Results published online Wednesday by the New England Journal of Medicine showed little difference in the onset of COVID-19 in 414 people who took hydroxychloroquine and a comparison group of 407 that took only folic acid vitamins. All participants had at least moderate risk for COVID-19 after being exposed to others in their homes or workplaces who had the illness.
There was a small difference, as 11.8% of people taking the drug developed COVID-19, compared with 14.3% of those taking vitamins, the study showed. However, that difference was considered statistically insignificant.
Even if valid, the small difference means that 42 people would have to take the drug prophylactically to prevent one COVID-19 case. That would be costly and expose people to drug side effects. The study showed that 40% experienced mild side effects such as nausea, but it allayed fears that widespread use of the drug could result in cardiac and other complications.
But they also did not come across the same side effects being touted by a recently debunked study that prompted many people to stop using hydroxychloroquine all together. The only side effects that patients had was some nausea in about 40% of the patients.
The irony is that this study came out shortly after it was determined that the Lancet study that was so highly touted as a legitimate comprehensive gathering of data was completely flawed and that the authors of that study included an adult content model and a science fiction author. The fact that so many people were "hoping" hydroxychloroquine was harmful, was likely the reason why people flocked to that particular study.

Still hoping the stable genius Trump hit upon a cure...
Research Scientists all over the country want to find a cure and are working on it. Are they all stable geniuses too?
Research scientists all over the country are examining the drug in question in part because they want to warn people not to take it if it is of no help with Covid-19 and is perhaps even unsafe. In other words, they are, in part, working to discredit what stable genius Trump said, if his statement needs to be discredited.

You don't hope we in the US discover a cure, very queer.
Biden Sides with the Rioters.
Pres. Trump Sides with the Floyd family and Good Leo's.
Au contraire, I want a genuine cure.
Trump has alienated "his" generals.
Then just stop your hate and state that you want a cure James.
Biden will bring us together, specifically how?
Maybe those generals need to be reminded
I, ___________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me
If he denounces the Commander in Chief who was/is elected by the people, he also denounces his oath of allegiance. Perhaps it is time for the general to find residence elsewhere.
"I, ___________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me"

Interesting.
James, is it your personal opinion Pres. Trump is not defending and Supporting the US Constitution?

Graham Defends Trump from Mattis Criticism
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) pushed back on former Defense Secretary James Mattis’s criticism of President Trump over the handling of nationwide protests against police brutality.
Said Graham:
“I think you’re missing something here my friend. You’re missing the fact that the liberal media has taken every event in the last three and half years and laid it at the president’s feet. I’m not saying he’s blameless, but I am saying that you’re buying into a narrative that I think is quite frankly unfair.”
__________
Perhaps Graham is overlooking the fact that Mattis is profoundly upset because he is utterly convinced that Trump has finally crossed a constitutional line that no President should ever cross.
And apparently there are generals who agree.
If the drug is so unsafe, it wouldn't already by on the market. You're talking out your ass just to oppose Trump.
And apparently there are generals who agree.
that's nice, pederast.
when all is said and done, mattis et. al. seem to take issue with Trump's rhetoric.
oh well. you can be certain that with all of the legal counsel Trump has at his disposal his actions will be completely constitutional.
and if a general receives a legal order and refuses to carry it out, he or she is insubordinate.
oh, and there is no qualifier to the Constitution. especially bullshit like this:
"UNDERSTOOD: AS LONG AS, AND ONLY AS LONG AS, THEY TOO SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION."
what you've failed to consider is that there are no qualifiers, no optional codicils, no fucking menu of Constitutional rights or rules of law that you get to decide not to agree with. every single one of them applies to every single one of us.
and even if you would submit that a person reserves the right to conscientiously object, you are not entitled to assault, murder, arson, steal and terrorize as part of that objection.
Research scientists all over the country are examining the drug in question in part because they want to warn people not to take it if it is of no help with Covid-19 and is perhaps even unsafe.
if that were true then the lancet and the NEJOM would not have had to resort to believing the "study" conducted by some obscure and likely phony 5 person company.
many drugs treat multiple ailments, pederast. and sometimes these additional uses are stumbled upon quite by accident.
a friend of mine is a GI doc. he treats patients with ulcerative colitis.not long ago it was discovered that drugs used to treat eczema and psoriasis are effective in treating UC via infusion therapy.
bottom line - if you're under the care of a licensed physician then the drugs you are prescribed are between you and your doc, and should be free from being used as political fodder.
and that's the problem with you fucking assholes. you insist upon politicizing EVERYTHING.

And can't the "pastor" leave one thread for just normal conversation or a topic. I would suggest adding a permanent Goddard thread where he can constantly update all his tripe (I don't think he understands that everyone here can go to his blog if we want). More fencing installed around White House complex
Additional fencing and barriers were installed near the White House on Thursday as security around the complex increases amid ongoing protests in Washington, D.C., following the death of George Floyd.
Officials have erected tall fencing along 17th Street and placed concrete barriers along Pennsylvania Avenue near the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. The expanded measures come as law enforcement have pushed back protesters further away from the White House in each of the last two days.
The Secret Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the added barriers or how long they might remain in place.
Law enforcement has used vehicles, military police and fencing in recent days to block pedestrian and vehicle traffic from Pennsylvania Avenue and parts of H Street and 16th Street near the White House.
The escalation in security measures comes even as protests have been largely peaceful in the last two days in the nation's capital.
Law enforcement used smoke canisters and pepper balls, which have similar effects to tear gas, to aggressively disperse protesters from Lafayette Square near the White House on Monday a short time before President Trump walked to nearby St. John's Church for a photo-op.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, law enforcement set up barriers and a line of officers further away from the White House to keep demonstrators at a greater distance.
Trump has repeatedly called for "law and order" and urged state and local leaders to "dominate" the streets and crack down on protests, which have persisted for more than a week since Floyd, an unarmed black man, died after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for several minutes during an arrest.
The president retreated to a secure bunker on Friday as protests escalated near the White House, though he claimed it was to do an "inspection" of the area.

WHO resumes hydroxychloroquine study for Covid-19, after reviewing safety concerns
By ANDREW JOSEPH @DrewQJosephJUNE 3, 2020
The World Health Organization is resuming a clinical trial exploring whether the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine can effectively treat Covid-19, after pausing enrollment in the study to review safety concerns about the drug.
The hydroxychloroquine investigation is just one arm of the agency’s Solidarity Trial, which is testing different therapies to determine which are beneficial in the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. The WHO last week temporarily suspended the hydroxychloroquine arm after a separate study published in the Lancet raised warnings about the drug’s safety.
Like the Lancet study, other observational studies had not found any apparent benefit for the drug in Covid-19. But the Lancet study prompted additional concerns because it found the drug was also associated with higher mortality.
Outside experts, however, have since questioned the sources and analysis of the patient data included in the Lancet study, which were provided by a little-known company called Surgisphere. They cited inconsistencies in the data — some of which have since been corrected — and a lack of transparency about which countries and hospitals provided the information.
The Lancet study led the WHO to pause the hydroxychloroquine study so the trial’s data safety monitoring board could analyze the results generated so far and see if any safety concerns were apparent.
At a press briefing Wednesday, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO’s director-general, said the board reviewed the available mortality data and found “no reasons to modify the trial.” He said the WHO was telling the investigators involved in the study to resume their work.
More than 400 hospitals in 35 countries are participating in the Solidarity Trial, which involves thousands of patients.

STUDY: 99.3% of Broadcast Networks' Protest Coverage Ignores Mob's Murder Victims
Broadcast networks ABC, CBS, and NBC have been consistent cheerleaders for the nationwide protests against police brutality, offering nearly 12 hours of coverage (710 minutes) over the past seven days on just their flagship morning and evening news shows. But despite dedicating all of those hours of airtime to the protests and riots, these networks have barely breathed a word about those who have died in the resulting violence.
MRC analysts examined all three broadcast networks’ major morning and evening newscasts between May 28 and June 3, and found that the total airtime spent on those who died during the past week of riots accounted to just four and a half minutes, or less than one percent of the total protest-related coverage.
CBS spent just a single minute (61 seconds) on individuals killed during the riots, amounting to half a percent of their 201 minutes of protest coverage. ABC gave the victims 91 seconds, or 0.76 percent of their total 200 minutes spent on the demonstrations. On NBC, the victims received just over two minutes, or 0.7% of the network’s 309 minutes of protest-related programming.
According to the Associated Press, at least ten individuals have been killed in the riots over the past week, including at least three unarmed African-Americans...

I do not doubt that it was probably necessary that several of the black men therin depicted had to be shot.

“We are not counterprotesters. We're just going to make sure Coeur d'Alene is safe,” said Conrad Nelsen, shown holding a flag during a protest Tuesday. But many Idaho protesters don’t feel safer with armed civilians showing up.

Protesters had only begun assembling peacefully in Idaho when a Facebook page for retired police officers advised its followers to stay on high alert.
“We will protect our neighborhoods,” it vowed.
So when early reports about potential violence surfaced a day later — claiming “ANTIFA agitators” were storming the state this week — scores of residents took to the streets. Armed with military-style assault rifles, they stood guard in places such as Coeur d’Alene, a resort town of 50,000 on a lake in northwest Idaho.
“Enough of us swung into action, and put the word out on social media and elsewhere, that we were able to deploy and meet any violent elements that might come here from out of state,” said Trevor Treller, a sommelier and one of the armed locals. Treller, 48, said he mobilized after hearing from trusted voices that “antifa types” were on the move.
AD
It would not prove to be true.
As vigils and protest actions unfolded in Idaho this week, local officials across the state confirmed that not a single participant was known to have defiled a home or storefront in the name of “antifa,” a loose label attributed to far-left activists. Many of the rumors about violent protests originated from dubious Facebook posts, often shared widely and rarely debunked, residents there said.
The raft of myths and misstatements that triggered visceral reactions throughout Idaho illustrates how long-standing grievances have fused with the vast reach of social media during protests that have swept through the country — in big cities and rural towns — after the killing of a black man in the custody of Minneapolis police last week. Though many of the protests have been peaceful pleas to redress racial injustice, scenes of burning buildings and trashed businesses — often not at the hands of the demonstrators — have fueled the perception of a country under siege.

Police groups break with Biden
Clearly, he’s made a lot of changes the way candidates do during the primary process, but he kept moving left and fell off the deep end,” said Bill Johnson, executive director of the National Association of Police Organizations, the umbrella organization for Police Benevolent Association chapters.
“For Joe Biden, police are shaking their heads because he used to be a stand-up guy who backed law enforcement,” Johnson said. “But it seems in his old age, for whatever reason, he’s writing a sad final chapter when it comes to supporting law enforcement.”

Oops.....this should piss the idiot of Georgia off!!!!! Keep drinking sport.....!!!!
President Donald Trump is facing the bleakest outlook for his reelection bid so far, with his polling numbers plunging in both public and private surveys and his campaign beginning to worry about his standing in states like Ohio and Iowa that he carried by wide margins four years ago.
The Trump campaign has recently undertaken a multimillion-dollar advertising effort in those two states as well as in Arizona in hopes of improving his standing while also shaking up his political operation and turning new attention to states like Georgia that were once considered reliably Republican. In private, Trump has
expressed concern that his campaign is not battle-ready for the general election, while Republicans are concerned about whether the president can emerge in a strong position from the national crises battering the country.
Trump has been consistently unpopular as president with a majority of Americans; his advisers have long seen his effort to win a new term as depending on the loyalty of his conservative base and the Republican-friendly tilt of the Electoral College — factors that could allow the president to capture another thin victory despite the strong possibility of losing the popular vote again.
But amid the human and economic devastation of the coronavirus pandemic and now a wave of demonstrations and social unrest in American cities, Trump has fallen significantly behind his Democratic challenger, Joe Biden

Tom Cotton Did Us a Favor by Exposing a Bad Law with a Bad NYT Op-Ed
The senator’s ideas on sending troops into cities are wrong and now we know how to stop them.
By JACK SHAFER at POLITICO
06/04/2020 07:36 PM EDT
Jack Shafer is Politico’s senior media writer.
Sen. Tom Cotton, (R-Ark.), set off a stink bomb smelled around the world on Wednesday with a New York Times op-ed advocating the invasion of U.S. cities with military troops to police protesters. Times staffers took to Twitter to protest, coalescing around the message that the piece endangered the lives of black Times journalists. Masses of subscribers reportedly phoned in to cancel. And the Times NewsGuild denounced the op-ed page for amplifying Cotton’s voice.
You can criticize the page for running Cotton’s retrograde views, which anybody with even a tincture of civil libertarianism running through their veins knows is wrong. But you can’t accuse the page of inconsistency. The 50-year-old section has been outraging or disappointing—depending on your point of view—readers since its founding. As press scholar Michael J. Socolow explains in his pocket-history of the New York Times op-ed page, the section was conceived as a forum for extreme ideas that did not fit elsewhere in the paper.
The early 1970s were a fractious period, perhaps as fractious as today, and the page’s invitation to the immoderate to contribute always made trouble. Writers have used its columns to call for revolution and for federal funding of a mercenary force. One Hollywood actor wrote pages to complain that “the social soul of America is so sick that even the overthrow of a political regime may be insufficient.” In 2008, Nora Ephron demanded that the page fire newly hired columnist William Kristol before he had written his first piece for it. The page has published the Hamas party line, Vladimir Putin’s thoughts on Syria, and the foreign policy ideas of Muammar Qaddafi. In 2017, the page’s “Red Century“ series invited Monty Python references by publishing its extended look at the bright side of Communism. In recent months, the page has showcased a piece written by a leader of the Taliban, which is at war with the U.S. in Afghanistan, and columnist Bret Stephens, forever stepping on a rake and breaking his nose, did it again by seeming to claim Ashkenazi Jews are smarter than other people. Sometimes authoritative, often fallible, the section stays on top of the news.
No matter what your politics, if you’re looking for offense you can always find it, sooner or later, in the New York Times op-ed page.
The unique thing about the Cotton op-ed controversy is that he’s
not calling for revolution,
finding a nice word to say about Stalin,
calling for mercenaries,
or proposing some other off-the-wall policy change.
He’s simply calling for the implementation of a law already on the books, the Insurrection Act.
I’m with everybody—New York Times staffers included—who are furious with Cotton for demanding that our own military invade U.S. cities. But I also feel that we owe Cotton a debt of gratitude for calling our deeper attention to this archaic law, whose basic bones were legislated more the two centuries ago, that makes it legal for presidents to usurp our freedom based on their fancy. According to the Insurrection Act’s section 332, presidents can dispatch federal troops to American cities over the objections of their governors when conditions “make it impracticable to enforce the laws of the United States.”
Presidents don’t need such broad, god-like powers to help maintain civil order. For one thing, local police, sheriffs, state patrols and state national guards almost always possess the necessary force to contain riots and protect public safety. When governors lack such force and sense things are out of control, other portions of the act allow them to request federal troops, as Republican California Gov. Pete Wilson did during the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Finally, the military neither desires the role of occupying force, as retired Marine general James Mattis reminded us Wednesday, nor is it trained in the techniques law enforcement. So why not sunset section 332? By removing the arrow from the president’s quiver, we can prevent President Donald Trump from ever threatening us with federal troops again (as he did Monday) and block any future president (Cotton appears to have presidential aspirations) from brandishing it.
Will Wilkinson of the Niskanen Institute, who disagrees with the Times’ editorial decision to publish the Cotton piece, makes the separate point that the short-term effect of its publication seems to have undone Cotton’s ambitions to implement the act. A first reading of public sentiment would suggest that his op-ed has hardened opposition to “setting the military against protesters,” he notes. By casting a bright flashlight on the act, Cotton might also have increased the likelihood that its most dangerous section will be repealed.
Like other readers, I was horrified to learn that a sitting U.S. senator (who has been mentioned as a possible secretary of defense) wants to sponsor the military occupation of his own people. My breath shortened, too, when I read his demands for “an overwhelming show of force to disperse, detain and ultimately deter lawbreakers.” But instead of being outraged by the Times publication of the Cotton op-ed, I’m grateful, because it damningly revealed in his own words his dangerous intentions better than any mere news story or interview could have. Remember, when Cotton tweeted on Monday that the “101st Airborne Division” should be called in to battle “these Antifa terrorists,” his comments got relatively little push-back from the press until he landed the Times piece. (The protest currently swamping Cotton is also a protest against Trump, but that’s another column.)
So, thanks to the Times (even though the paper now says the piece didn’t meet its standards) and special thanks to Cotton. Can anybody recommend a florist who specializes in non-contact deliveries so I can send him a bouquet?
******
Bloomberg Opinion’s Francis Wilkinson speaks for me when he calls Cotton’s essay “a demagogic hash, as greasy as the bacon Senator Ted Cruz once cooked on the muzzle of an AR-15.” Send bacon to Shafer.Politico@gmail.com. The Washington Post:
White House Turns Into a Fortress
“The security perimeter around the White House keeps expanding. Tall black fencing is going up seemingly by the hour. Armed guards and sharpshooters and combat troops are omnipresent.
“In the 72 hours since Monday’s melee at Lafayette Square, the White House has been transformed into a veritable fortress — the physical manifestation of President Trump’s vision of law-and-order “domination” over the millions of Americans who have taken the streets to protest racial injustice.
“The White House is now so heavily fortified that it resembles the monarchical palaces or authoritarian compounds of regimes in faraway lands.”
BUNKER WHITE HOUSE
USA TODAY:
Emotional Debate Rages as Paul Blocks Anti-Lynching Bill
“An anti-lynching bill that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has held up in the Senate for several months led to a heated and passionate battle on the Senate floor Thursday, pitting the Kentucky Republican at odds with two of the Senate’s three black members over changes to the bipartisan legislation.
“The emotional debate centered on the Emmett Till Anti-lynching Act, which passed the House in a bipartisan 410-4 vote in February and would make lynching a federal crime."
So now let the Republican Senate pass a Republican-backed Senate bill stating that lynching is NOT a federal crime.
Really, got the exact vote count?
By Name? and how they voted on the final actual bill?
It's not about lynching. Paul wants some clarifying language. Sorry you're not able to even research it.
Rush has pic on his website of bill clinton standing in front of the same church holding the same book. Guess what? No big democrat outrage.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour" is the ninth commandment of the Ten Commandments, "
James doesn't know the above.
In case you missed it, Hillary Clinton lost her appeal in court yesterday, and will have to testify in September.
The judge ordered Clinton to testify at a deposition for a lawsuit related to her use of a private email server for involving official business while working as secretary of State under President Barack Obama.
Judge Royce Lamberth says, “It is time to hear directly from Secretary Clinton.”
“Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people -- does not even pretend to try.”
"Instead he tries to divide us. We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort.”
This is no liberal politician saying this. It’s Marine Corps General James Mattis.
Will the Mexicans pay for the new wall around the White House?
So now let the Republican Senate pass a Republican-backed Senate bill stating that lynching is NOT a federal crime.
This is a solution in search of a problem. There is no systematic nation-wide lynchings. I can't even remember when the last lynching was.
Lynching is murder in the first degree. A violation of state law that guarantees you spend the rest of your life in prison and possible execution. (execution by hanging would be appropriate).
Lynching is a violation of the civil rights act. That is a federal crime.
Minneapolis is to disband in there police department .
An extraordinarily stupid move.
Elections do have consequences.
For one thing, local police, sheriffs, state patrols and state national guards almost always possess the necessary force to contain riots and protect public safety.
except when they're capitulating to the rioters by taking a fucking knee with them.
then... not so much. so there's your "almost" in "almost always."
so far the rioters have done a very effective job of either attacking and killing the police, or emasculating them.

precisely. you have to hand it to democrats though. they can take virtually anything and turn it into outrage porn. and this is no exception. they go out of their way to take an issue that is not a fucking problem, and make it one simply for political advantage.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has asked contractors for help making President Trump’s border wall more difficult to climb over and cut through, an acknowledgment that the design currently being installed across hundreds of miles of the U.S.-Mexico boundary remains vulnerable.
The new request for information notice that CBP posted gives federal contractors until June 12 to suggest new anti-breaching and anti-climbing technology and tools, while also inviting proposals for “private party construction” that would allow investors and activists to acquire land, build a barrier on it and sell the whole thing to the government.
Trump continues to campaign for reelection on a promise to complete nearly 500 miles of new barrier along the border with Mexico by the end of 2020, but administration officials have scaled back that goal in recent weeks. The president has ceased promoting the $15 billion barrier as “impenetrable” in the months since The Washington Post reported smuggling crews have been sawing through new sections of the structure using inexpensive power tools.
In a statement, CBP officials said their new request for information — first reported by the KJZZ Fronteras Desk in Arizona — does not amount to an admission that the current design is inadequate or flawed.
“We have an adaptive adversary; regardless of materials, nothing is impenetrable if given unlimited time and tools,” the agency said. “Walls provide the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) the ability to slow and stop potential crossings. That means building wall will deter some people from attempting to cross, while slowing the efforts of those who still try.”
The public notice is the first indication CBP officials do not think the steel bollard design they selected from prototypes in 2017 is sufficiently formidable to achieve that goal. The primary design, consisting of 30-foot-tall steel bollards topped with flat metal anti-climb panels, is now being installed by private contractors at multiple locations along the border.

Another moronic tweet and opinion put out by the fucking loser daddy.....sad how little you have!!!! You are as funny as a cop killing a man on the street while people watched
This is not 1968. It’s worse.
The late 1960s were the heyday of modern American liberalism, which was then an ideology of hope. A bipartisan Congress passed landmark civil-rights legislation in 1964 and 1965. The precipitating event of the urban riots in 1968 was the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. New York, Trenton, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, Kansas City, and Washington were on fire. Arguably back then, despite passage of President Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society programs, not enough time had passed for liberal policies to ameliorate conditions in the inner cities. . .
A primary claim made repeatedly this week is that the U.S., which means the American people, are guilty of perpetual “systemic racism.”
It is evident from the coverage that most of the demonstrators were born after 1990. By then, the Great Society programs had been in place for 25 years, and now it is 55 years. Annual budget appropriations totaling multiple trillions of dollars on Medicaid, food stamps, welfare, public housing, rent subsidies and federal aid to public schools have produced . . . what?
Since the 1960s, essentially little has changed in the neighborhoods at the center of those long-ago urban riots. By current telling, they are about as poor, as crime-ridden, as under-educated and in poor health as they were when LBJ said he would change them. That means five decades of stasis and stagnation in America’s most marginalized places, virtually all of it under Democratic—now “progressive”—political control.
The failure of the liberal model is by now so embarrassing that the current owners of that model have created an alternative universe of explanations, such as blaming it on American settlers in the early 17th century or the nonexistence of “justice.”
This is worse than 1968, because the political system is now engaged in a systemic act of forgetting. Let’s forget that this policy failure has happened or why. Let’s forget, for instance, that the people living in New York’s public housing are overrun with rats, unlit hallways and no heat in the winter. Let’s forget that many blacks have indeed been left behind—by a well-documented migration since 1990 of black Americans out of northern cities and Los Angeles into the South, where they have gone in search of economic opportunity. Let’s forget, despite a massive per annum outlay on Medicaid—some $593 billion in 2018—that black Americans still have a higher incidence of chronic disease.
Simply performing a cut-and-paste on 50 years of U.S. political history is an act of nihilism. Pummeled by activists and the media with constant accusations of “systemic racism,” as this week, and despite what many thought were 50 years of good-faith efforts on racial conciliation, people go numb, concluding that the solution being offered now is, literally, no solution.

And the problem is that stores staying or coming in to replace are stuck with substantially higher insurance costs, additional security costs and a clientele which is much poorer than before the riots.
Hence higher prices for all people living in the area, less disposable income. A cascading effect that locks people into poverty. and more crime. for a long time. Tragic.

The New York Times:
Trump Agrees to Send Home Troops From Washington
“President Trump agreed on Thursday to begin sending home 82nd Airborne Division troops he had ordered to Washington, temporarily easing a contentious standoff with the Pentagon over the role of the armed forces in quelling protests that have broken out across the nation.
“Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper initially tried to send home a small portion of the 1,600 active-duty troops on Wednesday, only to have Mr. Trump order him to reverse course during an angry meeting.
“What appeared on Thursday to be an uneasy truce between the White House and Pentagon did not mean that the conflict was over. While Mr. Trump’s advisers counseled him not to fire Mr. Esper, the president spent much of the day privately railing about the defense secretary.

President Trump hit back at Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) for saying she was “struggling” with whether to vote for his re-election, the Anchorage Daily News reports.
He said he would actively campaign against her when she is up for re-election in two years.
Said Trump: “Get any candidate ready, good or bad, I don’t care, I’m endorsing. If you have a pulse, I’m with you!”
SO ALL YOU HAVE TO HAVE IS A BEATING HEART AND THIS CREEP OF A PRESIDENT IS FOR YOU. AND GUESS WHAT, IN TWO YEARS HE WILL BE OUT OF OFFICE AND A PARIAH TO REPUBLICANS.

Trump Shares Letter Calling Protesters Terrorists
President Trump tweeted out a letter that referred to a group of protesters as “terrorists,” following their violent ouster from a park near the White House earlier this week.
The letter is signed by Trump’s former lawyer John Dowd and addressed to “Jim” in a probable reference to former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis.
THOSE "TERRORISTS" WERE PEACEFULLY PROTESTING AMERICAN CITIZENS, MR. PRETEND PRESIDENT. THERE ARE INCREASING MILLIONS OF THEM ACROSS OUR NATION.

Regular readers of this blog know the constant spamming, lying and obsession for that left-wing Taegan Goddard blog by a certain poster. That poster james, also called the "pastor" (which he claims to be even if you can't tell by his actions) is the POS responsible and considers his mindless rude behavior his hobby. Sometimes he credits Taegan Goddard, sometimes he doesn't.
He has descended so far into TDS and desperation he fills every discussion thread with what people have described as an avalanche of spam. If this is being posted today is no different. He even gets his edited news from that site and spams that if he thinks it will hurt Trump. Every day he repeats what that site posts, regardless of topic. It gets so bad he feels the need to even repeat his spam multiple times in a single thread as well as posting in every active thread the very same spam.
He has exhibited the same mental deterioration as Joe Biden and his postings should be given the same consideration. Both their heads will probably explode when it becomes obvious that Trump will win a second term. Biden will not even notice his head did.

FALSE PRESIDENT, FALSE CONVENTION
NBC:
GOP May Try Multi-City, Rolling Convention
“As Republicans scramble to reboot the GOP convention, one option gaining traction is a multistate affair with major speeches and rallies in a variety of cities.
“Part of the appeal of the roadshow approach is that it could allow President Trump to claim having commanded the highest-attended convention audience in history, they said, and to accept his renomination with all the fanfare he envisioned.”

And the problem is that stores staying or coming in to replace are stuck with substantially higher insurance costs, additional security costs and a clientele which is much poorer than before the riots.
and best of all...
...no guarantee that there won't be another riot with the store being burned to the ground yet AGAIN.
thanks to democrat "leaders" siding with the animals.
when essential stores like grocery's and department stores flee, just think of it as them "taking a knee."

if esper needs to be reminded that he serves at the pleasure of the president, then he's too fucking stupid to have the job.
James thinks a little outside the box thinking is desperation. All his spamming cannot remove the silent majority voters who see what liberal democrats are doing and want no part of it.

every so often murkowski feels the need to pull her "look at me!" shit.

if she really DID possess the courage of her convictions she would jump the fence and become a democrat, since the only person she seems to be fooling is herself.

it was outside the box thinking that put Trump in the white house.

Twitter disables Trump campaign's George Floyd video tribute
Twitter has blocked a Trump campaign video tribute to George Floyd over a copyright claim, in a move that adds to tensions between the social media platform and the U.S. president, one of its most widely followed users.
The company put a label on a video posted by the @TeamTrump account that said, “This media has been disabled in response to a claim by the copyright owner.” The video was still up on President Donald Trump’s YouTube channel and includes pictures of Floyd, whose death sparked widespread protests, at the start.
“Per our copyright policy, we respond to valid copyright complaints sent to us by a copyright owner or their authorized representatives,” Twitter said in a statement. It did not say who made the complaint.
The three minute and 45 second clip is a montage of photos and videos of peaceful marches and police officers hugging protesters interspersed with some scenes of burning buildings and vandalism, set to gentle piano music and Trump speaking.
Last month, Twitter placed fact-check warnings on two tweets from Trump's own account that called mail-in ballots “fraudulent” and predicted problems with the November U.S. elections. Under the tweets, there is now a link reading “Get the facts about mail-in ballots” that guides users to a Twitter “moments” page with fact checks and news stories about Trump’s unsubstantiated claims.
It also demoted and placed a stronger warning on a third Trump tweet about Minneapolis protests that read, in part, that “when the looting starts, the shooting starts.” Twitter said that the tweet had violated the platform’s rules by glorifying violence.
Trump responded by threatening to retaliate against social media companies.
Last year, Twitter also removed a Trump tweet that featured a doctored Nickelback music video clip that took aim at former Vice President Joe Biden, after receiving copyright complaints.
WOW, AOL is still around and someone is still using them !!!
and big tech censorship continues.
Good thing Trumps is still president and has ways to address.

Also I think Biden's appearance on the view stunned even his supporters.
No way he makes it until November unless the US burns to the ground.

In my next post I will give a link to the suppressed video, with some voice overlay from conservative commentators who were watching it. I do not like the video, but free speech demands that it as well as objections to it must be heard.

so cops are being murdered and business are being looted and burned in service to A LIE.
The narrative has been repeated so frequently, so universally, that it’s an unassailable given, a fact not to be challenged. Indeed, it’s an article of faith which, if questioned, exposes the heretic to rage, venom, and ostracization. Some fear losing their jobs. Best therefore, not to even consider questioning the narrative.
The narrative is false. In fact, it’s not just false, it’s upside down. And it’s been false for quite some time. There are racist cops in a nation of 330 million. But 2020 America isn’t 1965 Selma.
In short, the data make clear that blacks are, indeed, overrepresented among victims of police shootings, but underrepresented relative to black overrepresentation in crime, particularly violent crime.
Some media recently ran the story that blacks are twice as likely as whites to be shot by cops. On its face, that’s true. But the statement doesn’t consider the comparable encounters with police, especially in high-risk situations, that are likely to prompt exchanges of gunfire or other forms of violence.
Consider the following, from the 2018 National Crime Victimization Survey, Census data, FBI Uniform Crime Reports, and other sources: (For extended discussion, see my dissenting statement to the 2018 U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Report: Police Use of Force: Examination of Modern Police Practices, p. 197. Unless otherwise noted, most of the data is from 2018.)
In 2016, 466 whites were killed by police; 233 blacks were killed by police.
Whites are 76.5 percent of the U.S. population (including Hispanics); blacks are 13.4 percent of the U.S. population.
Whites commit 59 percent of violent crimes (defined as murder, manslaughter, rape, robbery, aggravated assault); blacks commit 37.5 percent of violent crimes.
One out of 8,511 blacks is arrested for murder; one in 58,582 whites is arrested for murder.
Blacks are approximately 6.8 times more likely than whites to be arrested for murder.
One out of 2,800,438 blacks is arrested for killing a cop; one of 7,674,278 whites is arrested for killing a cop.
Blacks are 2.74 times more likely than whites to be arrested for killing a cop.
In 2016, 66 cops were killed in the line of duty; 32 whites and 15 blacks were identified as the killers.
More than twice as many blacks (533) murdered whites in 2016 than whites (243) murdered blacks.
Black males are 6 percent of the U.S. population. Black males are responsible for 42 percent of cop killings in the last decade.
In 2015, a cop was 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male was likely to be killed by a cop.
In 2016, 222 black males were killed by police. 16 were unarmed. 445 white males were killed by police. 20 were unarmed.
Contrary to the tweets and posts of some celebrities, blacks aren’t being “hunted” by whites. As Heather Mac Donald notes:
Between 2012 and 2015, blacks committed 85.5 percent of all black-white interracial violent victimizations (excluding interracial homicide, which is also disproportionately black-on-white). That works out to 540,360 felonious assaults on whites. Whites committed 14.4 percent of all interracial violent victimizations, or 91,470 felonious assaults on blacks.
The false narrative has devastating consequences to society. Death, destruction, and division are but a few. The aftermath to the false Michael Brown narrative is just one example. The devastation in Baltimore is another.
Riots are inevitable the next time a black person dies in police custody. People will be killed, property and livelihoods will be destroyed. The false narrative ensures that.

Trump Loved ‘His Generals’ Until He Got To Know Them
“‘We train our boys to be killing machines,’ President Trump declared on Twitter in October 2019. He meant it as a compliment—and, as Peter Bergen shows in his powerful new book, Trump and His Generals: The Cost of Chaos, Trump’s sense of military men and women as ‘killing machines’ was what drew Trump to populate his cabinet early on with generals like Michael Flynn, John Kelly, James Mattis, and H.R. McMaster.
“Yet, in some cases sooner and in some cases later, Trump soured on all of them—and they soured on Trump. (The possible exception is Flynn, but he at least soured enough to cooperate extensively with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.) So, what did Trump think he would get from these generals, and what went wrong?”
HISTORIANS WILL HAVE A FIELD DAY WORKING ON THAT.
SIMPLE ANSWER: HE WANTED 'YES' MEN AND THEY WERE NOT THAT.
POLITICO:
The Story Behind Bill Barr’s Unmarked Federal Agents
“Few sights from the nation’s protests in recent days have seemed more dystopian than the appearance of rows of heavily armed riot police around Washington, D.C., in drab military-style uniforms with no insignia, identifying emblems or names badges. Many of the apparently federal agents have refused to identify which agency they work for.
“To understand the police forces ringing Trump and the White House it helps to understand the dense and not-entirely-sensical thicket of agencies that make up the nation’s civilian federal law enforcement. With little public attention, notice and amid historically lax oversight, those ranks have surged since 9/11—growing by roughly 2,500 officers annually every year since 2000. To put it another way: Every year since the 2001 terrorist attacks, the federal government has added to its policing ranks a force larger than the entire Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).”
