Anti-Semitic attacks continue to shake our city and state. Last week, eight attacks — including four in just in 48 hours — sent a familiar shockwave rippling through the Jewish community. Then Saturday came the horrific stabbing in Monsey, New York. The poison of Jew-hatred is spreading.
I first wrote about the uptick in May. The reason the city’s liberal political class was ignoring it, I argued, is that the criminals don’t fit their picture of Evil Bigots. They aren’t, for the most part, MAGA-hat wearing white guys with tiki torches. In fact, many of the attackers are people of color, as investigative reporting by Tablet’s Armin Rosen and others has shown. Imagine if they were white nationalists. How much faster would the mayor and other city leaders have taken action?
De Blasio tweeted after this latest round of violence against Jews in the city. He has to stop beating around the bush. These attacks aren’t an attack on “our values.” They’re attacks on visibly Jewish people. Even Sunday, after the Monsey stabbings, he blamed Trump and “Washington” for creating “an atmosphere of hate.” De Blasio needs to stop trying to find a “them” to be the opposite of his “us.” His juvenile obsession with having the right adversaries allows anti-Semitism to flourish.
And it isn’t just his ideological blinders. The mayor has also helped create an anti-police atmosphere, in which the vigilant presence of officers is considered a bad thing. At an anti-police rally last month, there were signs calling for violence against the NYPD. De Blasio’s response? He insinuated that the idea that there’s anti-police sentiment in our city is, yes, another right-wing plot.
Look folks, antisemitism is not a right wing ideology. It's quite literally pushed every day by prominent people who masquerade as being pro-Palestinian. The fact of the matter is that those who are being investigated for hate crimes against Jews ARE people of color and many of them are Muslim. There simply isn't any actual tangible evidence that there are a bunch of pro-Trump white bigots who are going around killing Jewish people. Up until Obama worked hard to change things, Israel and the Jewish international community was one of our biggest allies.

But the knee-jerk reaction from the left is to automatically assume that any act of hate must come from a Trump supporter (begging the question: are liberals stupid, biased, or gullible) . Even when a person declares himself to be an anti-Trumper who is looking for a socialist revolution, the left will still demand that the person is a white-nationalist driven by Trump. In fact, for a period of time, one of the mass shooters labeled a white-nationalist turned out after the dust settled to not even be white. Of course, some still maintained that he was still a white-nationalist because of a passage that they attributed to an author that some maintained to be a white-nationalist.
The bottom line is that you cannot fix partisanship any more than you can fix stupid. But we are at the point where if someone doesn't try to fix this, antisemitism will continue to grow and flourish because we refuse to address (or even acknowledge) the root cause.

Mayor Bill de Blasio’s latest soft-on-crime initiative has workers stationed on Rikers Island presenting newly released jailbirds with free transit passes and two $25 debit cards each, The Post has learned.
Plans even call for the addition of prepaid, “burner”-style cellphones and drawstring bags for the ex-inmates to carry their swag, a source familiar with the program said.
The “crime pays” giveaways build on another de Blasio policy — revealed by The Post last month — that showers freebies including Mets tickets on prisoners being released under the state’s new bail-reform law.
Those goodies are intended to serve as incentives so the defendants return to court as ordered, but the new program covers everyone who’s released from Department of Correction custody, the source said.
That includes cons who have finished their jail terms or been sentenced to time served.

Hikind not only criticized the mayor and governor's looking to Washington for the recent rise in antisemitism, but also claimed that the two are not doing their jobs in New York. "No one out there in the City of New York thinks de Blasio is really doing a good job dealing with antisemitism," Hikind told Fox and Friends.
The former assemblyman and founder of Americans Against Antisemitism also appeared on Fox's America's News HQ where he also pointed at the Left as a source of antisemitism, claiming that Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders and Linda Sarsour contributed to antisemitism and the legitimization of "hating the one place where the Jewish people have a place, the State of Israel." Hikind said the problem emanates from those unwilling to "face realities" that he describes as dynamics in which Jews are targets. When asked if there should be a terrorism hate crime statute for acts of antisemitism, he agreed.
"What we see now is systematic, day in, day out, horrible things happening." Hikind added that in the US, "antisemitism is out of control."
Cuomo deemed the stabbing attack in Monsey as an "act of domestic terrorism," and that those carrying out the acts were trying to "inflict fear." The governor also told reporters at the scene of the attack that laws would be enforced to "make sure this does not happen." De Blasio also condemned the attack, having announced before the stabbing that police presence would be increased in areas of Brooklyn following antisemitic attacks.

The resulting narrative shows that Trump’s efforts to game the system for his benefit didn’t just upset the incoming government in Ukraine; it sent spasms through the government in Washington.
Trump’s order to delay the military assistance and his efforts to extract statements from the Ukrainian leadership didn’t just cause concern inside the Office of Management and Budget and at the top levels of the State Department—they caused chaos. White House officials found themselves facing an illegal order, and they clearly knew it was an illegal order. It’s just that most of those who faced it didn’t come forward to Congress or the public. Instead, they joined in the efforts to hide what Trump had done.
Then they went further. Faced with the knowledge that the law did not allow Trump to delay the assistance once the Department of Defense had completed its review of it—which had happened months before Trump ordered the halt—White House lawyers did something genuinely extraordinary. And genuinely frightening.
Lawyers at the OMB, the Department of Justice, and the White House communicated and coordinated around a new theory, one that said Trump was right when he claimed, “I have an Article 2 where I have the right to do whatever I want as president.” The coordinated legal staffs genuinely developed an argument that, even though there was clear law on the matter, Trump’s “role as commander in chief would simply allow him to override Congress on the issue.”
The audacity and disruption encapsulated here are hard to overstate. The only way that the legal staff at the White House could find to defend Trump’s actions was to generate an argument that he was genuinely above the law.
Laying all the documents end to end doesn’t just generate this “legal” defense of Dictator Donald; It also shows the mad scramble that was underway by White House officials to create excuses and defenses for their own personal actions—even when multiple people around them knew they were lying. For example, acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney claimed to have stepped from the room every time Rudy Giuliani spoke with Trump, and declared that he hadn’t known the contents of Trump’s July 25 call. Not only was this not true, but others knew it wasn’t true. Mulvaney is just one example of a White House where staffers were engaged in crafting a narrative to excuse Trump’s actions as they also worked to protect themselves from what many saw as inevitable fallout.
In his attempt to turn foreign policy into an arm of his campaign, Donald Trump disrupted the situation in Ukraine; he also threw the White House into an all-for-Trump and every-man-for-himself anarchy. What’s amazing is that it took a whistleblower to sound the alarm, when dozens if not hundreds were aware that the White House was engaged in deliberately illegal activity and a widespread cover-up.
