Can someone explain this to me?

Minneapolis seeks over $55 million in aid to restore city ravaged by riots
The Minneapolis mayor is asking for federal help cleaning up and rebuilding his city after rioters caused at least $55 million worth of damage through looting, burning, and defacing public and private property.

That cost estimate is likely to increase in the coming days as government officials continue to tally the damage done in the wake of George Floyd’s death, Mayor Jacob Frey said according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and the state’s congressional delegation are also pushing the Trump administration and Congress for funding.

So these protests, demonstrations, and riots are all being caused by the concept that the actions of one police officer is not only indicative of a corrupt and racist American police force, but a corrupt and racist American society as a whole. But on the flip side, we should not attempt to tie any of this riot damage to the "peaceful" protesters, because that would be unfair to the protesters?

One man's actions represent an entire society?

But hundreds of millions in rioting damage is not indicative of anything?

Is that really the logical argument here?

One man's action?

Are you really that insensitive to the fact that for years and years now, and especially more recently, blacks have been looking at video after video after video depicting incidents where officers fired weapons and killed blacks when it was TOTALLY without justification.* And they have for even longer been reading about incident after incident after incident where the killing of blacks was totally without justification.

I personally know of a case in the fifties in a community where I served a church where a black man was pulled from a creek wrapped up in chains and the coroner ruled it a suicide. And blacks know of many such cases.

And in many of the video cases, charges were brought ONLYy after the video surfaced and would NEVER have been brought without the existence of the video.

And you cannot understand the mounting outrage and anger?

Now, I am NOT justifying violence and looting and arson and other destruction of property, but I know all that is part of the underlying causes.
