Fauci backs Trump regarding Woodward allegations

Fauci says Trump never went against the task force or mislead public on Covid-19

Again, people need to understand that there is a difference between leadership being reassuring and not pushing the public into panic, and leadership lying or misleading the public.  There is no question that by mid-March that the President, the task force, and the country were taking the Covid-19 situation as seriously as could be expected. The President started providing daily task force briefings on March 16th, when our country had not yet reported a hundred deaths.

Let me repeat that: The President started providing daily task force briefings on March 16th, when our country had not yet reported a hundred deaths.

So it's one thing for a political author to use quotes and statements to suggest something. But to prove an allegation (which is that Trump downplayed the virus) - you would need to tell us at what point did the President actually provide a different message than was being provided to him by the experts on the task force.

More importantly, at what time did the President offer a different plan, undermine, or otherwise overrule the medical experts?

According to Fauci, there was not any such times. The President stayed on the talking points and messaging that the medical experts and others were providing him. It was Fauci himself that was telling people in January and even February to go on with their lives and that there wasn't much to be gained by changing anything. Fauci has also suggested on multiple occasions that the President followed the medical advice to a "T" and even went further than suggested when it came to such things as travel bans.

It's dishonest, deceitful, and desperate of liberals to attempt to suggest something that just isn't true. But hey, take your pick. A journalist who spoke for a few minutes with the President or the top epidemiologist in the world who worked with the President every day on the task force and was largely in charge of the medical messaging?

Who knows more about this subject? Woodward or Fauci?

You spent a month trying to discredit Dr. Fauci. So you use him as a credible source.

Hypocrisy squared

Trump was saying things to Woodward that he was not saying either to the public or to Fauci.

Woodward should have blown the whistle, but he didn't. He will have to live with that.

Trump’s On Defense Again
September 10, 2020 at 10:00 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

First Read: “The first week of campaigning after Labor Day is now halfway over, and President Trump is once again playing defense
– on the Bob Woodward book,
on another whistleblower’s allegations,
and on a report that an administration official was trying to muzzle Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“It comes after he was already on his heels over the Atlantic article that accused him of disparaging U.S. war dead.

“And it comes after Trump TRIED to play offense on ‘law and order’ after the James Blake police shooting in Kenosha
– and he’s still trailing in all-important Wisconsin.

“No, this presidential contest isn’t over. But Trump, with 54 days until Election Day, is running out of time to turn the race from a referendum on him to a choice election against Joe Biden.”

IT'S BECOMING MORE AND MORE A REFERENDUM ON HIM, AS IT SHOULD BE.

His National Security advisor said in January that he was facing the worst medical threat in history.

Then on February 7th he said that the virus was spreading and it would effect older people and young people. In the public he said it was a Democrat hoax and that it would dissapear.

He lied to the public, it is dereliction of duty as the President

You spent a month trying to discredit Dr. Fauci. So you use him as a credible source.

And you have lifted Dr Fauci up as a hero!

Now you believe Fauci knows less than Bob Woodward about what the proper Covid-19 response should have been.

As you like to say, Rog... someone has lost their mind.

If it's me and we are supposed to listen to journalists over scientists on how we handle pandemics... then I guess I am going to drop out of society and move to a farm somewhere away from everything.

This Republican Party Is Not Worth Saving

Tom Nichols:
“I was a Republican for most of my adult life.
I came of political age in 1980, and although I grew up in a working-class Democratic stronghold in Massachusetts, I found a home in Ronald Reagan’s GOP.
"Back then, the Republicans were a confident ‘party of ideas’ (a compliment bestowed on them by one of their foes, Democratic Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan of New York), optimistic boosters of the American dream at home, and fierce opponents of the Soviet Union overseas. While the Democrats were the party of recrimination and retreat, the Republicans were the party of the future.

“I understand the attachment to that GOP, even among those who have sworn to defeat Donald Trump, but the time for sentimentality is over.

"That party is long gone.
Today the Republicans are the party of ‘American carnage’ and Russian collusion,
of scams, plots, and weapons-grade contempt for the rule of law.

"The only decent, sensible, and conservative position is to vote against this Republican Party at every level, and bring the sad final days of a once-great political institution to an end.

"Then build the party back up again—from scratch.”

Those 18 hours disclosed that the President made false statements to the American people.

I wondered why the President agreed to be interviewed by Woodward, i think that he thinks that his job as President is like his reality show, where he could shout Your fired

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Scott, speaking as a long time friend, look at what this President has done to the Republican party. He adores dictators like Vladimir Putin is Kim Jong Ung. No Republican President has ever sucked up to dictatorships.

He is seeing racial divisions with his comments on the suburbs. Only one Republican President has ever said that, since Richard Nixon. Reagan never said anything like that. Nor the Bush administrations.

The budget deficit is a record number ever.

He didn't think that John McCain was a hero, because he was captured and tortured for 5 years!

I don't agree with a lot of Republicans policies, but that's normal disagreement.

Trump is not a Republican conservative

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

One other thing is the President and his response on systemic racism ,he said that Woodward was drinking Cool Aid!

Scott, you are not a racist person, but you seem to accept the President's message.

Both sides do that too, but he uses racial fear as a political ploy. It's not right.

The only panic Trump was concerned about in January was panic in the stock market that could lead to a downturn in the economy which he saw as his ticket to re-election. Unfortunately the economy is a mess anyway. So all he accomplished was misleading people into believing that they had nothing to worry about because this was “just like the flu.” like you said That was a lie when he said it, and it’s still a lie 190k+ deaths later.

tRUMP’s military record

Here’s what tRump has done for our Veterans and Military...
Copied.

Just passing along a handy reference for those of us who genuinely appreciate and respect our military and the law:
• In May 2020, the White House planned to end National Guard deployments one day before they could claim benefits. He was later forced to reverse this decision.
• The Trump admin seized 5 million masks intended for VA hospitals. Kushner distributes these masks to private entities for a fee, who then sells the masks to the government
• Trump fired the captain of the USS Theodore Roosevelt after he warned superiors that COVID19 was spreading among his crew. The virus subsequently spread amongst the crew.
• After Iran's retaliatory strike, 109 US troops suffered brain injuries. Trump dismissed these as "headaches"
• On July 20, 2017, in room 2E924 of the Pentagon, Trump told a room full of Generals, "You’re a bunch of dopes and babies"
• Pardoned multiple war criminals, which stomped on long standing military values, discipline, and command. Trump has no military experience (May&Nov, 2019)
• Trump mocked Lt. Col. Vindman for his rank and uniform. He threatened said purple heart officer, resulting in the Army providing him protection
• Trump’s Chief of Staff worked—in secret—to deny comprehensive health coverage to Vietnam Vets who suffered from Agent Orange.
• There is a facility in Tijuana for US veterans that Trump deported. Wounded war vet, Sen Duckworth (D) marked Veterans Day 2019 by visiting this facility
• Russia took control of the main U.S. military facility in Syria abandoned on Trump’s orders. Russia now owns the airstrip we built
• On Oct 7, 2019, Trump abruptly withdrew support from America's allies in Syria after a phone call with Turkey's president (Erdogan). Turkey subsequently bombed US Special Forces.
• Trump sent thousands of American troops to defend the oil assets of the country that perpetrated 9/11
• In Sept 2019, he made an Air Force cargo crew, in Scotland (where there's no U.S. base) to refuel at a commercial airport (where it costs more), so they could stay overnight at a Trump property (which isn't close to the airport). Trump’s golf courses are losing money, so he's forcing the military to pay for 5-star nights there.
• In Sept, 2019, Pentagon pulled funds for military schools, military housing funds, and daycare to pay for Trump's border wall.
• In Aug, 2019, emails revealed that three of Trump's Mar-a-Lago pals, who are now running Veterans Affairs, are rampant with meddling. "They had no experience in veterans affairs (none of them even served in the military) nor underwent any kind of approval process to serve as de facto managers. Yet, with Trump’s approval, they directed actions and criticized operations without any oversight. They wasted valuable staff time in hundreds of pages of communications and meetings, emails show. Emails reveal disdainful attitudes within the department to the trio’s meddling."
• Veterans graves will be "dug up" for the border wall, after Trump instructed aides to seize private property. Trump told officials he would pardon them if they break the law by illegally seizing property
• Children of deployed US troops are no longer guaranteed citizenship. This includes US troops posted abroad for years at a time (August 28, 2019)
• On Aug 2, 2019, Trump requisitioned military retirement funds towards border wall

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

• He banned service members from serving based on gender identity (1/22/2019)
• He denied female troops access to birth control to limit sexual activity (on-going. Published Jan 18, 2019)
• He tried to deport a marine vet who is a U.S.-born citizen (Jan 16, 2019)
• When a man was caught swindling veterans pensions for high-interest “cash advances," Trump's Consumer Financial Protection Bureau fined him $1 (Jan 26, 2019)
• He called a retired general a 'dog' with a 'big, dumb mouth' (Jan 1, 2019)
• He increased privatization of the VA, leading
• He urged Florida to not count deployed military votes (Nov 12, 2018)
• He canceled an Arlington Cemetery visit on Veterans Day due to light rain (Nov 12, 2018)
• While in Europe commemorating the end of WWI, he didn't attend the ceremony at a US cemetery due to the rain -- other world leaders went anyway (Nov 10, 2018)
• He used troops as a political prop by sending them on a phantom mission to the border and made them miss Thanksgiving with their families (Oct-Dec, 2018)
• He stopped using troops as a political prop immediately after the election. However, the troops remained in muddy camps on the border (Nov 7, 2018)
• Trump changed the GI Bill through his Forever GI Act, causing the VA to miss veteran benefits, including housing allowances. This caused many vets to run out of food and rent. (reported October 7, 2018)
• Trump doubled the rejection rate for veterans requesting family deportation protections (July 5, 2018)
• Trump deported active-duty spouses (11,800 military families face this problem as of April 2018)
• He forgot a fallen soldier's name (below) during a call to his pregnant widow, then attacked her the next day (Oct 23-24, 2017)
• He sent commandos into an ambush due to a lack of intel, and sends contractors to pick them up, resulting in a commando being left behind, tortured, and executed. (Trump approved the mission because Bannon told him Obama didn't have the guts to do it) (Oct 4, 2017)
• He blocked a veteran group on Twitter (June 2017)
• He ordered the discharge of active-duty immigrant troops with good records (2017-present)
• He deported veterans (2017-present)
• He said he knows more about ISIS than American generals (Oct 2016)
• On Oct 3, 2016, Trump said vets get PTSD because they aren't strong (note: yes, he said it's 'because they aren't strong.' He didn't say it's 'because they're weak.' This distinction is important because of Snopes)
• Trump accepted a Purple Heart from a fan at one of his rallies and said: “I always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier.” (Aug 2, 2016)
• Trump attacks Gold Star families: Myeshia Johnson (gold star widow), Khan family (gold star parents) etc. (2016-present)
• Trump sent funds raised from a Jan 2016 veterans benefit to the Donald J Trump Foundation instead of veterans charities (the foundation has since been ordered shut because of fraud) (Jan, 2016)
• Trump said he has "more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military" because he went to a military-style academy (2015 biography)
• Trump said he doesn't consider POWs heroes because they were caught. He said he prefers people who were not caught (July 18, 2015)
• Trump said having unprotected sex was his own personal Vietnam (1998)
• For a decade, Trump sought to kick veterans off of Fifth Avenue because he found them unsightly nuisances outside of Trump Tower. 1991
• Trump dodged the draft 5 times by having a doctor diagnose him with bone spurs.
• No Trump in America has ever served in the military; this spans 5 generations, and every branch of the family tree. In fact, the reason his grandfather immigrated to America was to avoid military service.....WHO'S THE REAL "LOSER?"

Trump may have disclosed a nuclear weapons program, when he was taking to Bob Woodward

A Department of Homeland Security official said in a whistleblower complaint that the head of DHS told him to stop reporting on the Russian threat to the U.S. election because it "made President Trump look bad."

The White House and DHS denied the allegations. However, the president's Democratic critics say the accusations are the latest sign that the Trump administration is attempting to politicize the intelligence community and downplay Russian attempts to interfere in this year's election, as Moscow did in 2016.

The DHS official, Brian Murphy, made the accusation in a formal whistleblower complaint filed Tuesday with the department's inspector general.

Murphy ran the Office of Intelligence and Analysis at DHS until the end of July, when he was demoted to a lesser management job.

That puts our nation at risk!

I have been wearing a mask in stores (and limiting my trips) since March when this whole thing went down.
I’m not sure how being considerate to others for the common good is now being mocked by some who are calling it “living in fear”, but it needs to stop....
When I wear a mask over my nose and mouth in public and in the stores/Supermarkets/Pharmacies/Offices - I want you to know the following:
I'm educated enough to know that I could be asymptomatic and still give you the virus.
No, I don't "live in fear" of the virus; I just want to be part of the solution, not the problem.
I don't feel like the "government controls me". I feel like I'm an adult contributing to the security in our society and I want to teach others the same.
If we could all live with the consideration of others in mind, the whole world would be a much better place.
Wearing a mask doesn't make me weak, scared, stupid or even "controlled". It makes me caring and responsible.
When you think about your appearance, discomfort, or other people's opinion of you, imagine a loved one - a child, father, mother, grandparent, aunt, uncle or even a stranger - placed on a ventilator, alone without you or any family member allowed at their bedside.....Ask yourself if you could have helped them a little by wearing a mask.
I copied and posted... Who else will do the same?
