But, but, but...

Democrats demand that this was a legitimate process!

Difficult to argue anymore that this isn't a "coup" when people close to the "whistleblower" were talking about a planned "coup" since the day Trump was sworn in. Depending on what else we find out about the "whistleblower" and certainly whether or not he will be forced to testify in the Senate trial, this thing could "really, really" backfire on Democrats!

I thought you understood that you are repeating the same conspiracy bullshit happened before now. But you don't understand how crazy you are now.

Dor decades the American far right has depended on conspiracy theories to explain why the nation keeps adopting progressive policies of which they disapprove.

Sen. Joseph McCarthy famously argued in 1951 that the World War II hero Gen. George C. Marshall, who had been both Harry Truman’s secretary of state and then secretary of defense, had made decisions that helped the Soviet Communists in their drive to dominate the world. McCarthy did not go as far as branding Marshall a traitor, but he did charge that Marshall—a great war hero who helped lead the planning of D-Day and had been Time Magazine’s Man of the Year in 1943—led “a conspiracy so immense and an infamy so black as to dwarf any previous venture in the history of man.”

Were old Joe McCarthy still with us he would be in awe of the lengths to which Donald Trump and his GOP and “conservative” lackeys have gone to discredit their perceived Democratic enemies. Each day Trump ups the ante by openly seeking the help of foreign governments (Russia, Ukraine and now China) to take action to destroy his main political rival in 2020, former Vice-President Joe Biden.

He has also made it clear what he thinks of those Democrats, especially Rep. Adam Schiff, chair of the House Intelligence Committee, who are daring to begin an impeachment inquiry and to ask all the right questions. The latest nonsense the president has come up with is to argue that it was Ukraine, not Putin’s Russia, that hacked the DNC in 2016—all without any evidence whatsoever indicating that might have happened.

You believe that there was a planned "coup" since the day Trump was sworn in. Your own words.

Trump is now reactivating and trafficking a theory that started after his election, but that was left to fringe elements on the right and largely ignored. This is the belief that Trump’s opponents, most coming from the camp of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama supporters, and their holdovers still sitting in major government positions in various agencies, are using their positions to slowly undertake a coup d’état, meant to remove from power the legally elected president and destroy his administration.

The entire nation Security system is part of a coup to overturn the last election.

You have lost your mind Scott. Seriously, you need help.

Mr. Trump, whose own tweets have warned of deep-state plots against him, accused the House speaker of treason and labeled Republican critics “human scum,” has helped spread a culture of suspicion and distrust of facts into the political mainstream.

The president is also awash in an often toxic torrent that sluices into his Twitter account — roughly 1,000 tweets per minute, many intended for his eyes. Tweets that tag his handle, @realDonaldTrump, can be found with hashtags like #HitlerDidNothingWrong, #IslamIsSatanism and #WhiteGenocide. While filters can block offensive material, the president clearly sees some of it, because he dips into the frothing currents and serves up noxious bits to the rest of the world.

By retweeting suspect accounts, seemingly without regard for their identity or motives, he has lent credibility to white nationalists, anti-Muslim bigots and obscure QAnon adherents like VB Nationalist, an anonymous account that has promoted a hoax about top Democrats worshiping the Devil and engaging in child sex trafficking.

“I’ve been retweeted by the President of the United States, President Trump!” replied VB Nationalist, who gained thousands of followers after the high-level boost and took it as a sign of encouragement, adding, “Tell me again, how he doesn’t care about us.”

I thought you understood that you are repeating the same conspiracy bullshit happened before now.

It was the whistleblower lawyer's own tweet.

So yes, there are legitimate questions on whether he engaged in a conspiracy to engineer a coup by impeachment.

For sure it doesn't help the Democrat's case before the American public.

Mark Zaid, one of the attorneys representing the intelligence community whistleblower at the center of the Democrats' ongoing impeachment inquiry, tweeted conspicuously in January 2017 that a "coup has started" and that "impeachment will follow ultimately."

Then, in July 2017, Zaid remarked, "I predict @CNN will play a key role in @realDonaldTrump not finishing out his full term as president." Also that month, Zaid tweeted, "We will get rid of him, and this country is strong enough to survive even him and his supporters."

Amid a slew of impeachment-related posts, Zaid assured his Twitter followers that "as one falls, two more will take their place," apparently referring to Trump administration employees who defy the White House. Zaid promised that the "coup" would occur in "many steps."

The tweets, which came shortly after President Trump fired then-acting Attorney General Sally Yates for failing to defend federal laws in court, are likely to fuel Republican concerns that the anonymous whistleblower's complaint is tainted with partisanship. Trump's call with Ukraine's leader, which is the subject of the complaint, occurred in July 2019.

“The whistleblower’s lawyer gave away the game," the Trump campaign's communications director, Tim Murtaugh, told Fox News. "It was always the Democrats’ plan to stage a coup and impeach President Trump and all they ever needed was the right scheme. They whiffed on Mueller so now they’ve settled on the perfectly fine Ukraine phone call. This proves this was orchestrated from the beginning.”

Added House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy: "We should take [Zaid] at his word that this is a coordinated, premeditated plot to overturn the election."

The latest

1. Public hearings in Congress will begin next Wednesday in the impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said Wednesday.

The first open hearing, to be held Nov. 13, is slated to feature testimony from career diplomat William Taylor and State Department official George Kent. The second hearing, scheduled for Nov. 15, is expected to include testimony from former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovit.

Schiff said that there would be additional announcements of witnesses expected to testify publicly.

2. Taylor told House impeachment investigators last month that President Trump directed officials to tie military aid to Ukraine to demands that the country open political advantageous probes, according to a transcript of his testimony made public Wednesday.

The transcript also contains new details about the language he used in describing the White House's attempted quid pro quo with Ukraine that shed light on his level of concern about the matter.

For example, Taylor said he and others "sat in astonishment" as a White House Office of Management and Budget official said during a July 18 inter-agency call that Trump had ordered a hold on military assistance to Ukraine.

The personal attacks are part of the conspiracy theories I posted earlier will commence here soon.

Fox News

Trump should have known that the act of soliciting assistance for his campaign from a foreign government, whether directly by him or indirectly by Giuliani, is defined as criminal under federal law – a high crime, as the Constitution puts it.

He also should have known that refusing to perform a lawful duty, releasing the $391 million Congress had authorized until a personal favor comes his way, is also defined in federal law as criminal – bribery, as the Constitution puts it.

All of this has been laid out in the transcripts of witness interviews that will soon become public testimony. All of this has given the president's congressional supporters heartburn. They have seen the transcripts and have dropped their "no quid pro quo" argument, and now make the legally absurd contention that all evidence derived from witness interviews conducted in secret – with Republican House members present and participating – is somehow tainted and should be thrown out. Even Nixon and Clinton made no such arguments.

Then, in another pivot, congressional Republicans have argued that witnesses against Trump are secret or overt Democrats and cannot be trusted. Oy, that's why we have cross-examination. Some congressional Republicans have even threatened to out two federal employees among the witnesses whose identities are protected under the federal whistleblower statutes -- statutes that these members of Congress have sworn to uphold.

another lie of omission by the alky -

The University of Alabama's student government is reportedly warning that students could lose their reserved football seating for the rest of the year if they protest President Trump's appearance during Saturday's game against LSU.

“Additional security will … be in the student section during the game. Any organizations that engage in disruptive behavior during the game will be removed from block seating instantly from the remainder of the season,” Vice President of Student Affairs Jason Rothfarb wrote in a letter to students, AL.com reported on Wednesday.

In a statement Wednesday afternoon, however, the university's Student Government Association appeared to walk back the earlier threat, saying it had meant to warn only about inappropriate behavior.

“The SGA strongly affirms its belief in free speech and the rights of all students to express their opinions,” the statement posted on Facebook read. “Today’s report erroneously assigned a political context to a message meant only to remind students about heightened security and the consequences of altercations or other behaviors unbecoming of a University of Alabama student, as defined in the Capstone Creed.”

Trump should have known that the act of soliciting assistance for his campaign from a foreign government, whether directly by him or indirectly by Giuliani, is defined as criminal under federal law – a high crime, as the Constitution puts it.

Several problems with that theory;

1. Trump did actually solicit anything of value for his campaign from the Ukraine or any other country.

2. The Bidens may actually be guilty of corruption and abuse of power. Being a potential opponent of president Trump does not immunized them from president Trump's duty to see that the "laws are faithfully executed".

3. They have yet to make the case for any crime much less a high crime (Judge Napolitano never actually never got around to citing a statue Trump violated.)

I know the theory that the offense doesn't have to be a crime but in the public's mind not only does it have to be a crime but it has to be a serious crime. Clinton was acquitted even though he committed perjury because the public determine it didn't rise to an impeachable crime.

Right now the Democrats are impeaching Trump on little more than the fact they don't like how he exercises his legitimate power to conduct foreign policy.

Democrats More Motivated to Vote In Key States
November 7, 2019 at 8:21 am EST

A new Kaiser Family Foundation/Cook Political Report poll finds Democrats have a slight edge in enthusiasm in three key battleground states.

Over six in ten Democratic voters in Pennsylvania (66%), Michigan (65%), and Wisconsin (62%) say they are more motivated to vote in next year’s 2020 presidential election than they were in 2016. This is at least 10 percentage points higher than the share of Republican voters in each state saying the same (54% in Pennsylvania, 53% in Michigan, and 46% in Wisconsin).

In Minnesota, Republican voters are just as motivated as their Democratic counterparts.

A new Kaiser Family Foundation/Cook Political Report poll finds nearly three times as many voters offer responses related to defeating President Trump (21%) as offer responses related to re-electing him or not wanting a Democrat to be elected (8%).

Defeating President Trump was offered as the top motivation to vote in 2020 by 39% of Democratic voters while responses related to re-electing President Trump/not wanting a Democrat were offered by 21% of Republican voters. Twenty percent of independent voters offered responses related to defeating President Trump while 7% of independent voters offered responses related to re-electing President Trump.

Overall, 23% of voters offer issues such as health care, the economy, and immigration, as their motivation for voting in the 2020 presidential election.

The Justice Department has taken the position that it cannot prosecute a sitting president, and impeachment does not require provable statutory violations. "High crimes and misdemeanors" include violations of the public trust that do not necessarily involve breaking the law. In this case, if the allegations against Trump are true, he has abused his power for personal gain and violated the separation of powers by impeding the distribution of congressionally approved military aid. Members of Congress might reasonably conclude that's enough to justify impeachment, whether or not Trump committed a prosecutable crime.

Another reason the R party is nothing but a bunch of goat fucking ideologues fearing their jobs.....scum of the earth!!!!

The lead impeachment inquiry lawyer for House Republicans named the alleged Trump-Ukraine whistleblower during a deposition with a key State Department witness.

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor told the lawyer that he did not know the person and had not had conversations with him. But the fact that he was asked at all underscores what appears to be a longstanding strategy by committee Republicans to insert his name into the public record. The name of the individual ultimately was included in the transcript of Taylor’s deposition.

In subsequent depositions, Democrats have accused Republicans of trying to use the witness interviews as back-door channels for outing the whistleblower. Their fears have grown even more pronounced in recent days as several lawmakers—most notably Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)—have threatened to subpoena and reveal the identity of the whistleblower. The president’s son, Don Jr., appeared to take things even farther, tweeting out an article from Breitbart on Wednesday morning naming the alleged whistleblower.

Thanks to Rand Paul, Russian Media Are Naming the Alleged Whistleblower

The Daily Beast has previously reported that an aide to Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), Derek Harvey, has provided conservative politicians with notes on the alleged whistleblower, including some misinformation along with the individual’s name.

The name of the alleged whistleblower, which The Daily Beast has not independently confirmed and will not publish here, has been circulated widely by right-wing media; much to the chagrin of his lawyers who have warned that their client’s safety is being deliberately threatened as part of a witness intimidation scheme by the president’s allies.
