Here is the real question for liberals...

So there is no question that Joe Biden has a history of racist remarks and other questionable actions. He was close friends with many segregationists in the Senate including Strom Thurman and Jesse Helms. He worked on legislation that opposed school bussing to desegregate with these and other Senators. Early in his career, Biden was close to several Senators that quite literally opposed and voted against the civil rights amendment. He called many of them his friends, and even mentors.

Joe Biden has a racist past

There are old clips of Biden saying horribly racist things, including various uses of the term "negro" and even the other "n-word". As a Senator suggested that he didn't want his kids growing up in a "racial jungle" as a reason to oppose bussing.  Even in more recent times, Biden has shown a capacity to say stupid and racist things, including making disparaging remarks about Obama being a "clean, articulate" black man. His very recent "you ain't black" comments enraged many blacks and black leaders. He's a man with a questionable past when it comes to race.

Oh, and let's not get started on the manner in which he has treated women.

Meanwhile, liberals are out in droves trying to pull down everything and anything that closely resembles anyone who might remind people of a more racist past. Slaveholders, segregationists, anyone associated with the Confederacy of the south is under attack, and most liberals would like to remove them from the history books.

So with all of this "clean up the past" and get rid of everything and anyone that reminds anyone that there was outgoing racism in this county, how is it that Democrats will stand in unison behind a man who quite literally has personal experience being racist, making racist remarks, and closely associating himself with politicians who literally opposed civil rights.

Let's be clear. If there is no pass for great American leaders like Washington and Jefferson because they lived in a time when slavery was normal, there can certainly be no pass for an average Senator who choose to align himself with people who were running outside the mainstream in their own opposition to desegregation, civil rights, and such. There should be no pass for someone still saying racially insensitive things over the past few years.

If Democrats "really" want to be taken seriously about purging anything associated with past racism from our society, then they should start with their own Democratic candidate for President. That would provide those who believe this is just a stunt that has no real basis in any so called deeper convictions a reason to believe differently.

Of course, as we have all learned.... Hypocrisy is the bedrock of liberalism.

Of course to be true to their actions democrats would need to get rid of their actual party.

Racist to the core.

honestly, this is hardly newsworthy.

it should be, but it's not. democrats have always gotten a pass on their virulent racism as they've done a helluva job projecting it onto the right.

when a fucking klan grand kleagle is celebrated by the left without shame or consequence, you know that democrats have completely gotten away with this.

Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, has a history of speech and actions that have been widely viewed as racist or racially charged. Journalists, friends, and former employees have accused him of fueling racism in the United States[1][2][3][4] and some scholars have placed Trump's rhetoric and performance in the context of[clarification needed] white supremacy.[5][6][7][8] Trump has repeatedly denied accusations of racism,[9][10] and some people who have known him have gone on record to state that he is not racist.[1][11][12]

In 1973, Trump and his company Trump Management were sued by the Department of Justice for housing discrimination against African-American renters; he settled the suit, entering into a consent decree to end the practices without admitting wrongdoing.[13][14][15] The Justice Department sued again in 1978, claiming continued racial discrimination in violation of the consent decree, but that settlement agreement expired in 1982, ending the case.[16]

From 2011 to 2016, Trump was a leading proponent of the already-debunked "Birtherism" conspiracy theory claiming president Barack Obama was not born in the United States.[17][18] In a racially charged criminal case, Trump continued to insist, as late as 2019,[19][20] that a group of black and Latino teenagers were guilty of the 1989 rape of a white woman in the Central Park jogger case, despite the five males having been officially exonerated in 2002, based on a confession by an imprisoned serial rapist that was confirmed by DNA evidence.[21][22][23]

Trump launched his 2016 presidential campaign with a speech in which he spoke about Mexican immigrants: "They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."[24][25] He said that a judge with "Mexican heritage" should be disqualified from deciding cases against him. He retweeted false statistics claiming that African Americans are responsible for the majority of murders of white Americans, and in some speeches he has repeatedly linked African Americans and Hispanics with violent crime.[26][27] During the campaign, Trump used the fears of the white working class voters, and created the impression of global danger of groups that are deemed to pose a challenge to the nation.[5]

Trump made comments following a 2017 white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, that were seen by critics as implying moral equivalence between the white supremacist marchers and those who protested against them. Some interpreted his remarks as sympathetic to white supremacy[28] despite the fact Trump said white nationalists should be "condemned totally".[28][29] In 2018, during an Oval Office meeting about immigration reform, Trump allegedly referred to El Salvador, Haiti, and African countries as "shitholes", which was widely condemned as a racist comment.[30][31][32] In July 2019, Trump tweeted about Democratic congresswomen of color: "Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done."[33] News outlets such as The Atlantic criticized this comment as a common racist trope.[34] He later denied his comments were racist, saying "if somebody has a problem with our country, If somebody doesn't want to be in our country, they should leave."[35]

Trump's controversial statements have been condemned by many observers around the world,[14][36][37] but excused by some of his supporters as a rejection of political correctness[38][39] and by others because they harbor similar racial sentiments.[40][41] Several studies and surveys have stated that racist attitudes and racial resentment have fueled Trump's political ascendance, and have become more significant than economic factors in determining the party allegiance of U.S. voters.[41][42] Racist and islamophobic attitudes have been shown to be a powerful indicator of support for Trump.[43]

Here's the thing. Everybody who makes the accusation cannot come up with one credible example.

At best all they can do is twist or re-interpret his statements.

When it comes to Donald Trump and race, you have no credibility.

Here is a real question for conservatives.

Are you aware that even Lincoln said some things about blacks that today would be regarded as politically incorrect?

He said he was firmly opposed to interracial marriage.*
He said that blacks were not his equal "in color."*
He was committed to helping blacks return to Africa where he said they would be happier.**
__________
*Statements like those he had to make because Stephen A. Douglas in debates was accusing Lincoln of being a "n. lover" who supported interracial marriage. No one could have been elected to Congress in those days while holding a position of absolute racial equality.

**After becoming President, Lincoln was once visited by a delegation of black leaders who made it clear to him that they regarded America as their home, for which they had suffered much, and that they had no intention of returning to Africa. Lincoln saw their point and totally withdrew his suggestion that they be repatriated.

The black leader Fredrick Douglass met with Lincoln several times during his presidency and stated that Lincoln was the only white man ever to speak with him on a level of equality.

92 Percent of Black Americans Support Biden Over Trump, Poll Says

Former vice president and presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden has the overwhelming lead in the 2020 presidential campaign among Black Americans, according to a new poll.

A new Washington Post-Ipsos poll found that 92 percent of Black registered voters support Biden over President Donald Trump....

Black Americans ranked police conduct and racism as the key issues when it comes to choosing a candidate for president.

Ninety-four percent of Black Americans think the country needs to continue making changes that give Black Americans equal rights with white Americans.

Of the sample size, 92 percent cite electing local leaders who care about the issue as the most effective method of improving police treatment, followed by people recording interactions with the police.

The majority said they disapproved of both Trump's overall presidency and his response to the death of George Floyd. Nearly 90 percent think Trump is biased against Black people.

Earlier this month, Trump said his administration "has done more for the black community than any president since Abraham Lincoln," but 86 percent said Trump has done "nothing" to reduce discrimination among Black Americans in the criminal justice system.

The poll found that 65 percent Black Americans are hopeful Biden would be able to tackle this issue if elected in the fall, a number even higher than the 59 percent who said former President Barack Obama reduced discrimination during his two terms.

WOW.
