In the death of George Floyd, the State of Minnesota has charged former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin with second-degree murder and former officers Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng, and Tou Thao with aiding and abetting that murder. But, as will be shown in detail below, the physical, scientific, and electronically recorded evidence in the case overwhelmingly and conclusively proves that these defendants are not guilty of the charges and, in fact, played no material role in bringing about Floyd’s death.
Does this guy look sober and under control? |
Instead, the evidence proves that, when he first encountered the police, George Floyd was well on his way to dying from a self-administered drug overdose. Moreover, far from publicly, brazenly, and against their own self-interest slowly and sadistically killing Floyd in broad daylight before civilian witnesses with video cameras, the evidence proves that the defendants exhibited concern for Floyd’s condition and twice called for emergency medical services to render aid to him. Strange behavior, indeed, for supposedly brutal law officers allegedly intent on causing him harm.
Similarly, the evidence recorded by the body cameras worn by the police conclusively establishes that Floyd repeatedly complained that he couldn’t breathe before the police restrained him on the ground. As documented by Floyd’s autopsy and toxicology reports, his breathing difficulty was caused not by a knee on his neck or pressure on his back, but by the fact that he had in his bloodstream over three times the potentially lethal limit of fentanyl, a powerful and dangerous pain medication known to shut down the respiratory system and cause coma and death. He also had in his system a lesser dose of methamphetamine, which can cause paranoia, respiratory distress, coma, and death.
At the end of the day, the thing that matters most is that there are two possibilities.
- That Floyd died of a drug overdose
- That Floyd died of strangulation
For those of you who demand that we listen to science or that we trust only the facts, the reality is quite simple. There is more than enough medical and forensic evidence to suggest that Floyd died of a drug overdose. There is literally no scientific or forensic evidence provided by the official coroner autopsy that shows any physical trauma that would be consistent with strangulation.
Make up your mind about whether you think the four cops should go to jail or not. But don't pretend that the science backs the view and don't pretend that the video is proof of an obvious murder.

You know, I am open to listening to any and all actual medical and scientific evidence that Floyd's death was primarily due to a drug overdose rather than suffocation by the officers. But that needs to be determined by experts who should try to be as objectively honest with all the evidence as possible.
I would like to think that there might be some good reason for not being too severe in any possible punishment for the officers involved, although it will not be easy to convince the public or the world of that.
I think that nothing, however, will be able to persuade me that if I had been one of the people standing on the sidewalk while they were holding Floyd down, handcuffed and helpless -- I think no one can persuade me that I would not have been screaming at those police,
"The man says he can't breathe. GET YOUR KNEE OFF HIS NECK! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? YOU HEAR WHAT HE IS SAYING? HE'S HELPLESS! JUST TAKE YOUR KNEE OFF HIS NECK!"
I am convinced I would literally have screamed that at those officers, and if they had listened to me and to others who were saying things very similar, it sure would make the claim that Floyd died primarily of a drug overdose far more easy to believe.
george floyd killed george floyd.
the usual suspects saw an opportunity to use what stalin referred to as "useful idiots" and now we find ourselves in the midst of the biggest fucking shakedown we'll see in our lives.
Reverend - according to the few witnesses at the scene (including the people he was with) - Floyd had been complaining about not being able to breath and complaining that he was going to die "prior" to anyone holding him down.
Prior to Derek Chauvin even showing up, we know the following:
Floyd was incoherent.
Floyd was crying.
Floyd was literally "foaming at the mouth".
Floyd was having troubles walking.
Floyd claimed seven times that he could not breath.
Floyd claimed twice that he was "going to die"
Witnesses (prior to him being held down) had stated the he looked like he was about to have a "heart attack".
So witnesses saw a fairly crazy dude from the onset.
We also "finally" are being told that he was simply being held in place while they waited for the ambulance for the very reason he wouldn't sit still, was screaming about not being able to breath. They were calling for medical help long before he was held down.
It's also medically impossible for the sort of "neck restraint" (which is a Minnesota police tactic that they are trained to use) to have cut off the circulation of "both coratid arteries" (which would be needed for him to have been strangled) and it's extremely unlikely that it even cut off one.
If oxygen is cut off from the brain, you lose consciousnesses in just a matter of seconds. It doesn't take 9 minutes.
So now the case boils down to a man who was such a mess, complaining about how he was not able to breath and was going to die, that an ambulance had already been called...
and the police officers who used a trained technique to attempt to keep the man under control so that he didn't exasperate the situation by flailing around.
Moreover, fatalities from Fentanyl can occur with doses as small as 3 ng/ml and Floyd had 11 ng/ml in his system. On top of that he was also on Meth (which can cause convulsions and circulatory collapse).

It was. Objective evidence is not necessarily the evidence James Boswell wants to hear.
But it will likely acquit Derek Chauvin, Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng, and Tou Thao.
Which mean all rioting and destruction were for nothing. November is going to be interesting.
