5664 Ventilators required
Of course this is very good news. Obviously nobody (other than a few Trump hating liberals) wanted to see people die in New York due to lack of medical equipment. As it stands, the amount of ventilators they have on hand should suffice, and despite this graphic stating that they would be short on hospital beds, there are still nearly 3000 extra beds that were created for New York by the Federal Government that are largely going unused.
Now quite obviously that is also good news. Better to be overzealous in preparation than lackadaisical. The models are now projecting that we may only need 25,000 ventilators at the peak. We have 160,000 nationally. My question will be what will we do with 100,000 more ventilators that we have ordered if we end up not needing them during the crisis? Will we end up with a giant federal surplus? Free replacement for ventilators that stop working.

Day 11 – Isolation is hard. I swear my fridge just said, “What the hell do you want now?”
Day 12 – I realized why dogs get so excited about something moving outside, going for walks or car rides. I think I just barked at a squirrel.
Day 13 – If you keep a glass of wine in each hand, you can’t accidently touch your face.
Day 14 – Watched the birds fight over a worm. The Cardinals lead the Blue Jays 3–1.
