My prediction is that the Golden Gophers will have twice as many plays, twice the time of possession, twice the yardage and be leading Auburn at halftime.
We'll see how the second half goes... but Minnesota looks dominant right now.

1st downs 23-13 Rushing yards 215-56 Passing yards 279-176 Total yards 494-232 TOP 37.39 - 22.20
The only thing that kept this game close was some extremely poor officiating that went against the Gophers several times. Cheap PI call led to a TD, phantom holding call brought back a 40 yard play, and two poor spots on consecutive plays had the Gophers turn the ball over on downs by about a half inch.
Didn't Auburn beat Alabama?
They say Auburn is expected to challenge for the SEC title next year.
But the Gophers lose only three seniors on offense (two of them running backs)... which should provide them with an absolute lights out offense next year.
and they will lose some key players on Defense. What will All American Antoine Winfield Jr do will be a big part of how good the gopher defense could be next year. He's just a sophomore but eligible non-the-less for the draft. If he stays that would be a huge boost.
New York Times: “For a second day, demonstrators swarmed outside the United States Embassy in Iraq on Wednesday and troops fired tear gas in an attempt to disperse them, but after a few hours the militia leaders who had organized the demonstration called on the crowd to leave.
“Unlike on Tuesday, protesters did not get inside the compound. By midafternoon all but about 200 had dispersed, taking their tent poles with them.” ____________

Giuliani Would Like to Testify and Do Even More at Trump's Impeachment Trial
Daily Beast, January 1, 2020: “Rudy Giuliani is prepared to do more than just testify at President Trump’s upcoming impeachment trial. The former New York City mayor made clear in comments to reporters on Tuesday night that he’s ready to pull out all the stops to defend his client—and that apparently includes giving ‘lectures’ and doing ‘demonstrations.’ Asked if he would testify at the trial, Giuliani appeared unable to settle on a single, coherent answer.”
Said Giuliani: “I would testify, I would, um, do demonstrations. I’d give lectures, I’d give summations. Or, I’d do what I do best, I’d try the case. I’d love to try the case. Well I don’t know if anybody would have the courage to give me the case, but, uh, if you give me the case, I will prosecute it as a racketeering case, which I kind of invented anyway.”
PLEASE let him testify, Mr. President. And you be sure to testify too! You know no one can do it as well as you, so DO it! DO it! You should absolutely INSIST on it!"
Wisconsin dominated that Rose Bowl (other than continuously giving the ball away). Again, not sure why, but it certainly felt like the Refs had it out for Big 10 teams this year. Two strange holding calls on big runs (flags thrown late) that negated a couple of Wisconsin scoring chances...
and they can defend the offensive pass interference call all they want, but you will not see that call "EVER" in a situation like that when the defense initiated the contact more than five yards down the field. If anything it was defensive holding (not offensive pass interference). B.S. call and ultimately it might have cost the Badgers.
And what was with that third down goal line spot. The guy fell clearly to like the 6 inch line and the refs moved it back over a yard to make it fourth down.
Not much into "conspiracies"... but there were a lot of controversial calls in these bowl games and pretty much all of them went against Big 10 teams.
At the end of the Minnesota game, the referees "literally" tried to add more time to the game. After a first down (which only temporarily stops the clock) the play clock was down to 4 seconds and the game clock still hadn't started back up again (sitting at like 1:57).
Fleck was literally screaming and hollering trying to get someone's attention. They eventually put 25 seconds back on the play clock and move the game clock back to 2:04 and then started both clocks at the same time. But generally they have 40 seconds and the game clock stars as soon as the chains move (which is generally like 10 seconds)... so they still gained time.
Not that it mattered because Minnesota got another first down, but it could have forced the gophers to run a fourth down play and still have time left. Maybe after the Ohio State fiasco I was a bit sensitive. But the spotting in both the Minnesota and Wisconsin game was obviously poor, and it never seemed to benefit the Gophers or the Badgers.
The general election will see the highest voter turnout — in excess of 60 percent — since the last time we had such a bitterly divided nation, in 1968. Trump will lose massively in the popular vote and narrowly in the Electoral College behind Biden and Buttigieg.
Trump will make history by being impeached and reelected 11 months later. His newly built strength with blacks and hispanics will be the difference. They like having jobs, wage growth and wealth creation.
I have two more. 1, The Socialist Democrats will launch fear mongering campaign lies about cuts to Social Insecurity 2, Those here that bitch about he will not dramatically change thier own life style (Roger exempted he can get a life any more minimized) and demand thier family do the same. For IF those who believe in Gorebal Warming really did act think of what they could do by not driving, eat only what you grow/raise by your own toil.

You can take that to the bank.
The lackluster Democrat field will result in a brokered convention and the drafting of a nominee who didn't participate in the primary process.
Two candidates come to mind. Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama.

Bama is putting a major hurt on the wolverines. As for the SEC?
LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia and possibly Florida will contend next year.
It's good to see the Gophers contending, tired of hearing about OSU and Michigan all the time.
