demand Quid Pro Quo

October 26, 2019 at 8:47 pm EDT
Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, told House committees last week that efforts by President Trump and his allies to press Kyiv to open investigations in exchange for a White House meeting with Ukraine’s president amounted to a quid pro quo, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Trump has denied that his decision to hold up aid was related to his push for investigations, repeatedly declaring there was “no quid pro quo.”

Asked by a lawmaker whether that arrangement was a quid pro quo, Sondland cautioned that he wasn’t a lawyer but said he believed the answer was yes.

U.S. Marshals Service granted a $33 million dollar contract to a firm tied to Robert Trump, President Donald Trump’s younger brother.

The contract, first reported by the Washington Post on Saturday, was awarded to a digital security company named CertiPath in June to upgrade the U.S. Marshals Service’s security systems for courtrooms, judge’s chambers, and other “physical access control systems.”

Robert Trump is stakeholder in SHiRT LLC, an investment partnership that has partially owned Certipath since 2013.

Jeff Nigriny, the president of CertiPath, downplayed Trump’s ties to his company in a statement to the Post, describing him as an “exclusively a passive investor.”

“Certipath has never used the Trump name in any way, and to do so would be completely inconsistent with our business practices and ethics,” Negriny said.

U.S. Marshals Service spokesperson Drew Wade told the Post that the agency was not aware of any financial ties between the Trump family and Certipath.

Certipath has not yet received its $33 million check yet due to a rival company and bidder’s complaint to the Government Accountability Office.

The United States military has conducted a special operations raid targeting one of its most high-value targets, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State militant group (ISIS), Newsweek has learned. President Donald Trump approved the mission nearly a week before it took place.

Amid reports Saturday of U.S. military helicopters over Syria's northwestern Idlib province, a senior Pentagon official familiar with the operation and Army official briefed on the matter told Newsweek that Baghdadi was the target of the top-secret operation in the last bastion of the country's Islamist-dominated opposition, a faction that has clashed with ISIS in recent years. A U.S. Army official briefed on the results of the operation told Newsweek that Baghdadi was killed in the raid. And the Defense Department told the White House they have "high confidence" that the high-value target killed was Baghdadi, but further verification is pending.

He was the head of ISIS and now he's dead.

This is how the goat fucker pretends that he has christian values......LOLOLOLOL

istians and Christianity are mocked, belittled, smeared and attacked,” declared an essay on Fox News’s website, plaintively titled, “How Long Will I Be Allowed to Remain a Christian?”

This mockery of Christians is, as I’ve written many times, both real and wrong. But a far bigger threat to the “brand” of Christianity comes, I think, from religious blowhards who have entangled faith with bigotry, sexism, homophobia and xenophobia. For some young people, Christianity is associated less with love than with hate.

“Pompous right-wing political chest-thumping, and an unwillingness to listen on matters like climate change or racism, has contributed to a perception by millions that Christianity is irrelevant, or worse yet, a threat to progress,” the Rev. Richard Cizik, the leader of a group of self-described “new evangelicals” with moderate views, told me. “That’s a real burden to carry going into the 21st century.”

Cizik, who was fired from the National Association of Evangelicals in 2008 after he expressed support for civil unions for gay people, added that Christianity’s reputation suffers from backward views on women’s issues and from the unwavering support among evangelical hard-liners for President Trump.

“Trump has played them like a fiddle,” he said.

It would be difficult to imagine a president more at odds with Jesus’ message than Trump, a serial philanderer and liar who has persecuted refugees, divided families, exploited the poor and allegedly committed sexual assaults. When Trump in 2016 was asked to name a favorite part of the Bible, he muttered “an eye for an eye” — a reference to an Old Testament passage that Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount, specifically renounced.
