Florida is an important part.

Right now the President has a lead in the Hispanic community, mainly because they are refugees from Cuba. So the claim that the Democrats are radical communists. Biden might get some of them, when he reminds them when the President said that Mexicans are rapists and murderers.

But going deeper is that Biden has a good lead among 65+ voters who supported Trump in 2016.

Plus Trump is planning to get rid of Social Security, Biden can get a few more votes than the President

Biden will get Michigan and Wisconsin and perhaps Pennsylvania if the suburbs turn out in big numbers

McConville declined to directly comment on Trump’s remarks, saying the military should avoid politics, particularly close to an election.

But pressed more generally on private industry's influence on the decision to go to war, McConville said military officers take very seriously their recommendations on whether to send troops into combat.

"Many of these leaders have sons and daughters that serve in the military. Many of these leaders have sons and daughters who have gone to combat or may be in combat right now," McConville said.

"I can assure the American people that the senior leaders would only recommend sending our troops to combat when it is required in national security, or as a last resort,” he continued. “We take this very, very seriously in how we make our recommendations.”

Dr. Siegel says we could be 'closer than we thought' to coronavirus vaccine
Fox News medical contributor Dr. Marc Siegel on vaccine development and importance for everyone to get the vaccine.

Nineteen percent of the 1.4 million new coronavirus cases in the U.S. between Aug. 2 and Sept. 2 can be traced back to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally held in South Dakota, according to researchers from San Diego State University's Center for Health Economics & Policy Studies.

That's more than 266,000 coronavirus cases attributed to the 10-day event, which more than 460,000 people attended despite fears it could become a so-called super-spreader event.

"We conclude that the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally generated public health costs of approximately $12.2 billion," the researchers wrote in a paper. "This is enough to have paid each of the estimated 462,182 rally attendees $26,553.64 not to attend."

The New York times on Michael Cohen

President Trump routinely referred to Black leaders of foreign nations with racist insults. He had an abiding admiration for President Vladimir V. Putin’s willingness to treat Russia like a personal business. And he was consumed with hatred for President Barack Obama.

Those are the descriptions that Michael D. Cohen, a former personal lawyer and self-described fixer for Mr. Trump, lays out in his book, “Disloyal: A Memoir,” which paints the president as a sordid, moblike figure willing to engage in underhanded tactics against anyone opposing him.

“As a rule, Trump expressed low opinions of all Black folks, from music to culture and politics,” Mr. Cohen writes in the book, to be released Tuesday. He describes Mr. Trump calling Nelson Mandela, who led the emancipation of South Africa from white minority rule, “no leader.”

“Tell me one country run by a Black person that isn’t a shithole,” Mr. Cohen quotes Mr. Trump as saying. He also alleges that Mr. Trump called Kwame Jackson, a Black contestant on his reality TV show “The Apprentice,” a homophobic slur, and that he had deep disgust with Black leaders in addition to celebrities and sports figures.

He also was obsessed with Mr. Obama, Mr. Cohen writes. The book describes Mr. Trump hiring “a Faux-Bama, or fake Obama, to record a video where Trump ritualistically belittled the first Black president and then fired him, a kind of fantasy fulfillment that it was hard to imagine any adult would spend serious money living out — until he did the functional equivalent in the real world.”

YET ANOTHER SIGN OF HIS DESPERATION
Trump to Spend More In Minnesota Than Wisconsin

September 8, 2020 at 5:25 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 140 Comments

“President Trump’s campaign is currently planning to spend more money on advertising in Minnesota than in either Wisconsin or Michigan during the final stretch of the 2020 race, a significant shift in strategy as its path to 270 electoral votes narrows,” McClatchy reports.

“Trump’s campaign is slated to pour more than $14 million into Minnesota between the beginning of September through Election Day, compared to $12.6 million in Michigan and $8.3 million in Wisconsin, according to Advertising Analytics, a media tracking firm. The sums include ads booked to run on TV, radio and online.

“It’s a reversal from the previous three months, when the president’s campaign had devoted more money to Michigan and Wisconsin, two Upper Midwest battlegrounds that Trump surprisingly carried in 2016, but where he has seen his standing slip.”

It is now officially “game on” time for 2020. Everything before this point has been sound and fury, signifying nothing. This is typical of American elections. For example, in July 1988, Michael Dukakis was crushing George H.W. Bush in the polls by 17 points. Guess who didn’t win that November? But now, with the parties’ conventions in the rear-view mirror, we are in the period when things like polls and momentum really count.

So let me set the table for what is taking place right now, because—shocker—the media doesn’t really want you to know the truth.

Yes, those “paragons of truth,” who are pure as the driven snow, are lying to you. It’s OK if you need to hit the fainting couch and clutch your pearls at this point, but take for example the recent story at The Atlantic alleging Trump’s disparagement of our military. Bald-faced lies, but also an indicator of what is to come: our corrupt and dishonest media will be running numerous fake stories like that in the next 60 days to try to bring Trump down.

But that’s what liars do: they lie.

Right now, the 2020 presidential race is very tight. Trump actually gets the nod for a slim lead. First, never, ever underestimate the power of incumbency: only five presidents have lost their reelection bid since 1900. Trump has a dedicated base of supporters and, because of structural advantages in the Electoral College, is in the pole position.

Lest you think I’m making this up: Trafalgar has Trump up by 2 points in Michigan. Rasmussen has a dead heat in Pennsylvania. In fact, if you dig down a little into that Rasmussen poll, among the 82 percent who say they are certain how they will vote in November, Trump is leading, 51-49 percent. National polls such as Emerson and Rasmussen show it a 1-2 point race with Biden barely clinging to the lead.

Some pollsters that I respect (read: not Fox News, just so we’re clear) think Wisconsin and Michigan are going to go for Trump, with Minnesota and Pennsylvania coin tosses and Arizona and Virginia in play, if it goes well for Trump leading into and on Election Day. The Democracy Institute poll even shows Trump winning the popular vote. The horror of it all!
...
Scoot on over to Trend Macrolytics which has correctly predicted the victor in the Electoral College in the past 17 presidential election cycles (1952-2016). An updated analysis has flipped over the last six weeks to show Trump now winning definitively in the Electoral College, 410 electoral votes to 128 electoral votes. Do I think Trump will break 400 electoral votes? Probably not. But the only thing that Trend has gotten wrong since 1952 is the margin of victory. It has always correctly predicted the ultimate winner.

https://amgreatness.com/2020/09/07/game-time-2020/

bringing some sanity against the non-stop flow of TDS on display here.

Wait till Trump destroys the Atlantic narrative with a counterpunch that makes Dukakis wince. It's coming.

And it will be spectacular.

Biden loses his Florida lead as Latino voters shift to Trump

The sun may be setting on Democrats' hopes of picking up Florida.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has seemingly lost his advantage over President Trump in the crucial swing state of Florida, an NBC News/Marist poll released Tuesday found. A lot of that shift seemingly stems from Florida's Latino voters, who have gone from resoundingly supporting Hillary Clinton in 2016 to actually tipping in Trump's favor this time around, the poll showed.

Less than two months before election day, Biden and Trump are tied in Florida with 48 percent support among likely Florida voters. Biden had previously pulled as much as a 13-point lead over Trump in Florida. That dip comes as a majority of Latino respondents say they're voting for Trump over Biden, 50-46 percent; Latino voters went for Clinton 62-35 in 2016.

Those words, which he uttered on a peaceful Sunday morning in 1941 on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, would haunt Kermit A. Tyler for the rest of his life.

Tyler was the Army Air Forces’ first lieutenant on temporary duty at Fort Shafter’s radar information center on the morning of Dec. 7, 1941, when a radar operator on the northern tip of the island reported that he and another private were seeing an unusually large “blip” on their radar screen, indicating a large number of aircraft about 132 miles away and fast approaching.

“Don’t worry about it,” Tyler told the radar operator, thinking it was a flight of U.S. B-17 bombers that was due in from the mainland.

Instead, the blip on the radar screen was the first wave of more than 180 Japanese fighters, torpedo bombers, dive bombers and horizontal bombers whose surprise attack on Pearl Harbor and the island’s main airfields shortly before 8 a.m. plunged the United States into World War II.

The White America Campaign.

By Peter Baker
Sept. 6, 2020
WASHINGTON — After a summer when hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets protesting racial injustice against Black Americans, President Trump has made it clear over the last few days that, in his view, the country’s real race problem is bias against white Americans.

Just days after returning from Kenosha, Wis., where he staunchly backed law enforcement and did not mention the name of Jacob Blake, the Black man shot seven times in the back by the police, Mr. Trump issued an order on Friday to purge the federal government of racial sensitivity training that his White House called “divisive, anti-American propaganda.”

The president then spent much of the weekend tweeting about his action, presenting himself as a warrior against identity politics. “This is a sickness that cannot be allowed to continue,” he wrote of such programs. “Please report any sightings so we can quickly extinguish!” He reposted a tweet from a conservative outlet hailing his order: “Sorry liberals! How to be Anti-White 101 is permanently cancelled!”

Not in generations has a sitting president so overtly declared himself the candidate of white America. While Mr. Trump’s campaign sought to temper the culture war messaging at the Republican National Convention last month by showcasing Black and Hispanic supporters who denied that he is a racist, the president himself has increasingly made appeals to the grievances of white supporters a centerpiece of his campaign to win a second term.

The message appears designed to galvanize supporters who have cheered what they see as a defiant stand against political correctness since the days when he kicked off his last presidential campaign in 2015 by denouncing, without evidence, Mexicans crossing the border as “rapists.” While he initially voiced concern over the killing of George Floyd under the knee of a white police officer in Minneapolis this spring, which touched off nationwide protests, he has focused since then almost entirely on defending the police and condemning demonstrations during which there have been outbreaks of looting and violence.

And Scott said that he was not murdered, so he could discredit the Black Lives Matter movement.

President Trump claimed at a campaign rally in North Carolina that he was "sailing" to an easy re-election before the coronavirus pandemic, asking the crowd they thought China allowed the virus to spread "on purpose."

WASHINGTON — In early August, more than 460,000 motorcycle enthusiasts converged on Sturgis, S.D., for a 10-day celebration where few wore facial coverings or practiced social distancing. A month later, researchers have found that thousands have been sickened across the nation, leading them to brand the Sturgis rally a “superspreader” event.

“The Sturgis Rally was one of the largest in-person gatherings since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the United States,” said Joseph J. Sabia, one of the study’s authors, a professor of economics and the director of the Center for Health Economics & Policy Studies at San Diego State University. He described the “public health costs” of the rally as “substantial and widespread.” He and his co-authors estimate that dealing with the fallout from the rally will involve more than $12 billion in health care costs.

“The spread of the virus due to the event was large,” the authors write, because it hosted people from all over the country. But the severity of the spread was closely tied to the approaches to the pandemic by Sturgis attendees’ home states. In some places, any spread related to people returning from the rally was blunted by strong mitigation measures, like a face-mask mandate or a prohibition against indoor dining.

The findings come in a new paper, “The Contagion Externality of a Superspreading Event: The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and COVID-19,” published by IZA — Institute of Labor Economics, a German think tank. Its four authors are all researchers affiliated with American universities.

It is not clear if the study was subject to peer review.

The rally was held in a state whose governor, Kristi Noem, is a close Trump supporter and, like the president, a skeptic of many coronavirus mitigation measures, such as the wearing of face masks. And while the rally itself had no political orientation, Trump has made overtures to bikers, even inviting some to ride at the White House. At the Sturgis rally, a group called Bikers for Trump registered voters.

The new research paper contains an unlikely but telling quotation from Steve Harwell, singer for the band Smash Mouth, which performed at this year’s rally: “Now we’re all here together tonight. And we’re being human once again. F*** that COVID s***.” Trump used a Smash Mouth song during the 2016 campaign; the band played at the Lincoln Memorial ahead of his 2017 presidential inauguration.

WASHINGTON — Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden leads President Donald Trump by a 9-point margin among likely voters in Pennsylvania, a key swing state where Biden was born, according to a new NBC News/Marist poll.

The survey finds that Biden and his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris of California, get the support of 53 percent of likely Pennsylvania voters, compared with 44 percent who back Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. In 2016, Trump barely bested Hillary Clinton in the state by less than 1 percentage point.

Donald Rapist

NEW YORK (AP) — The Justice Department is asking to take over President Donald Trump's defense in a defamation lawsuit from a writer who accused him of rape, and federal lawyers asked a court Tuesday to allow a move that could put the American people on the hook for any money she might be awarded.

After New York state courts turned down Trump's request to delay E. Jean Carroll's suit, Justice Department lawyers filed court papers aiming to shift the case into federal court and to substitute the U.S. for Trump as the defendant. That means the federal government, rather than Trump himself, might have to pay damages if any are awarded.

The move to intervene is in keeping with a Justice Department that time and again has advanced a broad vision of executive power and has moved to shield Trump from legal exposure, most notably by arguing that actions taken to choke off the Russia investigation fell within the scope of his constitutional authorities and were therefore permissible.

It also comes amid concerns that Attorney General William Barr has gone out of his way to intervene in other legal cases involving Trump or his allies. Barr tried to decrease the amount of prison time his office sought for Trump ally Roger Stone following a criminal trial where he was found guilty. (Stone's sentence was later commuted by Trump.) Barr's Justice Department has acted to dismiss its own case against former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Carroll’s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, called the department's argument “shocking.”

“It offends me as a lawyer and offends me even more as a citizen,” she said in a statement.

Carroll said the developments illustrated “that Trump will do everything possible, including using the full powers of the federal government,” to try to stop the case.

And in a tweet addressed to Trump, Carroll wrote: “Sir, I and my attorney Robbie Kaplan, are ready! So is every woman who has ever been silenced! So is every American citizen who has been trampled by Bill Barr and the DOJ! BRING IT!”

The filing complicates, at least for the moment, Carroll's efforts to get a DNA sample from the president as potential evidence and to have him answer questions under oath.

Justice Department lawyers argue that Trump was "acting within the scope of his office” when he denied Carroll's allegations, made last year, that he raped her in a New York luxury department store in the mid-1990s. She says his comments — including that she was “totally lying” to sell a memoir — besmirched her character and harmed her career.

“Numerous courts have recognized that elected officials act within the scope of their office or employment when speaking with the press, including with respect to personal matters,” the Justice attorneys wrote.

It will be up to a federal judge to decide whether to move the case to federal court from state court and to allow the U.S. to become the defendant.

Meanwhile, the stock markets in the past week have suffered their worst one-day drops since the coronavirus first froze the U.S. economy in March. On Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 dropped 632 points and 95 points, respectively — more than 2 percent each — while the tech-heavy Nasdaq composite dropped 465 points, or 4.11 percent.

While the stock markets surged upward through July and August, the start of September has brought a stark shift in sentiment. Coronavirus infections are expected to spike when the fall temperatures drop and there doesn’t appear to be a clear path to getting another federal relief package.

“Trump needs a package just because the stock market has been declining. There is a possibility that COVID infections will increase in the fall and we know the economy is a big variable in how people vote,” said Darrell West, director of governance studies at the Brookings Institution.

hey, i have an idea...

let's ACCELERATE the flight from NY. let's focus specifically on giving the rich yet another reason to flee...

New York legislators want to tax the rich to finance an 'excluded workers' fund

Would benefit undocumented workers who pay unemployment but can't draw on it

Legislation carried by state Assemblywoman Carmen De La Rosa, D-Manhattan, and Sen. Jessica Ramos, D-Queens, aims to provide financial relief to those who have been left out by establishing an “excluded workers" fund that would provide $750 weekly payments retroactive to the beginning of the pandemic to families that have lost income but are barred from accessing existing programs and funding.

People who were recently released from incarceration or immigrant detention and are unable to get work as well as businesses or self-employed workers who lack documentation to apply for small business relief and are barred from unemployment and federal pandemic assistance also could qualify, De La Rosa said.

The fund would be financed through a tax on residents with $1 billion or more in net assets, which is estimated to generate $5.5 billion in revenue, De La Rosa said. The fund would receive $3.5 billion of that revenue, with the rest going into the general fund to fill gaps in the state's overall budget plan.

These voters returned absentee ballots and then also showed up at polling places on election day, Raffensperger said. Double-voting is a felony in Georgia.

“A double-voter knows exactly what they’re doing, diluting the votes of each and every voter that follows the law,” Raffensperger said during a press conference at the state Capitol. “Those that make the choice to game the system are breaking the law. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said Tuesday that President Trump “caused the COVID[-19] outbreak in New York” by not announcing a European travel ban sooner.

The New York governor criticized Trump and the federal government for not providing funding to New York City and New York state governments to deal with the aftermath from the coronavirus pandemic during a press briefing Tuesday. And he alleged the administration, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), caused the pandemic in his state.

"Donald Trump caused the COVID outbreak in New York,” Cuomo said. “That is a fact. It’s a fact that he admitted, and the CDC admitted, and Fauci admitted.”

Cuomo slammed Trump for calling the virus the “Chinese virus” and not declaring the European travel ban in time, saying, “They missed it.” The governor also labeled Trump’s CDC, National Institutes of Health and Department of Homeland Security as “incompetent.”

“The virus killed many more Americans than anything you were worried about on the southern border,” he said. “This nation loses more people per day to COVID than any nation on the globe.”

“You know who did that? Donald Trump’s incompetence,” he added. “And now, they won’t provide federal funding to help repair the damage from the ambush they created.”

i see a vivid reality, alky.

i see an urban reality that has caused the entire command structure of the Rochester NY PD to retire.

i see a cultural reality that's so fucked up some moron doing a "gender reveal" set fire to 10,000 acres and counting in mexifornia.

i see a political reality that has people fleeing the State of NY like it's on fucking fire.

i'm not the guy putting up 100 posts a day trying to convince me that Slow Joe an da Ho are going to win "youknow, the thing" in a fucking landslide.

don't talk to me about reality, alky. especially when YOUR reality is two failed marriages, one failed liver due to alcoholism, and lockdown in an assisted living facility.

Obama was going to "take our guns away." Remember that? Of course, Hillary would too. And now it's Joe Biden's turn. On a daily basis, Trump tells his fans, "Biden wants to abolish the 2nd Amendment." The plain truth is that repeal of a Constitutional Amendment requires a 2/3 vote by the Congress and ratification by 3/4 of the states. The President gets NO vote. The Supreme Court gets NO vote.

Thread explaining the misinformation regarding Sturgis rally

https://twitter.com/boriquagato/status/1303411443669364740

Example:

these 3 states combined have 309 hospitalizations. the US as a whole has 31,999.

SD has 78 people in hospital.

calling this a "superspread" is like mistaking the geico lizard for godzilla.

deaths from cov in SD were 46 in the month prior to sturgis and have been 29 since.

FAKE NEWS is as desperate as the dems

"More than 100 nights of riots and other political unrest in Portland, Ore., appear to be having an effect on voters’ confidence in the mayor’s job performance, according to a new poll.

Mayor Ted Wheeler is viewed negatively by 63% -- or nearly two-thirds – of the city’s voters, according to a poll paid for by Yes for Real Community Oversight of Police, a political action committee, OregonLive.com reported.

Only 26% of voters viewed the mayor favorably, the poll results said."

Woodward book: Trump says he knew coronavirus was ‘deadly’ and worse than the flu while intentionally misleading Americans

President Trump’s head popped up during his top-secret intelligence briefing in the Oval Office on Jan. 28 when the discussion turned to the novel coronavirus outbreak in China.

“This will be the biggest national security threat you face in your presidency,” national security adviser Robert O’Brien told Trump, according to a new book by Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward. “This is going to be the roughest thing you face.”

Matthew Pottinger, the deputy national security adviser, agreed. He told the president that after reaching contacts in China, it was evident that the world faced a health emergency on par with the flu pandemic of 1918, which killed an estimated 50 million people worldwide.

Ten days later, Trump called Woodward and revealed that he thought the situation was far more dire than what he had been saying publicly.

“You just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed,” Trump said in a Feb. 7 call. “And so that’s a very tricky one. That’s a very delicate one. It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flu.”

“This is deadly stuff,” the president repeated for emphasis.

At that time, Trump was telling the nation that the virus was no worse than a seasonal flu, predicting it would soon disappear, and insisting that the U.S. government had it totally under control. It would be several weeks before he would publicly acknowledge that the virus was no ordinary flu and that it could be transmitted through the air.

[70 days: The U.S. was beset by denial and dysfunction as the coronavirus raged]

Trump admitted to Woodward on March 19 that he deliberately minimized the danger. “I wanted to always play it down,” the president said.
