So Biden will now "condemn" the violence?

After weeks of providing full scale support for BLM/Antifa riots, Biden will supposedly condemn the rioting in an upcoming speech.

One has to ask if this is too little too late
or simply lesser of two losing strategies?

On one hand, those people who are sick and tired of all of the rioting and sick and tired of all of the politicians who have been openly in support of said rioting are likely going to see through the Biden rhetoric on this. The reality is this sudden 180 is little more than a blatant political reaction to the turning of the polls. One has to wonder if Biden really has an actual position on this issue or if he just has a finger in the wind on this.

More to the point, the easiest way for a politician to lose an election, is to attempt to be come a "light" version of what the other side is offering. If you want "law and order" then you already have Trump. Nobody is going to vote for the Biden "Trump light" version of providing law and order if law and order is their issue.

Meanwhile, the so called Democratic leader right now is about to undermine many of those marginal minority voters who are not all that excited about Biden to begin with. How will they feel about Biden (and Democrats in general) if their leader decides to abandon their cause... which right now involves 80% rioting and 20% peaceful protests. While you can pay lip service and pretend (like CNN) that most Democrats just want "mostly peaceful protests" - a quick look at social media will tell you that the young rank and file liberal believes that the violence is a necessarily step. In fact, Democrats across the board will eventually admit (when pushed on the issue) that violence is often times necessary to move forward a cause. They believe that peaceful protests will be ignored and eventually shunned (much like taking a knee during the national anthem at sporting events came and went a few years back).

The reality here is that things went too far and you cannot just take it back. Democratic Politicians here in Minnesota appeased the Minneapolis rioters, allowing over a half billion in local damage. Democratic politicians in Seattle appeased failed experiment of CHOP, and likely permanently ruined what was "the" trendy down town up scale retail district in Seattle. Democrats have appeased protesters in Portland, in New York, in Chicago, and now in Kenosha. It's going to be difficult to simply pretend that none of that happened or otherwise "condemn" things now without directly or tacitly admitting that this appeasement was wrong. There are a lot of Democratic politicians at every level as well as liberal voters who will not like their leader bending a knee to the law and order faction of our country.

What does Biden hope to accomplish? Does he expect that he will suddenly provide cover for the state and local Democrats to push back against the rioters? Does he somehow expect that these BLM and Antifa terrorists will listen to an nearly 80 year old man with a history of racism and put an end to things? Doubtful.

I think it just will reinforce the concept for many of these radicals that they have nobody really in their corner on a political front, and voting is not a useful tool for fixing what they believe is wrong. Either way, they will get a white guy in his 70's who doesn't believe in what they are doing.

Add that to the millions of others who will see Biden as unprincipled for not sticking with a stance, and it's not hard to see why this is a lose/lose situation for Dementia Joe.

In the current chaos, I’ve come to appreciate Marcus Aurelius’s maxim that “The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.” And I have to say I’m horribly conflicted on some issues. I’m supportive of attempts to interrogate the sins of the past, in particular the gruesome legacy of slavery and segregation, and their persistent impact on the present. And in that sense, I’m a supporter of the motives of the good folks involved with the Black Lives Matter movement. But I’m equally repelled by the insistent attempt by BLM and its ideological founders to malign and dismiss the huge progress we’ve made, to re-describe the American experiment in freedom as one utterly defined by racism, and to call the most tolerant country on the planet, with unprecedented demographic diversity, a form of “white supremacy”. I’m tired of hearing Kamala Harris say, as she did yesterday: “The reality is that the life of a black person in America has never been treated as fully human.” This is what Trump has long defended as “truthful hyperbole” — which is a euphemism for a lie.

But here’s one thing I have absolutely no conflict about. Rioting and lawlessness is evil. And any civil authority that permits, condones or dismisses violence, looting and mayhem in the streets disqualifies itself from any legitimacy. This comes first. If one party supports everything I believe in but doesn’t believe in maintaining law and order all the time and everywhere, I’ll back a party that does. In that sense, I’m a one-issue voter, because without order, there is no room for any other issue. Disorder always and everywhere begets more disorder; the minute the authorities appear to permit such violence, it is destined to grow. And if liberals do not defend order, fascists will.

Here is a quote from Yoom Nguyen, owner of the Lotus Restaurant in Minneapolis, who just witnessed a second assault on his business: “Watching looters bust down our family restaurant is so heartbreaking. Senseless, they’re doing it while laughing and smirking. Not gonna lie, I damn near shot a man tonight. He threw that fucking rock at my family photo and looked right at me. I said ‘you motherfucker …’ tears immediately rolled down my face. I just can’t no more. I’m thankful I walked away but Fuck y’all.” This is how violence metastasizes. And as I’ve watched protests devolve over the summer into a series of riots, arson expeditions, and lawless occupations of city blocks, along with disgusting and often racist profanity, I’ve begun to feel similarly. And when I watched the Democratic Convention and heard close to nothing about ending this lawlessness, I noted the silence.

I don’t think I’m the only one, as even the Democrats seem now to realize. And this massive blindspot is not hard to understand. When a political party finds itself so wedded to a new and potent ideology it cannot call out violence when it sees it, then it is walking straight into a trap. When the discourse on the left has become one in which scholars and editors and Tweeters vie with one another to up the ante on how inherently evil America has always been, redescribe it as a slaveocracy, and endorse racist books that foment the most egregious stereotypes about “whiteness”, most ordinary people, who love their country and are mostly proud of its past, will rightly balk. One of the most devastating lines in president Trump’s convention speech last night was this: “Tonight, I ask you a very simple question: How can the Democrat Party ask to lead our country when it spends so much time tearing down our country?” A cheap shot, yes. But in the current context, a political bullseye.

Joe Biden, the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee, blasted President Donald Trump as having "recklessly" encouraged violence after one man died following clashes in Portland Saturday between members of a pro-Trump vehicle rally and Black Lives Matter protesters.

In a lengthy Sunday afternoon statement, Biden called "the deadly violence" in Portland "unacceptable" and said he condemns "violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right."

"As a country, we must condemn the incitement of hate and resentment that led to this deadly clash," Biden added. "It is not a peaceful protest when you go out spoiling for a fight. What does President Trump think will happen when he continues to insist on fanning the flames of hate and division in our society and using the politics of fear to whip up his supporters?"

Biden accused Trump of "recklessly encouraging violence" and said while the president "may believe tweeting about law and order makes him strong ... his failure to call on his supporters to stop seeking conflict shows just how weak he is."

"He may think that war in our streets is good for his reelection chances, but that is not presidential leadership — or even basic human compassion," Biden said. "The job of a president is to lower the temperature ... The temperature in the country is higher, tensions run stronger, divisions run deeper. And all of us are less safe because Donald Trump can’t do the job of the American president."

Biden's statement came after Trump praised a caravan of his supporters who moved into Portland Saturday and were filmed spraying protesters with paintballs and what appeared to be pepper spray while the lifted four-wheel-drive trucks were also seen driving through downtown Portland intersections filled with protesters.

Video from the scene also showed protesters hurling projectiles like water bottles at the Trump caravan. Multiple fights were seen breaking our between members of both groups.

Portland police are investigating the shooting death of a man amid those clashes, though it is not immediately clear whether the shooting was directly connected to the skirmishes. A picture from the scene published by Getty Images showed the victim wearing a hat with the Patriot Prayer group's logo. That group, described as far-right by the Southern Poverty Law Center, has previously clashed with protesters in Portland.

In a tweet, Trump shared a video of the pro-Trump caravan driving into Portland and labeled them "GREAT PATRIOTS!" In another tweet, he referred to protesters in Washington, D.C., as "Disgraceful Anarchists" and said, "We are watching them closely."

"The big backlash going on in Portland cannot be unexpected after 95 days of watching and incompetent Mayor admit that he has no idea what he is doing," Trump said in one Twitter post. "The people of Portland won't put up with no safety any longer. The Mayor is a FOOL. Bring in the National Guard!"

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, a Democrat, denounced Trump's rhetoric on Sunday.

"It's you who have created the hate and the division," he said, adding, "You have tried to divide us more than any other figure in modern history and now you want me to stop the violence that you helped create. What America needs is for you to be stopped."

In response, the president tweeted: "The Radical Left Democrat Mayors, like the dummy running Portland, or the guy right now in his basement unwilling to lead or even speak out against crime, will never be able to do it!"

The latest violent episode came days after Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, on Tuesday allegedly opened fire during a Black Lives Matter protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, killing two people. Protests in Kenosha have followed the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man, that was captured on video.

Rittenhouse was later arrested and charged with two counts of homicide among other charges in connection to that shooting. On Sunday, Trump liked a post promoting a thread from a Twitter user explaining why "Kyle Rittenhouse is a good example of why I decided to vote for Trump."

Amid all this was the Republican National Convention, where one of the main messages made by Trump and his surrogates is that Americans wouldn't. be safe under a President Biden. Biden and his supporters have countered that the violence currently taking place across the country is happening under Trump's leadership.

Pro-Trump caravan and protesters clashed before shooting death in Portland's streets
Paintballs and pepper spray preceded gunfire as a pro-Trump caravan came into conflict with protesters and Black Lives Matter demonstrators Saturday.

A day of clashes between a pro-Trump caravan and counterprotesters turned violent Saturday, culminating in the shooting death of a man in the streets of Portland, Oregon.

Supporters of President Donald Trump had gathered in a Portland suburb in an apparent show of force and an attempt to counter the Black Lives Matter protests that have been ongoing in Oregon's biggest city for months.

The pro-Trump vehicle rally began near Clackamas, southeast of the city center. The caravan, made up of hundreds of cars and trucks, traveled for several hours throughout the city, Portland police said at a news conference Sunday. Mayor Ted Wheeler said at the same news conference that the caravan was "supported and energized by the president himself."

Police said that they tried to take "precautionary measures" to keep protesters out of the downtown area but that they were unsuccessful. Once the caravan reached downtown, clashes occurred between the pro-Trump demonstrators and counterprotesters, police said.

Justin Dunlap, an independent journalist who was on the ground in Portland on Saturday, said that the "Trump car caravan was causing trouble" and that he heard reports that it was pepper-spraying people. Dunlap also said there were reports of people being hit by paintballs from caravan members.

The day ended in the one death, about which police have yet to provide many details.

Dunlap said he saw the victim facing two people when he heard the shots. He did not see the gun being fired because mace was sprayed at the same time, and it remains unclear whether or how the shooting was connected to the protests.

The victim turned "took a few steps, then fell face down," said Dunlap, 44, adding that the two people facing him ran from the scene.

A picture from the scene published by Getty Images showed the man wearing a hat with the logo of Patriot Prayer, which the Southern Poverty Law Center describes as a far-right organization. The group has previously rallied in Portland.

Wheeler called for an end to the clashes Sunday.

"All of us must take a stance against violence. It doesn't matter who are you or what your politics are. We have to all stop the violence," he said at a press conference, blaming Trump in part for the violence.

"Do you seriously wonder, Mr. President, why this is the first time in decades that America has seen this level of violence? It is you," Wheeler said.

Trump had criticized the mayor and praised the caravan Sunday morning, calling its members "GREAT PATRIOTS" on Twitter.

The president has often called for a return to "law and order" in Portland, where Black Lives Matter protests have continued since May.

"The big backlash going on in Portland cannot be unexpected after 95 days of watching and incompetent Mayor admit that he has no idea what he is doing," he wrote on Twitter.

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown slammed Trump on Sunday, blaming him for the violence in a statement.

"President Trump has encouraged division and stoked violence. It happened in Charlottesville. It happened in Kenosha. And now, unfortunately, it is happening in Portland, Oregon," said the governor, who condemned violence from "all ends of the political spectrum."

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden echoed Brown.

"I condemn violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right. And I challenge Donald Trump to do the same," Biden said. "It does not matter if you find the political views of your opponents abhorrent. Any loss of life is a tragedy."

Dead candidate walking - Biden misread public’s law and order mood, says PATRICK BASHAM

In any political campaign, there's a moment that tells you which way the electoral wind is blowing. In this year's American presidential campaign, that moment arrived on Wednesday.

When a candidate changes his tune three quarters of the way through a race, it is not because he knows he holds a winning hand. He does so because the electoral ground is shifting beneath his feet.

The Biden campaign made this move for one simple reason. Its own internal polling numbers revealed what Democracy Institute/Sunday Express polls have shown for the past three months: the overwhelming majority of Americans, including Black voters, are opposed to the organised anarchy – looting, vandalism, mayhem, and murdering of innocent people – explicitly and implicitly cheered on by a considerable cabal of Democratic politicians, while an even large number simply turned a blind eye.

Although Biden never condoned the violence, neither did he bother to publicly denounce it, at least not with any vigour, conviction, or regularity. By the end of August, the electoral writing was on the wall. Should voters continue to rally to President Trump’s clarion call for a return to safe streets and fully funded police departments, Biden’s candidacy would be dead in the water.

So, Biden finally acted; but, has the law and order horse already bolted the political stable? Our polling evidence suggests most definitely that it has, as two-thirds of voters still say Biden hasn’t been critical enough of the riots.
...
That is why our new poll finds no traditional convention bounce for Biden. Stunningly, in fact, the convention actually hurt Biden’s chances. Only 8 percent of voters are more likely to vote for Biden because of the Democratic convention, but 13 percent are less likely to do so.

Just as the Biden campaign completely missed the mark with its one note, “America is a racist hell dying of the coronavirus – and it’s ALL Trump’s fault” convention mantra, the Trump campaign hit an electoral home run this past week with its staging and execution of the Republican National Convention.
...
With the further assistance of far superior stage management and production values, as well as politically astute speaker selection (i.e. lots of regular Americans, not the Hollywood celebrities favoured by the Democratic convention organisers), the Republican convention improved Trump’s well-established (at least in our polling) chances of reelection.

Today, just 9 percent of voters are less likely to vote for Trump because of his convention; strikingly, 21 percent are more likely to do so. In so deeply divided a political nation, characterised by an ever-dwindling band of truly undecided ‘swing’ voters, those numbers represent an electoral breakthrough.

This presidential election has been Donald Trump’s to lose for some time now, as our polling has documented. The events of the past fortnight probably will be recalled as the period when Joe Biden actually lost the election.

We must not become a country at war with ourselves. A country that accepts the killing of fellow Americans who do not agree with you. A country that vows vengeance toward one another. But that is the America that President Trump wants us to be, the America he believes we are.

As a country, we must condemn the incitement of hate and resentment that led to this deadly clash. It is not a peaceful protest when you go out spoiling for a fight. What does President Trump think will happen when he continues to insist on fanning the flames of hate and division in our society and using the politics of fear to whip up his supporters? He is recklessly encouraging violence. He may believe tweeting about law and order makes him strong – but his failure to call on his supporters to stop seeking conflict shows just how weak he is. He may think that war in our streets is good for his reelection chances, but that is not presidential leadership – or even basic human compassion.

The job of a President is to lower the temperature. To bring people who disagree with one another together. To make life better for all Americans, not just those who agree with us, support us, or vote for us.

Donald Trump has been president for almost four years. The temperature in the country is higher, tensions run stronger, divisions run deeper. And all of us are less safe because Donald Trump can’t do the job of the American president.

He is such a coward.

A broken coward.

Supporting a broken campaign.

That did nothing for 90 days while Portland smoldered and rioters ran rampant and refused Trump's help

Biden's campaign as well as Kamala did bail out rioters and the DA's let many others arrested free.

The Dems own this

whaa???

and undo all the work that you and 0linsky did to DIVIDE the nation?

gee alky, i mean joe, that just seems SO counter-productive now doesn't it?

you and skeets worked SO hard and did SO much to create racial strife and division in America. and with the help of 0linsky's "wing man" eric holder, you planted all of the seeds that are bearing so much violent fruit today.

so stand tall and proud, alky, i mean joe. you assholes sowed the wind, and now that you're safely ensconced in your basement and skeets in his ocean-front mansion, we reap the whirlwind.

you can look at all the carnage, destruction, arson and murder across the US and proudly proclaim -

"I built that."

ALBANY — A 7-year-old child was shot in the knee Sunday afternoon when gunman in a vehicle opened fire on a crowd of people gathered outside to enjoy the late summer weather, police said.

Caught in the crossfire that left a man injured too, the youngster is at least the third child 10 or younger shot in Albany in 2020 and the 100th shooting victim this year.

i need BLM to come up with some sort of instruction manual that helps us discern which black lives matter and which ones don't.

A top Democratic operative says voter fraud, especially with mail-in ballots, is no myth. And he knows this because he’s been doing it, on a grand scale, for decades.

Mail-in ballots have become the latest flashpoint in the 2020 elections. While President Trump and the GOP warn of widespread manipulation of the absentee vote that will swell with COVID polling restrictions, many Democrats and their media allies have dismissed such concerns as unfounded.

But the political insider, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he fears prosecution, said fraud is more the rule than the exception. His dirty work has taken him through the weeds of municipal and federal elections in Paterson, Atlantic City, Camden, Newark, Hoboken and Hudson County and his fingerprints can be found in local legislative, mayoral and congressional races across the Garden State. Some of the biggest names and highest office holders in New Jersey have benefited from his tricks, according to campaign records The Post reviewed.

“An election that is swayed by 500 votes, 1,000 votes — it can make a difference,” the tipster said. “It could be enough to flip states.”

The whisteblower — whose identity, rap sheet and long history working as a consultant to various campaigns were confirmed by The Post — says he not only changed ballots himself over the years, but led teams of fraudsters and mentored at least 20 operatives in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania — a critical 2020 swing state.

yes, may pappy mcstain burn in hell for all eternity -

The associate of John McCain who spread anti-Trump dossier claims around Washington post-election planned to leak a story to Washington Post columnist David Ignatius about Paul Manafort, according to court testimony.

Mr. Ignatius wrote the Jan. 12, 2017 column that eventually doomed retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, Mr. Trump’s first and brief national security adviser. The source was an Obama administration official, Mr. Ignatius wrote.

The McCain evidence emerged in July in a London courtroom, where dossier creator Christopher Steele faces a defamation lawsuit from a Russian CEO. Mr. Steele compiled the dossier for the Democratic Party. After Donald Trump won the presidency Mr. Steele provided memo copies to the Republican McCain and his associate David J. Kramer.

Trial evidence showed that Mr. Kramer not only took the dossier to the Obama White House and news media, he also tried to help reporters confirm its dozen or so felony allegations against Mr. Trump.

Mr. Kramer and Mr. Steele engaged in across-the-Atlantic messaging as the former State Department official would receive followup questions from reporters and relay them to the former British intelligence officer.

Andrew Caldecott, the attorney for Russian Aleksej Gubarev, read in court messages between Mr. Kramer and Mr. Steele, according to transcripts obtained by The Washington Times.

“The Flynn calls story is picking up legs,” Mr. Kramer says. This is a reference to the Ignatius column that Mr. Flynn had spoken to Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the transition.

Then Mr. Kramer tells Mr. Steele, “I think it’s time to get that other [Manafort] story out there. Get some sleep. Best, D [avid].”

“Thanks.”

Mr. Kramer says, “And Ignatius is the one I’ll feed it to.”

ah, so THAT explains the convicted DEMOCRAT voter fraudsters over in Troy NY less than 10 miles from where i type this.

thanks for clearing that up, BWAA.

the fact that you find "very very little voter fraud in the country" acceptable tells us all we need to know about the left and how they really about the sanctity and security of our voting processes.

so Trump really IS planning on stealing the election and he'll use DHS to do it!

Even before the FBI identified new cyberattacks on two separate state election boards, the Department of Homeland Security began considering declaring the election a "critical infrastructure," giving it the same control over security it has over Wall Street and the electric power grid.

The latest admissions of attacks could speed up that effort possibly including the upcoming presidential election, according to officials.

Another trump myth and steaming pile of BULLSHIT!!!!

WASHINGTON — President Trump has made his executive order tying prescription drug prices in the United States to the prices paid in Europe and other developed nations — and the ensuing war that has broken out with the pharmaceutical industry — a centerpiece of his campaign for re-election.

The problem: No such executive order has been released.

A month after a big White House signing ceremony, where Mr. Trump stood in front of a mock pharmacy and promised to “end global freeloading on the backs of American patients and American seniors,” the text of his directive remains largely a secret.

He has boasted of his efforts in campaign advertising, on the official White House website and on Twitter. But despite the president’s vow that he would issue the order on “August 24th at 12 o’clock” if the drug companies did not act on their own, the public’s only glimpse has come from an Associated Press photographer, who captured its first and last pages.

A White House spokesman declined to comment on the missing order.
