Said Smith: “I misspoke this morning, I do believe we should do everything we can to force the Senate to have a fair trial. If the Speaker believes that holding on to the articles for a longer time will help force a fair trial in the Senate, then I wholeheartedly support that decision.”

In addition, 65% think the actions make America “less safe.”

Speaker Nancy Pelosi told the Associated Press that she knows “exactly when” to transmit the articles of impeachment to the U.S. Senate.
But she added: “I won’t be telling you right now.″

Americans were divided on the wisdom of the drone strike at the Baghdad airport last week that killed Soleimani and others: 42% supported it, 33% opposed it; 25% said they didn't know what to think. Republicans were much more supportive than Democrats; independents were almost evenly split.
Much of it is a push poll, with questions about motivation, bringing up impeachment, and suggesting/implying that Presidents cannot take military action without Congressional approval... all before asking if they thought the action was "reckless".
Also, to be clear... I supported the action in spite of the fact that it makes things more dangerous short term (but in retrospect - the Iranian response was lame). Long term, it's much more dangerous to allow Iran to just get away with attacking and killing Americans.
Btw, any law passed by Congress that limited a President's ability to take short term military action would be overturned by the Courts as completely unconstitutional.
