It's LSU and Clemson

LSU Rolls over Oklahoma, while Ohio State chokes the big lead

This was little drama in the first game. It became fairly clear fairly early that Oklahoma was not going to pose any sort of real threat to LSU. It really came down to Quarterback play, where the Heismann winner Joe Burrow so totally outplayed the runner up Jalen Hurts, that it almost makes you wonder how Hurts ended up in the top four. Is LSU that good or was Oklahoma that bad.? Clearly if feels like there was only really three playoff quality teams available, and Oklahoma was  the sacrifice to whomever got the first seed.

The best two QB in college football?

In the second game, Ohio State appeared stronger on both lines and early on it looked like another mismatch early on. Justin Fields threw for 320 yards and J.K. Dobbins had over 170 yards rushing. The Buckeyes had more first downs, more passing yards, more running yards, more time of possession, but also had more turnovers. The inability to score touchdowns in the red zone and some mistakes allowed Clemson to hang around, and when you allow a team like Clemson with a QB like Trevor Lawrence to hang around, you are flirting with disaster. Not sure that the better team won, but there is no question that Clemson (with a long winning streak) deserves to be in the Championship game.

I’m curious if the selection committee will treat the Big 12 and OU, the same way the Big 10 and OSU were treated after the buckeyes were smashed 3 years ago, by Clemson.

And Burrow has thrown more touchdowns in 2 weeks in the Benz than Matt Ryan has all year at home

There's something to be said for inertia. And the Big 10 has plenty of inertia on it's side.

Ohio State was the Big 10's first loss in the bowl season... and wasn't exactly an embarrassing loss. They likely beat Clemson 7 out of 10 times they play. Lawrence just made big play after big play last night and Fields and his receiver made the final mistake.

There really are not many Big 10/SEC bowl games as in past years. The only one that is at all important is Auburn vs Minnesota.

Ohio State deserved to be there and played a fabulous game, I wouldn’t say they’d beat Clemson 7 of 10.

What I was referring to is the last time they were in the the CFP and were destroyed, the selectors overlooked the Big 10 for the next 2 years. I am wondering if that might not be the Big 12 and Oklahoma’s fate for the near future. They’ve had their shots and haven’t advanced to the big game

Cali - they were clearly the better, more talented team.

Without the horrendous "booth overturn" of the returned fumble (who everyone including the NFL officials stated was a horrible overturn) - Ohio State wins.

Given two calls in a row on Ohio State gave Clemson their third TD (again one determined on a booth review)...

I think it's fair to say that Ohio State should have won yesterday and would was just physically better than Clemson.

Given two calls in a row on Ohio State gave Clemson their third TD (again one determined on a booth review)... it seemed like Clemson needed help from the SEC officiating crew to prevail.

I think it's fair to say that Ohio State should have won yesterday and was just unquestionably physically better than Clemson.

OSU dominated the lines of scrimmage for the the first 25 minutes and then it was anyone’s. Venables made great adjustments on defense for Clemson

Both are clearly the cream of their conferences and the ACC is horrendous

I can’t help I like Dabo and that’s hard for a DAWG to say
