Now to claim that he simply "misread" this number is to suggest that he doesn't really have a very firm grasp on how many people truly are affected by this. I know of almost nobody who is that far out to lunch that they would either believe that 600,000 Americans have died, or that many of those deaths are occurring within the health care industry. Moreover, Biden repeats the 600,000 number multiple times.
But remains clear here is that Joe was reading from a teleprompter (you can see his eyes sort of follow as he speaks) and simply read 60,000 as 600,000. Likely because he truly isn't willing or able to keep up with this whole Covid-19 thing. But more to the point, why is it that Joe Biden can not put on an interview without having to read from a teleprompter? What is doing to happen when he has to go live in studio, or actually debate the President on stage?
Not sure where the many health care workers line comes from. Obviously that was written for him, but without any real basis for writing it. I have found no such statistical or even anecdotal evidence that medical workers are dying in any frequency from Covid-19. They are certainly at risk for catching Covid-19, but most healthcare workers are not part of any group that is susceptible to a fatal result.
