Random thoughts:
- Well I guess that is what Harris gets for calling dementia Joe a racist and an abuser of women. Of course with dementia Joe, he probably already forgot about it. Literally.
- Perhaps Trump could dump Pence for Tulsi Gabbard, so we could all witness for Gabbard taking Harris to the woodshed for a full 60 minutes in the Vice Presidential debates! Talk about cruel and unusual punishment!
- Meanwhile Stacey Abrams has announced that she is the legitimate winner of the Vice Presidential sweepstakes, but will not get the position due to racist gerrymandering and voter disenfranchisement.
- Joe Biden in email to supporters: "I’ve decided that Kamala Harris is the best person to help me take this fight to Donald Trump and Mike Pence and then to lead this nation starting in January 2021." So Joe admits that it won't be him leading the nation in January?

Harris: 'I believe' Biden accusers
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) said Tuesday that she believes women who say they felt uncomfortable after receiving unwanted touching from former Vice President Joe Biden.
"I believe them and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it," Harris said at a presidential campaign event in Nevada.
The California senator added that Biden will need to decide for himself whether to run for president.
"He's going to have to make that decision for himself. I wouldn’t tell him what to do," Harris said.
In recent days, several women have come forward to allege that Biden has touched them inappropriately.
Former Nevada state lawmaker Lucy Flores, a Democrat, made the first accusation last week in an essay in New York magazine's The Cut. On Monday, Amy Lappos told the Hartford Courant that Biden also touched her inappropriately at a 2009 fundraiser in Connecticut.
Two additional women, Caitlyn Caruso and D. J. Hill, came forward Tuesday, sharing their experiences with The New York Times.
Biden, who is considering running for president and has led a number of polls of Democrats, has not commented publicly on the accusations since Sunday, when in response to Flores's allegation he said in a statement that he has "offered countless handshakes, hugs, expressions of affection, support and comfort."

Unlike Trump, Biden does not hold grudges. He knows that someone's competency is more important than any little criticisms that may take emerge in a campaign. He puts the good of the country ahead of matters like that, and so he went with the one he believes is most capable and ready, and will be a valuable partner in the work.

WHY KAMALA HARRIS WON THE VP CONTEST
by David Axelrod,
CNN Senior Political Commentator
It is a measure of these extraordinary times that Joe Biden's historic choice for vice president was also the most conventional.
In choosing Kamala Harris, Biden selected the candidate who had been the frontrunner among political handicappers and betting markets for months. The senator from California fulfills Biden's pledge to name a woman and responds to the expectation that he would pick the first woman of color ever to serve on a national ticket.
Pressure to make such a choice has been building since the killing of George Floyd under the knee of a Minneapolis police officer triggered nationwide protests over racial inequity. And beyond the historic nature of Harris' selection, many supporters argued that the presence of a person of color on the ticket was necessary to motivate Black voters. Tepid turnout by Black voters in 2016 helped doom Hillary Clinton in her race against Donald Trump.
Harris is a charismatic and telegenic politician. And as a US senator and recent presidential candidate, Harris also meets another important test for Biden. People familiar with research the campaign undertook to inform its decision told me voters viewed her as among the most qualified to be president on Day One -- a key positive, given Biden's status as potentially the oldest politician to ever serve as president.
She is also familiar with the maelstrom of a national campaign, having spent a year running for president, albeit unsuccessfully. Though she was at times less than sure-footed in dealing with incoming criticism from the media and opponents, she understands the pace and nature of it, which will only intensify in a fall race against Trump.
One of the principal tasks of a running mate is to play a lead role in bringing the case against the other ticket, particularly in the vice-presidential debate.
A former prosecutor, Harris is known as a fierce interrogator on Capitol Hill and proved herself, at times, to be a sharp-edged debater during the campaign. Biden knows this well. He famously was her target in the first primary debate 14 months ago, when she theatrically confronted him over his position on mandatory school busing in the 1970s.
That exchange, in which Harris played up her own experience as a child who benefited from busing, briefly vaulted her to the top echelon of candidates in polling. It also was a source of friction with Biden and his family that could have upended his choice.
Axelrod continues--
In the end, Biden seriously considered others but returned to Harris as the "do no harm" candidate, unlikely to thrill or outrage many. She may not seem the most comfortable fit as a governing partner, a quality Biden said he was seeking, but Harris was viewed as the safest pick to win in November.
By naming her, Biden likely also has set the dynamics for the 2024 election, not just the current one. The former Vice President has not said he would stand down after one term, though given the fact that he would be 81 by the next election, it is widely assumed he would not run.
This also will place Harris in not only an historic but a historically challenging position if the Biden-Harris ticket wins. She immediately would be installed as heir apparent and putative frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination four years from now.
That means she would become an immediate target for Republicans seeking to inflict political damage on the standard bearer they may face on the ballot in 2024. It also would challenge her to balance the roles of loyal and supportive vice president and candidate-in-waiting. Balancing these pressures would be a challenge for anyone who assumed the number two spot under these unique circumstances, but perhaps even more so for Harris, 55, who already has sought the presidency and is presumed to still harbor that goal.
AXELROD THEN DISCUSSES THE OTHER CANDIDATES, AND AFTERWARD RETURNS TO DISCUSSING HARRIS:
Harris has been publicly vetted, at least partially, through her race for the White House. And while Biden may have questions about how she would operate as vice president, he also knows that it will be a moot point if he isn't elected.
In making his choice, Biden signaled that he is focused like a laser on November, and he views Harris as the best bet to win.

WOKE ENOUGH FOR BLM? Kamala Harris is a descendant of a slave owner
OK, who will he pick next ?
Biden chooses her despite during the campaign, she was tough on him. David Axelrod said this
A former prosecutor, Harris is known as a fierce interrogator on Capitol Hill and proved herself, at times, to be a sharp-edged debater during the campaign. Biden knows this well. He famously was her target in the first primary debate 14 months ago, when she theatrically confronted him over his position on mandatory school busing in the 1970s.
It going to make it impossible for the President to call him out for his vote on mandatory busing in the late 70s.
However, we have been unable to verify that a line of descent exists between the modern-day Harris family and the 19th-century slave owner. As such, the claim that an ancestor of Sen. Harris owned slaves in Jamaica remains unproven. If evidence emerges that verifies that line of descent, we will update this fact check accordingly.

Harris Is a Tough Target for the Trump Campaign
August 11, 2020 at 7:22 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard
NBC News:
“Harris was difficult to pin down ideologically in the Democratic presidential primary, which left many voters wondering what she stood for and hurt her candidacy and ultimately forced an early exit last December before the first votes were cast.
“But it also now makes her a more complicated target of attacks by Trump, who has also struggled to land a punch on Biden:
During the Democratic primary, Harris was a rare candidate who polled near the front of the pack but never earned a derisive nickname from the president.”
One problem with calling Harris a moderate, which the news media is already doing, is that she's from California. They don't elect moderates in California.
I am coming to you today with some big news: I’m honored to join Joe Biden in the fight for the soul of our country as the Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee. Joe is a leader who can unify the American people, because he's spent his life fighting for the American people. And as president, he will build an America that lives up to our ideals.
My mom and dad, like so many other immigrants, came to this country for an education. My mother from India and my dad from Jamaica. And the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s brought them together. Some of my earliest memories are from that time: My parents being attacked by police with hoses, fleeing for safety, with me strapped tightly in my stroller.
That spirit of activism is why my mother, Shyamala, would always tell my sister and me, “Don’t just sit around and complain about things. Do something.”
That’s why I became a District Attorney and fought to fix a broken system from within. Why I served as California’s Attorney General. Why I’m proud to represent my state as a U.S. Senator. And it’s why, today, I’m humbled to be joining Joe Biden in the battle to defeat Donald Trump and build a country that lives up to our values of truth, equality, and justice.
I know that winning this race will be tougher than anything I’ve faced before, but I’ve never been more ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work. Donald Trump thinks this country belongs to him. But Joe Biden knows it belongs to all of us. To the people.
And together, the people are going to take it back.
Biden Taps Kamala
Mollie Hemingway writes in The Federalist,
I didn’t fall for the Russia hoax that CNN and other media outlets did because I worked hard at understanding the appeal of his candidacy even before the Russia narrative started. At the same time, I recognized how disruptive he was to the established order and the livelihoods of those who had grown comfortable in D.C. Unlike many reporters, I knew and loved many people who voted for Trump. My background as a media critic made me aware of information campaigns and how to resist them. My dislike of the interventionist foreign policy made me less susceptible to scaremongering about realist foreign policy.
This is the language not of journalism in search of truth but of a cult.
Trump donated — twice — to Kamala Harris' campaign for California attorney general
6:30 p.m.
President Trump's campaign may be calling her "Phony Kamala" now, but Trump once liked Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) enough to twice donate to her re-election campaign for California attorney general.
The Sacramento Bee first reported the donations in 2019, but they are receiving renewed interest now that former Vice President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, has chosen Harris to be his running mate.
Before she became a senator, Harris was attorney general of California; she was first elected in 2010, and was re-elected four years later. Trump made two donations to Harris' re-election campaign — $5,000 in 2011 and $1,000 in 2013. His daughter, Ivanka Trump, also gave Harris $2,000 in 2014.
A spokesperson for Harris' campaign previously told McClatchy that in 2015, Harris donated the $6,000 she received from Trump to a nonprofit organization that advocates for civil and human rights for Central Americans. Catherine Garcia
In a sane world, a center-right party of a country facing an attack on the foundation of its democracy would lead the charge to defend the country. It was a Republican president, Ronald Reagan, who issued the ringing challenge to the Soviet Union “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.” That party has now been transformed into Russian apologists, more concerned with defending Donald Trump than defending the country. It’s madness. The modern Republican Party that has pushed the Pentagon budget to over $700 billion a year, that supports American military personnel in over 150 countries—those same Republicans have suddenly decided that Russian attacks don’t matter because “our side” won. Why?
These are not stupid men and women, though more than a few do a fair imitation. They all will have their own justifications that amount to a personal Faustian bargain predicated on the self-delusion that some particular issue or cause is more important than their oath of office.
Harris will now become a vessel for Democratic hopes for a diverse party empowered by women, as well as for Republican attempts to funnel a barrage of attacks that have so far been largely unsuccessful when waged against Biden alone.
Harris, 55, is the daughter of Indian and Jamaican immigrants. The first-term senator previously served as San Francisco district attorney and California attorney general. She developed a close friendship with Biden’s late son Beau, a relationship that Biden said he reflected upon in making his decision.
The move puts Biden, who served as vice president to the nation’s first Black president, in a history-making role in naming Harris as the first woman of color nominated for the position. tHe also has pledged, if elected, to name a Black woman to the Supreme Court.
While Harris, who dropped out of the Democratic presidential primary in December, was an early front-runner in the vice-presidential sweepstakes, there were still lingering concerns about the sting of the debate moment on her chances — until Tuesday afternoon.
“Joe Biden here. Big news: I’ve chosen Kamala Harris as my running mate,” Biden wrote in an email to supporters. “Together, with you, we’re going to beat Trump.”
4 ways Kamala Harris just made history
5:53 p.m.
History has its eyes on Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) — in more ways than one.
Former Vice President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, announced Harris as his pick to hold the position he once held under former president Barack Obama on Tuesday.
The former California attorney general is rightly being recognized as the first Black woman to sit on a major political party's national ticket, but the historic nature of Harris' position contains multitudes.
To start, Harris is the first person with Indian heritage to run on a national presidential ticket. Her late mother was born in India, and Harris has credited her maternal grandfather, a former Indian diplomat, with helping her to appreciate the "importance of democracy and a government that represents the people — all the people,” Politico reports.
Harris's nomination also marks the first time a major nominee has graduated from an HBCU, a.k.a Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Harris graduated from Howard University in 1986, receiving her B.A. after studying political science and economics.
Howard University president Wayne A.I. Frederick released a statement saying the senator's nomination "represents a milestone opportunity for our democracy to acknowledge the leadership Black women have always exhibited, but has too often been ignored.”
Harris went on to attend the University of California, Hastings where she received her J.D., making her the first person to sit on the Democratic ticket in over 35 years who did not attend an Ivy League school.
If Harris and Biden succeed in ousting President Trump from office, Harris will also hold the honor of being the first female and the first Asian American to be elected to national office, but we'll save that conversation for another day. Marianne Dodson

Harris, is this a bad Joe joke.
Come on man.
New York Times reports that it was a misleading video deliberately spread by Russia as part of the country’s campaign to interfere in the upcoming U.S. election. Just one bible (possibly a free bible being given out that night by an evangelical group) was used as kindling—alongside other notepads, books, and twigs—to start a fire that was far away from the main part of the protests. The Moms United For Black Lives Matter later tried to put it out. However, Ruptly, a Kremlin-financed video news agency, made the bible clip the focus of its video report on the night and posted several tweets and articles that swiftly went viral.
Russian meddling in the 2020 election is well underway, U.S. intelligence agencies say, and Russia’s new tactic is to publish exaggerated and misleading stories on Russian-backed news sites that will go viral and be picked up by U.S. news sites, thereby appearing legitimate.

Harris will be the first non-Caucasian woman to run on a major-party presidential ticket in American history. Biden’s pick comes just more than a year after the California Democrat charged Biden with being a racist segregationist on the debate stage.
Oh yeah, team Trump must be salivating.
Just one bible (possibly a free bible being given out that night by an evangelical group) was used as kindling
So there was a Bible. Now do a Quran.
Again where's the misleading? Unless you think burning one Bible is not as offensive as burning many. Don't think a lot of people would agree with that.
Kamala Harris’s Anti-Catholic Bigotry
Someone might want to remind Joe Biden, who’s just picked progressive California senator Kamala Harris as his running mate, that his vice-president-to-be believes Catholics are unfit to serve in our nation’s courts. (Biden, of course, as I considered at length on the homepage today, has spent his entire political career invoking his Catholic faith.)
In late 2018, while evaluating the nomination of Brian Buescher to serve as a district judge in Nebraska, Harris posed a series of questions insinuating that his involvement in the Knights of Columbus — a charitable Catholic fraternal organization — disqualified him from serving on the bench.
Please let Fox News do the VP debate. They are the only ones who will hold Harris accountable.
With Harris's selection Biden lost Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Oklahoma.
Trump is poised to make more inroads into the black and hispanic demographic as well as the white working class.

Politico’s Holly Otterbein argued that Harris has the right stuff to take on Mike Pence in the single VP debate on the schedule, having proven her mettle in her attack on Joe Biden in the first Democratic primary debate.
For the record, here’s the attack that Otterbein recalls for its incredible effectiveness. Harris suggested that Biden is racist over his past work with segregationists in the Senate as well as his opposition to busing. “I do not believe you are a racist,” Harris begins, but then accuses Biden of appeasing racists and standing in the way of little girls like herself:

Susan Rice would have been marginally better for Biden in that she's is not as polarizing and off putting as Harris. Especially with the black community.
But she had too much baggage and would have been rightly painted as a harbinger of a third Obama administration. (Obama would have certainly be the one pulling the strings.) As it is Rice, wouldn't get a cabinet level position in a Biden/Harris administration unless the GOP loses the senate and the Democrats abolish the filibuster altogether. (Be careful what you wish for. A Democrat senate without the filibuster would be nothing more than a rubber stamp for a Democrat president. And sooner or later they will lose both the senate and the presidency.)

Trump Won’t Hold More Rallies

Washington Post:
“The Trump rally may be a thing of the past. At the least, the signature stew of tribal politics, showmanship, insults, outrage, humor and hero worship that propelled Donald Trump’s improbable victory four years ago and that has punctuated his presidency with the trappings of a perpetual campaign, is on a break.
“Trump appeared to declare the end of the rally era Tuesday. He said the events — the success of which he has always measured by the size of the crowd and the ‘ratings’ — are a casualty of the coronavirus pandemic. Or more exactly, of the dispiriting optics that proper social distancing would mandate.”
Said Trump: “You can’t have empty seats.”

The filibuster rule was implemented in 1805 by vice-president Aaron Burr (Who was a Democrat oddly enough). So if it was said to be design by anyone, it was him. But it was more of an accident than a deliberate change in the rules to protect the minority.
Stop trying to pose yourself as a history expert Roger. You're way out of your element.
But if you want to insist "The filibuster was designed by a Senator who was against a civil rights act." That senator would be Robert C. (KKK) Byrd (D-WVA) who filibuster the civil rights act.

I warmly congratulate Senator Kamala Harris on her selection as Joe Biden’s Vice Presidential running mate. Senator Harris is a tenacious and trailblazing leader who will make a great partner on the campaign trail. I am confident that Biden-Harris will prove to be a winning ticket.
As I have said from the outset, I will do my utmost to assist Joe Biden to become the next president of the United States and to help him govern successfully.
Joe Biden’s principled and responsible leadership is what America urgently needs to: provide working families desperately needed support and opportunity; defeat the coronavirus and revive our economy; renew America’s standing in the world and protect our national security; redress our longstanding racial and socio-economic disparities; and restore the rule of law, respect for our Constitution and faith in our democracy. Corrupt and self-serving, Donald Trump has sold America out for his personal gain. It’s essential that we bring integrity, empathy, decency, and competence back to the White House with the election of Joe Biden.
I look forward to supporting the Biden-Harris ticket with all my energy and commitment.”
The Democratic party in the 1800s was pro slavery
Aaron Burr's lawyer owned my family. It has been a long, tragic journey from slavery.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/2070954001
Burr didn't create it for anti racial legislation but in the Senate in the 1920s blocked an anti lynching act.
Consider what happened in the early 1920s, when the Massachusetts Republican Henry Cabot Lodge introduced a bill to combat lynching. At the time, most lawmakers were not pro-lynching. An anti-lynching bill had passed the House and enjoyed majority support in the Senate as well. But to take advantage of that majority support, the bill needed to be voted on.
To ensure that this never happened, southern senators executed what can best be described as a ballet of obstruction. First, to slow the proceedings, they demanded that the Senate journal be read out loud each day in full, something technically required by the chamber’s rules but rarely enforced. Then the filibusterers began offering amendments to the journal during the reading. These could be as meaningless as inserting a senator’s middle name or changing a single word in a speech. Yet the vote on each of these amendments could be filibustered.
After a week of fruitless exhortation, Lodge realized that he had only two options: abandon the rest of his legislative priorities or scuttle the anti-lynching bill. He scuttled the bill. Over the next few decades, Congress would consider nearly 200 anti-lynching measures. Thanks to the unique procedures of the Senate, and the unique enthusiasm with which they were exploited by Jim Crow’s supporters, not one became law.
Of course at that time the Democrats were very conservative on race and other things. The election of FDR started the political landscape.
Birtherism again,?
Kamala Harris, former Vice President Joe Biden’s running mate, is eligible to serve as U.S. president, contrary to the false claims of viral posts on Facebook. Her mother is from India and her father from Jamaica — but Harris was born in Oakland, California.
Despite Facebook allegations that she's not qualified to be the President or Vice President

Something curious about that monmouth poll showing a big biden lead. Total polled 868 but results based on 785 of those polled. So they ignored the other 10% of those polled. What's the bet they were Trump voters?
Some other odd demographics - only 30% gop and a full 2/3 with no degree of any kind.

Just a question Roger, where in the United States is lynching legal?

the plantation just looks different. today it's section 8 housing instead of a shack in the shadows of an antebellum manse.
and instead of harvesting cotton, today it's harvesting ballots.
and now, like then, if you get caught trying to leave the plantation the lynching is "high-tech" vs. the low tech rope over the tree branch. see: Thomas, Clarence.
this is what LBJ meant when he said he'd "have those ni@@ers voting democrat for the next 200 years."
the only thing that's changed since the 1800's alky, is that back then the democrats proudly owned it.
today they proudly lie about it. hence their never-ending quest to re-write history with their dixie-crats becoming the GOP bullshit.
harris is a clown and a vicious liar. it will be fun to watch Team Trump take her apart as Sundown Joe watches helplessly, standing in a puddle of his own urine.
@MZHemmingway
Who knows exactly what it means but ... Trump supporters are pretty happy tonight. And Biden supporters are working hard to get happy tonight, or convince others that they are excited.
That pretty much sums it up.
cnn is already calling for slow joe to step aside...
What Biden did is make the pick that maximized his chances of continuing to make the race a straight referendum on Trump while also selecting someone, in Harris, whose resume suggests will be ready to step in if and when Biden decides to step aside.

In 2016, African American turnout was at a 20 year low.
This year, they will turnout in record numbers and in states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and even Wisconsin and Florida, will never forget how racist the President and his pathological supporters have been
"Trump’s recent musings about staging his Republican National Convention speech at the White House drew criticism from government ethics watchdogs and even one Republican senator, John Thune of South Dakota.
The suggestion wasn’t an isolated blending of official presidential duties and the campaign. It was part of a yearslong pattern of disregarding such boundaries in the Trump White House. There is a law, called the Hatch Act, that prohibits most government officials from engaging in politicking in the course of their official work.
The law does not apply to the president or vice president. While other presidents took campaign advantage of the trappings of the office, something that came to be known as the “Rose Garden strategy,” they typically refrained from explicit electoral appeals or attacks on their opponents at official presidential events. Federal election law and measures governing appropriations prohibit using taxpayer dollars for electioneering.
Since resuming official travel at the beginning of May after a coronavirus-imposed pause, Trump has held 25 presidential out-of-town events. Of these events, transcribed on the official White House website, the president spoke about the election or attacked his opponent, Joe Biden, at 12 of them, nearly half. His presidential stage provided a venue for supporters to urge others to vote for Trump in November at three additional events.
Administration officials have been cited for breaking the Hatch Act 13 times by federal investigators at the Office of Special Counsel (not to be confused with special counsel Robert Mueller). Twelve more investigations are underway. The law dates from the New Deal era, enacted after a scandal where employees of the Works Progress Administration were pressured to work on the campaigns of candidates friendly to President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Neither the White House, the campaign or Trump’s campaign treasurer, Bradley Crate, responded to requests for comment.
Kellyanne Conway, counselor to the president, violated the Hatch Act so many times that the OSC took the drastic measure of recommending she be fired, calling her actions “egregious, notorious and ongoing.” (Trump refused to do so.)
The special counsel, Henry Kerner, is a Trump appointee and member of the conservative Federalist Society. He previously worked for Republicans Darrell Issa and Jason Chaffetz on Capitol Hill.
When asked about the OSC’s recommendation, Conway said, “blah blah blah,” adding, “Let me know when the jail sentence starts.” Hatch Act violations are not criminal. The most significant result of a violation is dismissal.
Hatch Act violations were relatively rare in the previous two presidential administrations. Two cabinet officials were cited for Hatch Act violations during the eight years of Barack Obama’s presidency. Some half-dozen senior officials in the Obama and Bush administrations said that they were frequently advised to avoid even the appearance of electioneering at official events.
“There was a very bright line between what was a campaign event and what was an official event,” said Greg Jenkins, the director of advance for President George W. Bush during the period that included the 2004 reelection campaign. “If you could stretch things and say, yes, it’s perfectly legal to do this, but it has the appearance of impropriety — you don't do it.”
Kathleen Sebelius, the former secretary of health and human services under Obama, was cited for making a statement urging his reelection during a gala for the Human Rights Campaign, an LGBTQ rights group. Sebelius apologized, and the Treasury was reimbursed for the cost of the trip.
“I’d prefer that it not be on my record,” Sebelius said in an interview from her home in Lawrence, Kansas. Given that she was on the Kansas ethics commission and was a national board member of Common Cause, “it’s kind of a black mark.” She added: “But I did what they say I did,” and said that “it puts into perspective what goes on every day in this current administration that just makes the top of my head come off.”
Previous campaigns have reimbursed taxpayers for costs associated with politicking while on official travel. And while disclosures do show that campaign committees associated with Trump have paid $896,000 to the Treasury and the White House Military Office in May and June, federal law doesn’t require an accounting of what those expenses were for.
Trump would not violate the Hatch Act if he chose the White House for his nomination acceptance speech, but executive branch employees in the White House and agencies might be in jeopardy if they support or attend the event, experts said.
“There are several laws that prohibit the use of federal funds and resources for partisan political events like the president’s RNC speech,” said Donald Sherman, deputy director of the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, or CREW. “Trump’s predecessors scrupulously avoided mixing official conduct with politics in this way, but President Trump has routinely used the apparatus of the government to try to boost his electoral prospects.” "
We are facing a depression instead of a recession if that Moron in the Whitehouse manages to destroy Social Security and Medicare.

Trumpism people are calling Harris Obhartiss
how Killer Cuomo got away with fudging the covid death numbers:
The nurse with the Columbia County Health Department recorded the COVID-19 deaths at nearby hospitals — two at Albany Medical Center on May 4, another at the same hospital two days later; one at Columbia Memorial Hospital on May 17, and another there two days later — and, along with her boss, concluded there was a pattern.
The people dying at the hospitals had been residents of a local nursing home, the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Barnwell in the tiny town of Valatie, New York. In all, the nurse counted 18 deaths of residents over five weeks. She didn’t have detailed medical records for the patients, but she noted that all had arrived at the hospital with orders saying no extraordinary measures were to be taken to keep them alive. As a result, she and the Columbia County health director developed a theory: “For me,” said Jack Mabb, the health director, “it appeared they were sending people to the hospital so they wouldn’t die in the facility.”
A change in the way New York tabulated nursing home deaths could have incentivized such behavior, he said, making homes’ records on COVID-19 containment appear better than they were.

I just noted that the Democrats flag bearer, Joe Biden has picked a lady, the Senator for California, Kamala Haris for a Running Mate. And she is Black. Her mother is Indian while her father is a black Jamaican.
If they win against the Republican Donald J. Trump on Tuesday November 3rd, it will be a big win for women. History in the making.
Bernie is the 1980 comparison. Not Harris.
We had a black president for 8 years. The novelty is worn off. What minorities remember is Trump creating jobs and wage growth for them.

Can't wait for the charges of racism ad soon ad she gets a hard question
African American women are going to turn out in record numbers and they will elect Biden and Harris in a tsunami
1⃣ As a U.S. senator, Harris has fought to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, make higher education tuition-free for the vast majority of Americans, reform the cash bail system, protect the legal rights of refugees and immigrants, and expand access to affordable, quality health care.
2⃣ Harris was the first woman of color to serve as attorney general of the state of California, and only the second Black woman as well as the first South Asian-American woman in history to be elected to the U.S. Senate.
3⃣ Kamala Harris truly believes that everyone deserves equal treatment regardless of sex, gender, or ability. Her allyship with the LGBTQ community was front and center when she officiated at California's first same-sex marriage.
4⃣ Harris is a proud graduate of Howard University and will be a powerful voice to increase critical investments in our country's historically Black colleges and universities.
5⃣ And as a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, she's been a leading voice in the fight to hold the Trump administration accountable.
FANTASTIC MORNING !!!

Trump is BEAMING
and so am I !!!
now we've got to mobilize and vote the democrat party out of existence.
And that will happen.
"Harris has a great story to tell. I'm legit loving the spin coming from Democratic strategists tonight because it's so bad that it's actually funny.
the ONLY chance the dems have now is ballot fraud.
Conspiracy theorists won a major victory on Tuesday as a Republican supporter of the convoluted pro-Trump movement QAnon triumphed in her House primary runoff election in Georgia, all but ensuring that she will represent a deep-red district in Congress.
The ascension of Marjorie Taylor Greene, who embraces a conspiracy theory that the F.B.I. has labeled a potential domestic terrorism threat, came as six states held primary and runoff elections on Tuesday.
Those races included a well-funded Democratic primary challenge to Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, who emerged victorious to secure a clean sweep of re-election fights for the group of first-term Democratic congresswomen of color known as the Squad.

Bill Gates created Microsoft and is one of the richest men in the world
You make a lot of important decisions as president. But the first one is who you select to be your Vice President. I’ve decided that Kamala Harris is the best person to help me take this fight to Donald Trump and Mike Pence and then to lead this nation starting in January 2021.
These aren’t normal times. For the first time in our history, we’re facing three historic crises -- all at the same time. We’re facing the worst pandemic in 100 years. The worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. The most powerful calls for racial justice in a generation. And we have a president who has both failed to lead on the virus -- costing lives and decimating our economy -- and fanned the flames of hate and division.
I need someone working alongside me who is smart, tough, and ready to lead. Kamala is that person.
I need someone who understands the pain that so many people in our nation are suffering. Whether they’ve lost their job, their business, a loved one to this virus. This president says he “doesn’t want to be distracted by it”. He doesn’t understand that taking care of the people of this nation -- all the people -- isn’t a distraction -- it’s the job. Kamala understands that.
I need someone who understands that we are in a battle for the soul of this nation. And that if we’re going to get through these crises -- we need to come together and unite for a better America. Kamala gets that.
If I’m President, I’m committed to making things better -- not just in the short term, but sustainably, structurally, and permanently. We won’t have time to delay. I need a partner who can help deliver on those promises, and quickly.
I was privileged to serve this nation for two terms as Vice President alongside President Obama, a man of extraordinary character who I believe will go down in history as one of our great presidents. So, I know a thing or two about being Vice President. More than anything, I know it can’t be a political decision. It has to be a governing decision. If the people of this nation entrust me and Kamala with the office of President and Vice President for the next four years, we’re going to inherit a nation in crisis, a nation divided, and a world in disarray. We won’t have a minute to waste.
That’s what led me to Kamala Harris.
As a United States Senator from California, Kamala represents the biggest state in the union. She’s been one of the toughest and most effective Senators on two of the most important committees in the Senate -- Intelligence and Judiciary. Two committees that have directly dealt with some of the most important issues facing this nation at home and around the world.
She sits on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, where she deals with the nation’s most sensitive threats.
We’ve all watched her hold the Trump administration accountable for its corruption, stand up to a Justice Department that’s run amok, and be a powerful voice against their extreme nominations.
She’s been a leader on criminal justice and marriage equality. And she has focused like a laser on the racial disparities as a result of the coronavirus.
As California’s Attorney General, she led one of the biggest legal departments in the nation -- where she was a powerful advocate for people in taking on the big banks and protecting women and kids from abuse. She’s delivered billions in settlement money to consumers, taking on companies for fraud, pollution and abuse.
I first met Kamala through my son Beau. They were both Attorneys General at the same time. He had enormous respect for her and her work. I thought a lot about that as I made this decision. There is no one’s opinion I valued more than Beau’s and I’m proud to have Kamala standing with me on this campaign.
Her record of accomplishment -- fighting tooth and nail for what’s right -- is why I’m choosing her. There is no door Kamala won’t knock on, no stone she’ll leave unturned, if it means making life better -- for the people.
So join me today in welcoming Kamala Harris to our team.
She will wake up every day -- like I will -- thinking about how to make life better for people. How to rebuild our country back better. How to make it more just. How to win the next fight in the battle for the soul of this nation.
Because that’s what the Presidency -- and the Vice Presidency -- is. It’s a duty to care: for you, for all of us. This will be the fight of our administration, and there’s no better partner that I could have asked for.

Did U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris’ Ancestor Own Slaves in Jamaica?
While studying for his Ph.D. at the University of California at Berkeley, he met Shyamala Gopalan, an Indian cancer researcher. The couple were married, and their daughter, the future California Attorney General and U.S. Senator, was born in Berkeley in 1964. Harris and her sister, Maya, are therefore first-generation American citizens, born in the U.S. to a Jamaican father and Indian mother.
In his Jamaica Global article, Harris claimed to be descended from the 19th-century planter and slave owner Hamilton Brown. He wrote:
“My roots go back, within my lifetime, to my paternal grandmother Miss Chrishy (née Christiana Brown, descendant of Hamilton Brown who is on record as plantation and slave owner and founder of Brown’s Town) and to my maternal grandmother Miss Iris (née Iris Finegan, farmer and educator, from Aenon Town and Inverness, ancestry unknown to me). The Harris name comes from my paternal grandfather Joseph Alexander Harris, land-owner and agricultural ‘produce’ exporter (mostly pimento or all-spice), who died in 1939 one year after I was born and is buried in the church yard of the magnificent Anglican Church which Hamilton Brown built in Brown’s Town (and where, as a child, I learned the catechism, was baptized and confirmed, and served as an acolyte).” [Emphasis is added].
There is no doubt that Hamilton Brown was a prominent plantation owner in Jamaica during the first half of the 19th century, owned slaves, and also advocated against the abolition of slavery and sought to downplay the difficult working and living conditions of slaves in Jamaica.

So her own father claimed he was a descendant of slave owners with substantial proof....

A study comparing coronavirus exposure in London and Stockholm casts more doubt over herd immunity.
It found that the two capital cities had the same infection rate — 17% — earlier in the summer.
This is despite the UK and Sweden taking very different approaches to the coronavirus pandemic.
Unlike the UK and most other countries, Sweden opted against strict lockdown measures.
This decision was taken partly in the belief that herd immunity was achievable.
