Funny how this hasn't gotten any press?

Learning More About The Guy Who Plowed Into The Blue Lives Matter Demonstration

On Tuesday we learned about Isaih Cordova, the maniac who drove his SUV across a park to plow into a group of demonstrators supporting their local police force. He’s now been released on bond but faces multiple charges when his case goes to trial. Little was known about this loser initially, but local reporters have been doing some digging into his background and found some disturbing patterns. He’s a NeverTrumper, which probably won’t come as much of a surprise, but he also has a history of demonstrating contempt for the police. In other words, he seems like a classic progressive, Antifa-wannabe.

We hear a lot about people who didn't actually ram into demonstrators. Like the eastern European immigrant tank truck driver who turned onto a highway where protesters pulled him from the truck and beat him (and then falsely suggested he was flying a confederate flag and had Nazi symbols on his commercial tanker truck).

But when someone from the left actually "does" do what others on the right are accused of doing, we simply don't hear about it. But we hear about the alleged "umbrella man" who nobody can actually identify, but it's a big story because someone claims he is a Hell's angle (or right wing agitator).

The “Black Lives Matter” movement is partnered with the nonprofit group, Thousand Currents. This is important because the Vice Chair of the Thousand Currents nonprofit, is Susan Rosenberg.

Susan Rosenberg is a convicted terrorist. In 1985, Rosenberg was convicted for possessing hundreds of pounds of explosives. She and her organizations involved in multiple robberies, police officer assassinations, and bombings.

Rosenberg was sentenced to 58 years in prison. She spent 16-years in federal prison before being pardoned by Bill Clinton on his last day in office."

(CNN)The co-founder of the conservative Federalist Society said Thursday in a blistering New York Times op-ed that President Donald Trump's tweet musing about a delay to November's presidential election is grounds for impeachment.

Steven Calabresi, a Northwestern University law professor who has offered broad defenses of the President in recent years, wrote, "I am frankly appalled by the president's recent tweet seeking to postpone the November election. Until recently, I had taken as political hyperbole the Democrats' assertion that President Trump is a fascist."

"But this latest tweet is fascistic and is itself grounds for the president's immediate impeachment again by the House of Representatives and his removal from office by the Senate," he said.

Shortly before his death, John Lewis wrote this essay and asked that it be published on the day of his funeral.
I've copied and pasted it here for those who may hit a firewall.
"While my time here has now come to an end, I want you to know that in the last days and hours of my life you inspired me. You filled me with hope about the next chapter of the great American story when you used your power to make a difference in our society. Millions of people motivated simply by human compassion laid down the burdens of division. Around the country and the world you set aside race, class, age, language and nationality to demand respect for human dignity.
That is why I had to visit Black Lives Matter Plaza in Washington, though I was admitted to the hospital the following day. I just had to see and feel it for myself that, after many years of silent witness, the truth is still marching on.
Emmett Till was my George Floyd. He was my Rayshard Brooks, Sandra Bland and Breonna Taylor. He was 14 when he was killed, and I was only 15 years old at the time. I will never ever forget the moment when it became so clear that he could easily have been me. In those days, fear constrained us like an imaginary prison, and troubling thoughts of potential brutality committed for no understandable reason were the bars.
Though I was surrounded by two loving parents, plenty of brothers, sisters and cousins, their love could not protect me from the unholy oppression waiting just outside that family circle. Unchecked, unrestrained violence and government-sanctioned terror had the power to turn a simple stroll to the store for some Skittles or an innocent morning jog down a lonesome country road into a nightmare. If we are to survive as one unified nation, we must discover what so readily takes root in our hearts that could rob Mother Emanuel Church in South Carolina of her brightest and best, shoot unwitting concertgoers in Las Vegas and choke to death the hopes and dreams of a gifted violinist like Elijah McClain.
Like so many young people today, I was searching for a way out, or some might say a way in, and then I heard the voice of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on an old radio. He was talking about the philosophy and discipline of nonviolence. He said we are all complicit when we tolerate injustice. He said it is not enough to say it will get better by and by. He said each of us has a moral obligation to stand up, speak up and speak out. When you see something that is not right, you must say something. You must do something.

Democracy is not a state. It is an act, and each generation must do its part to help build what we called the Beloved Community, a nation and world society at peace with itself.
Ordinary people with extraordinary vision can redeem the soul of America by getting in what I call good trouble, necessary trouble. Voting and participating in the democratic process are key. The vote is the most powerful nonviolent change agent you have in a democratic society. You must use it because it is not guaranteed. You can lose it.
You must also study and learn the lessons of history because humanity has been involved in this soul-wrenching, existential struggle for a very long time. People on every continent have stood in your shoes, through decades and centuries before you. The truth does not change, and that is why the answers worked out long ago can help you find solutions to the challenges of our time. Continue to build union between movements stretching across the globe because we must put away our willingness to profit from the exploitation of others.
Though I may not be here with you, I urge you to answer the highest calling of your heart and stand up for what you truly believe. In my life I have done all I can to demonstrate that the way of peace, the way of love and nonviolence is the more excellent way. Now it is your turn to let freedom ring.
When historians pick up their pens to write the story of the 21st century, let them say that it was your generation who laid down the heavy burdens of hate at last and that peace finally triumphed over violence, aggression and war. So I say to you, walk with the wind, brothers and sisters, and let the spirit of peace and the power of everlasting love be your guide."

"With an umbrella in his left hand and a hammer in his right, the man in black lobbed his weapon so nonchalantly into an auto parts shop’s windows that it surprised many others in Minneapolis marching nearby in a May 27 protest over George Floyd’s death.

Soon after his abrupt attack, the mostly calm demonstration near a police precinct erupted into looting and arson – the first fire in a series of riots that eventually caused $500 million in damage and left two people dead, the Associated Press reported.

For weeks afterward, activists and Internet commenters homed in on a viral video of the figure nicknamed “Umbrella Man,” speculating that his intent was actually to turn the peaceful protests destructive.

On Tuesday, Minneapolis police confirmed those suspicions, identifying him as an affiliate of a white supremacist group that allegedly sought to “incite violence,” according to a search warrant affidavit filed in the Hennepin County District Court. The Star Tribune first reported of the warrant. The 32-year-old man has not been charged.

Trump obviously doesn’t have the power to delay the election. The Constitution gives Congress the power to fix the date of the election, and since 1845, it’s been the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. This is such an ingrained tradition that it is part of the warp and woof of American democracy.

It is a tribute to our commitment to self-government that elections have occurred as scheduled on this day during the worst crises of American history — when federal troops were in the field against rebel troops who sought to destroy the nation, when the unemployment rate was 25 percent, when U.S. forces were engaged in an epic struggle to save the West from the depredations of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan.

Trump doesn’t understand this, or doesn’t care. It is another indication of how little he’s let the institution of the presidency shape him, and how selfishly he approaches his duties.

The proximate cause of his tweet was his frequently expressed opposition to mail-in voting. We prefer in-person voting, as a matter of ballot security and civic ritual, but given concerns over any sizable gatherings of people during the pandemic, states are inevitably going to embrace more mail-in voting. This raises the prospect of an excruciating overtime after the election if it’s close because it takes so long to count mail-in ballots.

This is a legitimate concern. But it’s no reason for the sitting president of the United States to affirmatively undermine faith in an election that can, should, and indubitably will take place on its appointed day, as it has throughout the history of the world’s greatest republic.

A local television station conducted an experiment with vote-by-mail and it exposed the shortcomings of the system.

WRDW in Philadelphia sent 100 “mock ballots” from across the city to a P.O. box set up specifically for the test.

A few days later, reporter Tony Dokoupil sent 100 more. He sought to mimic the size and weight of ballot envelopes to ensure the most accurate results.

A week later, Dokoupil went to the post office to pick up the delivered ballots at the PO Box he had created for them.

At first, a worker could not find his mail. When he sought to confirm the answer, he was dismissed.

“Alright then, have a good day,” he was told curtly.

It wasn’t until he spoke to a manager and explained the experiment that he finally found what he was looking for.

“They had them somewhere else,” he was told from behind the protective glass.

Dokoupil tabulated the results:

21 percent of the votes hadn’t been delivered within the same city after four days.
Some mailed a week prior were also missing.

At the end of the experiment, only 97 percent of the ballots arrived. Three percent were missing, leading Dokoupil to declare those mock voters were “disenfranchised by mail.”

The reporter then hit the streets and couldn’t find a resident who would say a kind thing about the mail service.

“I just don’t trust the mail,” one woman said.

Another woman said she wanted to actually see her vote submitted “to see that it actually counts.”

democrats:

people who are so fucking lazy they must attempt to steal what they refuse to actually work for.

if a democrat ran this experiment he'd simply go out to his car, open the trunk, and several thousand 'vote by mail' ballots would magically and mysteriously appear.

Yes we have had a pedophile in the White House:

Jeffrey Epstein hosted Bill Clinton on his private island, documents reveal

Former President Bill Clinton was a guest at Jeffrey Epstein’s private Caribbean island, according to testimony from an Epstein accuser which was unsealed on Thursday.

Virginia Giuffre — who has also accused Epstein’s alleged madam Ghislaine Maxwell of abusing her — told lawyers in 2011 that Clinton visited Epstein’s private Little St. James Island with Maxwell, herself and “two young girls” from New York.

She added that Clinton stayed in Epstein’s private residence on the island, where “orgies were a constant thing that took place.”

Giuffre recalled being surprised to see the former president on the island.

You know that if Clinton was a Republican this would have been the bombshell that would dominate the news cycle instead of a tweet from the president.

A little-known science fiction book penned by the late father of US Attorney General William Barr is being sold online at astronomical prices by sellers eager to attract Jeffrey Epstein conspiracy theorists.

“Space Relations: A Slightly Gothic Interplanetary Tale” by Donald Barr has been thrust into the spotlight in the wake of the convicted pedophile’s apparent suicide, and eBay sellers — quick to link the two men — are now hawking it for as much as $4,999, Vice’s Motherboard reported.

[...]

Donald Barr and Epstein are loosely linked by their time working at the elite Dalton School in Manhattan. Donald served as headmaster there from 1964 to 1974, while Epstein began teaching math and science there three months after Donald left.

It’s unclear, however, if Donald Barr was involved at all with Epstein’s employment, which only lasted two years.

The possibly next VP/President of the United States:

“If we use the word ‘genocide’ and are seen as doing nothing, what will be the effect on the November [congressional] election?” — Susan Rice, on the National Security Council, regarding Rwanda, April 1994.

Two: After leaving the Clinton administration, Rice became managing director at Intellibridge, a strategic-analysis firm in Washington, D.C. One of her clients was Paul Kagame, the president of Rwanda.

During Clinton’s trip to Africa in 1998, after Jesse Jackson offered what The NY Times called "an unusually Afrocentric view of American history,” Rice responded, “As an African-American, I would like to say that I think slavery is largely irrelevant to what we are about here.”

In 1998, Rice became one of the Clinton administration’s preeminent defenders of the airstrike against the Al-Shifa pharmaceutical factory in Khartoum, Sudan. Years later, US officials concluded the plant had no nerve gas or ties to OBL.

n 2003, Rice told the New York Times that former ambassador Joseph Wilson — a registered Democrat who was publicly supporting John Kerry’s presidential bid “played it down the middle of the road politically.”

In 2006, at an event at the Brookings Institution, Rice argued that the Bush administration had been too reluctant to use military force against the Sudanese government, calling for airstrikes and a naval blockade.

On February 2008, working for the Obama campaign, Rice insisted “there had been no contact” between Obama adviser Austan Goolsbee and representatives of the Canadian government. There in fact had been a meeting.

On May 12, 2008, she told the New York Times that Obama had not pledged to meet unconditionally with Iran or any other “rogue” state, despite the candidate pledging to do that, with the whole world watching, at the YouTube debate.

Trump maneuvers to protect Robert E. Lee's name in secretly recorded phone call
HuffPost
Jul 31st 2020 7:50AM

President Donald Trump dismissed the “bullshit”
of the effects of cancel culture as he negotiated with a senator to preserve the name of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee at military installations, according to a recording of a phone conversation given to The New York Times.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) put Trump on speakerphone at an Italian restaurant in Washington, D.C., as the men talked politics Wednesday night. The conversation was overheard and recorded by “someone in the room,” the Times reported Thursday.

“All right, my friend,” said Trump. “Are you doing good? We’re going to keep the name of Robert E. Lee?”

Inhofe responded on the tape: “Just trust me. I’ll make it happen.”

Trump piped up: “I had about 95,000 positive retweets on that. That’s a lot.”

Trump seemed to be referring to his tweet last week that Inhofe had promised he wouldn’t change the names of “Military Bases and Forts” and was “not a believer in ‘Cancel Culture’.”

Trump has threatened to veto the Senate’s Defense Authorization Act that overwhelmingly passed last week and would change military base names that honor Confederates. The 86-14 vote margin could easily override a presidential veto. Trump’s conversation with Inhofe appeared to be a push to protect a veto.

The president seemingly veered into another complaint about so-called cancel culture, in which support for a person is withdrawn over offensive actions or statements. A “lot of people want to be able to go back to life — not this bullshit,” he added.

In the recording of his call with the senator, the president also discussed Inhofe’s sudden cancellation of a confirmation hearing for retired Gen. Anthony Tata, Trump’s pick for a top Pentagon policy post. The move followed deepening concerns from both Democrats and Republicans about Tata’s history of inflammatory tweets in which he called former President Barack Obama a “terrorist leader” and attacked Islam.

Earlier in the conversation, Inhofe, chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee, referred to holding up Tata’s confirmation.

Inhofe had said in a statement that Democrats and Republicans don’t yet “know enough” about Tata and hadn’t received required documentation.

On the recorded portion of the phone call, the men mentioned the possibility of someone “resigning” and being given another appointment.

Inhofe has not commented on the recording.

FROM WIKIPEDIA
THIS IS WHAT RAT CALLS "LYING THROUGH HER TEETH"

2012 Benghazi attack

On September 11, 2012, a U.S. diplomatic facility and CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya was attacked, resulting in the deaths of the United States ambassador to Libya J. Christopher Stevens, U.S. Foreign Service information management officer Sean Smith, and two former Navy SEALS, Glen Doherty and Tyrone S. Woods.
On September 16, Rice appeared on five major interview shows to discuss the attacks. Prior to her appearance, Rice was provided with "talking points" from a CIA memo, which stated:

The currently available information suggests that the demonstrations in Benghazi were spontaneously inspired by the protests at the U.S. embassy in Cairo and evolved into a direct assault against the U.S. diplomatic post and subsequently its annex. There are indications that extremists participated in the violent demonstrations.

This assessment may change as additional information is collected and analyzed and as currently available information continues to be evaluated.

The investigation is ongoing, and the U.S. government is working w/ Libyan authorities to help bring to justice those responsible for the deaths of U.S. citizens.

Each of the eleven drafts of CIA talking points maintained that the attack was "spontaneously inspired" by a violent protest at the American embassy in Cairo, Egypt hours earlier, which had been triggered by the release of an anti-Muslim video. Using these talking points as a guide, Rice stated on Face the Nation:

"Based on the best information we have to date, what our assessment is as of the present is in fact what began spontaneously in Benghazi as a reaction to what had transpired some hours earlier in Cairo where, of course, as you know, there was a violent protest outside of our embassy—sparked by this hateful video. But soon after that spontaneous protest began outside of our consulate in Benghazi, we believe that it looks like extremist elements, individuals, joined in that—in that effort with heavy weapons of the sort that are, unfortunately, readily now available in Libya post-revolution. And that it spun from there into something much, much more violent. We do not—we do not have information at present that leads us to conclude that this was premeditated or preplanned. I think it's clear that there were extremist elements that joined in and escalated the violence.... Whether they were al Qaeda affiliates, whether they were Libyan-based extremists or al Qaeda itself I think is one of the things we'll have to determine."

Since Rice's five television appearances, there have been persistent accusations that she had intentionally misled the public. However, NONE of the ten Benghazi investigations conducted by Congress determined she had. The Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee's two-year investigation did not conclude that Rice or any other government official acted in bad faith or intentionally misled the American people.

According to the Associated Press,
"In the immediate aftermath of the attack, intelligence about who carried it out and why was contradictory, the report found. That led Susan Rice, then U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, to inaccurately assert that the attack had evolved from a protest, when in fact there had been no protest."
___________

Sorry, Rat. She was not "lying through her teeth."
No, it's you who, as usual, are lying through your teeth.

doing something so despicable requires a depth or depravity and downright evil that is difficult to imagine, as it is THAT fucking disgusting.

oh and btw, cankles herself testified to the fact that it was a lie during the benghazi hearing when she told those in attendance that she had, at the time, told her daughter chelsea what actually happened.

but hey, what difference, at this point, does it make?

cankles losing to Trump was karma that was most deserved.

rice's time will come. and with any luck the pain and suffering will be massive and extremely long in duration.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its school safety guidelines in a major push for in-person instruction that has teachers unions calling the change a political move spearheaded by the Trump administration that ultimately puts lives at risk.

The new guidelines stress for face-to-face instruction in communities not considered COVID-19 hotspots, which CDC Director Robert Redfield described in a Friday telebriefing as areas where the COVID-19 test positivity rate is greater than five percent. Texas' current positivity rate is hovering at around 13 percent.

“It is critically important for our public health to open schools this fall,” Redfield said. "I know this has been a difficult time for our nation’s families. School closures have disrupted normal ways of life for children and parents, and they have had negative health consequences on our youth. CDC is prepared to work with K-12 schools to safely reopen while protecting the most vulnerable.”

Susan Rice, the vice presidential contender with a high-profile history of questionable public statements, has another dubious claim in her past that until now has escaped scrutiny. Rice swore under oath that as President Obama’s national security adviser she was never told about the FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation. But former FBI Director James Comey testified that Rice was present when he informed Obama all about Crossfire Hurricane just weeks after the investigation was launched.

The contradiction could lead to charges that Rice lied to Congress about a topic still of intense interest to investigators: How actively involved in the effort to spy on the Trump campaign was the inner circle of the Obama White House, including the president himself? More immediately, the question of whether Rice told the truth on Capitol Hill might damage her bid to join Joe Biden on the Democratic presidential ticket.

Rice earned a reputation for shading the truth after the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. She was famously dispatched to five different Sunday morning news shows to repeat false talking points: that the mob that killed four Americans – including Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens – was merely reacting to an obscure YouTube video mocking Islam.

Questions about her forthrightness were redoubled when Senate investigators found that, in the waning minutes of the Obama administration, Rice wrote a curious “memo to the file.” She sent an email to herself on the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration, and in it claimed that Obama had insisted that everything to do with Russia, whether law enforcement or counterintelligence, be done “by the book.”

By Eugene Robinson

On Wednesday, Trump tweeted what may be the most nakedly racist appeal to White voters that I’ve seen since the days of segregationist state leaders such as Alabama’s George Wallace and Georgia’s Lester Maddox:

“I am happy to inform all of the people living their Suburban Lifestyle Dream that you will no longer be bothered or financially hurt by having low income housing built in your neighborhood. . . . Your housing prices will go up based on the market, and crime will go down. I have rescinded the Obama-Biden AFFH Rule. Enjoy!”

Many people probably don’t know what the “Obama-Biden AFFH Rule” is, but its roots are in the 1968 Fair Housing Act, specifically its Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing provision. That section of the law required federal agencies that deal with housing and banking to pursue their missions in a way that would actively desegregate housing. In 2015, the Obama administration spelled out how communities should measure their progress, or lack thereof, in eliminating housing bias, and tied federal funding for housing and urban development to those measurements.

Trump’s tweet is a promise not to actively enforce that provision. And it’s a message to White people they can go ahead and do whatever they feel is necessary to keep Black people and Latinos from moving into their neighborhoods.

Look at how he delivers that message. He uses the words, and assumes the context, of the era when the Fair Housing Act was passed — a time of “white flight” from the inner cities to the suburbs. He uses “low income housing” as not-so-coded language for “housing occupied by people of color,” and his meaning is clear. White Americans, your property values would suffer if an African American or Latino family were to move in next door. There would be more crime, because, well, you know how those people are. But don’t worry. Barack Obama wanted to make you let them in, but I’ll keep them out.

At a moment when the Black Lives Matter protests have sparked a debate on how to eradicate systemic racism, Trump vows to keep it alive.

This attack on desegregation should come as no surprise. Trump’s first appearance in the public eye came in 1973, when he, his father and their real estate company were sued by the Justice Department for refusing to rent apartments to African Americans. Rather than quietly reach a settlement, as other developers had done, the Trumps filed a ridiculous $100 million countersuit and accused the federal government of forcing them to accept “welfare recipients” as tenants. In the end, the Trumps agreed to a consent decree in which they promised to stop discriminating against minorities without admitting they had been doing so.

This racist mind-set about housing is fully in keeping with the tenor of his inflame-the-base reelection campaign, in which he has demonized racial-justice protesters as “anarchists” and “agitators” while cheering, for example, the White couple in St. Louis who pointed guns at demonstrators marching past.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Trump’s reflexively racist views might not have changed over the years. But the nation has.

For one thing, the suburbs are far from lily-white. According to studies by the Brookings Institution, the racial demographics of America’s suburbs now roughly mirror those of the nation as a whole. In some metropolitan areas, more African Americans, Latinos and Asian Americans are “living their Suburban Lifestyle Dream” (as Trump put it) than are living in the core cities.

At the same time, however, patterns of racial segregation in housing persist, including in many suburbs. Segregation in housing leads to segregation in schools, which helps perpetuate structural disparities. The fact that a given house in a White suburban neighborhood tends to be assessed at a higher value than an identical house in a comparable African American neighborhood helps maintain the massive wealth gap between Black and White people. A serious federal effort to “affirmatively” reduce segregation would help lessen inequality.

Most Americans see this as a moment of racial reckoning, according to polls. Trump has also fallen behind with suburban voters, who have become a key electoral bellwether. In response, Trump promises his followers a return to the racial caste system that stratified the nation before the civil rights movement.

At least the president is up front about all of this. The Republican Party cannot pretend there is anything at work here other than old-fashioned racism. Those who support Trump’s reelection must also support, and cheer, his adamant refusal to enforce a landmark piece of civil rights legislation. Enjoy!

Nearly two-thirds of Americans disapprove of President Donald Trump's handling of three major challenges facing the country -- the coronavirus pandemic, nationwide unrest over racial inequality and relations with Russia -- in a new ABC News/Ipsos poll, a sign of the obstacles that his reelection bid faces just three months before Election Day.

With the White House confronting the most significant reckoning on race since the civil rights movement of the 1960s, the worst public health crisis in a century, and a hostile Russia reminiscent of the Cold War, Americans have little confidence in the job Trump is doing in all three of these major areas.

Trump closes out the month of July the way it began, with his approval on the coronavirus in the low 30s. His approval sits at 34%, right about where it was earlier this month (33%) when it reached a new low since ABC News/Ipsos began surveying on the virus in March.

The Florida victory!

A leading Florida newspaper pleaded in an editorial for more action by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) to battle COVID-19, reminding him: “We’re dying here.”
“With each passing day, COVID-19 continues to careen out of control in Florida,” said the Thursday editorial in the Sun Sentinel. “Your daily upbeat message is hopelessly at odds with what Floridians are going through. You make it sound like everything is headed in the right direction. But it’s not.”
Florida hit a record number of deaths from COVID-19 three days running this week, climbing from 191 deaths on Tuesday to the latest record of 253 deaths on Thursday. The state surpassed New York’s total number of cases last Saturday.

That’s why Republicans have engaged in blatant voter suppression tactics. They plan to employ 50,000 people at the polls—some of whom will be armed—to intimidate Democratic voters across critical battleground states, especially voters of color. The GOP also intends to spend at least $20 million on nefarious lawsuits designed to suppress the vote this fall. This is a stark and disturbing escalation in the GOP's voter suppression tactics. Our democracy simply will not survive if GOP operatives and right-wing activists get away with this.

That was the whole point. White suburbanites weren't the only ones who benefited from Trumps repeal of Obama's executive order. Suburbanites of all races benefitted.

The only people who found racism in Trump's order are the people looking for racism. They are the same people who look for racism in a box of crackerjacks or a box of pancake mix.
