This is nothing more than the Kavanaugh hearings all over again. At best you have one person claiming something that nobody else will corroborate, and that he will have zero proof of. His word... against everyone else's (President of US, President of Ukraine, Attorney General, Chief of Staff, to name a few).
And that's if you are lucky!
Given the track record of the NYT and Haberman (and the fact that Haberman is already walking some of this back)... there is a good chance that there is less steak than sizzle here, and at the end of the day John Bolton will be a shadow of the witness that some believed he would be (when this story broke last night).

Again... at best it prolongs the trial for a few days (just like it did in the Kavanaugh hearings). But if it opens up the trial to include witnesses that the President wants to call for his defense... then I still believe (and I have said all along) that is a trade I would gladly make!
It's not going to be a trade. If you open floodgates the Democrats will get Bolton whileTrump gets Hunter and Joe Biden, the whistleblower, Adam Schiff, his staff, and anybody else Trumps wants.

Expect Trump's team to completely obliterate any fragments of Schiff's case today and pose questions to be answered. The fastest and most relevant is why Schiff is hiding the testimony of the IC IG who testified about non-secret matters in a secure location. Rumor has it that it went really bad for Schiff but that is not a valid reason to withhold it.
I imagine they can and will list a series of questions for the Senate to consider. And ask given the FACTS why this even got this far.
The NYT "bombshell" exploded too soon in an obviously coordinated media attack that has no natural legs. Perhaps making the manuscript available to Senators and releasing the Atkinson testimony would be a fair compromise to have this farce end in a timely and fair conclusion for the president and nation.
