Just as I suggested!

The only true sports league that represents diversity understands!
This past week, the NBA turned heads when every single player, coach, and referee took a knee during the National Anthem at the Pelicans/Jazz game. And they weren’t the only ones.

It may have seemed patriotism had been put on ice, and as it turned out, it had.
Hence, on Saturday, just before the New York Rangers took on the Carolina Hurricanes — each NHL player stood for “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

If you blow up the picture, you will see that everyone on both the player benches were also standing. Does this surprise me? Well no, since I suggested a while back that NHL players were likely going to be the only members of the major sports leagues that did not engage in the facade.

This is not because these people are racist or not black. It's because these people truly represent a diversity that is not found in any other sport. You have players who speak different languages, represent different nationalities, and come from very different cultures. They have learned to bond on the ice even though they have real barriers that other leagues do not deal with.

It's amazing how many eastern European and other first generation immigrants I know are actually very pro-American. The reason is that they have something else to actually compare it to. When someone is living their dream in America (whether it be just having steady work and not being controlled by local fascist criminals or playing professional hockey in the NHL), they are less likely to complain about the sort first world problems that so many native (and spoiled) Americans complain about.

President Trump’s record of accomplishments is easy to compile.

Most significantly, he has brought the existential threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party into the sunlight. No more nice words. No more treating the Tiananmen Square massacre as a bug, not a feature. The light is on. Trump has pulled the cord.

With huge help from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Trump has put two justices on the Supreme Court, 53 judges on the federal courts of appeals, 144 and counting on the District courts, and more than 20 on the specialty courts. The Constitution has been buttressed.

Trump’s tax cuts, along with the massive deregulation he orchestrated, led to 3.5 percent unemployment until the regime in Beijing acted with criminal recklessness toward a virus that has devastated the world. Economic recovery depends on those rule rollbacks, and not just grotesque overreaches such as the Clean Power Plan and “Waters of the United States” rule, but on hundreds of other intrusions into the private businesses and onto the private property of Americans.

Trump took a military operating in President Barack Obama’s last years at about $600 billion and moved that budget by his third year to $738 billion, with more in the budget coming soon. The Navy necessary to meet China on the high seas, all 355 ships of it, is being planned and built.

Trump tore up the so-called Iran nuclear deal, which was a tower of absurd hopes built on a policy of appeasement and a foundation of hostility to Israel.

Trump moved the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and blessed Israel’s necessary annexation of the Golan Heights. His peace plan is the closest to reality of any since Oslo.

Trump took the United States out of the unbalanced, absurd, doomed-to-fail Paris Climate Agreement and has instead focused on and delivered American energy independence. People have real job security in Pennsylvania as a result, if not in jetting off to Paris for follow-up seminars.

Trump ordered Iran’s master terrorist, Gen. Qasem Soleimani, killed, accomplished the complete physical destruction of the Islamic State caliphate and successfully hunted down its terrorist chieftain, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The former was never contemplated by Obama, the latter couldn’t get done by him even though his scampering from Iraq in 2011 led to the rise of Islamic State and its thousand barbarities. The Syrian butcher, Bashar al-Assad, has twice used chemical weapons and twice had cruise missiles remind him that the red line is back and is real. Russian mercenaries attacked U.S. troops in Syria and were mowed down. Not an American was killed. Those are “Trump rules of engagement.” Even Cuba is back in its box, joined there by Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro.

At home, Trump pushed through the long-overdue justice reform legislation and the reorganization of Veterans Affairs, and, this year, the Great American Outdoors Act that fully funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund. House Democrats passed a piffling bill when covid-19 arrived, while Trump, McConnell and Senate Republicans advanced the innovative and massive Paycheck Protection Program that kept the U.S. economy from collapsing even as it contracted by nearly 10 percent in the second quarter as the China’s principal export, covid-19, ravaged the country.

Trump’s border wall, proceeding apace, makes obvious sense. More than 200 miles completed, with Trump tweeting Thursday the length with be 300 miles by September. . . .

btw... The Babylon Bee reported that several cardboard cut-outs tested positive for Covid since those first games. Might have to rethink it!

You cannot.

There ARE some nutcases however who are claiming that Fauci created Covid and sent it to China to release onto the world so that he could personally profit from the creation of a vaccine.

Nutcases, I said.

Trump Blasts Birx for Grim Report on Virus
August 3, 2020 at 11:20 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

President Trump slammed Dr. Deborah Birx on Twitter after she said the pandemic was “extraordinarily widespread.”
__________

I knew he would be upset because she simply can no longer repeat his preposterous lies.

So he slams her, accusing her of givingin to Pelosi for having slammed her. See next post.

It will be nice when we again have a real President.

Trump Blasts Birx for Grim Report on Virus
August 3, 2020 at 11:20 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

President Trump slammed Dr. Deborah Birx on Twitter after she said the pandemic was “extraordinarily widespread.”

Said Trump:
“So Crazy Nancy Pelosi said horrible things about Dr. Deborah Birx, going after her because she was too positive on the very good job we are doing on combatting the China Virus, including Vaccines & Therapeutics.

"In order to counter Nancy, Deborah took the bait & hit us. Pathetic!”

NO SIR, YOU ARE PATHETIC.

CNN: “While Trump and other top White House officials have publicly attacked Dr. Anthony Fauci, the tweet marked the first time Birx, the coordinator of the White House coronavirus task force, publicly drew Trump’s ire.”

SORRY DONALD. YOU HAVE GONE SO FAR BEYOND THE PALE THAT EVEN BIRX, WHO TRIED TO BE SYMPATHETIC TO YOU, NO LONGER CAN SPOUT YOUR LINE.

C.H. Truth said...

You also out and out lie. I have NEVER claimed that Presidents "create" flu and other viruses.

Are you saying you DID NOT attempt to compare the seasonal flu that happened "under Obama" to the Covid virus that happened "under Trump" as if they were responsible for them?

But if you want...

You can just clear it all up right now, Reverend...

By declaring that Presidents do not create or are responsible for the sicknesses and viruses (like the flu and Coronavirus) that have been going on for centuries.

If you refuse to clear it up with that admission.

Then we know you are the one lying!

Which is par for the course for the washed up Reverend.

Oh, I didn't see 10:47 until just now
(1:45PM, 8/3/2020).

I SAID TO CH:
You also out and out lie. I have NEVER claimed that Presidents "create" flu and other viruses.

Are you saying you DID NOT attempt to compare the seasonal flu that happened "under Obama" to the Covid virus that happened "under Trump" as if they were responsible for them?

But if you want...

I SAY:
That is easy enough to do, Ch.
Rat was trying to say that Obama dealt with the swine flu far better than Trump dealt with the Covid virus.

I simply pointed out that there were far, far, far more Covid deaths in Trump's last few months
than there were swine flu deaths in ALL of Obama's time in office.

That is NOT to say that either Trump or Obama "created" either the swine flu or the Covid virus.

Neither of them "created" either virus, nor did I say they did.

Only a liar like you would you make up that conclusion.

________

Ch goes on, with my comments in BOLD:

By declaring that Presidents
do not create
I NEVER SAID THEY DID
or are responsible for the sicknesses and viruses (like the flu and Coronavirus)
I DID SAY THAT BOTH TRUMP AND OBAMA WERE AND ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR HOW THEY HANDLED THE FLU AND THE CARONAVIRUS AND THE RESULTING SICKNESSES AND DEATHS...

If you refuse to clear it up with that admission
Then we know you are the one lying!

I JUST CLEARED IT UP,
BUT I DOUBT IF YOU CAN RECOGNIZE SIMPLE TRUTH, YOU WHO ARE SO DETERMINED PUT WORDS I NEVER SAID IN MY MOUTH IN ORDER TO DISTORT AND LIE ABOUT WHAT I DO SAY, AND WHAT I STILL PROUDLY SAY.

DEATHS UNDER TRUMP
152,840 as of two days ago

DEATHS UNDER OBAMA
12,469 TOTAL

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

I've seen you do that again and again, Ch.

You take a phrase like
"they are responsible for how they handled the viruses"

and make it say
"they are responsible for creating the viruses"

and THAT, AS I SAID,
IS NOTHING BUT AN OUT AND OUT LIE.

C.H. Truth said...

So it's your understanding Reverend...

That dealing with the seasonal flu is exactly the same and a fair comparison to dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak?

Well, there you have it. The Reverend qualified himself.

btw... not to fact check or anything but the CDC keeps track of flu deaths as well (They started a couple years after the swine flu outbreak) and from 2010-2011 through 2016-2017 (part of the Obama legacy) - there were 337,200 deaths from the flu.

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2010-2011.html

I wonder out loud if you got the 12,469 number from Goddard?

Trump Reveals Self-Delusion Over Virus Deaths
August 4, 2020 at 6:54 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

“It’s sometimes hard to determine whether President Trump is being willfully misleading or if he truly believes what he’s saying. But an astonishing interview clip from Axios appears to show that Trump has genuinely managed to convince himself that his response to the coronavirus pandemic has been effective—because he only considers partial and deceptively flattering statistics to be true,” the Daily Beast reports.

“Brandishing childishly simplistic, brightly colored COVID-19 graphs presumably provided to him by aides trying to keep him happy, Trump proudly tells Axios’ Jonathan Swan that the U.S. is ‘lower than the world,’ without elaborating.
When Swan looks at the chart, it becomes clear Trump is only considering death as a proportion of coronavirus cases—not as a proportion of population, which shows the U.S. IS FARING VERY BADLY.”

Trump snaps back:
“You can’t do that. You have to go by where… look, here is the United States… You have to go by the cases.”

TRUMP LIES THE WAY CH AND RAT AND THE REST OF YOU LIE.

THIS WAS POSTED BY FACT CHECK
March 13, 2020

BEFORE IT WAS KNOWN HOW BAD TRUMP'S 150K PLUS DEATHS WOULD BE

In tweets and other appearances, President Trump’s H1N1 Swine Flu Pandemic Spin
By Jessica McDonald and Lori Robertson

Donald Trump has repeatedly compared his response to the new coronavirus with President Barack Obama’s handling of the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic. But Trump’s information is frequently incorrect or misleading — and the two viruses are very different.

In a March 4 telephone interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, for example, Trump falsely claimed that the Obama administration “didn’t do anything” about the 2009 pandemic.

Trump, March 4:
Well, I just say that it’s, you know, a very, very small number in this country. And we’re going to try and keep it that way as much as possible. I will say, though, the H1N1, that was swine flu, commonly referred to as swine flu. And that went from around April of ’09 to April of ’10, where there were 60 million cases of swine flu. And over — actually, it’s over 13,000. I think you might have said 17. I had heard it was 13, but a lot of — a lot of deaths. And they didn’t do anything about it. Interestingly, with the swine flu, children were — in particular, they were vulnerable, sort of the opposite in that respect. But children were very vulnerable to the swine flu. But they never did close the borders. I don’t think they ever did have the travel ban. And we did. And, again, they lost at least 13,000.
___

In a March 12 meeting with the prime minister of Ireland, Trump repeated the sentiment.

TRUMP:
“If you go back and look at the swine flu, and what happened with the swine flu, you’ll see how many people died, and how actually nothing was done for such a long period of time, as people were dying all over the place,” he said. “We’re doing it the opposite. We’re very much ahead of everything.”

Trump is correct on the number of H1N1 cases and deaths, but it’s misleading to compare those figures to the current outbreak of COVID-19, which has just begun. It’s also not true that the Obama administration did nothing or waited a long time to act on the H1N1 influenza pandemic.

In 2009, a new H1N1 influenza virus cropped up out of season, in late spring. Because of genetic similarities to influenza viruses in pigs, it became known as a “swine flu,” even though there is no evidence the virus spread between pigs or pigs to humans.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were about 60.8 million cases of infection with the novel type of influenza virus in the U.S. between April 2009 and April 2010, with a total of approximately 274,304 hospitalizations and 12,469 deaths.

While that death toll may sound high, it’s over an entire year and, in fact, ended up being far lower than was initially expected. The strain of influenza also turned out to have a case fatality rate of just 0.02% — well below even many typical seasonal influenzas.

Everything that’s known about the new coronavirus so far suggests that it’s an entirely different beast than its most recent pandemic predecessor. Peter Jay Hotez, a professor and dean of the tropical medicine school at Baylor College of Medicine, told us that the new virus, which is known as SARS-CoV-2, is considerably more transmissible and more lethal than H1N1.

For those reasons, he said, “the urgency to contain this coronavirus is so much greater than the H1N1 2009 one was.”
