Are people really this stupid?

Never has a virus been so oversold
In a recent Kekst CNC poll, British respondents estimated that nearly 7 percent of the UK population has died from the coronavirus. That would be 4.5 million people. Scots supposed that more than 10 percent of the UK population has died. That would be seven million people.
Astonishingly, Americans believed that COVID has killed nine percent of their compatriots, or almost 30 million people! The real US total has indeed crossed the milestone of 150,000, but for pity’s sake, ‘only’ 20 million people died in World War One.

Well the reality is that Covid has killed about 0.046% of the population. The American public is only overestimating the virus by a factor of about 200. But hey, how else can you explain the manner in which Americans are willing to give up every freedom that they have in order to combat a disease that has not medically affected most Americans at all. Statistically only a small percentage of Americans actually know someone who passed from Covid, and most of those would be parents or grand parents and other elderly folks whose deaths are not quite as shocking as when someone is struck down in the prime of their lives.

We are at approximately 3000 deaths of Americans under the age of 45. Think about that. It adds up to about 60 people per state (on average). That's barely the murder rate of Chicago on a bad weekend! But while our country is collectively arguing that we should cut our police departments in response to all of those shooting deaths, we are also demanding people hide away in their houses, not go to church, and only leave the house with vast amounts of medical equipment because of a virus that appears far less dangerous to the average American than crime and guns are.

Just goes to show how politics is capable of ruining the minds of an average American. Either they have no concept of how many people have really died, they don't understand basic percentages, or they are following their political bend over any logical mathematical arguments. Is it crazy to suggest that we are doing more to react to the unreasonable hype of the disease rather than the reality of the disease? Because we seem to reacting much closer to a virus killing 9% of the population, rather than 0.046%.

Democrats’ Noisy Strategy to Stop Russian Interference
August 8, 2020 at 11:45 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

Politico:
“Congressional Democrats — stung by the Obama administration’s soft-pedaled approach to Russian election interference in 2016 — have a plan to prevent a repeat under President Trump: make as much noise as possible, early and often.

“For weeks, top Democratic lawmakers in the House and Senate have been blaring warnings and demanding briefings and public disclosures from the intelligence community, shrugging off Republican charges that they’re politicizing intelligence.

“And Democrats can now point to evidence that their pressure campaign might be working. On Friday, the Trump administration’s counterintelligence chief publicly confirmed that Russia is attempting to harm Joe Biden’s candidacy in 2020. The official, William Evanina, even singled out a pro-Russia Ukrainian, Andrii Derkach, as a key participant in the Kremlin’s new effort.”

The Russians want your boy Trump to WIN.
He's just SO malleable.

Traitors!

You are pathetic

The distrust and open dismissal of expertise and authority may seem uniquely contemporary — a phenomenon of the Trump era, or the rise of online misinformation. But the president and his party are the products of a decades-long war against the functioning of good government, a collapse of trust in experts and empiricism, and the spread of a kind of magical thinking that flourishes in a hothouse atmosphere that can seal out reality. While it’s not exactly shocking to see a Republican administration be destroyed by incompetent management — it happened to the last one, after all — the willfulness of it is still mind-boggling and has led to the unnecessary sickness and death of hundreds of thousands of people and the torpedoing of the reelection prospects of the president himself. Like Stalin’s purge of 30,000 Red Army members right before World War II, the central government has perversely chosen to disable the very asset that was intended to carry it through the crisis. Only this failure of leadership and management took place in a supposedly advanced democracy whose leadership succumbed to a debilitating and ultimately deadly ideological pathology.

Hypocrite Trump Will Make Order That Already Exists
--T. Goddard

“President Trump announced on Friday he will pursue an executive order requiring insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions, something that is already law,” Axios reports.

“The Affordable Care Act already requires insurers to cover pre-existing conditions. The Trump administration is currently arguing in a case before the Supreme Court to strike down that very law — including its pre-existing condition protections.”

I knew people like this growing up in South Dakota.

My dad was a Republican because of Dwight D. Eisenhower who was true to the origins of the Republican party and followed in the footsteps of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt. Eisenhower was concerned about the industrial-military complex, and his economic policies bolstered the middle class. He continued New Deal agencies and strengthened Social Security. We can learn a lot from Eisenhower and those Republicans who, like my dad, were concerned about military spending and the general welfare of Americans.

@GovLauraKelly, you are going to pay the price for this.
...
Here is the doctored graph @KDHE @SecNorman created comparing Mask Counties vs. No Mask Counties where he purposefully misled by laying the No Mask line above the Mask line when in fact the No Mask Counties have a **LOWER** Covid incidence.

Can you see the trick he pulled?

Here's the real graph with both plotted on the same scale.

Tricky @SecNorman's doctored graph uses separate Y-axes to make No Mask look worse than Mask.

He even lied when he said No Mask could drop lower than Mask if they just wear masks. No Masks ALREADY ARE LOWER than Masks!

Homeless men are seen sharing swigs of liquor without masks and urinating on the street outside luxury Upper West Side hotels - as it's revealed New York 'illegally housed pedophiles next to playgrounds' in the neighborhood

Group of homeless men again congregated Friday near UWS hotels where city is paying to house them

They were seen sharing bottles of liquor and urinating in public, before police eventually broke it up

Residents have raised safety concerns about Mayor de Blasio's scheme after shocking lewd displays

Records show that at least six convicted pedophiles were housed near an elementary school playground

City denies that they are currently housed in that hotel but refused to say if they had been previously

The city is paying $175 per person per night to house people to avoid COVID-19 outbreaks in shelters

Hotels Belleclaire, Lucerne and Belnord in the UWS are three of 139 hotels being used as homeless shelters

It's unclear how long they will be kept there; none of the hotels are accepting paying guests currently

Upper West Side residents say they are terrorizing the neighborhood with drugs and crime

They voted for this, give it to them good and hard

Once again the source for the coward is ofRIGHT BIAS POS that has no fucking credibility.....BWAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage conservative causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Right Bias sources.

Factual Reporting: MIXED

Notes: Founded on January 30, 2017, Sentinel KSMO or The Sentinel is a conservative news website primarily focused on Kansas and Western Missouri. The Sentinel’s Editor and president is Jack Cashill and according to an editorial, The Sentinel has a relationship with the Kansas Policy Institute. According to Source watch, “Kansas Policy Institute (KPI) is a free market think tank, one of many listed as members of the State Policy Network (SPN)”. Both KPI and SPN are members of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).” Further, Dave Trabert who is President of Kansas Policy Institute, is also a Board Member, Secretary/Treasurer for the Sentinel.

In review, The Sentinel uses emotional headlines, such as: “Saudi Billionaire Busted for Corruption Helped Obama Get Into Harvard.” Although they generally source to credible media they usually spin their stories to favor the right. Some stories are also sourced to factually mixed sources such as ALEC or not sourced at all with hyperlinks. Overall, we rate Sentinel KSMO Right Biased based on story selection and Mixed for factual reporting based on poor sourcing. (M. Huitsing 11/14/2017)
