Chicago saw its highest number of gun violence victims in a single weekend this year with 104 people shot across the city from Friday evening to Monday morning, 14 of them fatally. Five of those killed were minors.
The weekend saw more shooting victims but less fatalities than the last weekend of May, when 85 people were shot, 24 of them fatally — Chicago’s most deadly weekend in years.

So, go ahead and defund the police if you want. You will deserve the police you get and the community that results. I suggest you begin to place the blame where it belongs. Start with the family that neglects their children; the neighbors afraid to take any action when they see criminal behavior. Blame the preachers who care more about their collection plate then eliminating problems in their communities. Blame the aldermen who only worry about the kickback they get from the realtor looking to sell a property and the gang donations to their reelection campaigns. Blame the mayor who revels in the sense of power and the under-table money they make. Blame the judges who are more concerned with reelection then criminal justice. Blame the main-stream media who slant and bend stories to increase their own personal agenda rather than show journalistic integrity and report something accurately.
There is a long list of those that should be blamed and defunded before you ever get to the police. If you did, you might find at that point any problem with the police will probably have gone away.
I know I am preaching to the choir here. This needs to be read by civilians not worn officers who each day risk their lives, so pass this on. Share it on your Facebook page so your non-police friends might read it. More important stay safe. These are dangerous times.

Before the coronavirus pandemic shut down Tampa’s hotels and put her out of work, Audrey Scaglione said she expected to vote for Donald Trump a second time. Now the contract food service worker finds herself struggling to decide.
“I’m just really unsure right now,” said Scaglione, who says she leans Republican but also previously voted for Barack Obama. “It is so hard to tell. I don’t think I can.”
She has not heard much from former vice president Joe Biden, the Democratic choice for president, and has few kind words for Florida’s Republican governor, Ron DeSantis, a close Trump ally, who has done little to improve a byzantine unemployment benefit system she spent months navigating.
And then there is the president himself. “If he would just stop tweeting,” she said, “I think everything would be a little bit better.”
Scaglione’s dilemma has become a burgeoning obsession for Republican strategists, who have watched a perilous fall in support for Trump’s reelection over the past few months. The shift has resulted in an advantage of five to six points in key Midwestern swing states that offered Biden only marginal leads at the start of the year.
At the core of the erosion is a dramatic abandonment of Trump by key demographic groups. The rebellion by college-educated women against the president in 2018, which gave Democrats control of the U.S. House via victories in the suburbs, has begun to register more deeply in recent months among non-college-educated and older women.
Trump’s weekend rally in Tulsa, which focused more on his personal grievances than on solutions to America’s pressing problems, reinforced the sentiments that political strategists say have driven women to desert him.
