A polling disconnect?

49% Say ‘Antifa’ Is A Terrorist Organization
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 49% of Likely U.S. Voters think the “antifa" movement should be designated a terrorist organization. Thirty percent (30%) disagree, while 22% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Forty percent (40%) believe the mob violence that has erupted in several cities during protests over the police killing of an unarmed man in Minneapolis is legitimate outrage over what happened. Forty-nine percent (49%) disagree and say it’s mostly criminals taking advantage of the situation. Eleven percent (11%) are not sure. Voters see more legitimacy in the latest protests than they did in similar ones in Baltimore in 2015 and St. Louis in 2017.
Thirty-one percent (31%) of voters now think most police departments are too aggressive in dealing with violent protesters, while 28% believe they are not aggressive enough. Just 30% think the response is about right. Eleven percent (11%) again are undecided.

I find it alarming that anyone (much less 3 in 10) would believe that we should provide rioters with more space for their rioting... especially in light of the fact that the Minneapolis Police department abandoned two of their own police precinct buildings rather than confront the rioters.

What are these 31% looking for exactly, if cops standing down and allowing rioters to loot without a police presence is "too aggressive"? Are they looking for police help in getting into a closed Target or Walmart or possibly having officers provide them with some explosives or assistance with lighting buildings on fire? I don't get it?

This is the real disconnect....another R women getting smart and abandoning the GOP talking head.....so sad she wasted 20 years fellating this asshole....I sure hope she got 1/2 of his assets!!!!

Sean Hannity and his wife Jill Rhodes quietly divorced more than a year ago after over two decades of marriage.

"Sean and Jill are committed to working together for the best interests of their children," the former couple said in a joint statement to PEOPLE, adding that they separated years ago. "Amicable agreements were entered into over four years ago between Sean and Jill. They maintain a close relationship as parents to their children."

"Neither will have any further comments and ask for sake of their children that their privacy be respected," the statement concluded.

Hannity, 58, and Rhodes, 57, share two children: a son named Patrick and a daughter named Merri Kelly.

The Fox News anchor and the former journalist tied the knot in 1993 and lived in Long Island, New York. Hannity is currently the host of his namesake political talk program, which first aired in 2009.

Hannity made headlines last month after criticizing armed anti-lock down protestors in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The View co-host Joy Behar agreed with Hannity's stance, saying: "Things are really bad when even Sean Hannity is out there telling these crazy people to stop it. Just stop it."

As an example of how far gone many Democratic politicians are, check out this screed by Aisha Gomez, a member–believe it or not–of the Minnesota legislature. It is titled “Police Abolition.”

[...]

Beyond its sheer stupidity, what is most striking about Gomez’s screed is that it never mentions the actual realities of the Minneapolis police department, preferring to dwell in a weird fantasy world where Minnesota is a land of slave hunters. The fact is that every single person who has any ability to change Minneapolis’s police department is a member of the left wing of Gomez’s own DFL Party–Governor Tim Walz, Mayor Jacob Frey, and every member of the Minneapolis City Council (with the exception of one Green Party member). And the principal obstacle to reform, here as elsewhere in the world of government, is the police officers’ union. But the public sector unions are, far and away, the principal funders of Gomez’s DFL Party.

So we see no criticism of any of the public officials who are responsible for the Minneapolis Police Department, nor do we see any acknowledgement of the fact that changing the department’s culture would require taking on a public sector union, the sanctity of which is a pillar of left-wing ideology. Instead, Gomez tries to take DFL politicians off the hook by proclaiming that improvement is impossible due to Minnesota’s history as–I take it–a slave state.

Even in the corrupt world of politics, we don’t often see dishonesty of this breathtaking magnitude.

A former Obama administration intelligence official who worked in both the Departments of State and Defense has guaranteed bail for a human rights lawyer accused of firebombing a police vehicle in New York City.

The former official, Salmah Rizvi, told a judge the alleged firebomber is her "best friend." Rizvi, now an attorney at the D.C.-based law firm Ropes & Gray, helped secure the release of fellow lawyer Urooj Rahman by agreeing to be a suretor for her bail. That means Rizvi is liable for the full cost of the $250,000 bail if Rahman fails to obey the court's orders.

Some final comments on whether people were gassed or not in the park.....as I thought....lots of R bullshit wafting in the air....just like cramps!!!!

By
Paul Farhi
June 3, 2020 at 6:46 p.m. EDT
The shocking scene of peaceful protesters gassed and pummeled with rubber bullets Monday in Lafayette Square to make way for a presidential photo op had dominated the news cycle for nearly 24 hours, with images of coughing, weeping activists fleeing through billows of smoke. Journalists grappled with questions ranging from who ordered the aggressive use of force to whether President Trump’s use of military and religious symbolism raised constitutional concerns.
But late Tuesday, his reelection campaign pushed back by demanding a specific correction from the media:
The part in the stories about “tear gas” being used on the crowd, they maintained, was untrue.
Or was it? The campaign claim, based on a U.S. Park Police statement that officers used “pepper balls” and “smoke canisters” but not tear gas, appears to be a distinction without a difference — and maybe not even much of a distinction at all, according to how the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention classifies tear gas.
AD

And yet it represents a common Trump Team tactic of going on the offensive against a potentially damning news story by blurring a small debate over semantics into a wholesale attack on the integrity of the news media.

I saw according to Washington Post statistics (on the Tucker show last night) there were 10 unarmed blacks killed by policemen in 2019. He went through every one in detail and something like 5 involved vehicles trying to run over police, a couple of other more ambiguous ones and one "black and white". That policeman was arrested and charged , two others are still active. That's out of a police force of over 900,000 officers. I would say this is a number that is hard to improve.

Something like 180 officers (I remember 18 times as much) were murdered. That definitely could be improved, plus the being spit on, taunted and just general abuse they put up with. They provide a great service and risk and sacrifice their meaningful lives.

Our society has gone off the rails, ran off by a complicit media and "progressive" policies. And there is hell to pay.

Political Incompetence on Parade

No one better embodies all the foolishness and falsehoods, all the double talk and double standards perpetuated by the feckless Democrats than New York Governor Andrew “Emperor Nero” Cuomo. He fiddles with masks and PowerPoints while the city burns.

Nero wants us to believe he is the post-politics politician. In the pandemic, he claims to be guided by “science,” not politics. What he called “science” was in fact McKinsey & Company pseudo-science fueled by computer-generated fantasies.

In the pandemonium, he claims he won’t let politics enter into his decision-making, just facts. Nonsense. Cuomo won’t call in the National Guard because he can pass the buck to the incompetent New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio—a purely political play.

And when Cuomo isn’t using DeBlasio, he isn’t dunking him, he’s jousting with straw men—as when he oh-so-righteously dismisses “those who say the peaceful protestors and the rioters are the same, there’s no difference,” as no one ever said. This is a tried and true rhetorical device of politicians.

Where we had “science” in the pandemic we have “morality” in the pandemonium. Under the cover of morality comes the package labeled “systemic racism.” It is one that should be returned to sender—this is a time bomb that will blow up in the face of anyone who takes delivery.

Accept the premise of systemic racism and eventually, you must concede we can’t fix racism until we fix the system.

Let’s be clear about what constitutes the racism-harboring “system” to which those proffering the term are referring. Take your pick: private property, America, capitalism, borders, police and jails in any form, citizenship, nationhood . . . all of the above. The radical Left has said that’s what they want to undo, and you’re buying into all of that once you accept the term “systemic racism.”

Collective guilt is another stowaway in the “morality” cargo hold. Beware: this is a poison tree from which sprouts such noxious fruits as collectivism, anti-Semitism, and racism. Do not bite on it.

But this entire “no room for politics” shtick is not merely a fraud and a lie, it’s also plainly wrong. You can’t take politics out of politics. And you shouldn’t.

Politics is the art of balancing competing interests. In the pandemic, we had competing interests of health and economy, old and young, big business and small, industry and finance, public and private sectors, national interest and international strategy.

The pandemic is precisely the type of problem you don’t want to relegate to siloed experts—you need politics.

The same is true in the pandemonium. We have considerations of law, race, policing, collective bargaining, civil order, federalism, and home rule.

Anyone who tells you his solution is politics-free is giving you a line of double-talk.

Run away—double time!

Sister of Iowa woman shot dead blames protesters in heartbreaking video

A teenage sister of the Iowa woman killed at a George Floyd protest recorded a heartbreaking video hours after hearing the news — screaming, “You’re so mad at the police, you guys killed my sister!”

“I hope y’all know what the f–k y’all did,” Jasmine Kelly, 19, raged on the Facebook live video filmed just over two hours after her 22-year-old sister Italia Marie Kelly was shot dead leaving a Davenport rally Sunday.

“My sister is gone because one of you, a protester, shot my sister. A protester, not the police!” she said of Italia, who was the eldest of five siblings.

“I lost my sister because of you. You!
You are so mad at the police that you are hurting everyone else. You’re so mad at the police, you guys killed my sister,” she cried.

“By you’re f—ing ignorance I gotta bury my sister. I gotta bury my sister because y’all brought guns. It wasn’t a rubber bullet, it was a f—ing gun.”

Once again our idiot fucking asshole daddy only gets half the story.....Please let us know when the police tie this tragic shooting to a protester!!!!

, Iowa (AP) — A woman was killed early Monday in an apparently random shooting as she was leaving a protest against police brutality in Davenport, as gun violence and looting rocked the city for hours, police and her relatives said.

Italia Marie Kelly, 22, was one of two people fatally shot overnight as shootings and property destruction unfolded in many parts of Davenport, a city of 100,000 people across the Mississippi River from Illinois.

Kelly joined a protest over the death of George Floyd after getting off work at a restaurant Sunday night, according to her aunt, Amy Hale of Atchison, Kansas. She lived nearby.

Kelly, who is biracial and went by the last name Impinto, and a friend were getting in a vehicle to leave around midnight because the protest outside a Walmart had turned unruly, Hale said.

That’s when she was struck in the back by a bullet that went through her shoulder and chest, likely killing her instantly, Hale said. Attempts to resuscitate her were not successful, and Kelly was pronounced dead at a hospital.

MORE ON THE PROTESTS:
– Prosecutors charge 3 more officers in George Floyd's death
– US Legislatures slow to pass laws limiting use of force
– The American story, splintered, and those vying to tell it
Police said they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and that no arrests had been made. Her family called on any witnesses to come forward with information about the shooting and for an end to violence in the city.

“She was always smiling, always laughing. That’s why it’s so sad that she was taken in such a violent way,” Hale said. “That is not Italia. She was the bright, bubbly big personality in the room.”

Police said dozens of people gathered at a mall late Sunday and later fanned out across the city in vehicles, firing guns and damaging businesses. At one point, a police cruiser was ambushed with gunfire and an officer was injured.

Scott County imposed a curfew of 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. beginning Monday night, and Davenport’s mayor said he was asking the Iowa National Guard to help restore order.

Gov. Kim Reynolds called the violence unacceptable at a news conference and said she’s offered Davenport “the full support of the state.” The Iowa National Guard is already activated to fight the coronavirus, and Reynolds said she’s ready to deploy soldiers to help local police if that becomes necessary.

Kelly was the oldest of five siblings. Her younger sister Jasmine Kelly, 19, recorded an emotional Facebook Live video hours after the shooting.

“A protester shot my sister! A protester!” she said. “You are so mad at the police that you are hurting everyone else.”

Later, she added: “This was the ignorance of every single one of y’all that decided to shoot into a crowd. That bullet just happened to hit my sister.”

Police Chief Paul Sikorski said the fatal shooting of Kelly and another person elsewhere in the city are under investigation. Another person was injured in gunfire outside a jewelry store, he said.

--Mark Milley

supporting and defending the Constitution means, by default, supporting and defending the rule of law.

rule. of. law. what seems to be missing these days.

which leaves me to accept the fact that the left wishes to cherry pick, and is willing to dismiss the rule of law for purely political gain. murder, arson and robbery has now become mainstream acceptable behavior to advance a political agenda.

and also, i've seen our political leaders at ALL levels of government endorse the "defund the police" mantra.

another leftist idea poorly considered and thought through to it's logical conclusion.

you liberals really want to defund the police, effectively disbanding all law enforcement?

okey dokey. i'm cool with that, and here's why -

this leaves everyone to fend for themselves. and with hundreds of millions of guns in the hands of those of us on the right, you've left us to take matters into our own hands. and i'm not sure you're prepared for that outcome.

we can go from black lives matter to black lives splatter in no time flat.

that's your call.

that's quite the theory you have going on there BWAA.

The fact that I yesterday posted "BLM" as part of a quote doesn't mean I didn't know what it means.

Notice how I, a pastor, so often remain calm here and do not engage in personal attack. That has something to do with the fact that Jesus said,
"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." --Matthew 5:11-12; see also Luke 6:22-23.

That's in the Bible Trump was holding up.

Nope... I notice how upset you get when you are proven wrong and how you continue to lie about what other people say, as an excuse so you can attack them.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

That coming from you is amusing.

Not that it matters, but just to show everyone how off the rails F'n Daddy has become, here is the entire quote from yesterday:
________________

Ex-Congressman’s Son Arrested for Defacing Trump Sign

Police have arrested the 18-year old son of former Rep. Tom Rooney (REPUBLICAN-FLORIDA) after they said he spray painted “B.L.M.” on the sign at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, WPTV reports.

“B.L.M.” is an abbreviation for the “Black Lives Matter.”

_____________

For some reason, F'n assumed that I added the last line because I didn't know what it meant.

I didn't add it. It was part of the article, in quotes. [It would have been better if the article had read, "...for the phrase "Black Lives Matter" but I left it as it was.

"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

as you insult Trump, persecute Trump, and falsely say all kinds of evil against Trump as in...

...RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA!!!...

...all because of your Stage IV TDS.

you're an assclown pederast.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

"...and falsely say all kinds of evil against you"

You just falsely called me a pederast.
Was that being "assclownish"?

C.H. Truth said...

So Reverend...

Are you denying that you attacked "me" personally...

Because the autopsy showed drugs in the system of George Floyd, as if I had something to do with those drugs being in his system or that I had something to do with the idea that a defense attorney will likely use this as fodder?

You demanded that the reporting of facts made me a bad person... or at least that is what you implied. Moreover you continued to stick to this line of reasoning even after I made it clear that my opinion has been, still is, and likely will continue to be that Derek Chauvin should and will go to jail.

only hope with the earlier poll numbers I posted!!!!!

Fatty I didn’t read your post, you’ve become as irrelevant as the pederast, I just skip past

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Oh Ch, I just found it strange that you put so much emphasis on the possibility that George Floyd had been under the influence of alcohol or drugs or had earlier been violent in some way, as if to mitigate the despicable thing that was done to him.

In the rough and tumble of what goes on in discussions here, I think that what I said was fair play, but I am willing to admit that you did say that he should be jailed.

You just falsely called me a pederast.

falsely?

i don't know that.

what i DO know is that i've witnessed your several perverted and leering comments specifically addressed to the topic of minor children.

and when all i have to go on is your denial, and with your integrity and believe-ability being highly suspect at best and completely fucking shot at worst, i'll proceed under the notion that you are, in fact, a pederast.

Oh Ch, I just found it strange that you put so much emphasis on the possibility that George Floyd had been under the influence of alcohol or drugs or had earlier been violent in some way, as if to mitigate the despicable thing that was done to him.

It is simply a "fact" that is quite obviously relevant to the situation. As is the fact that the worker of the store Floyd was in complained that he was falling down intoxicated. I have no ability to put any more or less "emphasis" on it than already exists.

If Chauvin (or the other officers) go to trial, their defense attorneys will bring this up. I have not heard a single legal opinion stating otherwise.

The only "issue" I take with this... is a lack of media attention on this particular set of circumstances. Most reports simply make it out as if he was a well behaved man who simply attempted to pass a bad $20.00. The conventional wisdom of the media is that he was being cooperative (even as all witness accounts suggest that he kept falling to the ground, refused to get into the back of a police car, and that a second unit had to be called in for back up).

My issue with this... has nothing to do with defending Chauvin or demonizing Floyd. It has everything to do with the fact that this information will be provided to the real jury while the jury of public opinion is being misinformed. If this extra information allows for the possibility that some of these officers may not end up in jail or that Chauvin is ultimately not found guilty of the "murder" (only the manslaughter)...

You will have more rioting because people will not understand, because we spent to much time trying to "hide" anything negative about Floyd that might be relevant.

What ever happened to honesty is the best policy?

Because if we were more honest about this, it might prevent any possible problems if the court case doesn't go the way some would like it to go.

If you REALLY believe I am a pederast or a pedophile, you are honor bound, for the sake of children, to report me to the authorities along with your accusations, but then you would have to reveal your identity and stand behind your accusations and thus be subject to legal action by me for your baseless charges.

PP-400-306
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Three Nevada men with ties to a loose movement of right-wing extremists advocating the overthrow of the U.S. government have been arrested on terrorism-related charges in what authorities say was a conspiracy to spark violence during recent protests in Las Vegas.

Federal prosecutors say the three white men with U.S. military experience are accused of conspiring to carry out a plan that began in April in conjunction with protests to reopen businesses closed because of the coronavirus.

More recently, they sought to capitalize on protests over the death of George Floyd, a black man who died in Minneapolis after a white officer pressed his knee into his neck for several minutes even after he stopped moving and pleading for air, prosecutors said.

The three men were arrested Saturday on the way to a protest in downtown Las Vegas after filling gas cans at a parking lot and making Molotov cocktails in glass bottles, according to a copy of the criminal complaint obtained by The Associated Press.

“People have a right to peacefully protest. These men are agitators and instigators. Their point was to hijack the protests into violence,” Nicholas Trutanich, U.S. attorney in Nevada, told AP. He referred to what he called “real and legitimate outrage” over Floyd's death.

The complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas on Wednesday said they self-identified as part of the “boogaloo” movement, which U.S. prosecutors said in the document is “a term used by extremists to signify coming civil war and/or fall of civilization.”

Stephen T. Parshall, 35, Andrew T. Lynam Jr., 23, and William L. Loomis, 40, were being held on $1 million bond each in the Clark County jail Wednesday, according to court records. Lynam is from suburban Henderson and the others are from Las Vegas.

The complaint said Lynam is an Army reservist, with Parshall formerly enlisted in the Navy and Loomis formerly enlisted in the Air Force.

I grant that it could be helpful to more fully depict the actual situation of that day.

On the other hand, the possibility that it could cut down much on the anger of the reaction is made problematic by the fact that there have been so MANY videos over the last years depicting outrageous and totally indefensible police actions against blacks.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In a moment of high drama at the White House on Tuesday morning, Donald J. Trump dove under his desk after a can of Diet Coke opened with an unexpectedly loud sound.

But he was just inspecting the desk.

Former White House chief of staff John Kelly defended James Mattis on Thursday after President Trump attacked the former defense secretary as "the world's most overrated general" and claimed on Twitter that he was fired.

What he's saying: “The president did not fire him. He did not ask for his resignation,” Kelly told the Washington Post in an interview. “The president has clearly forgotten how it actually happened or is confused."

"The president tweeted a very positive tweet about Jim until he started to see on Fox News their interpretation of his letter," Kelly added. "Then he got nasty. Jim Mattis is a honorable man."
The big picture: Mattis made headlines on Wednesday by condemning President Trump for making a "mockery of our Constitution," writing in a blistering statement that he was "appalled" at the president's response to mass protests in the wake of George Floyd's killing.

Trump tweeted on Wednesday evening in response: "Probably the only thing Barack Obama & I have in common is that we both had the honor of firing Jim Mattis, the world’s most overrated General. I asked for his letter of resignation, & felt great about it."
